Love your art so much. Will you show us cool nature pics from your country? I'm literally so stoned I forgot where you live sorry.
Sure anon, why not. I'm not a photographer so the quality of these is kind of slushy at best. I like nature and wander around a little bit, but I rarely hike properly, so I don't go to that many scenic places. These are mostly from regular walks. Long post warning.
Summers are short but very green, and since we're at the arctic circle we get sunlight around the clock. Some of these were taken at midnight or early morning small hours. Most of Finland is very sparsely populated and covered in boreal forests.

Finland is a very watery country, lots of lakes in particular.

Sometimes you get intense sunsets

And winters are very cold, snowy and last about six months. In summer we have midnight sun and in winter there's the polar night to counter it. Around late December sun only rises for about two hours per day where I live so it's very dark for many, many weeks on end (which is wonderful if you get seasonal depression like I do). But sometimes the weather and lighting are just right and you get this ethereal pastel effect that I love.

I think smartphones-as-computing-platform have peaked (and maybe already jumped the shark?) for any practical purposes. There are only 3 things smartphones need from here on out: better battery life, more storage/user expandable storage, and better ergonomics

#making an automatic watering system w arduino#have it flashed to trigger the relays already for a variable amt of time#which at the end of the day is basically all it takes + scheduling#but now ofc its growing its own potential spinoffs...#i wanna add a BLE module to be able to control the scheduling from like a phone#which will then also require some minimal data storage...#then the big question is rly how to power it...#its probably gonna b within an extension cord length from the back door but dont wanna deal w unplugging it for rain etc#so maybe like a weatherproof case w solar & a battery? but then ive gotta figure out the best way of battery-izing it....#lithium seems like an overkill unless its like maybe lifepo#& generally prefer lifepo over cobalt etc for safety#but then ive gotta figure out how to add a charging circuit to it....#anyway then once i have the app controlling scheduling i can also start integrating it into my home organizing/etc app?#& ideally be able to like have a couple nodes like that?#ah fuck also gotta figure out a case#maybe just start w a nice n dirty project box til i eventually make a custom enclosure/PCB backplate for the assemblage#maybe just put it next to our sprinkler box & just make the tubes longer so i dont have to fuck around w batteries for this?#starting to convince myself of that idea tbh#rn the relayboard has 4 guys...might b better to just have this as the master instead of having nodes so just get more relays#centralize & dont have to deal w synching headaches#maybe get like a multiplexer? not like this would necessarily need multiple at a time 1 at a time wouldnt b the end of the world#& i have some cheap moisture sensors but dont rly trust em tbh#esp w plants i intend to eat#eventually tho maybe link some sensors into the system#tho weather alone is probably enough to figure out#oh! huh how would i do that....#dont wanna have a whole ass wifi connection on the arduino#or like parsing web results on there...#& i dont rly wanna only know when connecting to my phone...#so that seems to point towards some client that checks the weather prediction like once a day & sends that/consequences to arduino?

i still find it mindboggling that everyone was furious about apple removing the headphone jack and then just went ahead and bought the new phones anyway. like you could have just gotten a different phone. every other brand had headphone jacks for years before they started copying apple. i wasn't forced to get a phone without one until 2022.

From 10 years ago, we lived through the indie revival of SNES and NES games. Made by people who were kids in the 80s.
Now, we've been living through the indie revival of N64 and PS1 games. Made by people who were kids in the 90s.
What does that mean, then, for what's next? PS2 games? By people who were kids in the 2000s?
No.
Because as the capacity for graphics improved, so did the base workload required to fulfill them. No three-person team can just crank out a game succeeding the size and style of Jak and Daxter or Ratchet and Clank or even Kingdom Hearts, especially when accounting for the level of polish expected of modern releases as well.
With their expansive levels and intricate animations and their studio voice-acting, and their *variety?*
By people who were kids in the 2000s, then, what does that mean for what's next?
It means PSP games.

I'm staring to think that my phone is just anti-me at this point. Is it the name ya dipshit? Do you not like the name Puffy? Or did you decide to embody that and just wanna puff outta existence?
I've had 3 phones before this. All samsung phones, unfortunately can't remember their models but 2 are dead (they're very old tbf cant get em to start up anymore. in fact i dont remember where i put their corpses at but theyre in a box) Named em Pinkie and Polka.
1 is still alive and kicking, older than the current piece of shit that I have and yet it's alive, well, and functional with barely no problems, didn't even had to send it to repairs that one (it's currently my mom's phone now) Named that one Pearl.
And ofc my current one is giving me the most problems. The problem child of the family, I'll be introducing my phones and just, these are my children, Pinkie, Polka, and Pearl. And this is their sibling, Puffy. I'd disown Puffy if I could, but alas, I'm too broke to buy a new phone.
