It is a convenient alternative to traditional wet shampoo and is designed to absorb excess oil and refresh the hair without the need for water. This innovative product has carved a niche for itself in the beauty and personal care industry, offering a quick and hassle-free solution for individuals looking to maintain clean and fresh-looking hair between traditional washes.
The dry shampoo market has witnessed remarkable growth in recent years, driven by changing consumer lifestyles and preferences. In today's fast-paced world, people often lead busy lives, making it challenging to allocate time for daily hair washing. This is where dry shampoo steps in as a time-saving and convenient option, allowing individuals to maintain their hair's cleanliness and volume without the need for a full wash.
The Dry shampoo market growth can also be attributed to the increasing awareness of the adverse effects of excessive hair washing, such as dryness and damage caused by the use of harsh chemicals in traditional shampoos. Dry shampoo offers a gentler alternative, reducing the frequency of wet washing and the associated risks to hair health.
The dry shampoo industry has witnessed several noteworthy trends in recent years. One significant trend is the growing demand for natural and organic dry shampoo products. Consumers are increasingly seeking hair care options that are free from harmful chemicals and are environmentally friendly. As a result, manufacturers have been introducing dry shampoo formulations that incorporate natural ingredients and eco-friendly packaging.
Additionally, the market has seen a surge in product innovation, with manufacturers introducing dry shampoos tailored to specific hair types and concerns. These specialized products cater to a broader consumer base and address various hair care needs, further fueling market growth.
In conclusion, the dry shampoo market has experienced substantial growth in recent years due to its convenience, time-saving benefits, and alignment with evolving consumer preferences for natural and eco-friendly products. With ongoing innovation and a focus on catering to diverse hair care needs, this market is expected to continue thriving in the years to come.

oranges
Tumblr media
gojo knows how to peel oranges
a/n: just something simple inspired by the poem oranges by jean little, i cried the first time i read it, hope you guys enjoy <3
wordcount: 843
masterlist
there was a lot you did for satoru.
you helped ground him, reminded him to drink water, made him food, taught him how to fold clothes and do laundry, showed him all your favorites- from places to eat and videos to play.
you reminded him what love felt like, your tender touches late at night, gentle thumb pads wiping away hot tears, soft whispers and proclamations of love.
satoru always wondered what he did for you.
he didn’t think much of the quality time he’d spend with you, he thought that was a given. he often brushed past the shower of compliments he gave you daily, figuring that was the standard. the little gestures of holding doors open, buying you flowers, remembering your favorite candle scent and buying your shampoo seemed too natural to him for it to be considered and outward act of love.
“you want some oranges?” you asked, looking at him with a smile from the kitchen.
“i could go for some oranges” he replies, getting up from the couch and joining you in the kitchen, taking an orange in his hand.
his thumbs easily tear into through the peel, gently digging his finger and separating it seamlessly from the sweet fruit, continuing his motion until the peel comes completely off, all in one piece.
you on the other hand, are putting too much force into your thumb, your finger piercing straight into the flesh of the fruit, shrieking when the juice gets on your face a bit.
“how do you always peel it so neatly? i have never once been able to” you huff, setting the now punctured Orange on a towel, washing your hands in the sink before drying them off.
“cmon sweetheart it really isn’t that hard!” satoru grins, taking your orange and easily peeling it apart neatly. “you have to do this, and then… get it there and boom!” his smile widening as he stares at you, a pout on your lips and an annoyed look in your eyes.
“yeah yeah mr. ‘I’m so good at everything’” you tease, tasking the orange from his hand and munching on a piece. “they’re sweet today” you smile, putting both your pieces and satoru’s in a bowl, heading back to the couch the two of you were on.
two weeks later the two of you are cooking dinner, reading off the recipe and realizing the dish called for an orange.
“can you hand me an orange?” you ask, turning around and thanking him as he hands it to you. you were determined to not make a mess this time, it’s just an orange after all.
but as gentle as you were, the peel wouldn’t budge, and the little force you applied proved to be just a little too much as your fingers pierced through the flesh again. you groaned in frustrations satoru already taking it from his hands, a smile on his face as he so easily peeled it.
“coulda just asked” he hums, handing you the orange, you’re glaring at him, giggling when he misses your nose.
“thank you angel boy,” you mumble, chopping the orange and adding it in.
one year later you’re sitting together in a grassy field, the wild blowing past the two of you, your laughter and love filled gazes scattered in the wind.
“i got some oranges from the market today!” you grin, taking them out of the wicker basket and showing them to your snowy haired lover. “you owe me breakfast in bed if i can finally peel this damn citrus fruit” you wager, satoru easily sitting back, a small smirk on his face as he nodded.
“I’ll do so breakfast in bed for a month if you peel it in one piece” your eyes widen at his proposition, nodding before looking at the fruit in your hands.
it’s only ten seconds later that you’re throwing yourself back, saying the fruit was obviously defective because ‘there’s no way the peel was that easy to cut through!’
satoru takes the oranges from you, peeling them perfectly and separating them into neat sections.
“I’m glad i have you to peel my citrus” you smile one night, taking the mandarin slices from his hand and humming in delight as the sweet taste hits your tastebuds.
“I’ll always peel your oranges for you” he replies, voice soft, his blue eyes seem a little lighter and his face a bit more relaxed as he looks at you.
it’s been years since then, and you never learned to peel oranges, the times you’d attempt to, juice would get everywhere and the peel coming off in chunks, the aftermath looked like an orange massacre.
satoru’s heart flutters when he sees the citrus fruit, knowing you’ll hand it to him, for him to peel for you. he knows you’ll always ask him to do this for you.
satoru is grateful everyday that you can’t peel oranges, because with the boundless things you do for him, he knows this is the one thing he’ll always be able to do for you.

I wanna post some health and appearance tips because I seen someone else on my tumblr do it.
These are actually mind blowing tips that I’ve tried and tested, actually have science behind them, and make the overall process much easier, i may not have alot of followed and it’s pretty long but please read because these are actually some revolutionary tips like the type of tips that people gatekeep. But that’s not me
Some of these products might be expensive/out if the way I’m sorry, I’m 19 and live alone have been working full time since I was young. I don’t have tips for hiding anything though since I live alone and when I was at home my family never really cared anyways these are mainly tips on how to upkeep your looks while restricting so that way you can look healthy while getting skinny, but I do have some prouducts that will raise less suspicion for anyone who lives at home still.
✨ Tried and tested ✨
Hair~
Hair breaks when you’ve been restricting for a long time but these products have really helped and now I don’t have split ends. Their fine hair friendly as well, just remember shampoo your roots and only condition and oil your ends
Olaplex conditioner and the Olaplex hair oil
shea moisture Manuka honey and manfura oil intensive conditioner
Amika soulfood deep conditioner
Any shampoo with rosemary (makes your hair thicker and has been proven to be as effective as rogaine)
Tessa peays (you can find her on tiktok and YouTube) hair oil recipe and hair oil routine
Body care~
Skin gets really dry sooo
Olay body washes (literally any kind will work their so hydrating, they have a niacinimide one which works to brighten up your skin)
Any lotion with Vaseline in it (Vaseline will lock all moisture in and is the most effective humectant on the market. I don’t recommend using straight Vaseline Vaseline though because that will get all stick, just use a Vaseline brand lotion)
Body scrub once a week
Skincare~
Moisturizer. When your restricting you need to invest in a moisturizer, keep your skin hydrated
Sheet masks 1x a week. I like to use ones that are specifically food themed cuz in my head it’s giving my skin the nutrients I don’t wanna give to myself
My favorite kinds are: the tony Molly “I am-“ ones. Mediheal placenta sheet mask (my skin litterally glows after the placenta one) innisfree honey sleeping mask
I don’t recommend doing diy skincare but the only thing I will ever recommend along the lines of diy skincare is a honey and avacado face mask, makes my skin so hydrated and plump
Foods~
(Some of these might be a fear food for alot and can be a little calorie dense but they help with your appearance)
Berries: especially blueberries and strawberries (have highest antioxidants, which help your apperance)
Cherry and pomegranate juice (antioxidant thing I mentioned above)
Avacados and chia seeds (kinda high in calories I know! But they have lots of omegas and healthy fats and chia seeds are full of omegas and proteins, these will keep your skin dewy and keep your hair nice, chia seeds will also keep you feeling fuller for longer and are a natural laxative)
Eggs: protien+good for your hair
Health in general+ weight~
Quit nicotine. I know that nicotine is like a staple in our community and I myself and on my journey of trying to quitting smoking but after years it catches up to you, and it causes acne. If your not eating your body isn’t going to put that nutrients to upkeeping your face, I already have faint smokers lines around my lips. plus it makes working out easier
(If ur a girl/have female parts) you need to get a probiotic in and get regularly tested for bv and ye⭐️ast infections. You will be prone to bv and yeast “imbalances” while starving and they can cause a lot of problems from stomach bloating to lack of desire and pain and a lot of times are asymptomatic. This happened to me and caused alot of mental anguish because the pain made me question my gender identity and the bloating made the mental aspect of my e d worse and I didn’t even have any symptoms
Don’t use miralax, it’s really bad for you. Drink senna tea, it’s less suspicious and actually works faster and better than laxatives. Plus it doesn’t destroy your organs like miralax
Don’t use trendy diet pills. If your going to take anything get “Garcinia Cambodia” supplement and take it with an apple cider vinegar supplement. Get the acv pills instead of drinking actual acv becsuse it’s better on your teeth (have to be taken together, a study was done on this combination plus it’s been really helping me)
Fast instead of ⭐️ve: I’m not going to get too deep into the science of it all because I’m bad with my words and explaining but basically when your restricting I t’s actually more harmful to your metabolism, makes you crave more food and makes your hungrier making everything harder because that’s what actually puts your body into starvation mode is a constant input of extremely few calories. When your fasting your body goes into “modes” that are actually benifical to your body,metabolism, cravings and feelings of hunger. When you focus more on not eating anything for a long period of time (fasting) vs “I can only have x calories today so I’m gonna eat x and x and x” -(restricting), you’ll find it makes you not only loose weight faster but also make it feel easier
Which is why I see a lot of ppl on here say things like “I can fast so easily but restricting is so hard” well that’s because there’s literally a science to it. And a little secret, after you do general fasting a few days (not for days straight but more so one meal a day like 24 hour fasts and 16+odd hour fasts) it gets easy. It is litterallt so much easier than plain restricting
Take collegen supplements if it’s something your not afraid of because their very good for supple skin and also for hair as well recent studies and random experiments I’ve seen on YouTube have shown
Take biotin~ for your hair
Drink “sparkling ice” drinks. They 5 Cals and have vitamin B’s which are good for your metabolism
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will be adding anytning I might’ve forgotten becayse I kinda rushed this because I rlly wanted to share all of these with everyone in the community after I got inspiration from the post I saw earlier. Feel free to comment or dm me any questions about the products and the sciences
I've been dreaming of the Plotting Serpent.
A Sorcerer in the Sands seeks something far bigger than himself. Freedom, sweet freedom.
How does a moment last forever? How can a story never die?
Tumblr media
Bundled up in several layers, Jamil makes his way down a twisting path and into an open market.
The ground crunches softly under his boots. His breath is chilled, turning into a fleeting fog as he exhales. He retreats to the comfort and safety that his bulky coat provides, watching bales of white lazily drift down around him.
Snow instead of sand—imagine that.
The market operates straight out of the town square. From a vantage point--his temporary housing upon a hill--he can see the entirety of it, all the stalls forming a circle. The market is, by no means, large—but it has the spirit of something grander. The banter, the bartering.
Not so different from the bazaars at home.
Jamil ducks in, taking his time to pace around to each vendor. He’s agile and bright, like a child first viewing the moon and rushing to catch it in his palms.
Most sellers—and most customers—are elderly, gnarled like the roots of a tree. The cold colors their rounded cheeks the same red as many of the apples on display.
There’s pink and yellow and green too, and other fresh produce. The majority of it, he is told, is grown in Harveston. Others are foraged from Mt. Moln—nuts, plants, berries, and mushrooms.
Other stalls offer already manufactured goods. Scarves and gloves to protect against the winter, steaming apple drinks and sweetly spiced snacks, toiletries lovingly handcrafted with botanical oils.
His eyes light up with interest. He stops to inspect a row of shampoo and conditioner bars.
Feel free to touch and smell! says a sign at the stall.
He does, testing the weight of a bar in his hand. It is light and has an easy slip to it, and gives off the faint aroma of apples. Slightly tart and juicy.
It'll be good to have on hand, especially when it weighs less than liquid variants. The sign says these bars are made with apple seed oil, an ingredient that treats split ends and dryness while restoring a shine...
He absentmindedly feels the ends of his hair. The locks are normally dark and glossy, but the cold has not treated them well, leaving them slightly dry and brittle.
That's the cost of travel. It can be difficult to predict how my skin and hair react to different climates.
“Excuse me,” Jamil calls out to the stall owner, “I’d like to buy one of these shampoo bars, please. One in the conditioner bars as well."
“Sure thing!!” The owner wraps up the bars and slides them over. As Jamil hands him a few bills, he pipes up. “Say, yer not from ‘round here, are ya, sonny?”
“Yes. I am but a traveler.”
“Traveler!” The owner’s eyebrows shoot up. “Real fancy livin’ ya must have."
“No, not at all. I try to live humbly and travel light.” Jamil indicates his backpack, the one piece of luggage that follows him wherever he goes.
"That so? Not many young folk visit these parts." The owner strokes his rounded chin in contemplation. "I figured ya must be on yer way to the city. A lot more for youngins to see 'n do there."
“I beg to differ. The village has shown me incredible hospitality during my stay. Delicious foods, friendliness... I can enjoy Harveston's natural sights without worry. I'm content with just that."
With each word that leaves his lips, he feels the weight that has been on his shoulders lifting.
Jamil, you're free, the wind seems to whisper. The realization is intoxicatingly sweet and crisp, the first bite taken from a forbidden fruit.
"Aww, that warms mah heart ta hear ya say," the owner beams. "Yer a good kid, yer parents would be proud of ya."
"My... parents?" Jamil falters at the mention of them.
His parents are back home. His sister, too. Najma had texted not long ago, pestering him about bringing her a souvenir and asking when he’d be back.
His family is waiting for him. And... who else is there?
Jamil's brows furrow. Suddenly, he feels as though someone should be beside him, and he, trailing after them. A hopeless person buying up all the stalls, shoveling new dish after new dish at him.
"Here, try this, Jamil! Oooh, and this! That looks super tasty, have some too! And this cracker!"
"Where did you get all this food from?! There's no way we'll be able to feasibly finish this before it goes bad. Why do you never listen to me, Ka..."
A growl rips from his stomach. Jamil's eyes widen, and his face heats.
The stall owner's laugh cuts through his confusion. "Gahahah! Ya hungry there, son? Here, lemme grab ya somethin' on the house."
"Oh no, sir, I can't accept that."
"I insist!! Won't be long 'fore ya mosey on outta here and move on ta the next place. Eat yer fill while yer here, there ain't nothin' like a homegrown Harveston meal or snack anywhere else in Twisted Wonderland!"
The owner rustles with utensils behind the stall, He fills a container with a generous slice of pie--oozing with apple filling--and fluffy pancakes, plus a few potstickers. Then he pours hot tea, apple cubes bobbing in the spiced brown liquid, into a paper cup.
Jamil gets a whiff of it from where he stands and--against his better judgment, his mouth waters. When the owner hands him the container, cup, and a wooden fork, he doesn't refuse them.
"Remember us ‘n all the fun times ya spent here."
"Thank you, sir." Jamil bows his head. "I will. I'll never forget your kindness."
"Don't 'cha mention it. Go on 'n git now, ya got plenty more of the village to visit!""
Jamil departs with his purchase and his gifts, which he immediately settles into.
Lifting the paper cup to his lips, he sips his tea. It's deep and tangy from the cinnamon and apples it has been brewed with. He pleasantly warms from head to toe.
It isn't long before he downs the rest of the drink, apple cubes and all. They're not fresh, but dried--so when his teeth slices them into halves, they're springy and chewy, with a strong flavor.
Jamil lowers the cup, dragging out a satisfied sigh.
It's then that he realizes he's walking directly into a black wall. He veers sharply to the right, but still brushes his arm against that of the incoming person.
“Pardon me. I wasn't watching where I was going...” Jamil looks back, but is startled to find no one where his shoulder has made contact.
Hm? Was I imagining things?
Jamil glances around the marketplace. The crowd is too sparse for him to miss anyone. There are grandmothers and grandfathers, mothers and fathers, each dressed in thick coats and boots, some wrapped in scarves and others sporting fuzzy hats or earmuffs.
But no one is wearing all black.
He shakes his head.
It was probably nothing then.
Jamil returns to browsing the square, his every stride as light as a feather. He feels as though he is dancing atop the snow.
The cold no longer bothers him.
The wind, carrying a new message that resonates with his heart. It seems stronger now, rumbling like a deadly avalanche.
"Be free, Viper. Be free."
Dry Shampoo Market
A type of hair product called dry shampoo makes the claim that it will lessen the amount of oil, grease, and debris in your hair. Dry shampoo, as the name suggests, can be applied to your hair while it is already dry, unlike wet shampoos and conditioners.
Dry shampoo is often applied to the crown of your head and other areas where oil and shine may visibly collect; it does not need to be washed out of your hair.
For touch-ups after a sweaty workout or to prolong the life of a salon blowout, several individuals swear on dry shampoo.
MY ROUTINE:
I wash my hair every three days. I have wavy dark brown hair and my scalp starts to get oily while my ends remain dry. I just wash it when I feel it's necessary.
Hair oiling. I use sesame Oil before washing my hair in winters and coconut oil in summers. When my hair start to get extremely dry, I make a deep conditioning mask and steam my hair like they do in spas before washing it off too. Before sleeping I always apply rosemary oil and braid my hair.
Protective hairstyles for the night. I always tie my hair up in braids before sleeping and I almost never tie my hair up in a ponytail. From my own experience, it tugs at my forehead too much and I tend to get bald if i tie my hair for longer periods of time, Also, I use 100% cotton t-shirt as my hair towel to protect my hair and I sleep on satin pillowcases( A GEM).
I don't use heat. The only thing I do is steam my hair like once or twice a month after applying a deep conditioning mask only because I have extremely dry hair.
Trimming your ends. I Trim my hair every 3 months by myself. Invest in a good pair of haircutting scissors; it's so worth it!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some more secrets and weird stuff:
Start oiling your hair for growth. You can also try R-89 which I currently use.
Use hair-oils for shine and can also be used as hair serums. Currently, I use rosemary oil.
Switch to bamboo hair comb as they help spread natural oils evenly.
Switch to satin pillowcases (This is a must. Your hair will thank you)
Avoid washing your hair with hot water. Honestly, avoid bathing too. It dries your skin.
Use aloe vera gel instead of shampoo when you get buildup. If your hair is dry like mine you can use it for hydrating your hair too.
Don't use branded oils on your hair please. Get your oils directly from some local shop that are 100% virgin and who retreat the oil from the source in front of your eyes only. The ones in the market are not 100% virgin ever.
Please feel free to share your own suggestions, glow-up tips and further questions in the comments! <3
≀ summary: after a long day of work, you help your boyfriend recharge with a surprise gift.
Tumblr media
You absentmindedly swirl a hand through the water in the bathtub to test the temperature, the water almost scalding your skin. Behind you, Heizou lazily strips out of his clothes, remembering to throw them into the laundry basket instead of dropping them on the floor.
Your boyfriend came home late today, and you took one look at his drained face and steered him to the bathroom. Despite his cheerful nature and reliable intuition, Shikanoin Heizou has his off days. Being the main detective of the Tenryou Commission is no easy task, especially when Kujou Sara hands case after case to him. And although he has years of extensive experience under his belt, sometimes even the doushin can't crack the code.
On days like this, when his mind and body are exhausted, you like to help him relax.
"Bubbles today?" You ask above the noise of the running water, weighing the bottle of soap in your hand.
Heizou hums in response, his back turned to you as he unceremoniously tosses his pants into the basket. You pour the contents of the bottle into the tub while studying the skin of his back. So many scars, you frown, noting the discolored marks and bruises littering his body.
Heizou sighs as he sinks into the warm water, eyes closing as he tips his head back. You crouch down to sit next to the tub, turning the water off before resting your head on the rim. The bathroom is silent, except for the quiet fizzing of the bubbles.
"Heizou?" you whisper, a hand reaching into your pocket.
Green eyes slowly slide open to gaze at your gentle smile before flickering down to the yellow object in your hand. You squeeze the rubber duck, letting the obnoxious squeak ring through the humid air. Heizou laughs and the vibrations send rings of water rippling. There's that smile. His hair is messy and his face is a little pallid, but the glimmer in his eyes brings some life back into his face. A warm feeling spreads through your chest, and you repeatedly squeeze the duck, hoping to see his smile again.
"Stop it," he giggles uncontrollably, a damp hand coming up to catch your wrist. "Where did you even get that?"
Water drips down your arm, wetting the sleeve of your shirt as you press a kiss onto the back of his hand and grimace at the bitter taste of soap in your mouth. "I picked it up from the market today," you reply, letting go of the duck to grab the shampoo bottle. Pouring a generous amount, you begin to work the suds into his hair. "Feelin’ better, baby?"
"I do now," Heizou mumbles, body leaning against the tub while you gently scratch his scalp. His breathing slows, your fingers weaving through his silky hair and pushing the strands back from his forehead. Briefly, you rinse your hands in the water before moving down to his shoulders. Soft groans leave his lips as you work through the knots in his muscles, each exhale tickling your skin.
Time slowly passes as you carefully wash the shampoo from Heizou's auburn locks. The rubber duck bobs in the water, treading through the sweet-scented bubbles. You treasure intimate moments like these when Heizou lets you take care of his vulnerable state. Your boyfriend is completely relaxed now, sagging into your arms as you rinse the suds from his hair. His face is flushed from the warm water, accentuating the light splatter of freckles on his cheeks. You silently count them, fingers trailing across the moles under his eyes and down the slope of his nose to his lips, where a smile is slowly growing.
"That tickles," Heizou huffs, and you pull your hand away to press a kiss to his forehead.
"Dry off and keep the duck company while I get your dinner ready, okay?" you tease.
You're met with a cheeky grin as Heizou picks the duck up and squeezes it, resounding squeaks piercing the silence. You chuckle, playfully pinching the skin of his cheek before drying your hands off on a towel. "Don't take too long or you'll prune," you warn him with a smile.
Cold air filters into the bathroom as you open the door, clearing the foggy mirrors. You glance over your shoulder at the tub. Green eyes gaze at you, and you're taken aback at how much affection is held in them.
As you softly shut the door, you hear the duck squeak once more. "I love you," Heizou calls.
there’s no market for this other than me n my own current situation </3 reader is grieving a loss & talks / cries abt it a lot detroit become human’s connor comforting autistic!reader <3
There was no trace your were distraught. You were washing the dishes when Connor arrived, dismissing yourself with a smile before heading to take a shower. The android looks over the area, stopping when he sees a shine on the sink. Could be water, but he had a feeling.
A tear — a lone human tear. It was then that the detective android heard the small sniffles below the overbearing sound of running water.
Knocking on the bathroom door, Connor hears you let out a gasp before silence. He knocks again, “are you alright?”
You don’t answer, teeth clamped to your bottom lip in an effort to hold back your tears. Connor ponders for a moment before stepping closer to the door. “Skin-to-skin contact is needed during the grieving process, you know.”
“You don’t have skin, Connor.” You bite out. Your voice is garbled and throaty, traces of your despair obvious. You let out a quiet sigh, “sorry, that was mean.”
“It’s true, though,” he smirks to himself. Connor waits for you to say anything, his hand going to the doorknob. When you stay quiet, he speaks up again. “I’m not programmed to find human bodies sexually attractive, if that’s what bothers you.”
To his joy, you let out a small laugh. The android waits, “you can come in, Connor.”
He opens the door immediately, kicking off his shoes and socks. He pauses to take off his tie and jacket before he’s sliding open the shower curtain and stepping in with you. You’re pitiful, he decides, crouched on the shower floor as tears and water cascade down your face. He kneels, “let me know when you’re ready to stand and I’ll help you.”
After a minute and a deep breath, you stand with Connor’s help. He takes the shampoo from your trembling hands, lathering it in his own instead. You frown and turn around. “Gettin’ your suit all wet.”
“That’s alright.”
“You’re getting all wet, too.” You’re adamant about this being useless — a waste of time for him to take care of you. Gently, Connor rinses the shampoo from your hair and turns you to face him. “It in your programming to take care of grieving autistics?”
“No,” he looks down at you with a smirk. “Just you.”
You lean your head against his chest as another sob wracks your body. After a moment, you bring your face out of hiding and wipe your tears away harshly. Your nose, top lip and under eyes are so raw from wiping them with tissues all day, yet you still cry.
Connor pats the back of your head tenderly. “Need to sit down again?”
You shake your head and sniffle, letting out another deep sigh. Connor watches you for a minute, a hand going to your hip to keep you stabilized. “Lieutenant Anderson drinks when he’s upset.”
“People grieve in different ways,” you smile sadly at him. Leaning forward again, you place your head on his chest and allow the thrum of his thirium pump to hum to you gently. “Autistic people especially.”
Connor hums, allowing you to wash yourself before he turns the water off. He steps out first, gathering and readying a towel for you to step into. You allow him to pull you into his arms, rubbing his hands up and down your arms and back soothingly. He pats you dry and helps you shuffle into comfortable and warm pajamas.
You go to leave, but Connor grabs your wrist, tugging you gently so your back is leaning against the bathroom sink. He grabs the face lotion you usually use, frowing as he scans the ingredients — your sensitive skin did not need alcohol on it right now. He finally finds one he deems soft enough to put on your raw and chapped skin.
“Burns,” you whisper out in a whine-like tone. Connor hushes you, cooing as he tenderly slathers on the gel. Your eyelids are just as swollen as they are irritated — Connor frowns at how sad you look. You crack your eyes open as he finishes, “what now?”
“Now,” Connor cups your cheeks lovingly. “We get you something light and filling to eat. One step at a time.”
Your lip wobbles at the encouraging words as you nod slowly. “One day at a time. Thanks, Con.”
Thank you to my dear @spotsandsocks for the tag 🥰 This scene has been fighting me, so I'm throwing this bit out there if anyone has any feedback!
But he doesn’t get to finish his sentence. Buck’s lips are on his, cutting off his rambling and short-circuiting his brain.
The first press of lips is a little tentative. Buck’s are dry but soft, barely lingering before he pulls back just far enough to look Eddie in the eye.
“Sorry,” he says, sheepish. “You were about to start a monologue, but I just really wanted to kiss you.”
Eddie huffs a laugh. “Point taken.”
Buck’s hands tighten briefly around Eddie’s waist as he rests their foreheads together.
“We can talk more later,” Buck says. “Right now, I’d like to kiss you properly.”
Eddie swallows. It sounds loud in the quiet of the apartment.
“Okay,” he breathes, nudging his nose against Buck’s.
He pushes his worries to the back of his mind, focusing on his breathing and trying to control his heart rate. Then Buck kisses him, and he doesn’t have any thoughts other than the all-encompassing this is Buck, this is real, I’m kissing Buck.
Where their first kiss was short and hesitant, Buck doesn’t hold back this time. He starts soft again, but he soon has Eddie letting out a gasp and parting his lips, granting him whatever access he wishes. Then Buck steers him to lean against the kitchen island, Eddie’s fingers threading into the loose curls at the back of Buck’s head, tugging gently. Buck hums, deepening the kiss and moving the rest of himself the last millimeter forward, his body flush with Eddie’s and surrounding him in the sweet smell of honey - Buck’s froofy shampoo he bought at the farmer’s market last month - and the underlying natural scent that’s just Buck.
No pressure tagging @shortsighted-owl @elvensorceress @alyxmastershipper @rogerzsteven @loveyourownsmiilee @mysteriouslyyounggalaxy @honestlydarkprincess @monsterrae1 @buddierights (apologies if you've already posted, I tried to look, but there's a chance I missed some posts today)
