Water and Spirit
“I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” (Matthew 3:11) As we follow both the Old Testament story of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the New Testament story of Jesus as an infant, a young boy, and a man, we find that they are parallel stories. They…

Abraham, the Patriarch
In Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, Abraham is a venerated patriarch whose relationship with God provides the foundational story for God's beneficial relationship with humanity. According to biblical tradition (and some say myth), Abraham (c. 20th century BCE) was born in or near the city of Ur in Mesopotamia, most likely in southern Chaldea. Abraham (originally named Abram), married his half-sister, Sarah (originally named Sarai) and began a long journey from Mesopotamia to Haran, and then later to Canaan and Egypt. Detailed in the book of Genesis, chapters 12–25, Abraham's name comes to mean "Father of a multitude" and/or "the friend of God." His journey, as depicted in the Bible, is a long and dramatic one, with Abraham and Sarah encountering many different cultures, customs, and people groups along the Fertile Crescent from Mesopotamia to Egypt.
The Traditional Story of Abraham
The Bible notes that at age 75, Abraham received a divine invitation or calling from God (Yahweh) to travel to a distant land where God would reward him beyond measure. Genesis 12:1–3 states:
I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. (12:2-3)
Despite the inherent dangers of traveling at such an old age and through unknown and unfriendly territory, Abraham trusted God and took his entire family (including his father and nephew Lot) and personal possessions on his trek to this promised land.
The first part of the trip purportedly took them to Haran, in northern Mesopotamia, where his father, Terah, died at age 205. In the second part of the trip, Abraham's caravan entered and toured through Canaan, where God appeared to Abraham, saying, "To your offspring I will give this land" (12:7). In celebration and worship, Abraham built an altar to God and then "went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east" (12:8). As earlier, Genesis notes that Abraham built another altar to God before moving again to the Negev, southwest of the Dead Sea.

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12:1‭-‬8‬ ‭(NLT)‬. “The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” So Abram departed as the Lord had instructed, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran. He took his wife, Sarai, his nephew Lot, and all his wealth—his livestock and all the people he had taken into his household at Haran—and headed for the land of Canaan. When they arrived in Canaan, Abram traveled through the land as far as Shechem. There he set up camp beside the oak of Moreh. At that time, the area was inhabited by Canaanites. Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “I will give this land to your descendants.” And Abram built an altar there and dedicated it to the Lord, who had appeared to him. After that, Abram traveled south and set up camp in the hill country, with Bethel to the west and Ai to the east. There he built another altar and dedicated it to the Lord, and he worshiped the Lord.”
“Learning to Walk by Faith” by In Touch Ministries:
“Despite our faults and failures, God loves us and works through every willing heart.”
“When the Bible tells us about a great man or woman of faith, the Lord in His kindness also often shows us the person’s weakness and failings. For example, let’s look at Abraham. Like any one of us, he had faults. He sinned. He made mistakes. Still, God loved him and accomplished great things through his life.
When the Lord spoke, Abraham listened. Just imagine what promises and blessings he would have missed if he’d failed to pay attention. (See Genesis 12:1-8; Genesis 15:1-5; Genesis 17:1-4.) Abraham’s conversations with God teach us what living by faith looks like:
Listening to God. When we recognize God’s voice, we’ll have assurance about what to do and where to go.
Obeying God. Obeying God shows we really trust Him, and each time we obey Him, our faith grows stronger.
Depending on God. Human nature wants to be self-sufficient, but we desperately need God’s wisdom, strength, and help.
Waiting on God. Our willingness to patiently let God move in His own way reaps great blessings—and prevents big messes.
Acknowledging and learning from our failures. The Bible tells us that God exalts the humble (Matthew 23:12).
Which of these do you struggle with? Ask God to help you move forward, trusting Him and listening for His voice.”

The time of Jacob's (Daryl's/Israel's) trouble and Daniel's 70th week (Revelation) Part 2
Part 1 here
Tara at Oceanside comes across Rachel. Thanks again to @galadrieljones
Tumblr media
Because of her original connection, we know that Daryl is a representation of Jacob, who was tricked into marriage with Leah first, then seven years later married the love of his life, Rachel.
Well, here we get a representation of Daryl (Tara) and Rachel.
Tumblr media
They shadow the future and past through other characters, and Rachel is considerably younger than Tara, a representation of Daryl and Beth. Not that there's anything wrong with that, so don't @ me. 😆 😆
Jacob had the dream about the ladder to heaven, commonly called Jacob's ladder 🪜 in Beersheba.
The ladder signifies the "bridge" between Heaven and Earth (Jesus/Beth) that will come through Abraham's line and the tribes of Israel - from Dan to Beersheba.
Back on the Windsor bridge, before Tara falls off, we see Health pick up a Beer-sheba 🍺 bottle.
We see a ladder at Oceanside, where Tara (Daryl/Jacob) meets Rachel...
Tumblr media
All the bridge symbolism in the show points to Jacob's ladder 🪜 and Beersheba, the line of Abraham and the cure to come through that bloodline (Christ/Beth)
Jacob has his name changed by God to Israel, and while it refers to Daryl, it's also about the larger nation/bloodline.
The term "Time of Jacob's trouble" that I put in the title is just one more way of saying, Daniel's 70th week or the book of Revelation. This is huge topic theologically but at it's basis, they are all about the 7 year period that makes up the biblical end times called the Tribulation.
During this time period, God turns his focus back to Israel (Daryl), which is why now is the season of Daryl/Beth's story.
Both Daryl (Jacob/Israel) and Beth's (house of) bloodline combined are that "bridge" to a cure that undoes the fall and connects heaven and earth again.
Jacob, after Beersheba, travels through the area called Bethel, which means house of God. Daryl and Beth combined - Bethyl reconnects man to the house of God with a cure. Daryl when he finds Beth will have Joseph symbolism around him because he will be the "father" of the cure.
Tumblr media
As @bookqueenrules mentioned, in her last post, the working title of DD2 was 'Pilgrim'. The path that Jacob takes is known as Jacob's journey.
We see Abraham in the show drink beer when he arrives at the "promised land" (Alexandria)
Tumblr media
And he talks to Michonne about living and dying by the sword (the word of God/bible)
Tumblr media
We also see Abraham drink DAN-ville bridge whiskey while in the "promised land"
Tumblr media
Abraham gives us a depiction of the northernmost tribe of Israel -Dan when he drinks the "spirit" called Danville.
How do you get into the house of God? Through the cure that comes from Abraham's line - Dan to Beersheba.
Next to the ladder (Jacob's ladder) with Tara at Oceanside 🪜 we see a kite.
Emily posted about a kite (bridge to heaven) saying I AM WHO I AM," which is the name of God, and it represents the cure (world health organisation) and showing the apple 🍎 tree of the fall. Separation.
I am who I am cures the fall and separation.
Tumblr media
We see a representation of this fall symbolism with Rick and Michonne in 615.
Tumblr media
Michonne (Eve) picks up the apple 🍎 and eats it. The clock is pointing to 6,7, and 2
Tumblr media
672 in strong concordance, which is a concordance of biblical names and numbers and their meaning. 672 means to depart.
Separate, fall from God.
A hint to the fall and departure from God at the fall.
We see Michonne give the fruit to Rick (Adam). He eats and says, "This is GOOD."
A call back to Genesis when God says his creation was good before the fall.
Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!
Apple symbolism is both a separation symbol and a reunion symbol because the good (perfect) cure (Jesus/Beth) restores the separation.
Michonne says it is good...because Jesus came through.
Tumblr media
Going backwards from this apple moment, Jesus is introduced. So the backwards timeline is fall, then Jesus making it good. Through the line of Dan to Beersheba.
Going forwards we have a representation of the end times Jesus pulls through (cure arrives), and then Negan, a version of the Antichrist, is introduced.
Abraham asks Who's Negan? The answer...Ding dong HELLS bells 🔔
Tumblr media
When Negan is introduced, he makes everyone kneel before him, which is a depiction of worship...
Tumblr media
Revelation 13.4
People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, 'Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?'
Negan is a charismatic monster, kind of likeable even when being so evil. This is actually one of the traits that the antichrist is said to possess. He will be charming, a gifted communicator, and military leader.
When Negan is introduced in season 7, we see him tell Rick that this is the new world order...
Tumblr media
The antichrist creates a global system over which he rules, and he takes everything.
He makes everyone get the mark of the beast or be killed. We saw a depiction of this going backwards to Alexandria (Revived Roman Empire) with the "A" stamp on the right hand and the W mark on the foreheads of the wolves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jessie says, "You're one of us now", her horse shoe necklace is related to the four-horseman of Revelation which i talk about here.
While he rises in Europe, his rule reaches worldwide. 🌎
Tumblr media
Emily in Europe with her "Obey world wide" beanie.
Emily at the Anne Frank museum (Annelies Marie Frank was a German-born Jewish girl who kept a diary in which she documented life in hiding under Nazi persecution during the German occupation of the Netherlands)
It's no coincidence that Daryl (Jacob/Israel) was taken prisoner by Negan but refused to bow, he represents end times Israel.
Tumblr media
If Daryl didn't escape, we can assume he would have been killed by Negan for not bowing down, bending the knee.
At the halfway mark, into the 7 year treaty (tribulation) that Antichrist makes with Jacob (Daryl/Israel), he breaks it and goes after Jacob's line (Israel) to persecute and kill them.
This is depicted by Negan killing Abraham. Antichrist goes after his line, that's why he was the one picked to die.
Tumblr media
The show is depicting all aspects of the end times combined, through many characters, while Beth and Rick have Christ returning symbolism, they also have Antichrist symbolism. Beth with her mortal head wound is a dead (pardon the pun) giveaway.
I've already talked about how Negan is a version of the antichrist here, he represents antichrist/Satan who leads the battle of Armageddon against God and loses. He then gets locked up for the Millennium and let back out for "a short time".
We have seen this play out in the waling dead when Negan lost the all out war, was locked up, then released and now in Dead City has become a leader again.
The episode Morning Star 10.11 gave us more end time symbolism, when the antichrist attacks Jacob/Israel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The bible gives us the meaning and location of Hilltop when Jesus says...
Rev 22.16
“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”
Morning star (Jesus/Beth) is a cure reference coming through (Daryl/Jacob's) line of Israel. Connected to the star of Kind David, who was also in the line of Abraham.
I've talked about this imagery with Emily before here and here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hilltop here, was a representation of Israel (Jacob's line) being attacked. With the wings of the Archangel Michael having Daryl's (Jacob's) back.
Before they go out to fight, we hear Eugene singing about the end of the world...
Tumblr media
Antichrist tries to kill Jacob/Israel but also anyone who won't take the mark of the beast.
Alpha be-heading's gave us a depiction of this verse...
Rev 20.4
I saw thrones, and sitting on those thrones were the ones who had been given the right to judge. I also saw the souls of the people who had their heads cut off because they had told about Jesus and preached God's message. They were the same ones who had not worshiped the beast or the idol, and they had refused to let its mark be put on their foreheads or hands. They will come to life and rule with Christ for 1,000 years.
Tumblr media
I will leave it here for today, but will come back soon to talk on fire symbolism, and the days of Noah.
Beth is Valenica (town in Spain) meaning Strong; healthy.

“They were living to themselves. Self with its hopes and promises and dreams, still had hold of them; but the Lord began to fulfill their prayers.
They had asked for contrition, and had surrendered for it to be given them at any cost, and He sent them sorrow.
They had asked for purity, and He sent them thrilling anguish.
They had asked to be meek, and
…He had broken their hearts.
They had asked to asked to be dead to the world, and He slew all their living hopes.
They had asked to be made like unto Him, and He placed them in the furnace - sitting by as the “refiner and purifier of silver” until they should reflect His image.
They had asked to lay hold of His cross, and when He had reached it to them
…it lacerated their hands.
They had asked they knew not what, nor how, but He had taken them at their word, and granted them all their petitions.
They were hardly willing to follow Him so far, or to draw so nigh to Him.
They had upon them an awe and fear, as Jacob at Bethel, or Eliphaz in the night visions, or as the apostles when they thought that they had seen a spirit, and knew not that it was Jesus.
They could almost pray Him to depart from them, or to hide His awfulness.
They found it easier to obey than to suffer -
…to do than to give up,
to bear the cross
…than to hang upon it.
But they cannot go back.
For they have come too near the unseen cross, and its virtues have pierced too deeply within them.
He is fulfilling to them His promise, “if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto Me.” (John 12:32)
But now at last their turn has come. Before, they had only heard of the mystery, but now they feel it. He has fastened on them His look of love, as He did on Mary and Peter, and they can but choose to follow.
Little by little, from time to time , by flitting gleams, the mystery of His cross shines out upon them. They behold Him lifted up, they gaze on the glory which rays from the wounds of His holy passion.
And as they gaze they advance, and are changed into His likeness, and His name shines out through them, for He dwells in them.
They live alone with Him, in unspeakable fellowship.
Willing to lack what others own (and what they might have had)…
to be unlike all,
so that they are
only like Him.
Such, are they in all ages, "who follow the Lamb whitherso-ever he goeth."
Had they chosen for themselves - or their friends chosen for them - they would have chosen otherwise.
They would have been brighter here, but less glorious in His Kingdom.
They would have had Lot's portion, not Abraham's.
If they had halted anywhere - if God had taken off His hand and let them stray back - what would they have not lost? What forfeits in the resurrection?
But He stayed them up,
…even against themselves 🙌🏻
Many a time their foot had well nigh slipped; but He in mercy held them up.
Now, even in this life, they know that all He did was done well.
It was good to suffer here, that they might reign hereafter - to bear the cross below - for they shall wear the cross above.
And not their will - but His was done - on them and in them.

Jacob’s Dream Domenico Fetti (Italian; 1588/89–1623) possibly 1613 or 1614 Oil on wood panel Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit, Michigan
And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of. And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not. And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven. And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first. And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the Lord be my God: And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee. Bom dia
And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land. And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him. And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon. And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel.

THERE IS AN OLD BOOK “PALESTINA EX” MONUMENTIS VETERIBUS ILLUSTRATA” which debunks the occupation fallacy
“The book is written in Latin. In 1695. Rilandi was describing what was then called Palestine.
The author Adriani Rilandi is a geographer, cartographer, traveler, philologist, he knew several European languages, Arabic, ancient Greek, Hebrew.
He visited almost 2,500 settlements mentioned in the Bible. The research was conducted as follows:
*He first created the map of Palestine. He then designated every settlement mentioned in the Bible or the Talmud with its original name.
* If the original was Jewish, it meant "pasuk" (a suggestion in the Holy Scriptures that mentioned the name. )
* If the original was Roman or Greek, the connection was in Latin or Greek.
In the end, he made a population census by settlements.
Here are the main conclusions and some facts:
* The country is mainly empty, abandoned, sparsely populated, the main population is Jerusalem, Akko, Tsfat, Jaffa, Tveria and Gaza.
* Most of the population is Jews, almost everyone else is Christians, very few Muslims, mostly Bedouins.
* The only exception is Nablus (now Shchem), where approximately 120 people from the Muslim family Natsha and approximately 70 "shomronims" (Samaritans).
* In Nazareth, the capital of Galilee, lived approximately 700 people - all Christians.
* In Jerusalem there are about 5,000 people, almost all Jews and a few Christians.
* In 1695, everyone knew that the origin of the country was Jewish.
* There is not a single settlement in Palestine that has Arabic roots in its name.
* Most settlements have Jewish originals, and in some cases Greek or Roman Latin.
* Apart from the city of Ramla, there is no Arab settlement that has an original Arabic name. Jewish, Greek or Latin names that have been changed to Arabic that don't make any sense in Arabic. In Arabic, there is no meaning in names like: Akko, Haifa, Jaffa, Nablus, Gaza or Jenin, and names like Ramallah, al-Khalil (Hebron), al-Quds (Jerusalem) - they do not have philological or historical Arabic roots. So, for example, in 1696, Ramallah was called Bethel (Beit El, the House of God), Hebron was called Hebron and the Cave of Mahpel was called El-Khalil (the nickname of Abraham) by the Arabs.
* Relandi mentions Muslims only as nomadic Bedouins who came to the cities as seasonal workers in agriculture or construction.
* About 550 people lived in Gaza, half of them Jews and half Christians. Jews were successful in agriculture, especially in vineyards, olives and wheat, Christians were engaged in trade and transportation.
* Jews lived in Tveria and Tsfat, but their occupation is not mentioned, except for the traditional fishing in Kineret.
* In the village of Um El Fahm, for example, lived 10 families, all Christians (about 50 people). There stood a small Maronite church.
The book completely refutes theories about "Palestinian traditions", "Palestinian people" and leaves almost no link between the land and the Arabs who even stole the land's Latin name (Palestine) and took it for themselves.
Book by Adrian Relandi (1676-1718) about Palestine, published in Utrecht in 1714.” [Summery by https://blogs.timesofisrael.com/whose-land-is-this/]

Indeed, only his ancestor, Bethel Abraham, had the right to trade with a secret existence like the God of War!
As for whether Mr. Door was willing to proceed with the deal, Verdu had never considered it. From his point of view, anyone who was in an exiled and sealed state would undoubtedly want to escape, even if they had to pay a huge price!
“Yes, great God of War.” After pondering for a moment, Verdu agreed.
He then changed the ritual and added the sacrifice and bestowment parts of a ritual. He then used a metal dagger to pierce through his arm and let out dark red blood.
What a dumbass. He has a perfectly safe alternative with Klein and yet, here he is, giving blood to a god he doesn't know a lot about. That's one of the biggest no-no's in mysticism!! Your blood is precious!
Dumbass.

10th July >> Mass Readings (Except USA)
Monday, Fourteenth Week in Ordinary Time
(Liturgical Colour: Green: A (1))
First Reading Genesis 28:10-22 Jacob's dream of the ladder at Bethel.
Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Haran. When he had reached a certain place he passed the night there, since the sun had set. Taking one of the stones to be found at that place, he made it his pillow and lay down where he was. He had a dream: a ladder was there, standing on the ground with its top reaching to heaven; and there were angels of God going up it and coming down. And the Lord was there, standing over him, saying, ‘I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac. I will give to you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. Your descendants shall be like the specks of dust on the ground; you shall spread to the west and the east, to the north and the south, and all the tribes of the earth shall bless themselves by you and your descendants.
‘Be sure that I am with you; I will keep you safe wherever you go, and bring you back to this land, for I will not desert you before I have done all that I have promised you.’
Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, ‘Truly, the Lord is in this place and I never knew it!’ He was afraid and said, ‘How awe-inspiring this place is! This is nothing less than a house of God; this is the gate of heaven!’ Rising early in the morning, Jacob took the stone he had used for his pillow, and set it up as a monument, pouring oil over the top of it. He named the place Bethel, but before that the town was called Luz.
Jacob made this vow, ‘If God goes with me and keeps me safe on this journey I am making, if he gives me bread to eat and clothes to wear, and if I return home safely to my father, then the Lord shall be my God. This stone I have set up as a monument shall be a house of God.’
The Word of the Lord

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 90(91):1-4,14-15
R/ My God, in you I trust.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High and abides in the shade of the Almighty says to the Lord: ‘My refuge, my stronghold, my God in whom I trust!’
R/ My God, in you I trust.
It is he who will free you from the snare of the fowler who seeks to destroy you; he will conceal you with his pinions and under his wings you will find refuge.
R/ My God, in you I trust.
Since he clings to me in love, I will free him; protect him for he knows my name. When he calls I shall answer: ‘I am with you,’ I will save him in distress.
R/ My God, in you I trust.
Gospel Acclamation cf. John 6:63,68

Gospel Matthew 9:18-26 'Your faith has restored you to health'.
While Jesus was speaking, up came one of the officials, who bowed low in front of him and said, ‘My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her and her life will be saved.’ Jesus rose and, with his disciples, followed him. Then from behind him came a woman, who had suffered from a haemorrhage for twelve years, and she touched the fringe of his cloak, for she said to herself, ‘If I can only touch his cloak I shall be well again.’ Jesus turned round and saw her; and he said to her, ‘Courage, my daughter, your faith has restored you to health.’ And from that moment the woman was well again.
When Jesus reached the official’s house and saw the flute-players, with the crowd making a commotion he said, ‘Get out of here; the little girl is not dead, she is asleep.’ And they laughed at him.
