Summary:

“Male remains of a high-status warrior uncovered at Roman fort near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire… believed to be legendary King Arthur.” Albus bowed over the table like a man punched into the gut. “No. It can't – This is not him. Merlin shoved Arthur so far into that godsforsaken lake with Avalon waiting on the other side, they could drain the whole thing and find nothing but wet soil under the murky water. And Yorkshire, that’s- That’s too far north.“ “Is it?” Gellert asked, very gently, covering Albus’ left hand with his own. There was something terribly afraid in his eyes, something as familiar as the howling rainstorms and the feeling of his magic washing over the splinters which Albus got into his fingertips. “How long did we take to ride as far north as we could before stumbling over that druid village? Three weeks, at most? It wasn’t a full moon’s turn. Had Camelot been any further south, we would have taken months to reach the Highlands.”

Immortal Grindeldore, Camelot AU, second installation. Y'all seemed to like the previous brainworm of mine in which I placed these two in Camelot during King Arthur's reign, so here I am, taking this idea all the way into the 1940s when the search for Camelot really kicked off with the onset of modern archaeology. Could I maybe get some help finding a Bucky fic? What I remember is it was a oneshot of a medieval/royal AU with a sort of Merlin/Camelot story where Bucky is king and reader is his wife and queen, but she has magic and has never told him because magic is forbidden. They have a son who’s about 8 years old. They go horseback riding in the forest with Steve as a guard and Bucky hears reader scream and is worried for his family because there’s been sightings of a beast or wolf. Reader has to use her powers to save either Bucky’s life or her son’s, exposing her secret. Bucky banished both her and their son because he’s worried their child might have inherited magic, despite reader’s protests of “He’s your son!” And so on. Then when their son is an adult, there’s an assassination attempt on him and/or reader (By Rumlow I think? Can’t remember.) but he lives and Bucky and reader reunite and reconcile. Their son’s name started with an S I think. I’ve searched so many tags trying to find it. Does this sound familiar to anyone? 😢

Merlin genderswap au where when the gang is hiding Mordred, Merlin gets caught with him by Leon and the knights. They're all "Look! A dark haired child we have never seen before! that must be the druid boy" And Merlin panics and goes full on mama bear. "No! This is my son. I birthed him myself. Don't you dare try to execute him"

So the cover story would probably be something like when Merlin was 11/12 she got SAed by a bandit or a passing knight and gave birth to him young. She left him with Hunith when she first came to Camelot because she didn't know what to expect, but once things stabilized, she wrote home for her son to join her. It was only bad luck that he arrived the day they were looking for the druid boy.

And Mordred's just like "guess I have a mom now" and goes along with it.

Merlin takes Mordred everywhere with her including to work with Arthur. Mordred learns how to handle Arthur and do chores around the castle under Merlin's instruction. When he gets old enough, he starts training to become a knight.

He now gets to accompany his mom and Arthur. And while he is a knight of Camelot, he still has to answer to his mom. So it's just Merlin bossing him around the campsite and making him help with dinner. And he does it because it's his mom and he has been doing this stuff his whole life anyway.

The knights try to make fun of him for it but he's just like "???????? Of course I'm helping with dinner and setting up bed rolls. In fact, why aren't you?"

And Merlin is just so proud of her boy

Summary: Gellert comes back home to Camelot in the weeping rain to a row between Master Merlin and King Arthur. Nothing new there, though this time, a dragon is dead, the King is injured, and Gellert would simply like to squirrel away Albus from under Merlin's watchful eyes, thank you very much.
