The Greater Experiment - art by Jetfreak-7
Featuring a significant departure from her basic frame, the Excelsior II Class is the culmination of nearly a century of field experience and continuous improvement. By all accounts a radical redesign, she still retains the spirit of being an adaptable heavy cruiser. Well suited to undertaking general Starfleet duties of exploration and defense.
The class pathfinder USS Excelsior (NCC-42037) is seen here navigating the Ghesania System, once the furthest area ever traversed by a Federation vessel. Today is a routine test flight however, as she monitors the performance of her refurbished BL-III Series nacelles. A high endurance powerplant that has become her definitive nacelle design.

Starship USS Enterprise-B
The Enterprise-B probably isn't the most famous Enterprise... but it's still a worthy addition to the line.

The First Battle of Chin'Toka
This looks impressive, but having all your ships bunched up like that just makes them easier targets.

"New Warp Scale"
While "The Great Experiment" of the USS Excelsior was mostly a failure in terms of the trailblazing transwarp drive, leaps and bounds were made in warp field dynamics and thresholds of speed at conventional warp were broken. These new heights reached by cochranes of subspace variance would revolutionize the warp factor scale.
