It was charcuterie day here at the Diaz home. I can’t tell you enough, how easy it is to put this lunch together and how little time I spend setting it up. I gave the kids prunes today as their new food. They made faces at first but they’re gone now. I also bought some delectable cream puffs that we never buy. I found them on sale @target when we did our life skill day, Monday. Homeschool is this weird melded life for our family. We focus on some academia most days, and have a wish washy schedule but they’re learning. This week is catch up week for my eldest and I’m quizzing the babies daily, on all that we’ve learned thus far. Reading our school books will happen at night for now, going over the last few weeks of books intentionally. The babies don’t need it but I just want to have reading time and maybe some intentional bible time. We’ll see. I wrote on the blog at the end of October. It was a day I felt okay while being sick. I was so tired at the end of it that I couldn’t edit and it. I assume it reads messy but it was emotional and I have yet to make that time to edit. You know, procrastination is all about emotion 😏. Anyway, I just wanted to share my charcuterie platters. Não desmerecemos o trabalho do MEC, no entanto entendemos que as políticas públicas do governo são para sistemas de ensino do tipo "conveyor belt", ou seja, sistemas que atendem a todos, sem distinção. E deve ser assim. Por outro lado, nossa universidade segue um sistema de ensino focado no indivíduo e suas aptidões. Não temos limites de idade para matrícula, pois entendemos que a busca por conhecimento não está restrita a determinadas faixas etárias. Todos os nossos cursos são baseados em obras clássicas, que podem ser seguidas não só pelas crianças, mas por adolescentes e adultos. Não queremos formar alunos com conhecimentos medianos sobre tudo, queremos formar gênios. Queremos formar líderes. The Well-Trained Mind by Susan Wise Bauer

I read The Well Trained Mind by Susan Wise Bauer, then in its third edition, when I was pregnant with my firstborn. I knew I wanted him to have an amazing, engaging education, and I knew the local schools would not provide that. I love the way Wise Bauer leads parents through not only what to teach, but *how* to teach. Though we don't homeschool, this book has been an invaluable resource for the supplementing we do at home.
