21 YEARS AGO THIS MONTH -- MCFARLANE TOYS UNLEASHES "THE TROOPER."

PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on a print advert for the Eddie the Trooper 6" action figure by McFarlane Toys, based on the 1983 vinyl single by English heavy metal band IRON MAIDEN, and which was also included on the band's "Piece of Mind" studio full-length.

Ah, Eddie Maiden, and more than a far cry from the utterly unimaginative, lamestream franchise tripe that McFarlane has been spewing out over two decades later, which as a result makes me really glad I got out of collecting toys when I did. These were the golden years of McFarlane Toys, alright, back when MT could do no wrong, on top of being the mightiest, scariest, goriest, and unholiest of all toy brands.

IT'S GONNA BE A BRITISH METAL ONSLAUGHT AT THE GARDEN.

PIC INFO: Spotlight on an IRON MAIDEN promotional tour poster for an October 8th, 1983 concert that took place at Madison Square Garden, NYC, and part of their "World Piece Tour" which took place from May 2, 1983 to December, 18, 1983. The tour was in support of the band's then newly-released 4th studio album, "Piece of Mind."
