Sometimes it was hard when Cory filmed, you were supportive, being his fiancée and all. Though you never revealed yourself to his audience, simply to avoid any criticism or issues with hateful people online. Nonetheless, you two spent time when you had a chance, he would film videos and this would leave you to find something to do, often you’d make him food or snacks, bribing them to his desk and he would always be sweet and thank you for it. Cory never once made you feel unwelcome and made it clear if you needed anything, he would be right by your side so come get him if he needed. Though you tended not to do much around days like that, even if he was okay with it.

Today felt it would be the same but it was rather calming, the sun shining into the room, shining down on the thick blanket that covered both. Legs tangle together and peace filling the room, soft breathing and perfect comfort to balance the day. You couldn’t help but stretch out your body, in hopes of not waking up Cory, legs and arms stretched out before you felt arms wrap around you. “Good Morning…” you whispered softly with a smile as Cory did too. “Morning.” He said. Something about his sleepy morning tone, really sent butterflies into your stomach. Considering yourself lucky to be able to have Cory by your side always. “Did I wake you?” You asked as you couldn’t help but sink into his warmth. “Yeah but don’t worry about babe, you’re fine.” He assured before raising up, taking in the morning with you. “Do you plan to film today?” You asked as he shrugs. “No. I was actually wanting to see if you wanted to spend some time together?” He asked as he smiled at you.

The joy radiated into your body, sending a million fireworks of excitement into your heart. Time with Cory was always well spent, outside of YouTube, the two of you tended to your private lives, keeping social media to a limit. Sure, both of you made sure people knew you were happy in love, but never once outed yourselves to the world. Cory didn’t mind, he loves you, he would want people to know but if you weren’t ready to face his millions of fans, he’d respect that too. Cory in fact treasured life with you, he wanted to marry you, he asked you to be his wife, this was far more important to him than anything, you. Fans knew Cory had been engaged but he never outed your name when he announced it, there were some good and bad comments made but either way, he wanted you the way you wanted him.

“Spend time? Babe. Of course. How could I not spend time with you?” You giggled slightly, leaning over and placing a small kiss against his cheek. Cory let out a small laugh before he stood from the bed, he would wanna make today well worth it. “Let’s get ready.” He hums.

Both you and Cory decided to go out for Breakfast, which was refreshing for you to have a breakfast date with your fiancé. Which brought on the memory of the time you guys went to get breakfast together as friends, now you got to come back but this time, as lovers. “I know what you order.” Cory said as you hugged him tightly. “You remember huh?” You asked as he chuckled, nodding his head. “I do.” He nods his head. It meant a lot he remembered even the smallest things about you, including your favorite dish to order from the menu when you went to eat together. “I’m glad you remember that though. What else do you remember?” You raised a brow as he chuckled. “Maybe the time you walked into my video and literally tripped trying to rush out.” He said as you groaned. “Okay- besides the ones full of disasters.” You said as he laughed, gently ruffling your hair.

You and Cory had gotten some breakfast as you sat at the table, recalling memories of the two of you and the times you both spent together. Sharing some laughs and a few mentions of how your engagement was going together. “So. About the new video, spooky scary Sunday’s?” You raised a brow. Cory knew how interested you were in watching them, sometimes he’d even find you sitting on the couch, cozy against the pillows and watching it on the living room tv. “Ah. Rushing me to make one?” He joked as you shake your head, a little worried he thought you were rushing. Thankfully he let out a laugh and told you not to worry about it. “I’m only playin with you.” He nods his head, sigh of relief had left your lips before you tended to the coffee.

“So. Am I still getting to see her?” You asked excitedly as Cory chuckled, nodding his head towards your question. “Yes. My mom is pretty excited about seeing you. She’s been asking me all about her, Y/n.” He said as you clapped your hands happily. Cory introduced you to his mom in the middle of your relationship, which you were nervous but his family was fond of you. It moved to the two of you getting engaged and she was very excited to know you’d be joining their family and living a healthy and happy marriage with her son. “I’ve been so ready!”. Cory hums in response to your words, he was happy you and his mom got along, happy that you two held a bond and he enjoyed a few times he found you in the kitchen learning new recipes from her.

“Which means she’s coming with me to find a dress, along with your sister? Right?” You asked. Cory nods his head again as he laughed as the squeal that left your lips. “She’s gonna love it. She’ll find you beautiful in anything Y/n!” Cory assured your nerves deep down. It did matter to you that his mother and sister would be there when you found a dress to try on. You loved hearing what they truly thought of things, especially on such a big day with Cory. “Still feels a little unbelievable that we tied the knot.” You sighed softly, leaning back into the chair. “Really? Had no faith?” He raised a brow as you shake your head. “It’s not that baby! I’m just saying it’s crazy remembering the time you confessed to me, how we dated and moved to engagement, now I’ll be your wife. It feels so…unreal.” You shrugged, hoping he would get what you meant.

Flashback

The snow fell from the sky, gently hitting the ground as it covered the once clear surface a pretty white color. Piles and piles of snow would be here and to admit, you were happy, excited even. The fireplace at your house was keeping you warm, waiting for Cory who took longer than usual to show to your house, which was crazy cause he usually was always on time to get you for nights out. You’d hope he didn’t stand you up, or forget you in some way. But that little voice in your head told you that Cory was filming a video for YouTube, he didn’t have time to come get you. But the voice was knocked away when the door opened and Cory walked in, he looked like he held a large piece of concern in his mind. He wasn’t looking as cheerful as usual. “Hey…you okay?” You asked as Cory had knocked from his senses. “Me? Ah. Yeah I’m alright.” He tried to assure. You’d been friends with Cory long enough to know something was wrong. Did he find out you held a crush on him. “Cory?” You gently placed your hand on his shoulder. He had cleared his throat. “So have you seen the snow? Come check it out!” He said as he grabbed your wrist, dragging you from the house. He was right, there was a lot of snow. Your eyes glanced at the small snow that landed on Cory’s hair, a small laugh passing your lips before Cory had kissed you. A heavy blush on your face, but no complaints, no fight. You had kissed him back, it felt right. “I love you…I know you feel something for me and I feel something for you.” He looked at your eyes for an answer. The blush, the smile, the sparkle in your eyes gave it away.

Years passed, the relationship was a steady boat, going good. With the support about Cory’s YouTube career as he supported your dreams. It was a perfect fit, the two of you spent every inch and amount of time together. This time, it would be different. Cory took you out on a date night and you agreed, it felt normal at first, maybe you’d just have dinner together and go home. But he had other places to take you, and there was no complaints. “Look Cory!” You pointed to the distance, in awe about the sight in front of you, wondering why Cory wasn’t responding, you turned around, gasping at the sight of Cory on one knee. The small velvet box open to reveal the ring, he was really asking you?. It was an honor to see this, to know Cory wanted to reach this level with you. “Cory…” you mumbled as you felt tears fall. “Y/n. Will you do me the honors of becoming my wife? I love you and everything about you. And I admire the support and care you show me…” he said. You nodded your head before Cory stood up, he quickly caught you in his arms as he chuckled lightly.

“Oh so you wanna remind me of the tears I had to calm for a week?” He asked as you playfully hit him. He rolled his eyes playfully before placing his hand on yours, admiring the ring he placed on your finger, making you his from that moment forward.

When it was the afternoon, you couldn’t help but glance out the window as Cory kept his eyes on the road. “What if we went to buy some snacks from the store?” You asked as he raised a brow. “We have food at home?” He said as you chuckled, turning over to glance at him. “I meant for a movie night. We haven’t had one of those for a long while?” You asked. Cory liked the idea of having you snuggled up and warm with him, watching movies you both either enjoyed together or disliked. “Store it is.”

Cory made his stop at the store, the two of you inside as he glanced at the items on the shelves. “Okay we have your popcorn, drinks, candy, what else could you want?” He asked as you pointed. “Swedish fish. We ate the last bag like a week ago.” You shrugged as he smiled, grabbing the bag as he placed it into the cart. “What else now?” He raised a brow as you shrugged. Seemed you both got snacks you liked. “I’m gonna go find some comfy pajamas for us, at least pants.” You walked away as Cory took the cart, scanning for possible more snacks.

Reaching the clothes you glanced at the pajamas that both you and Cory might like to wear. Sometimes, it was a little rough finding them because you were a bit indecisive about it. Cory knew it and that’s why he didn’t rush when he noticed you walked off to tend to find clothes to wear. “Did you find anything?” He asked as he wrapped his arms around you. “I found these? They feel cozy.” You smiled as you held up the shirt and pants. Cory chuckled before nodding his head. “Sounds good. I got stuff to bake with cause you always want to make something.” He said as he gestured towards the cart. A happy squeal passed your lips, you couldn’t wait to make the most of it.

Cory parked the car at home, the two of you getting out and teaming up to take the bags inside of the house. It was all laid out what you’d do together, aside from all the hard work even baking would take, Cory didn’t mind helping you since this was something that always brought a smile to your face. As long as you were happy, Cory was happy and he wouldn’t mind giving you a reason to smile. “Alright!” You said as you placed bags onto the countertop with him. “Shower first?” You asked as Cory smiled. “What’s with you and showers?” He asked. “The water! Babe it’s warm! It’s usually freezing outside” you giggled as Cory nods his head, kissing your lips gently. “Shower first. I’ll get stuff for the movie and we can get to work.” He stated as you walked upstairs to grab some clothes.

Cory had waited for you, watching you walk upstairs before he turned to the living room. Cory went to grab the blanket you found rather cozy, pillows he knew you both couldn’t go without. He was getting everything cozy and ready for you while you had gone to shower. Yet his eyes couldn’t help but lay onto the pictures lined up if you and his family, any form of family photos made him happy and knowing you joined the picture, he was happy, ready, he was excited. Making you his wife, and just in a few more months, you’ll be his, forever.

He turned back to setting up your cozy space for movies, sighing softly. Waiting and waiting. But thankfully time didn’t pass on too much because you walked towards him in the pajamas he bought for you guys, your hair dried up and the smile on your face. “It was refreshing, are you gonna shower next? There’s more hot water.” You hugged him, glancing at him as he looked at you. “Yeah. I’m gonna go shower, don’t worry.” Cory says as he pats your head. He stepped back before walking to take a shower himself. Your phone buzzed as you walked into the kitchen, glancing at the contact name. ‘Berlin🔥’. You reached for it, clicking the green button before pressing the phone to your ear.

Y: “Why are you calling at this hour Berlin? What could’ve made you call me despite not saying anything to me today.”

B: “Well damn! Sound happy or something!”

Y: “Boy I’m ready to have quality time with my man. I’m excited.”

B: “I was just calling to check on y’all, see how y’all were doing.”

Y: “Good. Went on a date, had some fun with Cory today. We’re at home now about to prepare for a movie night.”

B: “Damn I don’t wanna interrupt, call you later.”

A small giggle left your lips as Cory made his way to the kitchen. “Alright.” He said as you smiled. “Let’s get it ready for movies” you said as Cory nods his head. The two of you had grabbed popcorn, placing it into the microwave as you opened up the different candies you’d put with it once it’s not popping. Cory took out the ingredients from the bag, glancing at what you’d use to make brownies. “You can pick the movie.” He turned to you, you gently smiled before walking to the living to find a movie to play. Cory stood by the microwave waiting and waiting for the popcorn.

It felt like time was taking forever but the popcorn was poured into the bowl, some candies topped the popcorn as you took left the large bowl on the counter. Moving to the brownies, you’d put ingredients to the mixer as Cory back hugged you, kissing your head. “This would make a good video.” He joked lightly as you giggled, focusing on your measurements. “I agree actually. Maybe some other time?” You asked. You felt serious and Cory was a little shocked by your sudden change. “You sure? I’d never make you do it babe.” He assured. “I’m sure Cory. I don’t see why not.” You shrugged before turning the mixer on.

He took his time holding you, letting you watch the mixer go before you’d stop it, taking the bowl and pouring the chocolate mix into the pan. “Still not letting go?” You asked. “Nope.” He shakes his head. You didn’t mind, it felt good to have him close to you, a feeling you always found yourself relaxing in. You’d place the pan into the oven before turning to him. “Movie time!”

You’d snuggled into Cory’s body, warm and cozy, your eyes droopy as you watched the television. You were tired but didn’t wanna fall asleep. Cory took notice and decided he would let you rest, even if you didn’t wanna fall asleep, his hands soothing against your sides always did it for you. “We need to get the brownies out.” You mumbled as Cory sighed. “The brownies are out.” He said as you hum.

“What if one day after we got married? We had a baby?” You asked as Cory chuckled. “That’s on your mind?” He asked as you smiled. “Just a little hand we can post online. But wouldn’t it be nice? Or if no kids. A cute fur baby?” You asked as he kissed your head, soothing your side. “I’ll think about it baby, right now you should rest.” He said as your eyes closed, you nodded your head slightly.

The home fell silent, the movie was off, the tv pitch black. Lights off, nothing but you and Cory cuddled under the blanket on the couch. Cory held you tightly as you laid on him. The rain hitting against the window soothed the home. You couldn’t wait for the future, and more moments with Cory.

I was wasting away at the edge of my bed with my controller in my hand. I had stayed up all night editing that I did not have the energy for work. I was trying to go to sleep, but I couldn't. I have a 7 to 3:30 today and it's going to freaking kill me. Im running on three hours of sleep right now. Freak..

I roll out of bed to get dressed. Today was going to be so hectic. This is around the time people shopping for Christmas early. Ugh! I can't wait til blow up on YouTube soon...it's my dream.

I live alone with my dog Samson that was gifted to me by myself of course! Got him last year when I reached 5k subs. A dog is a man's best friend. I dread the morning getting ready as it's the most laziest I am at times. I just wanna stay home and edit for real. Screw this work stuff. I live in a duplex so my rent isn't as high but it's up there. I like it though..it's nice. The downstairs is my living room, dining room and kitchen. The upstairs is my room, the laundry, and the bathroom. I have another bathroom downstairs too which is good for company.

I took Samson out for a walk so he can do his business before I go to work. He's getting so big!

"Ight, man. I'll be back soon, okay?"

He barked as I waved good bye-well, see you later. He's a chill dog so I let him stay out. I hop in my black Ford and on the way to work I go.

As I'm in the car, I turn on Tell Me If You Still Care by the S.O.S Band. Me and Lyric play this song all the time while on break. It's one of our favorites. Lyric is my co-worker at work. She works in the pharmacy department.

I arrive at work and everything is...regular. I walk in and I'm greeted by my guy, Des.

"Wassup, man,"

"Just tired, that's all,"

"What you been doing?" He asked.

"I was up editing all night. Im running of three hours of sleep right now,"

"Imma pray for you," He laughed.

"Ugh! Today is gonna be a long day for real!" I said, rolling my eyes.

"Well...good luck," he said chuckling while walking away.

I walked to the back to clock in and get ready for my shift. I looked on the schedule and seen that we had the manager no one likes. My day just really got worse just by looking at his name.

"Cory!"

I looked back and saw Lyric. She welcomed me with open arms and gave me a hug. We've be friends for a few months now and everyone thinks we're dating, but we aren't. We just let them think what they think at this point.

"Good morning," I said, hugging her back.

"Good morning. You look so dead right now,"

"I was up all night editing. Got three hours of sleep,"

"You need to manage your time better, dude. What video you have now?"

"You have to wait and see"

"Ugh! I'm supposed to get the exclusive shit!"

"Well, not this time. This video is over an hour long and I'm still not done,"

"Of course! You know, if you need help, I can help you,"

"Thank you, but I am okay,"

"Just saying. Hey, what you doing after work?" She asked, drinking her water.

"Editing, duh," I said.

"Let's do something! You've been working really hard. Let's get a break,"

"What do you wanna do?"

"Let's go to our spot and swing on the ropes. Please?"

She gave me them puppy eyes with her lips poked out. I literally had no choice but to say yes.

"Okay fine. But I'm not staying for long though,"

"Ah! I knew you'd say yes. You're the absolute best," she said smiling.

Lyric has the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. Her smile makes you smile. She's so beautiful. I'm glad I met her.

"Well, it's time for me to go to work. Catch you later, okay?"

"Yeah,"

She winked at me before leaving. Sometimes she can be a flirt.

"You might as well date her at this point," Monty said.

"Me and Lyric are just friends. Really good friends,"

"You can't see that she wants you?"

"Monty, go to work,"

"I'm going to work. You better be outta here by the time Cliff comes in here. You know how he is,"

"Yeah, let me hurry up and get ready,"

I hurried to get ready for my shift and went to my assigned station. Today I was restocking the shelves in the back. Sometimes I be in the front and I'll mess with Lyric as she's doing her job. I got her in trouble a couple of times, so I try not to look her way.

I like my days chill and relaxed, not hectic and busy. All the shelves become empty, customers asking all these questions left and right, customers have attitudes with the wrong workers, they bump into you, it's a lot! I only come here for Lyric, Des and Monty. The only co-workers I actually like.

When my YouTube takes off, imma go far. Krogers will be history.

Dreamcon Review 2023 Black Twitter Personified My input #edityourselfdreamcon

Part 1 #edityourselfdreamcon my input and review on my journey into dreamcon

as a everyday cartoon & animation lover & con-goer myself,

I feel first impressions are everything and there gonna be pros and cons in area to improve & take the rose colored glasses off.

As I start this review which this is probably the most I typed out or might sound like a rant,

Dreamcon being in 5 years in the con scene could easily work out some flaws from thisyears dreamcon 2023 so hoping everyone take the time to read my first con review typed myself.

Now coming from an OLD soul at heart I don't watch RDC or berleezy cause their content isn’t my taste, however, I am a somewhat known kingvader works for anime parodies, so here I go

As a black oriented con for all who love the blerds and cosplayers, falling into a category of inclusive celebrity aspects, so here I go

Day 1 hotel stay was great with a flawless flight, so that’s ima cut that out

I’d have to say it was a awesome heavenly great experience being with my fellow black kind enjoying the same energy, & vibes, i was don up in my Beyonce Tina Turner tribute flame dress, there were many great events they had line up, and had a fun time dressing up,

however the flaws were showing the moment lines were cluttered, with 2 lines leading to another just to get to another venue and no one could navigate easily with no barricade or specific instructions, so a line connecting with tape isn’t gonna solve any problems.

Now I enjoyed The opening ceremony after getting into it was hard to navigate and ask questions due to rude unsupportive security being outright clueless & dimissive.

the line ups for badges omg there were errors from the apps for checkouts. The policy is you have to be in person for badges which i find RIGGA MORTIS which every con should've had them mailed at all cost was deplorable,

of course I fee that could’ve been worked out so they can really push the brand smoothly, funny enough

The cons I went to had a lot of options for picking up badges that way from my few cons outings.

the errors with badge check ups were messy and having to wait 20 minutes for them to check out was so tiresome,

then they forgot the brochures to properly show the activities to tour the building, so it was just astounding, leaving me startled,

It’s the first thing you should have in case you don't have a phone.

so I’ll be doing dreamcon booklet review, cause no one should plaster on the celebrities' first page and not the map for example.

Now the opening ceremony some of the people complain about power outages, I didn’t notice but was shocked when I heard from one video the lights flickered weirdly so Health hazard in the making, along with RDC, Berleezy, and the influencers being late. i don't watch their stuff since it's not my taste. But humble filming their antics & seeing them together.

When the day came i was excited saw my favorite VAs after the whole Sag aftra strike came, played some trivia which was nice to pass the time along meeting great VAS giving them presents which was swell.

had a fun time giving my book of the Owl House fanfic to Zeno Robinson & anaris Quinonis a toh keychain as gifts danille, the vas of Caramel Arrow Cookie, a handmade jacket which she adored had my content signed too so that was awesome.

After that I wanted to check out some of the gaming hall, which left me in awe you have to give which left me staggered,

I never had to give my ID away at other cons so that needs to be cut quickly cause it left me feeling disappointed as if we were to steal the consoles or do something unlawful, I mean I got my switch so I’m good,

and the LACK OF retro gaming which left me shocked cause the have these influencers showing ok.

yet would’ve thought they had one for gamers who can’t deal with high end graphics cause it can be troublesome to people with motion sickness, and also who just like old school gaming from time to time.

now people came to dreamcon for anime cosplays, which should be a thing at all cons which is good, but it did felt inclusive cause people wanted to dress a well know particular character to get exposure.

however didn't occur that it was made only for a celebrity type scene of networking if you didnt had 1M followers or higher number or if nothing, like my first cosplay had anything anime related,

But felt uneasy of the energy around, now people only came for the mainstream anime characters and series like jjk or yuyu hakusho, shonen, etc, cause so need to do y’all research on shojo and josei dreamcon.

Not to mention the attendees really prioritize just seeing their influencers and that’s it or don’t try to take pics of others in cosplays if it’s not from an anime that's popping or popular.

if your a well know character cause of the whole shonen action aspect.

as a weeb & fan of animation or anime i like to stay on a surrealist side, people need to try to know others characters on what or why you wanted to dress & it shows how old attendees and influencers who are known at dreamcon to get easy clout cause now other people are doing shonen etc characters.

Even if someone made there own outfits be it in OC or not (I for one) handmade mines & don't care for a number or clout, so people didn't really feel like taking pics so felt like invisible since i felt right away the attendees only going for the celebrities & influencers it devalued all customers even the con which is truly discouraging & gross.

there were some inconveniences such as rude security disorganization and a really clout chasing inclusivity in the con.

if you have gold platinum badges you treated a certain way. When the dodgeball event came there were two lines, one for regular passes the other gold & platnium, few minutes of waiting time, they established a first come first serve,

Which was so scummy cause who would do that to high paying people who payed 1k or more to come here now feeling deprived and just robbed.

Day 2 the day of the cosplay contest I dressed in my jubilee hellifre gala out i sung and written my own rap freestyle to how to rock theme.

The Cosplay contest got alot better after last year's controversy so shouldn’t have to rely on shock value for exposure for what they done

This is one thing need fixing,

comes across as this place aims only to the heterosexual audience. like consider focusing on its lgbt black circles without feeling ostracized least blerdcon does a good job on that department.

the cosplay part be it dressed opposite sex, gender bent or underrated character or very pick me like towards your first con relying on overrated cosplay or character that will gain recognition in photos that have been done and redundant and the fact people who paid for gold platinum didn’t get all there goods and necessities along the weekend pass members booklets to check out what’s to come for the event I repeat make people of BLACK LGBT feel WELCOME AND NOT WITHDRAWN IF THEY GO TO ANY PARTYS WHICH DAY PLAN dear i say.

Show some variety and versatility 90House music CHIPTUNE Disco AND ARTPOP PLEASE

My reaction : Too much profanity music blasting

Day 3 didn’t bother going cause i felt very grossed by a photographer who didnt recognize me even given a piece, the thing that anger most is that he said i didnt look asian at all.

WTH right i wanted to smash his camera at that moment I dress a character I like be it skin tone, race or not

after that the cosplay contest went out great, super stoked to see all the cosplayers handmake or tailor outfits and I made a brief video about it, however, don't agree with the extended time without given replenishment or snacks for energy, or the fact it was live on twitch till late notice, so that was such a surprise, but nail through it with my freestyle performance sung by me and appreciate the love.

Dreamcon should highly recommend actually looking out for there own kind since this whole thing felt scummy. just feels they appeal to the straight heteronormative audience instead develop a lgbt crowd for far-know recognition.

Support people of lgbt black so people won’t be seen isolated or treated in a inflammatory way and show support towards that scene cause dreamcon relies too much on its straight demographic to the point people have to be or dress a certain way to go out to one of the events just for clout maybe people spent 2 hours and love to be in costume not for the clout but the art form so it’s very discouraging also if they don’t take pictures or show them being seen or welcome open arms in the matter

Agree with the real kima and as my first time at dreamcon and WORKED AT SDCC 2022

They really didn’t try to focus on accommodating new attendees cause the whole thing felt way to clout chasing, it wasnt my secene

due to me being a free spirit and doing it for the love. I myslef and others were disappointed by how it came to be nothing but a partycon where it relays too much on a straight celeb demographic and overrated shonen tending to that audience and that goes to there highest content creators felt as if everyone had to wait for them knowing they had panelists being undermined by others who are just starting out, AND THERE non existence lgbt demographic 

I would say people should be able to be seen regardless and have proper exposure no matter what scene or sexuality if your new or old attendee at DreamCon now the mandate the up pricing of badges and you pay for panelists.

having said dreamcon shouldnt be a perfect FIRST CON DO unless your looking for a good partycon this is it. Hoping Dreamcon doesn't fall under the narrative of a con which is inclusive if your know the celebrity or have a higher clout or following to be praised instead developed a heart and soul on what makes Dreamcon Dreamcon to being 5 years running there still working kinks needing oiling and work so hoping this 2024 so on they work on it.
