This is engines 1-6. This is all Sodor High School AU canon btw.

Thomas Gail:

Freshman. Tiny gremlin child. Full of energy and straight up refuses to shut the fuck up. No, he physically can't shut the fuck up. Prankster #1. Much like James, he's very over the top, but instead of his looks, I mean his pranks. Like, this little bitch wrote a whOLE ASS FUCKING MUSICAL for an APRIL FOOL'S PRANK. FOR REAL. (I'll make a post about that whole mess, it's the best fucking thing) Protects Percy with his l i f e.

Edward Belwett:

Senior. Braincell #1 of 2 of the entire Steam Team. Extremely farsighted but simply does not realise that it's a problem. Poor guy just thinks everyone sees the world like he does. (I dare you to try and change my fucking mind, also @zellezel, I'm stealing this, thank you very much) The caring dad friend and the team's designated therapist. Guy's got Rapunzel hair (as in floor length) and only James is allowed to touch it. Why? Let's just say the story involves fire. If you manage to piss him off, good fucking luck. Trans king.

Henry Holt:

Junior. Braincell #2 of 2 of the Steam Team. Very kind, gentle and anxious introvert. Absolutely fucked mentally AND physically (thank his mother- or rather birthgiver for that one) While he is a pacifist, he's known for having lost his cool a grand total of 2 times. (One of these involved Edward) Legend has it he threw a chair once. No one knows the truth though, except for the witnesses. I'd advise everyone to just stay on his good side for their own sake.

Gordon Rask:

Junior. HOO BOI, man be f u c k e d beyond belief. 6th of 8 siblings, parents are divorced, dad's an alcoholic, lord knows where mom went ("no hard feelings tho, good for her" says our local mess of a highschool junior), most of his siblings already booked it, life really went: "Welp- What could go wrong? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" *dumps entire content of the Trauma Truck™ on this one guy*. So damn jealous of Scott and thinks or rather hopes that people don't notice. They notice, don't worry. ("I do the exact same thing he does and he gets all the recognition?! What about me?? What am I doing wrong?!") No wonder he's got such a bad temper.

James Bragg:

(This may or may not be me projecting my own issues onto this bitch) Sophomore. Almost homeless, as in his house, or rather what's left of it, could collapse literally any minute- (which it does at one point-) he tries to cover up his misery in public by acting like he's a vain, self-absorbed little sassy twink, and it seems to do the job. For now at least. When he's in private or alone with someone (aHeM, Gordon-) he's a m e s s in pretty much any way you can think of.

Percy Klein:

Freshman. Thomas' adopted brother and tries to be a voice of reason when Thomas is about to do something stupid (or illegal cuz Thomas w o u l d). Normally fails to stop his brother from committing his silly acts of mischief but hey, at least he's trying. Precious baby. If you somehow manage to anger him, he'll cuss you out in fluent German. Then it's over for you. He might as well be summoning a demon for all I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (<- this coming from someone who studies german. I hate that fucking nightmare of a language.)

Ships? OH HELL YEAH!

To preface, these are just my preferences. If you ship something else, go ahead. As long as it's not like- Inc*st, p*dop*ilia, you know- disgusting shit. Or anything that involves Spencer. This is a Spencer hate blog. ANYWAY

Henry X Edward:

yes yeS YES Y E S- Yea this is my OTP, I fucking love these two, they are my life force and I want them to be my dads- in my mind it's the "slightly more social introvert X anxious mess of an introvert" dynamic and it's the cutest fucking thing. Edward confessed first, on Valentine's day! :D

Gordon X James:

Two fucked up guys looked at one another one day and thought "I could… try to fix him?". That's literally it and I love them. Like they're both absolutely fucked up to no end so they're really the only ones who understand the other's struggles and could help without making shit even worse. Love that they both have someone there for them :D.

Thomas and Percy are brothers in this AU ^^ I know I said it before but I'll say it again.

TW: Death, blood (represented), mentions of murder and suicide

I've been doing some thinking recently, mainly about the absolute fuckton of spirits around Sodor and how they even exist and stuff. So I decided to do this post about that in the middle of the night!

-So how (or rather why) do spirits exist in this universe?

The answer is rather simple, at least to me: those who die before their time's up for whatever reason (let that be murder, an accident, or """"""science"""""", which is literally the same as murder but felt like I should mention it-) come back to the island as spirits, normally until they were supposed to die of natural causes. Mind you, Wingmen live many times longer than us, regular humans, so this could be centuries, maybe even millenia! When a spirit reaches this set date, they can choose to go on to the afterlife or stay in the mortal world. Most choose to move on, but there are those who stayed.

-What do these spirits look like?

There is no set "look" for a spirit, as their premature death dictates their appearance. For instance, Proteus and Godred (Also Timothy and Rusty's ghost engine, but I haven't drawn them yet lol-)

No, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you, Proteus is literally just a floating head. I won't go too much into detail about his death, as that's a big fat spoiler, but to summarize: he was cut up by someone. This included being decapitated, which is actually what caused his death, therefore, his head is all that's left of him.

He chose to stay on Sodor to help those like him find a place in this strange purgatory of sorts before they can move on to the afterlife.

Another great example of death affecting appearance is Godred, whose whole left side is constantly fading into gold dust, due to his accident absolutely fucking it all up beyond repair, but it wasn't all cut off, which is why the gold dust still somewhat resembles a humanoid figure.

No one knows why he's still on Sodor, as he could've moved on a long, long time ago. But he's still among the living.

General trivia:

-Spirits and the living can and do interact, mainly Edward, Toby, Skarloey and Lady.

-Lady is quite literally god of this universe, responsibile for looking after the many spirits of the island and help them move on to the afterlife. She also has a say in who lives and who dies. Lady herself is immortal.

-Spirits are often found lingering around where they died, trying to get any passerby to help find their remains, hoping this could somehow help them come back to life. (This isn't possible in this AU as of september 16th, 2022, but I'm not completely sure yet. Stay tuned, just in case I change my mind!)

-If you paid attention to the artworks of Proteus and Godred, you might've noticed that their eyes are different! While Proteus' are pure gold, Godred's are black, both oozing gold dust, almost like tears.

This is because a spirit's eyes say a lot about the life they lived and their intent as a spirit.

Proteus lived a good life, even if it was a short one and now wants to do nothing but help others in a situation similar to his own.

Godred, on the other hand, didn't live the best life, to say the least. He was arrogant, boastful, egotistical and selfish. Nowadays, no one know what he exactly wants, but pretty safe to say that he's not on the island for the same reason as Proteus.

-How would suicide affect a spirit's appearance and eyes?

Suicide usually takes form in smaller scars, depending on how one took their own life. Their eyes still work the same way, being pure gold if they lived a good life, being a good person and have good intentions as a spirit, and they're black otherwise.

For anyone that doesn't know the movie: the story is about a girl named Ella who, when she was born, her fairy (godmother-ish) casted a bleesing of obedience on her. Due to it, Ella obeys any order given to her no matter what, and, well, you can imagine how that goes when the wrong people learn of this information.

Third of 4, but actually the oldest, here's Mihály!

Again, his backstory is literally the same as Ella's, so I'm not really gonna get into that. But to very roughly summarize:

He spent most of his life working for MÁV (I decided. MÁV owns the airlines too!) with his fleet of siblings, trying to get away as often as he could, since MÁV SUCKS. To make a long story short, decades went by with the siblings trying to get as far from MÁV as they could, which resulted in all of them being locked up in an abandoned station for what was planned to be only a few weeks, but ended up being a decade.

This adventure ended up costing 346 lives and the remaining 19's will to live. Luck was fortunately on their side when Edward heard them singing and chatting away, having pretty much given up at that point. One event led to the next, and now they're all happily living on the Island of Sodor.

Personality:

Mihály is the worried dad figure of his siblings, constantly up in everyone's personal space, being the worried old man he is. His mere presence is said to be enough to calm down his siblings, Ella and Endre in particular. He didn't joke around a lot in his youth, this stoic exterior slowly crumbling over the decade he spent trapped in the abandoned station with his brothers and sisters. Nowadays he's on a middle ground when it comes to being social, more so than Ella, but less than Erzsébet.

He enjoys playing football with anyone who wants to join and despite his age, he's really good at it! He's not pushy about it either, thankfully-. He also finds joy in keeping things nice and tidy! Like, interior design and decorating and things like that! He sometimes shares his favourite black tea with Edward, talking about books they're reading and such :].

He doesn't really dislike anything, other than tight spaces, understandably. Though he's very suspicious of Diesel 10. (as he should be-)

So onto the meat of this whole post! (It's 00:24 so sorry for errors lol)

My In The Sky ttte AU! I'll try to keep it short but I tend to go overboard with this sort of thing.

The main gist of it all is that the "engines" aka the Wingmen are a species of almost-people living in the sky above whatever land they would normally reside in in canon, (taking the roles of planes and the like, basically anything that isn't a bird) mainly relying on tourism and cargo traffic for their work.

The banner says "silly queer train people with wings" for a reason! Obviously, almost no one is straight, and they all have wings! There are many different types of wings a Wingman might have:

"Steamies":

Top two pairs of wings: (the humanised versions of) Tank engines, tram engines and narrow/miniature gauge engines

Bottom two pairs of wings: Tender engines

"Diesels" and "electrics":

Fun fact: Diesels can modify their wings! Like Diesel or Diesel 10 here.

As for how things are built up in the sky: they use bricks made of clouds! Okay everything is made of clouds-

Example: a very quick painting I made of a balcony

The clouds are compressed so they're more rigid and durable, which is then used to build stations, houses, roads, which are indeed a thing in the sky, though sometimes they're not compressed as much, these softer clouds being used for furniture and mainly things for children (or clumsy adults and Wingmen).

In general:

The Wingmen are free to go as they please in most of the modern world, except for a few developing countries (and one Central-European hellhole in particular) due to them having wings, thus being able to fly.

The railways are referred to as airlines (North-Western Airlines, Skarloey Airlines, Mid-Sodor Airlines and so on), the Wingmen commonly being called "pilots".

Since the sentient vehicles are all Wingmen, planes aren't that much of a thing, hot air balloons being the norm, at least on the Island of Sodor.

Overall this is just for fun. Hope you enjoy your stay! Also, feel free to ask your favourite Wingmen any questions!
