Do you ever think about the fact that Gortash tadpoled his parents personally? Because I do

That’s not the action of a man who is “over it”. That’s the action of someone extremely hurt. Not only needing to punish them by turning them into puppets, but by delivering that punishment personally.

Do you think he went there, trying to start a conversation about what they did to him? Wanting to hear some sort of apology, despite himself, because that would mean they loved him, and underneath it all he’s just a boy wanting his parents to love him so badly that he showed up there himself?

And they just shrugged, not a single ounce of regret coming out?

Do you think about him holding them down, threatening them, angry, inserting the tadpole while they cried, just like he cried, but just like they ignored him back then, he ignores them now?

Do you think about the fact that if maybe, maybe, they had been sorry, he might have seen regret in action, getting that parental love he so obviously craved, and he might have been sorry for what he did to Karlach?

Crazy to me how everytime I see one of those “making Gortash more like how he’s described” posts on TikTok the solution is to make his face less round.

It’s just an interesting take to see. Same way as when people mod the game to make Astarion and Gale look younger, etc.

I feel like a lot of people are afraid to admit that traits outside of the Tumblr sexyman/twink anime boy trope are acceptable for characters/people to have and still be considered likable.

Getting sick of old man erasure to make characters more digestible and conventional for the masses.
