i think leo would also like kaai yuki because of ruka! i dont know if she has a canonical voice or not so this could be wildly inaccurate but i know she’s really shy and since kaai yuki has a very soft childlike voice (considering she was literally voiced by a 9-10 year old girl) and i think it would remind him of his little sister <3 i imagine he’d use her in a similar way that inabakumori uses her voice
omg no you're so right. since it's canon that ruka helps leo write songs (lyrics specifically, since leo's specialty is the melodies) i bet they work together and specifically use kaai yuki when they collab...
also i can totally see leo in his shut-in era using kaai yuki to make a song just for ruka to remind her that he loves her and cares for her despite how bad he is at the moment..... bc kaai yuki represents both of them...... <- made myself sad

4t3 CloudCat Fatal Frame Ruka Set
Actually, this was converted to The Sims 4 from the game "Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse" by CloudCat, then I converted it to The Sims 3 the moment it became publicly available!
There are three items: the Ruka Lace Dress, for teens and (young) adult females, the stockings for teens-elders (they have meramaid-like scale patterns), and the necklace pendant for teens-elders. Valid for maternity!
This makes four files in total since the dress has two for the individual TF and AF conversions.
For the lace dress (4 channels), there are two presets: the first has the black part above the chest and the back as an overlay, so it matches closer to the original dress. The second doesn't, so the white lace sort of gets darker with dark colors.
Polycount: Dress - 7k, Necklace - 528 (yes, it's low)!
Uhhh, Happy Simblrween!... I think. This counts as a gift since it's horror and a costume, technically.

Kicking my feet cause I think the modern day Rengoku family would be such a loving one. You have Ruka, who didn’t succumb to illness and is still around to see her two sons grow up. Shinjuro who never had a reason to fall into a depression and bad habits. Kyojuro, who’s in college, double majoring in teaching and history. And then you have baby Senjuro who’s about to start middle school. Then there is you, who came into the picture during Kyojuro’s sophomore year. The two of you grew from lab partners to friends, from friends to lovers. Now, you’re mentally preparing to meet his family. You fully trust your boyfriend when he says his parents are kind, that his little brother will love you, but that doesn’t settle your nerves. “They’ll love you, y/n, honest.” You sigh, eyes closing as Kyojuro placed a kiss on your forehead. “And what if they don’t?” Your palms are clammy, clasping together in order to keep yourself from fidgeting with your clothes. “Nonsense.” Was all Kyojuro said, pulling your hands apart so he could hold one. He’s dragging you up the pathway to his family home, watching as your eyes widen by the sheer size of it. “You weren’t joking…” the Rengoku family was extremely wealthy. Kyojuro is chuckling now, not giving you any time to prepare as he pushes the front door open. “Mom, dad, we’re here!” Instead of a response, the most beautiful woman you had ever seen is rounding the corner and greeting you both with a warm smile. “Mom!” Kyojuro is letting go of your hand to hug her, you’re smiling at the two, stiffening a bit as Kyojuro’s father rounds the corner. “You must be y/n. Kyojuro has told us so much about you.” He holds his hand out, you’re holding your breath as you take it because you’re terrified he’ll feel how nervous you are. Shinjuro is a handsome and towering man, it truly looks like he copied and pasted himself to get Kyojuro. “It’s so nice to finally meet the two of you! Kyojuro has talked so highly of the both of you” Kyojuro finally parts from his mom, allowing the woman to walk over to you. You’re frozen in place as she gently places her hands on your cheeks. “You’re even more beautiful in person. Kyojuro sends us pictures all the time…” behind her, Kyojuro is turning red and yelping out a small “mom!” She ignores him, smiling softly as your cheeks grow warm. “I want to thank you for making our son so happy, to do that, I’ve prepared a few of your favorite dishes.” You’re ready to melt on the spot, though you shouldn’t have expected anything less from the two people who raised such an amazing man. “That’s so kind of you!” You nearly squeak in response. “No need to stand in the doorway, go make yourselves comfortable. I’ll go find Senjuro, he’s a bit shy.” Shinjuro smiles at you before Ruka motions the both of you to follow her. Maybe this wouldn’t be so terrifying after all.

Ohtori is such a disorienting place. It's so emblematic that none of the actual needs of the people in it are met. In fact it gives answers but none actually are satisfying for anyone yet the answers are presented as only alternative. ("You have to revolutionize the world (by participating in the duels that ensure the world continues to run on the same old dynamic.)"
What system Ohtori, Akio by proxy, proposes is the idea of power over another. It's very gendered power as we learn later. Women's power exists either as extension's of a man (Nanami's high social status by virtue of being Touga's little sister), be inspired to have power by extension of a man (Wakaba), surrendering to a man (Kozue), or can be easily taken away power if a man decides that the woman had enough power (Juri,Utena). In the instance a woman has power it's also used to dominate others just like men do. (Nanami being cruel to others, to Tsuwabuki in particular, Utena treating Anthy her a puzzle piece to her princely identity.) In the end there is an idea how someone who should hold all the power should be like (the Prince), and they're given free reign. However that's not what the characters need.
Touga is entirely helpless to his paternal CSA. Akio's proposition is to become, for once, the one in charge of others so none can exploit him again. And Touga fails to see how Akio still exploits him by directing Touga, with quiet implicit imagery stressing that dynamic. What Touga would have needed was protection and a trusting family.
Nanami grew up so isolated and shamed for diverging from the norm, she is entirely dependent on external subjects and objects to define her. Either it's being defined by her relationship to Touga which is the entire basis of her social status, and her only hope for affection. Nanami can only define herself by traditional feminine and classicist means like her perceived ideal femininity, and brand-name jewelry which can easily turn on her, if external voices tell her that she should wear something. Nanami is so desperate for affection, being cared and loved for but the only language she is given is Ohtori's language of "men and women are only corresponding romantically". She can't express her need for familial proximity to Touga. The only other form of gaining adoration she knows is by violence, be it Touga's kitten, Tsuwabuki, or beating her three nameless underlings into submission.
It's not until the third arc that we learn about the Kaoru twins are in the middle of their parents separating. Their childhood is getting disrupted. Both of them are longing for time of connection and chance to hold onto each other. But Ohtori tells them that Miki can only adore Kozue as innocent and helpless. Kozue, like Nanami, gets told that her only chance to express affection to her male twin is by a sexualized, romanticized interaction. For two characters who're living through turbulent times, and need some stability in the other, twisting their chance of proximity is exactly the wrong answer.
Saionji really wants to remain friends with Touga he admires so much. (If not being in love with him.) Even more than Juri, he knows that the duel platform is just a set up, he swallows Touga's poison of "true friendship doesn't exist" again and again. The only chance of proximity to Touga is to disrespect others, demonstrate superiority over them, especially Anthy, as best proxy to a close male-male-dynamic. Saionji's only given path is to delude himself further and further.
Juri pushes so many people away because she's afraid her homosexuality will be revealed. Ohtori as a place does punish homosexuality severely, see Mikage's twisted memory, Ruka trying to converse Juri. This place convinces Juri over and over again that she's wrong for loving Shiori. But the truth is, Shiori is so much in love with Juri that she will resort to abuse her emotional power as long as it serves the purpose of Juri remaining close to her. What they would have needed is the chance to know that actually they're safe to be honest, at least to each other.
Utena is deeply grief-stricken by her parent's death. As a child the idea that everything will fade is terrifying. The only alternative she is shown is that Anthy's suffering is eternal. She wants to help. But the only path for being admired and adored is becoming a prince. The only agency to help and save others is by exercising the prince's power over someone. Akio becomes even crueler by trying to convince Utena that a girl's actual aspiration is romance (with a man). What else should she want? It also distract her from her genuine compassion for Anthy, and wishing for Anthy's happiness.

...Uhm...
How do I make this cut off
Demon Slayer NSFW Headcanons ..
Yeah. That.
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Douma Hashibara~
When he jerks off, he is fully leaned over. This man has his head on his knees and is panting. His fingers tighten and loosen as he thinks of different people he's screwed. Men, women, people he never could tell if they were men or women...
His favorite position is cowgirl. He loves having his partner above him (if AFAB) and playing with their nipples while they control a pace. If AMAB, he will ride. He opens pinning them down, kissing their hands while he goes at an inhumane pace.
Gyomei Himejima~
He doesn't jerk off unless his S/O has explicitly told him to. He'd rather ignore his aching cock than risk anything.
Oh but with his S/O.... This man's sex drive is low, but when it hits, they aren't walking they next day. He's not rough, he just goes for so *long*. He enjoys spooning while having sex, but will give in and let his S/O ride *rarely*. He's scared they'd go to fast and hurt themselves.
Muzan Kibutsuji~
Has jerked off twice his whole life. Twice. And when he did, he barely was able to orgasm. He now prefers to simply fuck whoever his current wife is.
This man and doggy style. Occasionally will lean over them and pull their hair to make their head bend back. He'll tell them how pathetic they are for letting a man as distasteful as himself pound them. He doesn't care if they orgasm. He is after his own. He will usually orgasm twice before satisfaction hits. His partner usually gets one due to this, but it isn't one they were able to enjoy fully.
Kagaya Ubuyashiki~
Doesn't jerk off. He is too weak. His wife helps any time he's in the mood, which is a lot based on how many kids he has...
Due to his condition, usually sticks to cowgirl with Amane. But before it god too bad, they experimented with everything, trying to find the most fun before he was rendered bed ridden. His favorite back then was lotus. They sometimes try to do it again, but usually he ends up too ill to continue.
Shinjuro Rengoku~
His wife's dead. All he does is jerk off. He usually is lead against a wall, very slowly and lazily rubbing his tip. He doesn't have the will to do much more.
When Ruka was alive, they did eagle the most. They both loved it. He could go many rounds and never slow. Ruka usually used the safeword to end it. He'd stop then and coo and coddle her. (He was happy then...)
Hotaru Haganezuka~
Doesn't engage in sex much. He's too busy. He does occasionally jerk off and when he does, he in a fetal position, muffling his noises. He wants no one to know he whimpers, so he keeps quiet despite living alone.
He's never slept with anyone except one MAN. Yes. Man. Kozo Kanamori. It was a one night stand that ended in Kozo developing feeling and Hotaru being too stupid to realize.

ppl who think ruka is oh so noble for selflessly mistreating juri and shiori so that they could finally break through their awkward repressed tension are so baffling to me. i personally don’t think having pure, selfless intentions excuses abject cruelty and the utter misery he put them through. he forced himself onto juri, publicly humiliated shiori… like yeah neither of them are beyond reproach, but at the very best, he’s a presumptuous misogynist who thinks that through his noble, princely interference, he can free juri from her futile suffering and anguish. which is similar to how utena (at her worst) treats anthy, but utena never forces herself onto anthy or humiliates her or mocks her or belittles her (etc etc) in her somewhat misguided quest to free her. ruka knows he has all the instruments of misogynistic violence at his disposal, and uses those tools with impunity to achieve his ends. yes, i have no doubt that he does possess a genuine depth of feeling for juri, and that even as he longs for her, he wishes for nothing more than her happiness. but dear god does he handle it poorly.

They went there. Deep.
Tumblr media
So as you know, Jere "Käärijä" Pöyhönen and Pekka Rinne played for the Urheilucast team on the pond hockey tournament Rukan Pipolätkä. They, along with another podcaster Antti Meriläinen, were special guests on an Urheilucast podcast episode recorded in Ruka and out today, Monday 22nd January 2024.
This is how it started:
UC host Esko: How's it been spooning with Peksi, he's large, a 195 cm tall ex-star-goaltender; isn't it quite a safe place to sleep?
Jere: It really is, and I must say that Peksi has protected me from all bad things and been a father figure all other ways, too.
Antti Meriläinen: I must say about your spooning: it must have been a surprise to Jere, too, that Peksi who has been rejecting (pucks) his whole career, never turned you down but welcomed you right away with open arms. There's something beautiful in that.
Pekka: Yes, and recording this episode in each other's lap, it's nice.
Esko: I like that when Peksi is the bottom one, holding us all, we are like in this nest built for us. We're like baby birds here, that Peksi feeds with his fatherly touch. We have the easy position here.
Pekka: This is indeed a kind of a big cup.
Antti: Yes. And here you can feel the way a bird can sometimes sit on a branch, if you know what I mean. It feels good.
***
And how it went on: Jere inviting Pekka to be a guest star on his OnlyFans next summer.

So it's the weekend and it's been months ever since the final battle with Muzan finally ended and everyone had survived and been treated from their injuries.
Kyojuro and You had retired from the Demon Slayer Corps Ever since the Mugen Train Incident and were able to help in the final battle and survive too. Now everyone is living their lives just how they all want too. You and Kyojuro get married months after the final battle and now you both have a beautiful daughter who looks just like him and her name is Ruka.
Kyojuro knows his daughter would carry his mother name well and Ever since Ruka has been born everyone comes to visit her. Since she's so cute and adorable. She loves to spend time with her Aunt Mitsuri and her Uncle Obanai
So One weekend Mitsuri took her to her house so they could spend time together. So there were you and Kyojuro cuddling in the futon as You get up but you feel Kyojuro Hugging you from behind. "My Love How about we cuddle a little more" Rengoku asks and You kiss his cheek "Ohhh Kyo I have to pick up Ruka from Mitsuri house Remember?" "I'll go pick up Ruka Okay Kyo" Y/N said getting up and fixing her Kimono since Kyojuro wanted to do something more than to just cuddle (yeah we know him too well). As Y/N walks through the village she goes by walking enjoying the evening walk as she sees people going to places to get their food, Children running around, and People talking happily. Y/N finally makes it to Mitsuri and Obanai house.
She knocks on the door *Knock Knock* "Obanai Can u get the door" Mitsuri said as Obanai responds "Sure Honey" as Y/N steps aside as Obanai opens the gate door. "Hello Obanai" "Ohh Hi Y/N it's you what a surprise Your here to pick up little Ruka Correct" Obanai responded "Yes I came to pick her up like we told Mitsuri" Y/N said happily.

Y/N smiles as Ruka looks at her Mom. "Mom" Ruka says happily as she runs and jumps into Y/N arms. Y/N picks her daughter up and hugs her. The two smile and laugh a little. "Oh Hi Sweetie Did you have fun with Aunt Mitsuri" Y/N said as she saw Ruka beautiful eyes of joy. "Yess Mom I had so much fun I got play with Uncle Obanai snake Kabaramaru and Auntie Mitsuri taught me how to make Mochi" Ruka said happily. "Your Daughter is a sweetheart and she's so adorable Y/N she is good at helping me cook" Mitsuri said smiling.
"Awww Well I'm happy you had fun with your Aunt Mitsuri and Uncle Obanai" Y/N said Hugging Ruka more. "Mommy Where is Dad at?" Ruka asked "Ohh he is at home waiting for us" Y/N said as they all walked to the gate to head home. Mitsuri hugged her back "Ohh I'll visit you soon Ruka Okay" Mitsuri said as Ruka agreed and then hugged her Uncle Obanai. "Bye Uncle Obanai" Ruka said as Obanai picked her up and hugged her. Ruka even touched Kabaramaru too as the snake nuzzle her cheek. "Bye Ruka Next time you come by we will play more with Kabaramaru Okay" as he hugged her again. "Oh Ok Uncle Obanai" She said as Obanai set her down and ran up to Y/N and hold her mother hand.
"Bye Mitsuri it was great to see you and Obanai and thanks for having fun with Ruka. See you two soon again" Y/N said as Mitsuri hugged her and Y/N handshaked Obanai hand goodbye. Then Y/N holds Ruka hands as they wave goodbye to Obanai and Mitsuri. As the two started to walk home. As Y/N and Ruka walked home Y/N smiles feeling so happy to have the life they always desired. Married to Kyojuro Rengoku, Having a child that resembles more like him, and finally able to live their lives with peace and happiness.
Y/N smiles more as she and Ruka walk. "Did you enjoy the weekend with Auntie Mitsuri and Uncle Obanai?" Y/N asked Ruka. " Yes Mommy it was so much fun I love playing with uncle Obanai and Cooking with Auntie Mitsuri" Ruka said smiling. " Aww I'm happy you enjoyed spending time with them Sweetie" Y/N said as they kept walking. "Mommy I have a question" Ruka asked "Ohh Yes Go ahead Sweetie" Y/N responded to her. "So is it true that Daddy Got his hair color from eating too much shrimp tempura?" Ruka asked happily. "Ohhh Ruka Who told you that" Y/N asked
She found it funny what Ruka asked her. "Auntie Mitsuri said that and told me about it Mommy" Ruka Said smiling more. "Ohh Mitsuri" Y/N said in her head giggling. "So I'm starting to get why I have my hair and eyes like Daddy" Ruka asked. "What do you mean Ruka" Y/N asked her. alright, while I work on deciding who to include in the bracket (+ other things), here are all the utena submissions I got. only one shall survive to the actual bracket. I could make a mini-bracket, since there are 8 different characters, but I don't really feel like it. therefore,
propaganda below (note - some of these characters had multiple submissions, so if they are eliminated here, the rest of their propaganda will be released afterwards):
Tumblr media
shiori: You wouldn't really vote against Shiori, would you? 🥺 Even if she knows you must hate her, don't you want to mend your relationship? 🥺 When she's depending on you with all her heart? 🥺 She knows what she wants this time, really; this must be it. She's winning, right?
Tumblr media
touga: Victim of CSA forced to perform an impossible gender expectation that is unhealthy for him and will ultimately kill him(metaphorically or literally depending on how you view him in Adolescence). Betraying the only people in your life that may have ever seen even a sliver of vulnerability from you and manipulating them for both your own goals and playing your role as a pawn in Akio's fucked up game. Honestly? It's about being forced into a position of inferiority and a feeling of being used and using that vitriol to hurt and manipulate others to gain back that sense of power no matter how superficial. Just kinda choosing to live in your coffin because the idea of anything else is so foreign that it's terrifying and feels like a death in itself and to make that choice would mean abandoning everything youve done to adapt to the current system.
Tumblr media
kanae: shes soooo rosebride. shes so desperate for the princess role which she technically has achieved but which she'll never actually have. the way she's compelled to blame anthy. ough
Tumblr media
idk who this is but it's not mamiya guys right. mamiya has purple hair and he set the fire and both of us are alive and we will obtain eternity together right guys. right: hes such a rose bride. literally. but to me hes his own kind of rose bride. at least before. yknow
Tumblr media
juri: Underrated as Rose Bride to Ruka. Forced to swallow down her emotions because he decided he knew what's good for her.
Tumblr media
saionji: he needs a W. but also he's kind of a rose bride in relation to touga specifically--being manipulated by him to continue playing the role he's been given
Tumblr media
nanami: oh you know ;) (ridiculously loyal little sister being manipulated by her older brother)
Tumblr media
utena: 39 episode run of Akio trying to rose bride her

Is Juri's problem really idealizing Shiori in some way? The prevailing interpretation I've seen is that Juri should accept she fell for a snake so she can remove Shiori from the pedestal of her love. Incidentally Ruka also shares this opinion. I disagree and I'm here to be a contrarian about it!
A nonzero number of takes base their "Juri idealizes Shiori" conclusion on the "innocently cruel" line, the interpretation being she's percieving Shiori's personality as sweet and innocent. But that's not what the line is getting at. Juri's emphasis here is not innocence as a synonym for purity, it's innocence as a synonym for ignorance and naivety. Both Utena and Shiori are "innocent" because they are unable to anticipate the queer dynamic, the deviant lesbian desire, that Juri is operating from, and "cruel" because, in their misunderstanding, they step on Juri's toes in unintentional ways.
Even though we, the audience, know in retrospect that Shiori meant to fuck Juri up, the exact way she did it was a freak accident, and at this point in the story she has no idea that she managed to hurt her. Shiori is operating from a different understanding, one that assumes Juri's absolute conformity to and supremacy in heteronormative gender roles. Shiori's whole mission is proving her value over Juri on that axis, obviously because as a suppressed homosexual she feels insecure about her continuing obsession with Juri. She assumes "beating Juri" at attracting men will balance the scales-- render Juri's image less appealing, and hers more. And of course that would hurt Juri, who must value her success with boys so much. That lack of awareness is what Juri is referring to, and she's right here actually, about both Shiori and Utena-- they are unable to conceptualize desire for other women as a potential outcome, and in part it's because of this that they end up harming themselves and others.
Moreover the "innocently cruel" line does not imply that Juri thinks Shiori is an innocent person because, if anything, Juri does nothing but doubt Shiori throughout the series.
At no point does Juri say anything positive about Shiori's personality or their friendship. She is unable to frame her ex-bestie's existence outside of the pain she's caused her. The narrative purposefully never tells us why she fell in love with her in the first place, or what their friendship was like. We don't know why she chose Shiori specifically, and that's part of the mystique of Juri's feelings and of their relationship, that the audience will never see who Shiori is outside of Juri's heartbreak. She could have a vibrant personality, but it's thoroughly obscured by the opacity of Juri's despair, and Ohtori 's miasma. Not to mention Shiori's own internalized homophobia, compulsory heterosexuality, and chosen constructed persona-- just like a lot of other bitches trapped in Ohtori. This is what the place does, it chews up queer teenagers and doesn't spit them out so much as it arranges them neatly into a series of possible stage roles.
Juri's current image of Shiori is of a witch. It's possible she used to think of her as a princess, sure, but then she inverted the role once Shiori acted out. If anybody's idolizing anybody, it's Shiori. She is the master of rendering other people into shining beacons!
I have more thoughts forming on how Juri's "casting" of Shiori plays out through her final duel (does Shiori's mistreatment by Ruka briefly return her to her role as a princess to Juri's gallant prince-- but this proves unsustainable or undesirable, because princehood makes her too vulnerable or liable to corruption?) but they're half-baked at this time.
I do think though that Juri's "miracle" might be "making [Shiori] understand [her] feelings" literally-- not necessarily having Shiori return them (though that idea looms over her including in her understanding of what a man could do in her place, thanks to Ruka for the reminder). The miracle may be finding some way for Shiori and others to understand who Juri actually is without making herself vulnerable or diminishing the ease with which she moves through the world. She doesn't want to get stabbed with those swords of hatred. So many people don't seem to understand her, yet Juri is terrified of embodying anything other than an impenetrable image of excellence...! Girl watch out!! You're just embodying the reason why Shiori resents you in the first place!!! Those swords are coming at you no matter what!!!

Mikage: Boy of the Black Rose
I've long struggled to write about Mikage, who I find to be an intriguing yet elusive character. or rather, his character is understandable--his motives and feelings are communicated clearly enough--but his narrative is one of the most inexplicable in RGU. thinking it over tonight, I put my finger on one aspect of the Black Rose arc which I previously didn't know how to approach: specifically, Mikage's relationship with the Boys of the Black Rose.
the boys act as a kind of collective character, a mass of faceless people who whisper in dark corners. since RGU is about social reality, it often uses extras to deliver exposition or set the mood. the Shadow Girls are meta characters, existing somewhat outside the narrative, but regular schoolgirls at Ohtori can serve a similar purpose. they might demonstrate that Touga and Saionji are considered the hottest boys in school, or gossip about Ruka and Shiori's recent breakup.
the Boys of the Black Rose are slightly different, maybe a little closer to the Shadow Girls. rather than acting as bit characters in the larger world of Ohtori campus, I believe their existence is contigent on Mikage. while this could be put in various ways, in the most straightforward terms, the writers created them to help reflect on Mikage's character.
only one Black Rose Boy is given a face: the first one Mikage (Nemuro) talks to. when Mikage asks not to be called "professor," since they are the same age, the boy replies:
Tumblr media
obviously, RGU relies on making its main characters visually distinct from "normal people." Wakaba calls them "special" and resents them. Utena is popular for her specialness, well-liked; in contrast, Mikage is an outcast for his. for a person to be special or a genius, there must be others for them to stand in opposition to. Mikage is set apart from his peers by his pink hair, by his unique uniform, and by being a professor.
after Mikage is introduced to his new work, the boys begin to gossip about him, saying he knows nothing about what's really going on at Ohtori. towards the end of this conversation, there's a shot of Mikage, and then he actually replies from the future to the gossip they were spreading about him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is Mikage's eternal reality: his recollection of the past. even during the "present" of Utena's narrative, he is still walking through Nemuro Memorial Hall, which is why it's still standing, unburned. the Boys of the Black Rose that the audience sees are filtered through Mikage's memory; whether or not the boys really said these things about him is ambigous. it's possible, but the important fact is that Mikage believes they did.
this transpersonal mirroring keeps Mikage trapped, unchanging. he feels himself defined as unable to connect with others, so he keeps away from them. this becomes a self-perpetuating cycle, leaving Mikage a total outcast.
even outcasts, however, are members of society. the Boys of the Black Rose actually have more in common with Mikage than the average Ohtori student. they're all scientists working on the same project. they have much of his coldness, sense of superiority, and intellectualism. the main difference is that they're the in-group.
while Mikage believes himself to be emotionless, it's made clear that his social isolation hurts him. he doesn't want to be set apart, but he doesn't know how to break through the barrier between him and others. it's very easy to do a queer reading of the character, given the way this is conveyed to the audience.
Tumblr media
Mikage's fixation on Tokiko and Mamiya is easier to undestand with all this in mind. the world he was living in, occupied by the Boys of the Black Rose, was a cold and alienated one. in contrast, Tokiko has genuine passion, caring for her brother deeply. Tokiko's tears move Mikage, allowing his own buried emotions to break through the surface. but she also reinforces his social isolation; he is equally as hurt by her as he is drawn to her.
Tumblr media
this is part of why Mikage is so determined to "defeat" Tokiko; she offered him hope of connection, but he was never able to "win" her, as men so often try to do with women.
Mamiya is something else altogether; a boy, like Mikage and the Black Rose Boys, but altogether different. warm, friendly to Mikage, not intimidated by his intelligence or reputation, and insightful. in a show full of characters obsessed with holding on (to the past, to a person, to their self-image), Mamiya is the only one who can see the wisdom in letting go.
Tumblr media
Mikage at first is open to Mamiya's words, preparing to call off their quest for eternal life. but like every character who threatens the system in RGU, he is faced with Akio. in a prototype of the later "End of the World" sequences, Mikage comes across the kissing Tokiko and Akio. this proves to be too much for him; there are some things he can't afford to lose.
the scene has significance to Mikage far beyond disappointment in love. he wanted to create a family with Tokiko and Mamiya; marriage to Tokiko would tie them together "forever." if he could be by Tokiko's side as they lost Mamiya, then at least he wouldn't be alone after his death. but if he's only Tokiko's coworker, when their work is done, he's back to being a computer.
Tumblr media
in desperation, Mikage plays into Akio's hands. under contract, he sacrifices the Boys of the Black Rose and burns down the hall that bears his name. when justifying himself to Tokiko, he claims that this act will allow them to attain eternity. in the events of the series, he's still at it: installing Mamiya as the Rose Bride will, after all, make him eternal, even though it's the very kind of eternity Mamiya wanted nothing to do with.
Mikage retreats into delusions on feeling the sting of Tokiko's rejection. though he is the one who betrayed her, he turns it around and feels betrayed himself. going even further, he casts Mamiya as the one who set the fire.
the Boys of the Black Rose are also used to emphasize his inability to face his own actions. throughout the arc, the boys are seen pushing coffins around. however, in episode 23, Mikage takes their place right before he is forced to face the truth about himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
at the end of the arc, Miki claims that no one was hurt in the the fire, contradicting the previous story of Nemuro Memorial Hall. this possibly indicates that the murders are a figment of Mikage's imagination--the older Tokiko doesn't seem to react to him as if he's a murderer. more than anything, he seems guilty of self-denial and retreat from reality. Tokiko went on to accept Mamiya's death and even mourned for Mikage, while he ignored her in favor of his memories. the fact that he does not recognize her feelings is another aspect of his tragedy.
Mikage, through his fruitless revolution, loses the very things he always wanted. he attempts to throw away his past self, the cocoon of Nemuro hatching into the butterfly that is Mikage. with it, he burns away the boys who rejected him, who embodied the cold world he used to live in. he uses their sacrifice to enshrine Mamiya, idealizing him as the perfect companion. but as Ikuhara said, he was doomed to fail from the start:
Those who reject that place are, conversely, rejected by it as well. This is the nature of systems: the moment you reject them, you are forced to realize that they’re the very ground you’re standing on. Mikage noticed the trick behind the system, and he hurriedly attempted revisions. But the adult who’d created the system just said “Let’s not,” and unilaterally brought the curtain down.
the "trick within the system," is, I think, the fact that it's socially constructed. Mikage believed that on realizing this, he could simply remake the world as he wanted. he was allowed to do so for a time, when it was useful. when he ceased to be useful, he was dispatched with, because while he had operated within the system, he was not in control of it. and beneath his delusions, there was still a reality.
Tumblr media
Mikage is the true Boy of the Black Rose: the true ghost, the true sacrifice, living in the desiccated world of a preserved flower. throughout the arc, he takes possession of Ohtori students who suffer from the same afflictions as him, and every time Utena defeats one of his duelists, another part of him is exorcised--another Black Rose Boy burned away. in the end, the only thing left of him is the ruin of Nemuro Memorial Hall, shown briefly in the final episode. he graduates at Ohtori, but only after losing absolutely everything. that seems to be the only way to step into adulthood: naked and shivering, like the day we are born.

Vampire knight x male reader
So context
Reader has no like relationship with the other vampires
Yuuki is just human
And I removed all the incest shit from it
I'm rewriting my teenage fic series and making it make sense and not cringe lol
🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷
(name)s memories were always hazy, like it was just beyond a curtain.
(Name) looked confused as he stood in a courtyard, he was just with Ichigo walking to class... How did he get here?
Crouching (name) pulled out (candy) from his pocket and began snacking on it, He was told if he got separated to just wait till he was collected by the others. (Name) never really ventured around the school, often he stuck close to the others as they herded him away from anything they deemed unworthy. (Name) was curious as he glanced around his surroundings and took in the landscape before wandering to a fountain and remembered a human thing Senri taught him and pulled a coin from his pocket and chucked it in said fountain.
Now what?
(Name) stared at the fountain confused as he waited for something to happen but nothing did.
Dang he wished something did happen, humans were weird.
"There you are!" (Name) perked up and saw Aido said happily as Kain followed behind "you know Lord Kaname doesn't want you wandering" Aido said fondly, the sleepy omega clinging to Kain for warmth and Aido playfully pouted as they returned back to the others who looked relived at (name)s return "you worried us" Kaname chastised softly to the other who just stared off "we warned you it's not good to wander off, what if something happened?" (Name) just fidgeted slightly and Kaname sighed "if it happens again you will be punished" not like how he would Aido, the blond alpha usually doing things he very much shouldn't be doing and causing problems for others.
No, (name) was actually the least of Kaname worries in that aspect and usually his punishments were taking away things like his snacks and such, nothing crazy serious but (name) usually sulked about it.
(Name) pouted but let Kaname lead him away, the brunette Alpha keeping a hand on (name)s back as they went to class.
Omegas were extremely far in-between, male omegas were a rarity like no other and even more so amongst vampires, a male Omega vampire had a special ability; their pups would always be pure bloods no matter what.
Though there wasn't enough male omegas in the vampire community to test the theory, (name) was the first in many generations and he wasn't exactly Dam materials Ruka noted to herself as (name) passed out infront of his work.
She couldn't blame him though, they didn't need to be here but Lord Kaname wanted a better relationship with humans so they had to be. Lord Kaname was always protective of (name), keeping him close.
The night class tended to (name) as they would lord Kaname though the Omega didn't seem to notice, more interested in sleep and occasionally sneaking into their rooms because the Omega wanted contact.
(Name) sat beside Aido and Kain during the rest of class as the two blonds kept the sleepy vampire awake in hopes he would retain some information.
"You can nap when we return to the dorms" Kain said to (name) who pouted but tried to pay attention to the class but was not succeeding in the slightest.
Kaname smiled softly at (name) who offered him various sweets, an adorable sense of determination to find a suitable snack as Kaname gently declined his treats as class ended, The sound of screaming girls so late-- or early depending on who you asked was shrill and unpleasant to (name); Kaname keeping him close and away from the hands of the day class students.
Yuuki never knew what to do with (name).
Her dad told her about (name), the Omega was found alone with no memories and taken in by Rukas family but he never went into detail on why (name) was so important, smiling at his daughter with a hint of sadness "he gets to choose what he wants in life... I don't think he's gotten that before this"
(Name) perked up as he saw Yuuki, he enjoyed her company as she was often quite kind to the sleepy vampire and even taught him how to knit, the Omega making blankets after that for his nest.
"Hello (name)--Stay back-- how are you?" Yuuki struggled to keep the fans away as the night class kept a v e r y close eye on the Omega who wandered towards her "Shiki is taking me to get treats..." (Name) whispered slowly before looking at the fans "(name) come now, he have to get to the dorms" Ichigo called out and (name) bid Yuuki goodbye before wandering back to the others.
Though he didn't get far.
A day student reached out and grabbed (name), pulling hard enough to rip his uniform and then hell nearly broke loose.
(Name) was pushed behind Kain and checked on by the other night students as a gun fired, Zero finally making his appearance and glaring down the startled day students "you all have somewhere to be, so fucking get to it or I swear to god I'm going to make your lives miserable" zero seethed out and the day students went quiet for a moment before complaining to the white haired teen.
(Name)s vision was blurry, he vaguely remembers getting lifted before things faded out.
(Name) woke in his bed, soft blankets and familiar scents as he slowly sat up and stretched as Kaname entered the room, holding a glass filled with red liquid "you haven't been eating, you know you need the strength so close to your heat"
(Name)s room was shrouded in darkness as he had blankets over his shoulders "drink" Kaname instructs the Omega who took the glass "... I lost my pills... Yuuki was going to help me look" (name) whispered as he took a sip, though the liquid tasted closer to cranberry and battery acid his hunger was satisfied even slightly "why didn't you say anything?" Kaname interrogates lightly and (name) shrugged "forgot... I'm sorry..."
Kaname gently traced (name)s cheek and sighed, he couldn't be to mad at (name).
"The sweets you consume won't satiate you, if you lose them again tell me" Kaname said to the Omega be was set on making his mate, (name) nodding and leaned into his touch as he always did.
(Name) craved contact from the others, a sleepy distant expression painting his face.
The 18 year old was so tired, he never knew why though.
"You have tomorrow off, I'll have new pills for you then" Kaname said and gently pushed (name) into bed "sleep" his voice gentle but firm as he left the room, (name) watching him leave before falling asleep.

How would you imagine if the pillars were the parents/siblings/other family members instead of what we have rn
imagine seeing Kanroji's dad opening his eyes in battle and you see he has flower breathing final form eyes this whole time under those close eyes 💀
I think Tengen's brother and Kyogo would have beef ngl
Tumblr media
Water Pillar Tsutako: She's avenging her little brother Giyuu and his annoying best friend Sabito. Best friend of the Kochous. Flame Pillar Shinjuro: Ruka is alive and well and she keeps him from falling into the despair of perfectionism. Kyojuro is his Tsuguko. Love Pillar the Kanrojis: They couldn't stand the idea of their daughter fighting alone. Turns out Love Breath is strongest among married couples! Snake Pillar Cousin Iguro: She's got to avenge her family who all died because of a demon! Also she has a stupid cousin who is living a peaceful life somewhere. Also, Pillars make lots of money and that motivated her. Mist Pillar Daddy Tokitou: Amane visited long before anybody got sick. He fights to protect his wife and twin children. Sound Pillar Uzui Bro: He only joined so he could kill his target, Shinazugawa Kyogo. He retires after that and his sister-in-law Hinatsuru takes over the position. Sound Pillar Shinazugawa Kyogo: is dead. His son who can't use Breath but can eat demons replaces him. Rock Pillar Sayo: Turns out she was a very, very strong 4-year-old. She gets scared having to fight but the monk who raised her supports her. The Kanroji Couple makes sure to introduce her to their daughter, who she looks up to like her own Oneesama. Insect Pillar Kanae: Is basically the same. But she uses poison! Yay!

Can you imagine Pet AU Rengoku having alcohol related trauma since canon him most likely has it.
Humans wanting get his father intoxicated to use him properly to make him obey better and to make sure he doesn't remember much since they're a pretty pricey breed so they don't want one getting too mental and having affects on their reproduction. So Kyojurou mostly ever seeing and interacting with the intoxicated father, owners having to increase the amount when Ruka dies so he's still up to use...
I'm just thinking current Kyojurou seeing and/or smelling his owner consuming alcohol willingly and how sick it must make him.
Oooooh, that's a delightful idea!!! I love it!! OwO Various drunk owners being cruel would have been the "obvious" option to me, but involving Shinjurou like this is brilliantly cruel.
I'm pretty sure in canon, demons aren't affected by alcohol, but for this, hmm... maybe there are demon-specific substances that have a similar effect? Like how catnip gets compared to weed? Or perhaps demons just have more adaptable digestive systems in this Au, similar to how they can tolerate non-human meat??

Witches in Utena are extremely elusive figures, contrasted and scapegoated by the 'Prince'.
By context, all of the Black Rose Duelists (except for maybe Mikage*?) are witches, existing only in relation as the shadows of their princes. Of course, by the nature of duelists, they are also princes, though noticeably more pitiable and weaker than the student council. Ms. Himemiya, the notable witch herself, is at her most active, vindictive, and empathetic during this arc, helping push and break the other black rose duelists.
Kozue and Shiori are notable even within this array, having a strong presence in the first and third set of duels, and notable for having 'enchanted' their princes through manipulation, leading to an easy understanding of their 'witchiness' in the fandom and the audience. But having done so successfully, they become immortalized as their princes' princesses, who are unwilling to scapegoat the girls. Is this a victory? In the 3rd set of duels the pair return as Rose Brides, having established a solid foothold within the realm of women, either by maintaining an indispensable job (Kozue as Miki's adult counterpart, a bride), or by subsuming her entire character into getting a noble prince to take her (Shiori in her relationship with Ruka, a princess, loyal and bitter to the end).
The other notable witch in the cast is Nanami, Kiryuu Touga's younger sister, and known darling terror of the school. Her abrasive and cold-faced attitude easily places her as the antagonistic jealous counterpart to Himemiya, but this abrasiveness is shortly subsumed. Touga makes Nanami a duelist, and soon after abdicates his responsibilities, leaving Nanami as the Student Council President Pro Tempore for the rest of the series (or until Nanami's last duel - it is her decision, Touga never returns, and the Student Council is never disbanded). Until said last duel, Nanami joins Miki and Juri in the maintenance of the student council theater, theatrically musing on the stabbings and workings of the arena. It takes the events of "Her Tragedy" and "The Romance of the Dancing Girls" to shake her out of her cyclical anxieties, as the growing pains of adulthood snap the idling dreams of princes into perspective; Nanami is Touga's witch, his excuse, shadow, and scapegoat - the thing he uses to keep the other girls at bay, the thing that will never be respected or loved in its anger. The reprieve of a witches power, adult intimidation and sensuality, is only cold misunderstanding to her peers.
Himemiya is Akio's witch, the younger sister he uses to terrorize his fiancee and students, who is terrorized in turn by everyone else in the school.
In lieu of his now-implied-dead fiancee, Akio has no qualms turning Anthy and Utena against each other, functionally leaving them as each others witches. The victory of one is the disappearence of another, and so on.
Though disappearing is its own sort of victory, anyways.
*Mikage is technically Utena's shadow, being the negative chosen one, but due to the nature of princes, he maintains his position by 'Princessing' Utena/Tokiko/Mamiya and scapegoating the other researchers (the ghosts of Nemuro Memorial Hall). The closest Utena has to a proper black rose counter part are Anthy/Tatsuya/Wakaba, who face the emptiness of her idealism.
