Am I the only one noticing how much Omega's dialogue sounds like Crossair's and Tech's? That whole bribery exchange with the spaceport official. "Stow it". She sounds like them and it hurts

Ch. 3. Last Day of Summer
“Come on!” She dragged on, following Hunter around the house.
“No, Omega.”
She yanked on his arm, making him turn around to face her. Her hands were clasped together and her eyes shone with daring tears. That face she made gave the man flashbacks to his last year in high school. Omega used it way back then, too. Only now, she seemed to have really perfected the look.
It was the last day of summer vacation and Omega requested that all six of them do something fun. The only thing in her way was Hunter and his inability to say ‘yes’.
Hunter looked at his sister with an annoyed frown. He wanted to, but there was a lot of work that needed to get done first. Even if all five brothers were home from base. Closing his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose, he sighed.
“If you can convince everyone to do something fun, we will.”
Omega’s blue eyes narrowed and her lips curled into a smug smile. “Challenge accepted.”
The girl ran off in the opposite direction to find the other four. Hunter kept his smile away, feeling a little bad for her. She had to convince Crosshair and Tech, and that wasn’t going to be so easy. He felt a little proud of himself with this diversion, she might spend the whole day trying to get her brothers’ approval and then won’t have much day left to do what she wanted.
A little mean? Yes. But as a newly appointed authority figure, he had to have boundaries. They all did. It was for the best. Hunter walked back to his bedroom, deciding to work on files and emails that were beginning to pile up.
With a mission to be accomplished, Omega searched for Wrecker first. Spending just a few weeks with her brothers and she had strategized a ranking among them. Wrecker, as strong as he is, was very easy to convince when it came to fun activities. She found him in the kitchen, making his special dip for some chips.
“Wrecker?”
He turned around and smiled, “Omega! Here, try this.” He gave her a spoonful of his dip and watched his little sister expectantly.
“It’s…” Omega smacked her lips, trying to figure out what ingredients were mixed. “Try adding jalapeños.”
Wrecker’s smile grew wider and he chuckled with zeal as he searched the refrigerator. Omega kept her giggle back, seeing her brother so excited for his food. She moved to his side where there was clean space on the counter and pulled herself up to sit.
“Hey, what do you think about doing something fun today?”
Wrecker glanced at her, cutting off the stems of the peppers. “Sure! What did you have in mind?”
“I want to go to the beach! I haven’t been all summer.”
“Let’s do it! Did you ask Hunter?”
Omega scrunched her nose and crossed her arms. “I did and I have to convince everyone else so we can go.”
Wrecker set the knife down and nudged her shoulder with the backside of his hand. “You’ve got my vote, kid.” He gave her a sweet smile and she hopped off the counter with a laugh. One brother, four more to go.
She left Wrecker and went to find Echo and Tech. She looked in their rooms and found them empty. Omega paused in Tech’s room, trying to figure out where they could be. Walking out, going to attempt the backyard, she bumped into Crosshair.
She apologized. “Have you seen Tech and Echo?”
Crosshair moved his toothpick to the left side and shook his head. “Nope. Why?”
In her ranking, she was saving Crosshair for last. He seemed to be the downer of her brothers and… well, pessimistic. Though, he was conveniently right in front of her.
“I want to go to the beach before school starts tomorrow, but Hunter said I had to convince everyone to go.” Omega looked up at her brother who’s lips curled into a snarky smile, making the hairs on the back of her neck stand up.
“Who have you asked?”
“Just Wrecker.”
Crosshair took his toothpick out and put his hand on her shoulder, “Let’s go find the other two. I think the beach is an excellent idea.”
Crossair, while not one to advocate for such whims like a trip to the beach, will just for today for a sardonic reason. He wanted to take this opportunity to teach Hunter that having a child around will be more fractious than anticipated. Hearing that Hunter sent his little sister on a goose chase for votes means Hunter didn’t really want to go. Perhaps to finish work, but the reason didn’t matter to the mischievous brother.
So, Crosshair helped Omega find Echo and Tech in the garage, making minor checks to both truck engines, and even took the floor to propose a beach day.
His acting was suspiciously good.
“I do not think a beach day right before the first day of school is adequate. It would be wise to spend today preparing.” Tech argued, sitting up on the rolling board and fixing his glasses.
“And I would agree, but see, Omega mentioned she hasn’t gone all summer.”
Echo frowned, looking at Tech with hopeful eyes. “She’s still young, let’s give her a fun summer ending.”
Crosshair watched Tech debate this in his head with a smug smile. He knew Echo would have the heart and it helped win over Tech. The brainiac brother slowly nodded his head. “Alright. I suppose all of us could use a break, too.”
“Excellent,” Crosshair turned around with an excited Omega going straight to Hunter’s bedroom. “I’ll leave the packing to you two.”
As Omega busted Hunter’s door open, she pointed an accusatory finger at him with a victorious grin. “HA! I convinced everyone to go to the beach! You have to keep your promise.”
Hunter, getting over the initial shock of having his door burst open, looked at her with a raised eyebrow. “Everyone?”
Like it was scripted, Crosshair appeared in the doorway behind Omega with a cheeky grin and crossed arms. “Everyone.”
Hunter’s eyes widened before they narrowed on his brother. His lips twitched to frown but he remained neutral. He set aside his laptop and got off his bed, acknowledging his promise and sending Omega to pack up. With her shouting that they were going to the beach with zeal, Hunter came up to Crosshair with the frown he held back.
“Really?”
Crosshair took the toothpick from his mouth, asking innocently, “What?”
“Why did you agree to go to the beach?” Hunter leaned on his heels, crossing his arms in slight annoyance.
“Cause the kid wanted to. Were you trying to do something?”
Hunter huffed, making his brother leave his room to pack. He really didn’t want to deal with Crosshair’s attitude and mock parenting. Hunter should’ve known something like this would happen, but he was hoping the brooding man would’ve stayed… brooding. His mind also wondered how Omega swayed Tech into this, seeing as he would’ve argued that a last minute trip like this would be reckless or not optimal time use. Unless Crosshair had a part to play there, too.
Damn.
Hunter forced these frustrating thoughts to the back burner, wanting to focus on the newly assigned beach trip. He’d have to have a discussion with his brothers about boundaries later.

Would you be thrilled if they told you that a marksman is constantly keeping your heart at the center of the crossair of his rifle, but they refused to tell you if and when they will pull the trigger? Would your daily behaviour change in any way?
Yes. My behavior would change a lot.
First of all I'm sure my resting heart rate would increase by at least 10 beats per minute all day long. Even while asleep. (I assume my heart would still be targeted while I sleep)
Secondly I'm sure I would always be on edge. Loud noises or any sudden movements by people would really affect me.
Lastly, it would probably be too much for my heart to take in the long run, so I'd probably have a heart attack!

The bad batch season two is coming around, and I've been thinking about that post I made once about them hearing one of the Bridger's transmissions in the background at some point, or any reference to them and Baby Ezra at all.
But now, with a whole new season of missions, adventures and building of rebellions, who knows... maybe there's a couple of insurgents, in the far away planet of Lothal, who needs help keeping their baby safe from the Empire for some reason?
I actually had a dream about this once, that he Bad Batch met Ephraim on Lothal and he desperately needed help getting to his pregnant wife who was about to give birth. In the end, Hunter's still in that indecisive stage of earlier in the season, but they have a chat (it doesn't match the timeline at all, but you all suffer with me on this one)
.
Huntah: why do you do this? Why risk your life against the Empire when you've got a wife and child to care about?
Ephraim: that's exactly why, Hunter. We do it so that they don't have to grow in a galaxy we can't bear to live in, and that won't let us live at all. We do it all for them. For Ezra, for Omega, and for everyone who can't fight for themselves just yet.
Mira: And we can only hope, sergeant, that they never have to fight it themselves. But we will do our best to let that spark inside them and teach them to care for others as well.
- she says as she cradles her newborn child, the light of her life, in her arms like it's the most precious thing to ever exist. Ephraim thanks the clones one last time, longing to hold his baby boy close once again; you never know when will be the last time you get to do it -
Ephraim: you let me see my son come to life, and no amount of thank you's can ever be enough. I owe you all very much for allowing me to be there today. Safe travels, and may the force be with you.
.
So yeah, that's the dream. I still think the crossover could and should fit in somewhere, to continue the tradition of the ghost crew being hunt down by Crosshair and saved by the rest of the batch. Plus, the fanart of Omega+baby Ezra would kill me in a good way.
May the force be with all of us if that ever does happen.
