born in the states, baton rouge, louisiana, daisy was in a loving family and first of four girls. charlotte and jack hookum couldn’t have been happier with their clan. daisy was a gem from the first day and always had a mothering instinct. she would play with her dolls and stuffed animals with care until her first sister, abigail, was born. she finally had a human being to focus her love and attention on. she helped her parents and they loved seeing the connection the two had from the first day. then came along the next two siblings, natalie and leah. daisy was thrilled. she kept expecting more children would come but that would be the end of siblings. charlotte and jack certainly had their hands full but could always count on daisy. the house was a busy one but a loving busy house. none of the daughters ever felt like they were taken for granted. daisy herself made sure she gave as much care to each of them as she could and charlotte and jack would never find themselves ignoring any of their children who always came first.

while being such an integral part of the family, daisy showed signs of magic. she was able to make plants grow without trying. the house had a beautiful garden outside that she had created. it was the thing she had for herself. her bedroom was blooming. she didn’t know how she could do it but it brought her joy. when she was eight years old her parents sat her down and explained that charlotte was a witch and that meant that daisy had the chance to have those abilities and it appeared she did. daisy was taken aback but excited by the word magic. when she was told she would be going to a special school to hone her skills, daisy became uneasy about leaving her family. charlotte promised her that she had some of her best days at ilvermorny and not to worry because she had a few years to get used to the idea.

having grown up in louisiana, it came as a big surprise when her parents told the family that they were moving to england due to a job her mother got. they didn’t tell them that it was at the ministry of magic but that it was a huge opportunity that they couldn’t pass up. ten year old daisy’s mind was spinning. she was ten years old and expecting to go to ilvernorny, something she was preparing for. now she was going to be expected to go somewhere else that was brand new. her mother couldn’t promise hogwarts would be the best days of her life. shortly after the move, daisy received her letter. she was nervous but refused to let it get the best of her. she was tough and could handle it. she would be the first of her family to enter such an adventure. she could always write letters to her family and see them at breaks. she had photos that she planned on posting around her room.

when daisy got to hogwarts, she was blown away by the view of the castle from the boats. again, her head was spinning. she couldn’t believe how beautiful it was and hoped that her experience would be just as lovely as that experience. and when she walked into the great hall the experience was only enhanced. butterflies lived in her stomach when she saw that people had to put a hat on to say where you belonged in the school. it told her hufflepuff. a long table of students stood and clapped as she walked to them, not knowing what it meant but felt welcomed as she held her head up high. daisy was proud. she had to be and refused to be anything less.

daisy did well in her classes. she got good marks, nothing outstanding, but grades that got her through and that she was proud enough of. however, the classes she excelled in were history of magic and muggle studies. it was these classes that shaped who she would become as an adult. the war only cemented what she thought about doing later in life.

during the war, daisy spent a lot of time with her family. she stayed neutral but was scared for her family seeing as how she herself was a half-blood and had family that were muggles. she would try her best to fight for her family. if something happened to them, something would happen to her. she wouldn’t let them go down without her. luckily it never came to that. they were safe and daisy was relieved.

after the war, daisy returned to her flat and returned to her job at the secondhand bookstore where she felt at home. she began writing notes about ideas of what she wanted to do with her life. the idea she had before the war was finally going to happen. she was going to prepare herself to live a full year without any magic. she wanted to live as a muggle and write about her experience. she hoped that in doing so the magical world would see that being a muggle has its own magic.and to not fear what muggles have to offer the world. daisy hasn’t started her year as of yet but is preparing.

Oh she’s lovely! Keep in mind she’s 35 but definitely looks younger. I think she could be a lovely Daisy Hookum or Theodosia Selwyn! While I also think she’d fit with the personality of some of our other characters, we want to be mindful to not whitewash when choosing alternate FCs.
