Noritoshi spews his true feelings when you're upset with him. Similar to a very eager puppy trying to regain your favor by any means...... but realizes what he says and blames you for turning him into a fool. Another downside for him is that he won't take his words back in fear of you getting the wrong idea.

You are so good at fix-it ff and I was doing nothing while my professor was talking about english stuff and??? if Madam Yu was not a bitch to WWX and when she puts them on the boat she had said “You must protect each other and together you must protect Yanli. Never forget that. You are all that is left of Lotus Pier. You are all that is left of us.” do you think would change the story by a lot? How much do you think I could fix with that?? (Did you get enough sleep, little one?) -🐝

Ah, thank you, they’re a lot of fun to think about!  (And...ummm...😅 NoIdidnot)

Hmmmm...there would be 2 ways I could see the story being different.

1) Madam Yu is having a realization in this crisis moment that WWX is a child she has been taking things out on unfairly. JC is shocked, WWX is stunned and disbelieving, and it makes the loss even that much more painful for both of them because they see what could have been--the full extent of what they’re losing. I don’t think this way fixes or even changes much, as it just solidifies to WWX that he needs to protect them because it stems from an ingrained problem of self worth he’s suffered his whole life. The damage to their relationship to themselves and each other has been done. I think it might make the grief sharper, but I’m not sure it changes their decisions from that point on, ultimately--it might even make them all more self-sacrificing for each other (YIKES!) To me, this is an extra angst point added onto canon, rather than a fix it ;-;

2) This is a Madam Yu that has miraculously gotten therapy/done some introspection/gotten over her issues sometime early on in her knowing WWX and raising the kids. She has not raised JC to feel inferior/like he has to constantly compete with WWX for his father’s affection. She is able to have reasoned conversations with her husband and children, and hasn’t driven a wedge between her and everyone. Lotus Pier is happy and she sees WWX as her adopted child, as JFM does. JFM still might not love her (or he might have grown to! Up to you), but they are able to have a cordial, maybe even friendly marriage where they work together to run things. So much can be different, here!

JFM’s leadership style might be different, if he feels that he can trust his wife/take her advice on things (I get the feeling that he sort of ignores her opinion because he finds her unreasonable; thanks, ‘super healthy’ communication styles/really mature relationships). He might be quicker to stand up to the Wen’s trying to demand hostages for indoctrination because she would be--who knows what that would change?

To this point, the 2 might have been able to have more frequent and candid discussions about contingency plans of the Wens going apeshit and so their defenses might be better? Canon!JFM is very conflict avoidant and sort of ‘I don’t want to have to deal with this’, so maybe there would be less of that if they were more of a team. It’s possible that Lotus Pier might not have fallen at all, as Madam Yu seems ruthlessly pragmatic to me and the minute things started to get shifty would probably have said ‘Fuck this, we need a game plan if they decide to come after us.’

It will affect the children’s relationships--we see JC&WWX at some of their most fraught, in canon, but they still manage to be brothers and have fun and relate to one another. If this were encouraged, the 3 sibs would be absolutely inseparable, Yanli would probably have a more healthy sense of self because she wasn’t forced to be the only one giving out love in an equal and affectionate manner and I think JC and WWX would be known as a force to be reckoned with that might rival the Twin Jades. Madam Yu is a badass, and if she focused her energy on teaching the kids what she knew and ensuring their success instead of constantly putting them down and trying to get in the way of their cohesion, she could teach them so many things. 

If Lotus Pier doesn’t fall--LOTS IS DIFFERENT! You have a whole other canon branch of things you can play with and change at your will because this really changes the political landscape going forward!

If Lotus Pier still falls--JC does not do his pseudo-blame WWX thing. They are all grieving their parents together, and maybe still go into the numb grief spiral. WWX might still feel compelled to try to fix things/go out, but JC does not wander away. You could have them all come up with a plan together, OR you could have WWX get captured because he’s the one going out (!!! changes a lot!)

No one has to lose their core if they communicate better. Or someone could because of grief, if you still want demonic cultivation to still be a thing.

Basically, you could save a lot or you could do different damage, but you wanted a fix-it, so I would say--Best case scenario!;

Happy fam where JFM and YZY love each other. Either they send the kids off to go to the Wens and set up defenses when they come back saying ‘wow, they are bad news bears’ OR they say ‘Actually, uh, no, fuck you’ and set up hella defenses against attack. This rebuff of the Wens gets everyone’s attention that ‘oh SHIT. First the Cloud Recesses and now this? They are gonna keep doing this! They really are trying to take over!! SHIT!’ Now you’ve jumpstarted an early Sunshot Campaign with more soldiers against the Wen because, hello, the Jiang are all still here! You could still have JGY do his stabby shit with WRH, or you could find a different way to kill him off (we have to consider that he still has the Yin Iron and is immensely powerful--we need a way to stop him that doesn’t involve our boy inventing his own branch of demonic cultivation). Our heroes prevail! We have more adults on the scene to look at JGS’s greedy, grabby hands and go, “Hey dude, what the fuck do you think you’re doing?” HAPPY!
