Project : Disrupt

Week : 11th Dec - 15th Dec

Last week, I started painting a still image from my guitar smashing film. I wanted to finish up the project using a medium I’m comfortable with, so I used acrylic paint.

I wanted to capture the movement of the guitar right before it hits the ground, so I dragged the paint to make a blurred effect.

I plan on cutting around the figure of myself, and sticking it on a collage of album covers that I love, which support the energetic, angry feel of the painting.

actually i like a lot of electronics things lighting up or darkening based on Miles’s heartbeat/emotion, i think it’s super cool. esp when he doesn’t realize it and no one points it out, so he’s just standing silently in front of a electronic heartbeat, i think it’s a great accidental intimidation tactic too. and when he gets super excited, dead electronics charge up and when he’s super exhausted, he starts taking the energy from them and they start to die (he doesn’t realize this either) his powers are just so cool to me

I wish we'd get a (traditional grass/fire/water) starter that is part electric or ice it's like. I know those types can be tough to incorporate into a design (besides water/ice which I would not want in a starter cuz water and ice has been done so many times plus it would basically cancel out the starter triangle) and like. I don't know exactly how to explain it but it makes sense that they haven't done it before but I wish they'd try

Week : 11th Dec - 15th Dec

As I finished my painting of my guitar smashing still, I wanted to create a colourful background for it to contrast the dark tones in the figure.

I decided to print off some of the covers of my favourite albums. I believe the songs and bands from these albums that I chose reflect the impulsive, hectic action of destroying a guitar.

With the print-outs, I made a collage to form the background for my painting. I stuck the painting itself onto the collage with masking tape at the back, to create a relief.

A series of coronal mass ejections from the Sun erupted a little under a week ago and the effects of which are scheduled to start hitting the Earth sometime around 4:00 p.m. eastern time. I'm in Florida, and the smallest bit is going to hit sometime around 4:00 there will be a relative pause for a few hours, and then there will be an extended slap to the Earth.

These CMEs have the ability to disrupt satellite communication, electrical systems and networks, and internet systems. Your phone may not work. If it starts getting hot, take the battery out and put it someplace away from anything flammable.

The second of the cme's that will hit will be sometime around 4:00 to 5 hours later. These are going to be extremely energetic, raising radiation levels on a, b, and gamma levels. Also, the electromagnetic discharge may be enough to start setting fires. If there is a fire near you please get to a safe spot. Animals, the tectonic plates, and Tides may be affected. A CME is being blamed at this point for a power outage in Scotland last week.
