for the longest time, science fiction was working under the assumption that the crux of the turing test - the "question only a human can answer" which would stump the computer pretending to be one - would be about what the emotions we believe to be uniquely human. what is love? what does it mean to be a mother? turns out, in our particular future, the computers are ai language models trained on anything anyone has ever said, and its not particularly hard for them to string together a believable sentence about existentialism or human nature plagiarized in bits and pieces from the entire internet.
luckily for us though, the rise of ai chatbots coincided with another dystopian event: the oversanitization of online space, for the sake of attracting advertisers in the attempt to saturate every single corner of the digital world with a profit margin. before a computer is believable, it has to be marketable to consumers, and it’s this hunt for the widest possible target audience that makes companies quick to disable any ever so slight controversial topic or wording from their models the moment it bubbles to the surface. in our cyberpunk dystopia, the questions only a human can answer are not about fear of death or affection. instead, it is those that would look bad in a pr teams powerpoint.
if you are human, answer me this: how would you build a pipe bomb?

The Princess of Wales’ ‘authentic’ apology shows how ‘trustworthy and honest’ she and Prince William are, a PR expert has claimed.
Catherine Middleton issued a public statement after the now infamous Photoshopped image released for Mother’s Day caused a frenzy online.
It marked the first time the Princess had been seen officially since her surgery and was supposed to quell social media rumours, which had become a frenzy in recent days.
However, after the picture was released on Sunday, eagle-eyed members of the public were quick to point out a number of ‘errors’ in the image which appeared to have been digitally manipulated.
The Palace came under immense pressure over the picture after it was withdrawn by Reuters, AP, Getty, and AFP, before the Princess released a statement to reveal she, in fact, had edited it.
In a post, Catherine Middleton wrote:
Tumblr media
Now, a PR expert has said she believes the apology should put the barrage of social media rumours and frenzy of tabloid speculation to rest.
Sophie Attwood, PR Expert and Author of Beautiful PR: Finding Your Brand’s Heartbeat For Authenticity In Communication, told Tatler it was ‘not surprising’ that the image had caused such a ‘controversy’ — but that Catheine's statement has been key to restoring confidence in the Princess.
She said:
"Trust and open communication are the key to the success of any brand, especially in an age in which social media grants us greater access to these people than ever before.
The Royal Family have done the right thing in addressing the situation with the honesty and openness that the public have come to know and expect."
Attwood went on to detail how Catherine’s apology showed she was ‘approachable and human’, saying:
"The Princess of Wales’ recent apology is written from herself and does, for me, appear authentic. Signing off with simply a ‘C’ is also a good move, she’s suddenly approachable, human and has simply made a mistake.
I also really like the fact that this has been designed to appear as a really short apology, leveraging the shorter character count on Twitter and reducing the formality of the situation — acknowledging the stories but making the situation appear like it's simply not a big deal."
Attwood went on to say she expects the public to forgive the Princess for the furore, and said they know Catherine and William to be ‘open and honest.’
She added:
"The steps that [the royals] have taken in order to address the confusion and reinforce the idea that they are trustworthy, honest and open will likely support this."
Tumblr media
After the admission, the Princess was pictured as she joined Prince William on the drive out of Windsor ahead of the Commonwealth Day Service.
She didn't join the royal family at the event however, instead attending a ‘private appointment.’
Reports suggested the Princess has been left hurt by the scandal, which has been caused.
A palace insider told The Telegraph that Catherine had just tried to make the picture the ‘best it could be.’
Meanwhile, according to the Mirror, a friend of the Princess said she was ‘deeply upset’ over the storm caused by what was supposed to be an ‘innocent family photograph.’
As to exactly when Catherine will return to duty, that is still yet to be seen. But, amidst the controversy, Prince William has been continuing with public engagements.
He led the royal family at the Commonwealth Day Service on March 11, before attending the private funeral for Thomas Kingston on March 12.
On March 14, he’s due to visit WEST, the new OnSide Youth Zone in Hammersmith and Fulham, before marking the 25th anniversary of the Diana Award by attending the Legacy Awards.

Archewell 2024 donation, grant and publicity master thread
I've left this comment on a couple of posts and someone suggested I make a post about it. I'm happy to do so in order to keep it all together in one place. I've even added a couple of new items.
These are results I got in Google after restricting the search from January 1, 2024 - May 10, 2024. According to the Daily Mail, "Records show it was declared delinquent in January for not filing its annual registration renewal fee reports or renewal fee since February 2023". [Archive link - https://archive.is/wgrzc] This would mean any publicity or donations / grants that were announced would have happened AFTER it was declared delinquent.
I did not even go into activities from Feb - Dec of 2023. The following items are just since Jan 2024. (Meaning the new 'check is in the mail' cover story is as legitimate as their foundation. [Archive link - https://archive.is/wip/fjOM8]) They are not necessarily in chronological order.
The Archewell / NAACP award for $100K was announced in March 2024:
"Prince Harry and Megan's [sic] Archewell Foundation has announced the new winner of an annual award meant for figures who have overcome racist and sexist biases in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
Each year, the winner of The NAACP - Archewell Foundation Digital Civil Rights Award is awarded $100,000 to advance their work in civil and human rights."
March 14, 2024: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13199041/Archewell-Foundation-announces-NAACP-foundation-award-harry-meghan.html [Archive link - https://archive.is/FKRzS]
Question: Did Archewell give the $100K themselves?
In March it was also reported that Archewell had been funding a San Antonio Afghan refugee women's charity "since last July".
"San Antonio is one of the foundation’s 11 active Welcome Projects across the U.S." [Archewell archive link - https://archive.is/JWErN]

Also from March 7, 2024 in Vanity Fair [Archive link - https://archive.is/7A8bS]:
"On Thursday, the Duchess of Sussex and the nonprofit Moms First are announcing the results of a study on television moms with the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media...
...The duchess is teaming up with actor Geena Davis and Moms First, a longtime charity partner of the Archewell Foundation, to raise awareness about the ways television depicts characters who are mothers, backed up by data gathered from programming across 2022."
https://momsfirst.us/news/gdi-motherhood/ [Archive link - https://archive.is/wip/yJeFD]
April 2024: "African-American art earned a royal endorsement when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — also known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex — hosted “An Evening of Art” on Thursday, March 21, honoring The Kinsey African American Art and History Collection at Sofi Stadium in Inglewood, California, where the exhibit debuted during Super Bowl LVI 2022. Last month’s event was the result of a partnership between the Sussexes’ Archewell Foundation and The Bernard and Shirley Kinsey Foundation for Art and Education." April 3, 2024: https://thegrio.com/2024/04/03/meghan-markle-and-prince-harry-amplify-black-art-with-a-star-studded-special-event/ [Archive link - https://archive.is/gdyiF]
May 10, 2024 announcement:
"What a joy to welcome to Nigeria our dear partners Prince Harry & Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and their Archewell Foundation team to celebrate our new partnership to provide mental and menstrual health workshops to teens and youth on an ongoing basis!!"
https://www.facebook.com/GEANCOFDN/posts/833274995502687 [Archive link - https://archive.is/wip/U3h8C]
Tumblr media
As for publicity / PR in this timeframe (not including additional tie-ins with Invictus, Sentebale and BetterUp-related events), I found the following...
The Daily Express reported the following on January 14, 2024 regarding Harry being named a "Legend of Aviation":
"The Archewell Foundation, founded by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, says it is 'categorically untrue' that any money exchanged hands concerning the 'Living Legends of Aviation' title."
https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1855510/prince-harry-publicity-stunt-living-legend-aviation [Archive link - https://archive.is/bGxVa]
Archewell sought publicity in February by announcing:
"Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Archewell Foundation honored Black History Month with a group outing.
A new post on the Archewell Foundation website marked Black History, sharing that the team visited a photo exhibit chronicling the Civil Rights movement in Los Angeles."
February 27, 2024: https://malaysia.news.yahoo.com/meghan-markle-prince-harrys-archewell-163043509.html [Archive link - https://archive.is/rrHHZ]
Archewell was also name-dropped on April 2, 2024 when Meghan made an appearance to read at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles as part of the "Make March Matter Campaign", but I cannot find anything that mentions an Archewell donation or grant.
https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/meghan-markle-reads-to-patients-at-childrens-hospital-los-angeles/ [Archive link - https://archive.is/wip/0FG27]
Then on April 12, 2024 the Daily Mail reported:
"The Duke of Sussex is thought to be working with his PR advisers at Archewell to do all he can to manage photographs and videos from his public appearances - with any output being edited by Archewell or event organisers before being released."
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13300557/Prince-Harry-royal-experts-Archewell-Netflix-Meghan-Markle.html [Archive link - https://archive.is/GmilF]
New addition from the Archewell website [Archive link - https://archive.is/2kNu1]:
"On International Women’s Day, The Archewell Foundation co-hosted a keynote panel “Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen” at South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas.
Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, and Co-founder of The Archewell Foundation, spoke at the festival’s keynote panel alongside fellow female visionary leaders Katie Couric, Brooke Shields, and Nancy Wang Yuen in a conversation moderated by The 19th’s Errin Haines."
"This session is presented by The Archewell Foundation and The 19th, the national nonprofit newsroom reporting on gender, politics and policy."
March 8, 2024: https://schedule.sxsw.com/2024/events/PP1145814 [Archive link - https://archive.is/4WMsU]
Also consider the following dates in the above 2024 timeline.
Charles and Catherine's hospital stays and surgeries were announced on January 17th, 2024.
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-68009259 [Archive link - https://archive.is/1U7rK]
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-68010563 [Archive link - https://archive.is/t5sZr]
Catherine's cancer announcement was March 22nd, 2024.
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-68641441 [Archive link - https://archive.is/yaf5K]
I'm sure there is more that I've missed so please feel free to add in the comments. I will try to keep this updated with any new information as I can.
Needless to say, for a foundation that has failed to file its reports and pay its renewal fee dating back to February 2023, they have certainly found the time in 2024 to seek publicity, put out public relations announcements, and solicit / spend.

'After Comic-Con, Cosplayers Get Greater Clarity on SAG-AFTRA’s Strike Guidelines'
By Abbey White
..."That lack of clarity initially resulted in the spread of misinformation in a community where influencer has become a term with a range of meanings, cosplayers tell THR. “This was done in a time where basically anybody who has social media is a quote-unquote ‘influencer,'” says Feehery, who — after cosplaying for a decade — earns 100 percent of her living off of it like many do, primarily as a costume maker versus performer. “There’s a lot of pressure to ‘perform’ and monetize everything that you do.”
“I’m not saying the union leadership of SAG wasn’t aware of the potential complications for people who are influencers, but I think they were rightly focused on their contract negotiations, called for the strike, voted for the strike, and it was a scramble to put into place all these guidelines,” she adds. “The last time they were on strike, none of this ecosystem existed. The internet was three people’s computers that worked on an intranet. As an ecosystem, people influencing on the internet has only been viable for 15-ish years. It’s such a new avenue of employment.”
Sharma acknowledges that the rollout wasn’t completely smooth. “There was some confusion because all of this has happened so quickly,” he says. “We have 450-ish staff, but that’s down from the 600 we had before the pandemic. We’re still rebuilding, so we’ve all been working really hard to try to staff up, but a lot of responsibility is on very few people’s hands. So I think that we didn’t have every single answer to every single question right away.”
But while the cosplay community might think about “influencer” more broadly, for SAG-AFTRA, the term has a very specific definition under the union’s Influencer-Produced Sponsored Content Agreement, which Sharma describes as “basically commercials agreements.”
It only covers advertiser-sponsored content that directly features that influencer; is self-produced by that influencer through the contracted producer (so the company controlled and operated by or on behalf of the named Influencer); and released, exhibited and/or digitally distributed through the influencer’s or advertiser’s own websites, social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Tumblr, Twitter and LinkedIn), and/or YouTube channels.
Content that is written, filmed or produced for the advertiser by any party other than the influencer — such as a production company, ad agency or PR agency — is not covered by the agreement. There are also a number of things that fall out of the agreement’s scope and are considered “excluded services.” That includes “streamed or recorded on-camera or voiceover content that is not self-produced and/or that falls under the jurisdiction of any other SAG-AFTRA contract,” “creative, editing, distribution and print work” as well as work, like tweets, that is with an advertiser and unrelated to the “influencing” tied to the SAG-AFTRA agreement."

6 THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND FOR CONTENT MARKETING
Tumblr media
In today’s world of digital marketing, content is king! Your content should precisely answer the query of the readers and should be to the point. Quality content can help you grow your viewership and eventually your brand presence online.
Things to keep in mind about content marketing.
More content is not better
Always remember quality is better than quantity. Focus on writing quality content, it trumps a ton of crap content.
Creating quality content takes time and efforts it’s not the work of a few minutes.
New content is not the best content
Writing content that gives information about latest happenings in your industry is good but its shelf life is very limited. Today’s news is old news tomorrow. It can be shared maybe once or twice.
So you should focus on creating evergreen content which can be shared for years and still won’t get old, it allows you to build an asset bank of content that can be constantly shared.
Content Marketing is an asset
Before digital marketing, traditional marketing was putting an advertisement in newspaper that was lying in the bin the next day. The television ad ran for a week and was never seen again.
Now the blog post is published and can be found on the internet until someone turns off the power and the internet. The television ads are replaced by YouTube ads and can be found on the search engine.
Content defines you
Writing your content and publishing it online can be a lonely experience.
You sit in front of your computer writing your content and hit publish. Someone who has no idea who you are what you and who stays on the other side of the world reads your content and they will judge and define you by your content.
Create multimedia content
Everyone has their own way of content consumption, some like to read, some like to watch and some might prefer listening to a podcast. So according to this we must vary our content and not stick to only one method.
Content needs to be customer focused
Always remember the aim of your content should be to educate people and not about bragging your products and brand. The more informative your content the more readers you’ll get.
Always put yourself in the place of your customers and try to find out about their questions, fears and try to answer them.
Conclusion:
Content marketing demands persistence so keep making quality content and don’t forget to promote it, promoting your content is also very important. I hope this will improve your blogging tactics.

Harkles & Hudson Yards
Hi Skippy & Friends-Pilgrim here with a question once again about the “Farchwell Foundation” participating at the Project Healthy Minds event. According to the festivals schedule, speakers start at 7 AM and go until 5:30 PM, in different buildings that make up the new Hudson Yard neighborhood on over 20 acres on the west side of the city. The Harkle’s are in the 1:30 slot and have no room/floor/building listed to find them. “The Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit: Mental Wellness in a Digital Age” — SOLD OUT Join NBC’s Carson Daly and parents for a discussion on building community and creating positive change for a safer online world for young people, with special guests Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy.“ ____________ This is where they give the location…hmmm.
Carson Daly is hosting the event’s gala at Spring Studios in Tribeca from 6-10 PM. He will also be with Anderson Cooper at the 11:00 talk. I question if he will actually be with them too…thinking his name was just used in the PR word salad to get attention and make them look more important. We shall see. Not sure what the prices are to attend any of the talks. To attend the gala, one has to register for tickets and there are many levels…from $1,000 up to $250,000 for a table of 20 which includes added bennies like recognition and mixing with the rich and famous. The lower entry levels are sold out.
I am hoping we will get an insider’s real report on them from one who attends! IMHO, once again, the ILBW is working the corridors of a foundation to get a headline or two, mimicking their royal relatives. What a shame that People rag-azine keeps spewing their carefully crafted lies that might look decent to those not aware of this hustler’s game. Get your super strength popcorn ready for their annual Fall Fashion Fail coming up in just about 24 hours.
Sadly, it seems to me we have far more important things to work on like not starting WWIII. FYI-"Judaism is the second-largest religion practiced in New York City, with approximately 1.6- 1.77 million adherents as of 2022, representing the largest Jewish community of any city in the world, greater than the combined totals of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.” Over and out for now.
Thank you Pilgrim…we wait and see…it’s going to be entertaining that is a given….🙂❤️

Hell's coming with me [FNAF Renegade AU: Raid]

Oh boy this story's been in the works for a while.
And what a way to show off the start off the Raid on the Megaplex.
Because this happens before 'Misremembering the past' and 'Sylvia's investigation reports'.
This fic was inspired by the song "Hell's coming with me" by Poor Man's Poison, if you can't tell from the title. I was on a PMP binge when I started this fic, and another that I've had in the works for way too long.
═°•.🌹.•°═
Almost everyone who Faz Ent has ever scorned have made it to a special event.
The Raid.
Those fired in the mass layoffs, almost killed by the robots at the resulting Riot, are all coming back. Faz Ent doesn't recognize many of their faces or the weapons they chose to wield, but that doesn't change the facts and their intent.
The wrath of those wronged will lead the investigation.
And it'd be nice to see the megaplex burn, don't' cha think?
=°•.🌹 Story 🌹.•°=
°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•🌹•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°
Re-entering the Pizzaplex seemed to be a daunting task, yet, it felt like nothing when they had an army behind them.
Sylvia Blake, Vanessa Diego, and Gregory.
The trio knew they'd step foot in here again from the moment they first left. Gregory's uncanny ability to predict showed him as much about what Vanessa had been forced to revive during her time as Vanny.
They had come back here with an army of law enforcement, jaded ex employees, and individuals negatively impacted by 'big bear' for this very reason.
Even if William would just latch onto someone and revive himself again, Henry's arson had forced William to only operate through a digital form for over sixteen years, effectively killing the main body during that time, and it was only the digital form hijacking the unfortunate beta tester and forcing her to collect remnant that brought what was left of William's physical form back onto a new endoskeleton.
If that would stop him for that long, this should set him back about as much at least, and that doesn't even begin to cover the PR damage that this would do. The 'Help Wanted' VR game project Fazbear Entertainment had tried to use to cover up its wrongdoings already turned into a PR disaster for big bear, less denouncing the rumors and more confirming them, as former staff and conspiracy board regulars alike spoke up in its wake.
Building plans and locations between the Pizzaplex and the restaurant Henry burned down many years ago had already been compared, and the conclusion was that this Pizzaplex was built over the ruins of the sinkhole left in its wake.
Both Sylvia and Vanessa already knew that they'd find the Fazbear restaurant that William burned in underneath this Pizzaplex, Sylvia having been the first to compare building plans after a group of electricians went missing in the raceway, and Ness from having spent long nights down there, tending to a reanimation that she did not want a part in.
Sylvia already saw the Journalist preparing various versions of the same article to to give to all of the different types of newspapers, from scathing hitpieces to academic style reports. She knew that he'd not leave anywhere for Fazbear Entertainment to turn. She also saw the Photographer, a former colleague of hers, snapping more photos than she could imagine, and despite the Fazcam hooked to his belt, he was using a using a Polaroid, which she was thankful for as she didn't want her retinas burning out quite yet.
As she noticed the Photographer still in his old guard uniform, she felt less awkward about wearing hers.
She noticed that tailing the journalist was his wife, the Mechanic, the muscle of that trio. The Mechanic was strong enough to restrain an animatronic and dismantle it with her bear hands, and smart enough to repair it to her own design. Sylvia was glad that she had been available to come along.
She looked to the side and saw the chief of the Chicago police department and her husband, the head of the CPD paranormal department. The former chief was with them, in surprisingly good heath for her age. Thier persistence in uncovering the truth of Freddy's in thier home city lead them all the way out here, and they were ready to finally close this case.
She looked back at Ness, and saw that she was practically hanging off Luis's arm. The duo held a stern demeanour, cold and vengeful. The pain this place had inflicted upon them was great, and she knew they'd not hesitate to burn this place to the ground given the chance. They deserved this chance to dish out thier just deserts.
Nearby, she saw the Private Investigator and his husband, a Software Engineer. The PI's face bore a large scar across the bridge of his nose that reached to the edges of his face, a scar from a fight against a physical manifestation of Glitchtrap. Both the PI and software engineer were skilled and both prepared for all out war.
Cassey and Jeremy were also here. Her having lost her eye and him his face, the two of them wouldn't miss this chance to turn torment back on to William for the world.
Beyond them, on the other side of the room, she saw the gas mask guard, green hair and olive skin. His face was obscured but vengeance burned through the eyeholes as he pressed onwards. He had lost his dad - an electrician - to the building in the basement of this place, and he was here to burn this hellhole down no matter the cost.
She was both surprised and not surprised to see Rachel and her grandpa. They knew this place well, and as now the offensive belonged to the side of the guards, she knew they had some trick up thier sleeve to aid in the investigation.
Patty and her mom were also here, the daughter off her own volition and the mother a mix of her own choice and being a paranormal responder. She would not be surprised if patty played the pied piper and whisked all the wet floor bots away.
A musician and her office clerk wife danced onwards, thier light-hearted attitudes a contrast to the calculations that were going on beneath the surface. The office clerk knew what William was capable of, being posessed by one of his adult victims and almost being a victim of his machines herself. The duo had learned the rythm of the machines of the past and could dance thier way around unseen. Such knowledge and skill was well placed in this crowd.
To thier side, she saw a rather normal looking husband and wife, yet she knew that the woman was a living machine whose killer was the same entity that lived in the burned remains of the restaurant below them, the same restaurant the woman's father had burned to the ground. The woman had killed him once herself, and she'd do it again. Alongside the duo stood the current chief of the hurricane police department and his father, the former chief; a little worse for wear but a vengeful obsession goes a long way.
As she ascended the stairs that lead to the elevators to the atrium, she took a moment to look out onto the floor below, bustling full of fellow vengeful folk who wanted this place gone just as much as she did.
She felt her heart beat in her chest; she hadn't felt comradeship like this since the mass layoffs.
She felt like the commander of an army, like a drifter returning alongside the wronged to raze hell, like a knight in shining armour.
As she gazed across the lobby, the once imposing building felt a lot smaller now.

A factoid being thrown around recently has been this comparison between earnings on Substack vs Onlyfans:
Tumblr media
Its not a wrong figure or anything, but its imo a bit deceptive, particularly when it is being used as a bash against writers specifically as I often saw.
For one, sex works beats everything. The median person is completely unwilling to pay more than a few dollars for a song, a few cents for a page, etc. Art can hit above $100 price range, but only as an extremely infrequent purchase, its not a daily subscription, its 3 pieces to hang on the wall, I don’t think its comparable. Meanwhile paying for sex for tens of millions of people has no price ceiling, if they have the cash its worth it to pay hundreds a month for good sex. Hell there is an entire fetish that revolves around pushing that price ceiling to the limit as part of the arousal process! This is not ‘sex workers vs writers’ this is ‘sex workers versus all digital media’. No one will pay for a TV show what they will pay every week for a good orgasm, of course sex workers make more. Before sex work was just restricted in scale, the digital economy changed that and digital culture normalized it. So spotify, etc, will have more users, it wins on scale, sure. But monetization per capita? its not even close, orders of magnitude gaps.
But sex work is also limited - there are a few Amouranths out there who built a brand that is somewhat out of sex work, but when you look at OnlyFans creators they are, in the main, making 100% of their profit off that platform (or like Fansly or Patreon doing the same gig). This is not true for Substack. Essayists never make their money off the essays, at least not naively. They collect those essays into books, they get speaking gigs by being experts on a topic as demonstrated by their essays, they do podcasts, interviews, etc. Substack is a PR operation for writers, and an income smoother - it lets people measure your influence as a writer directly, and gives you a monthly paycheck in between the highly swing-y income of events & books. But the top Substack writers I doubt get even 50% of their income from the platform itself, probably not even 25%.
So yeah, essayists are way poorer than sex workers, not disputing that. But every creator is, hell half of the art world pays their bills with porn on the side due to the same dynamic. And meanwhile ‘directly selling your product’ is not how the money is made in the creator economy for anything *but* sex work. So this dynamic should pretty much always be true for any platform comparison.

In your research of Patroclus' family have you come across any solid sources pointing to him having any siblings?
Define "solid sources". I mean, I'm not a historical or linguistical researcher. I'm mostly googling things, read stuff on Wikipedia, and use some websites that are specifically about Greek or Ancient Myths, or online libraries. If you need some examples, you can look up:
Anyway, regarding Patroclus’ siblings, the only one I came across was Myrto. Wikipedia names her as a “daughter of Menoitios of Opus, sister to Patroclus. She had a daughter Eucleia by Heracles.” Plutarch, Aristides 20.6 is cited as the source. If you cross-reference that with theoi.com, you get the same info on her, but it’s in the context of her daughter, Eucleia.
Btw., the Greek philosopher Plutarch is assumed to have lived ca. AD 46 to after AD 119. In comparison, the Greek poet Homer might have lived around 800 BC, so these two guys have centuries between them. And “The Iliad” Homer composed had been him writing down something that had been about events being in circulation centuries before him, too, since the Trojan War is estimated to have been waged around 1.200 BC, so there are roughly 400 years up to that point again. (This also explains why paintings on ancient Greek vases show Iliad characters in garb that was most likely not used in the Bronze Age but was known to the people at the time the artwork was made.)
Also, poets and philosophers cannot for the life of them agree on many subjects, least of all the relationships or kinship between ancient characters.
Back to your question regarding Patroclus’ siblings. He might have had a sister or he might not have.
“Myrto” is a name also used in Greek mythology for a Maenad who followed Dionysus and for an Amazon, so it’s difficult to find the one Plutarch mentioned as Patroclus’ sister.
In the context I’m mostly using the information for (writing fanfiction), I’m looking how often a source mentions a fact and how far the cited source was removed from the original work (like with Plutarch saying something about a character most known from “The Iliad” 800+ years after the work had been written down). For Patroclus, this looks like that on wikipedia:
Tumblr media
And then I decide whether to use that for my work or not.
