Guessing you’re basing them a bit off of Marble Hornets as well since ya mentioned it? Is any of the other slenderverse media involved? :)

Hi!!! Thank you so so much for the ask!, Now There isnt many other Slenderverse inspos in my slenderman lore / design! But there is a few other things!!

Marble hornets ( of course!), Cordyceps/clickers!, Puffballs/fungi in general! And Green-banded broodsacs!!!

TLDR! This man is HUN-GRY!!!

[ ORIGINS ] Origins of my slenderman have been answered already! But in his lore the reason why he exists, functions and why he collects proxies is a bit different then the one i grew up with!

Ive been in the fandom for 14 years!! When i joined it was just a 'tall man adopts mentally ill serial killer child' kind of thing that i still hold dear, but here is my take! [ images explained ] 1. The slenderfungus origins as a mushroom that feeds on dead matter 2. The slenderfungus spreading as it grows, developing mycelium to consume bigger pray [deer ect.] 3. The bigger scale spread compared to original start area 4. The bigger need for food with growth

The reason Slenderman, or the operator, has / 'collects' proxies is for the simple use of gathering carcasses.

Originally he only needed one or two proxies for this, filling in gaps with animals he would catch. But as his territory and spread grew he needed more. And more. And more. People. So here we are, gathering dead things and using young adults as morbid food delivery guys.

If you are the multiverse mom.. And the original wh au is technically a part of the multiverse, does that mean the original cast is also your children?

#PROBABLY been done before but. the god and john mirroring is just sooooooo good it tickles my brain wonderfully #particularly was thinking abt this bc. ok so i started watching percy jackson. and i never read the books growing up so its new to me #and percy talking about the life long neglect from his father and how all the other kids at camp dont Know their parent. they have gifts #from them and Thats it. and from the way they behave when they are taken/broken (clarisse’s spear breaking. annabeth not wanting to lose her #cap) leads me to believe its one gift and thats all you will probably ever have of your parent #(and the journal and car being the Only things sam&dean have of john are like the gifts in that way) #your parent is a GOD a faceless god that you are to worship and follow without question. to not go against them or slight them in any way #(medusa’s head in the mall to olympus) #and it all made me think of john winchester and how he really doesn’t have that many episodes and hes still so PROMINENT #and in the flashbacks especially hes just barely out of sight out of reach. hes unknowable and will never be within grasp… #and still the chokehold he has on his children…. even in death #and like. i dont believe personally that john being dead led to sam&dean’s tragedies following in every season after that but the neglect #and treatment in life did. it shaped who they are and he let it happen. he created them #/revelation

do i think jung is a nice fit for seol? no, i don't. do i think jung is a fascinating character and a genuinely compelling and even to some extent gritty examination on the damage that growing up under constant surveillance and evaluation has on a person's psyche? absolutely

Mina already! I knew were reading Dracula out of order but I was still surprised that she’s the one doing the emailing today. It’s a deliberately jarring tonal shift when she shows up in the book, a bit less dramatic when she arrives early like this but we still get:

There were spiders on the shoulders of the Faceless Ones in Bedlam. Where were they in UtE? Why no Children of the Spider? The Torment wanted to kill Valkyrie because he sensed the Faceless gene in her, it's safe to assume they hate the Faceless, and with the source rifts prolapsed by Creed's scientists it would have been a great time for them to emerge, turn into spiders the size of parking lots and attack the Faceless Ones and their Shalgoth minions

Landy might have forgotten about those spiders. And I'm not sure if the Children of Spider are still around after the high treason they committed in phase 1.

There is also a really good possibility that the spiders are unconnected to the Children of the Spider and were only added for the creepiness factor. And that the FO ditched them or even tore them apart after realizing they could now access the Darklands and get their favourite pets back: mages. They seem needlessly cruel enough to do that.
