Alina and friends 5 Chapter:Together, stronger, hurray!

(Note:Negabosses will be in human form and they are friendly. And Cass is young in the present tense)

From the first person of Alina, she opens her eyes and sees familiar grass, flowers and three worlds. But it was actually 12 when she sat down and looked around. Later, the tims came up to her, happily chirping.

Alina:Hello. (Stroking tims while the rest of the characters wake up)

Krash:Is this a dream?

Alina:No, (Got up) This is a real world of wonders. We are currently on tims island.

Kayna looked up and saw a clock with a blue crystal on top.

Kayna:They even have a watch.

Lula:And twelve worlds.

Sanya:As I understand it, these worlds belong to the inhabitants.

Balan:Yes. (The heroes noticed him) These worlds are also called chapters.

Krash:So the wonderworld is like a fairy tale.

SpongeBob:(Happily) Great!

Balan: (Nodded) Yes. Well, I just said about my friends, I'll introduce them to you. (To Alina in a whisper) Alina, just don't get mad, he's kind now.

Alina:(In a whisper) So they saved him after all.

Balan:(In A Whisper) Yes. (To the others, but not in a whisper) Well, meet him. My brother... Lance.

A purple portal appeared near Balan and Lance himself comes out of it. He had white skin, blond hair and was wearing white clothes.

Lance:Good afternoon.

Heroes:Lance.

Krash:And who was he before our appearance?

Alina:He was a villain in the wonderworld and he turned the inhabitants into Negaboss. Fortunately, everyone saved him, including people.

Balan:(In A Whisper) This is the girl Alina, she knows everything about us and the world of wonders. But also our new ones. She's just super to me.

Lance:I get it, brother.

Balan:Well, since I introduced my brother, then I will introduce him... Freddy Fazber.

Heroes:Freddy Fazber?

The animatronics of a bear-like man with a black top hat on his head approached the heroes.

Freddie:Good afternoon.

Alina:Freddy Fazber from Fnaf. This is horror game.

Squidward:And you weren't even afraid?

Alina:(She shook her head) But I didn't play, but I definitely loved it.

Freddy:Heh, even kids can love horror stories, but parents need to know.

Balan:But Alina is adequate here.

Wally:Mr. Balan, what about the others?

Balan:You just said that, they are in chapter 4.

Alina:The heavenly world.

Wally:Will it be that high?

Alina:Don't worry, it's a wonderworld and everything is impossible here.

Balan:That's right, so let's all go.

The heroes entered Chapter 4 and were surprised to see flying lands, scattered parts and mills.

Squidward:And where are your friends?

Alina:Probably they... (Noticed Balan, who put his finger to his mouth, like a secret) They're in a different place.

Balan:Who knows? But I know exactly where they are. Come on. (He with heroes walked through the hills and stopped at the top of the mountain. The heroes admired the view) Well, we're waiting for the signal.

Katya:Who are you talking about?

Balan:Just like that.

Far from the mountain, a whale-shaped island was flying, and on its nose stood a boy with yellow hair, with a blue bandage, and a girl with blond hair, with two tails. They were watching the heroes.

Girl:They're here, so we can get closer. (Nodded with the boy, and then she turned to someone with him)

Boy:They're here!

The heroes immediately noticed a cetacean island floating towards them.

Heroes:Wow!

Alina:Cetacean Island!

Krash:How huge it is.

The whale stopped and someone threw down a ladder so that the heroes could climb up. Wally looks down in fright.

Rosa:Wally don't be afraid, just look at the top.

Eventually, Walliywas able to climb up to the island. When all the heroes were there, the whale continued to swim. The heroes were surprised that no one was there.

Squidward:Is this a hoax?

Alina:I don't think they are exactly there.

Christina:Why aren't there any?

Alina:Maybe they hid well, like a surprise.

Suddenly, someone's white hand with a yellow glove climbed out of the bush.

Male voice№1:(Happy) Yes!

He was grabbed by the same hand, but it was a white sleeve and shoved back into the bush.

Male voice№2:(In a whisper) Quietly. Otherwise they'll burn it down.

Balan:Okay, Alina, you got us. (To someone) All the guys come out!

The characters of BWW and animatronics themselves came out of one bush.

BWW and animatronics:Suprise!

Heroes Except Balan, Lance and Freddie:Oh!

Alina:(Happily) These are real BWW characters and animatronics!

BWW and animatronics:Oh.

Cal:A cheerful child.

Balan:She just knows about all of us, that's what she's happy about.

BWW and animatronics:Ah.

Krash:And we immediately realized that you are Leo, Emma and inhabitants.

Leo:(Nodded) Yes, we are the ones.

Bonnie:Even Leo, Emma, inhabitants, and the four of Freddy's first restaurant saved you.

Heroes:You?

Alina:How did you know?

Helpy:I told them that when you ran away and met me.

Alina:Now it's clear where Freddy Fazber's pizzeria in Highland Island comes from.

Balan:That's what we're going to tell you a story about us. You sit down more comfortably. (Everyone sat down on the grass while he snapped his fingers and a screen appeared, and a book on his hand) The first chapter. (Opens the book)

Once upon a time, animatronics of a pizzeria lived in New York

And they just moved to live in Highland Isle.

And they met the same animatronics

And they all began to work together in a pizzeria

Balan:You can sing along.

And we are all safe, we will not leave anyone

And we all wanted to be kind and happy

And if someone is against it, then we disagree

And we just all want to have kind people

Balan:Final chapter.

Verse 3

[Balan]

And suddenly, in our city, a disaster happened

The black beasts came and took everything from us

We decided to lure them in, but they all

And everyone hid in the theater and thought what's next.

(Back to the chorus 2)

SpongeBob:Did it really happen that way with you?

Balan: Yes... they even forgot about us except our loved ones.

Alina:So what? That's where we're going.

BWW and FNAF:Really?

Alina:Yes, but we are even looking for friends to defeat the Honey Badger and his army.

Balan:If so? (He put the book away) Then I'm with you and Lance.

Leo: I'll go with you too.

Emma: And me.

Cal: So are we. There are 12 inhabitants at once.

Wolf Tornado:Perhaps we are too. Immediately the suits are representatives.

Alina:I've already thought of it.

Everyone except Alina:Which one?

Alina:Together, stronger, hurray! (Everyone was silent for a second)

Squidward:And what is this motto?

Cass: She probably used the words to three of our songs.

Alina:Exactly, I used these words, although it looks more like balan wonderworld. But it's for everyone. The song "Together" is sung in chapters 2, 4, 9 and 12.

Fiona, Haoyu, Attilio and Bruce:This is our song.

Alina:By the way, it's my favorite song. The song "Stronger" is sung in chapters 1, 5, 7 and 10.

Jose, Sana, Cal and Lucy:This is our song.

Alina:And the song "Hurry" is sung in chapters 3, 6, 8 and 11.

Yuri, Cass, Iben and Eis:This is our song.

Alina:However, there is also a song "Wonderworld", but I did not add it.

Balan:So what? It's still a good motto.

Aero Acrobat:I like it.

Krash:Cool.

Alina:Then full speed ahead!

The cetacean island is flying towards the exit of Chapter 4.

(The heroes, seeing the courtyard, decide to walk on the roofs. They have climbed up with the help of a ladder and are walking on the roofs. They can see the road below, but Daisy found the board and used it to cross over. When they reached the end of the city, they jumped on a mattress and went into the forest after the enemies)

In another part of the city.

Near an ordinary two-story house in the yard there were two teenage boys who were making an invention out of tree sticks. One had a triangular head, red hair, and was wearing a striped T-shirt, pants, and shoes by the name of Phineas. The other was silent, with a rectangular head, green hair, a yellow T-shirt, purple pants and black shoes by the name of Ferb.

Phineas:Ferb, please give me that branch. (Ferb gives him a branch) And now this one. (Ferb gives him another branch) Done. (the invention was an open-space helicopter) Although not very much, but we need to check it out.

???:Yeah...

The two inventors were watched by their sister Candice. She had red hair, She is wearing a red T-shirt, a white skirt and shoes with red socks.

Candice:I'm not even going to tell my mom that you're up to something, despite the fact that the animals took the tools.

Ferb:Although the animals here are not intelligent.

Phineas:But we'll check everything out. (With Ferb going to the helicopter)

Candice:Well, well, well, also tell me that... (I noticed that Phineas and Ferb were flying away) Hey! (He runs discontentedly and stops at the end of the fence) Just don't think that it will be bad.

Jeremy:Oh, hi Candice.

Candice: (In Love) Oh, hi Jeremy.

In the center of Highland Isle.

Tom, the gray cat, was sleeping on the bench, as if he didn't know about what was happening at all, even today. But he woke up when an apple core fell on him and it was Jerry's brown mouse, who was looking for food. Tom grabbed him, but Jerry hit his hand with a skeleton fish and he ran away. Tom chased after him, but saw three yellow minions Kevin, Stuart and Bob. They made swings out of planks and stone.

Suddenly Bob saw a butterfly and chased after it, and Kevin and Stuart catch up with him. Tom walked over to the swing while Jerry joined him. They decided to try a swing and Tom took a cobblestone. When the minions came, they were scared when they saw it and ran. Suddenly Tom dropped a boulder and the five flew screaming.

Meanwhile, with Phineas and Ferb.

Phineas and Ferb were still flying in the helicopter.

Phineas:It works great, but it's unreliable if something falls. (Tom, Jerry and the minions fell on the helicopter) Oh, we have guests. (Tom, Jerry and the minions looked at him) Hi, my name is Phineas, and this is my brother Ferb. What's your name?

Kevin:(By minions) And we're minions, I'm Kevin, this is Stuart and Bob.

Tom and Jerry gesture to say their names.

Phineas:Ha, that's great. (I noticed that the helicopter was breaking down) Here's an ambush. (Falls with the rest)

Meanwhile, with the heroes.

The heroes walked calmly until Alina heard the screams.

Alina:Guys, someone is shouting. (Everyone stopped)

Daisy:Is it not at the top?

The heroes were startled to see Phineas, Ferb, Tom, Jerry and the minions falling to the ground.

Olga:They're going to crash.

Alina:Balan, Lance will you catch a false alarm?

Balan:Absolutely right.

Balan and Lance took off and caught five new heroes, and put them on the ground.

Phineas:Uh, thanks for saving us.

Balan:No problem, this is our job.

Alina:Wait a minute, I know you.

Phineas:Yes?

Alina:(Nodded) Of course, I've been watching about you. We just went after the Honey Badger and noticed you.

Phineas:Do you know him? He took everything from us too.

Carlin:Absolutely right. You can join us.

Phineas:Wow! Ferb, I know what we're going to do today.

Chiko:And why is your brother not talking?

Phineas:He's only talking about facts.

Ferb:Such as, for example, lionesses hunt most of the time, as lions rest.

Carlin:And our Alina is like a commander. I'm sorry about that.

Alina:Me?

Daisy:Absolutely, you're adequate.

Chiko:But you're kind.

SpongeBob:And loving.

The heroes immediately headed towards their goal with new friends.

The Sleeping Princess Chapter 12

First Previous

Here’s chapter 12!

Before Lia could process what was happening, Balan scooped her up and flew her back to the stage.

Within seconds, Lia was plopped down onto a chair as Balan teleported onto the stage.

With a snap of his fingers and a cartwheel, the stage lit up.

Another snap and the stage filled with countless Balan clones!

The clones danced alongside the real Balan for a moment before dispersing throughout the stage.

Two of the clones scooped up Lia and hurled her towards the stage.

She let out a yelp as she struggled to regain her balance.

However she had no time to relax, for the real Balan grabbed her by the hand and spun her around.

FWEE!

Soon Lia was flung through scene after scene!

From a vibrant ocean to bustling cityscapes, and even a glass of wine!

Lia was traveling so fast she felt her head spin!

“Now let us find your heart, my dear! Your first step is right through here!”

Laser lights and more clones assaulted Lia’s senses as she was thrown head first into a shimmering door.

WHUMP!

Lia landed flat on her rump.

She let out a whimper as she struggled to get her head on straight.

When the dust settled, Lia found herself sitting in a whimsical meadow.

She shakily rose to her feet and dusted off her nightgown.

“Ugh, what happened? And where am I?”

“Why you’re in Wonderworld, the place where lost hearts become found! Come with me! I’ll show you around!” Balan sang as held out a hand.

“Woah! Woah! Wait just a minute! Lost hearts?! What are you going on about and why did you bring me here?!” Lia demanded as she folded her arms.

“Why the answer is simple: your heart has gone astray. So I’m here to save the day!” Balan chirped with a bow.

“So you want to save my… heart?”

“That is correct! When it comes to hearts it’s my duty to defend and protect!” Balan explained with a wink.

Lia simply gave Balan a confused glare.

“Ohh-kay and how do you plan to do that exactly?”

“With great effort and care! And an extra dash of flare!” Balan struck a dramatic pose.

“Well I hate to break it to you, Uhhh…”

“Balan! Balan’s the name! And being the maestro of Wonderworld is my claim to fame!” Balan replied as he gave Lia a vigorous handshake.

“Right-” -Lia wiped away the handshake on her nightgown- “-Well Balan, I hate to break it to you but I’m afraid I don’t have a heart left to save. My heart was shattered years ago. So I’m pretty much dead inside.”

Balan let out a frustrated sigh and shook his head.

“But that’s where you’re wrong, my dear. Your heart may be broken but it still can be saved here.”

“Yeah…No. Look, you mean well but my heart is beyond saving. I’m pretty much useless. So you’ll just be wasting your time.” Lia sighed as she rubbed her arm.

Balan let out a hearty laugh.

“Nonsense! Every heart has a purpose! Even ones that have gone out of whack. That’s why I’m here, to help bring them back!”

“Dude, I appreciate what you’re trying to do but you don’t need to waste your time with me, alright? Just show me the way out and we can forget this ever happened.” Lia grumbled as she shook her head.

“The answer I say is no to you. I couldn’t let you leave even if I wanted to. The only way out is to pass a test to bring balance back to your heart. Then and only then can we part.” Balan explained as he patted Lia’s head.

“Urgh, seriously?”

Balan’s grin simply grew smug.

“Fine. If I pass this test or whatever, then will you let me go?” Lia sighed as she pinched the bridge of her nose.

“That’s the plan! So glad you now understand!” Balan chuckled with a wink.

Lia simply let out an annoyed grunt.

“Oh don’t look at me like that, dear. I think you might actually have some fun here!”

And with that, Balan took Lia by the hand and took her on a tour of Wonderworld.

He showed her around the Isle of Tims and taught her about costumes.

He showed her various stages and even showed off some of his magic.

And in return, Lia told Balan about her life in the real world.

From her book to the cruelty of her parents, Balan listened intently and comforted her.

Balan found himself charmed by her quick wit and creative mind.

It wasn’t long before a beautiful friendship begun to blossom between the two.

Lia let out a gasp as her mind returned to reality.

“I…I remember! I remember my name and even how I ended up in Wonderworld!”

Balan’s face lit up as he took Lia’s hands in his.

“Oh thank the stars! You have your memory once more! I was worried had lost the one I adore!”

“Well, I don’t exactly remember everything.”

Balan let out a confused hum and tilted his head.

“What is this? What is it that you miss?”

Lia sucked in air through her teeth.

“Oof…How do I put this? Um…”

“Go on. Tell me what’s missing! You can tell me anything!

“I…don’t exactly remember falling in love with you..” Lia’s voice shrank a bit as she spoke.

Lia’s words cut through Balan’s heart like a knife.

“W-What? Please tell me that was just a cruel joke! That couldn’t be the truth you just spoke! You really don’t remember how you stole my heart?! Have you truly forgotten that part?!”

Lia simply shook her head.

“I’m so sorry, Balan but I really don’t remember falling in love with you. I just remember coming here. Then it’s just…blank. Well until I woke up in Lance’s room anyway.”

Balan’s signature grin fell as a few tears trickled down the brim of his hat.

He shakily rose to his feet and adjusted his hat.

“Oh…I see…”

“But I do remember becoming friends with you!” Lia reassured as she stood up as well.

“Friends? Just friends and nothing more? Oh how my heart grows ever sore!” Balan blubbered as he dramatically flopped his hand over his forehead.

“I’m so sorry, Balan! I really really wish I could remember more!” Lia whimpered, a few tears forming in her eyes as well.

And with that, Lia ran off to a nearby hill.

“Why must things be this way?! Why does she keep running away?!” Balan wailed, more tears pouring down the Brim of his hat.

Emma held a fist over her chest as she watched the debacle unfold.

Suddenly she had an idea.

“Wait! I think I know how to fix this!”

Balan simply gave Emma a somber look.

“I’m sorry, little one. But I fear that there’s nothing that can be done.”

“Not true! I saw a movie on TV just like this! There was a couple that got into a terrible accident and the wife lost her memory. But her husband managed to make her fall in love with him all over again!” Emma explained, “Maybe you can do the same with Lia, Balan!”

Balan scoffed and shook his head.

“Oh little one, you shouldn’t believe everything you see. I’m afraid life isn’t as simple as the one on TV.”

“Well do you have any better ideas?”

Balan looked over at Lia longingly.

He loved her more than anything.

He couldn’t even bare the thought of losing her.

Yet that’s exactly what happened.

Her memory of their love was gone and Lia barley recognized him.

It felt like he was back at square one.

Watching Lia run off in fear and trying to convince her he meant well.

Balan let out a lovesick sigh.

As heartbroken as he was, he was desperate to have Lia back.

Not seeing any other option, Balan turned back to Emma.

“Very well. You’ve made a point most convincing. Tell me what I should do to win my darling.”

Balan wonderworld switch review

The clumsy controls and character movement are the most persistent problem. Now Playing: Balan's Wonderworld Reveal Trailer | Square Enix Presents 2021 And if Balan is so keen to help Emma and Leo, then why does he insist that we bring him gold effigies of himself? Incidentally, the amount of backtracking required to bag every statue and make any meaningful progress is inexcusable.By clicking 'enter', you agree to GameSpot's Your character's run animation is awful, there's no real story to speak of, the jumping is terrible, and the whole thing feels like a big perplexing mess. Yet, on a fundamental level, there's little to recommend about Balan Company's debut. I spent much of my time playing Balan Wonderworld with my cynical, curmudgeonly old face screwed up, but I'm sure there's someone less bitter than I am who will get something out of the game. Clearly aimed at a younger audience, I can't imagine this holding a kid's attention for too long, and if you're an older player, it's probably best to avoid it altogether. This is definitely a case of throwing a whole bunch of stuff at the wall to see what sticks, and, unfortunately, a lot of it doesn't. Some costumes, meanwhile, present you with sports-based mini-games, like booting a football at targets, bowling, golf, and baseball distractions. The variety of outfits do keep things mildly interesting, whether it's using the 'Lovely Lantern' to light your way through dark areas, the 'Sickle Slinger' for hurling blades at enemies, or the 'Dusk Butterfly' to flap your way across gaps. You collect Balan statues, go to the next area, fight a 'Nega Boss' (enemy design, is, for lack of a better word, crap), and then you'll have a bit of a dance. But in Balan Wonderworld I had nothing to hold onto, narratively speaking or otherwise. Robotnik had ensnared animals and stolen the chaos emeralds, so you had a mission, of sorts. At least in a game like Sonic the Hedgehog, you knew that Dr. Ultimately, it all feels quite pointless. Upon completing an act of each level, you're whisked back to the verdant 'Isle of Tims', a hub region where you can look after your Tims, help them multiply, and have them complete secondary objectives for you at certain milestones, building new structures within the hub. You're also never really sure why you're collecting different coloured gems then feeding them to little fluffy birds that follow you around, called 'Tims'. And that's really Balan Wonderworld's most cardinal sin – it's a platforming game with bad jumping. Why one button isn't a default jump button regardless of which costume you're currently wearing, is beyond me. For some reason, someone thought it would be a great idea to have every button do the same thing, so with the exception of the left and right bumpers, used to switch outfits, every other input is 'jump' or 'use ability'. Different outfits you can unlock by gathering keys (usually situated conveniently next to the little pod in which the costume is contained) grant new abilities, and some of them inexplicably remove your ability to jump. That's essentially Balan Wonderworld in a nutshell. Collecting a gold top hat will initiate a profoundly dull mini-game featuring Balan himself, in which you have to match his shadow to an action he performs in a sequence. Your sole objective is to collect golden statuettes of Balan, tucked away in each of the game's 12 chapters, in order to progress. In the background is the eponymous “mysterious maestro” Balan himself, a gangly creature decked out in a crisp white suit, a hat with red trim, and stupid green hair peeking out at the back, who apparently runs the show. There's a farmer whose farm is a mess (or something), a girl who has lost her dolphin, a girl who has no friends because she likes insects, and other needy folks to help, if you can be bothered. The Balan Wonderworld demo has some good moments and also some things which raised concerns for me, such as the camera, and speed at which you can change between costumes. I’ve had a chance to play it ahead of the demo release, and Chris Hyde quizzed me about it. It contains some action from the first act as well as a boss fight, and some other chapters, too. It’s rated E10+.The Balan Wonderworld demo is hitting every major console this week, and it’s intended to give people a chance to play Yuji Naka (the guy behind those Sonic games and Square Enix’s brand new IP.

Based on what we’ve played in the demo, however, we don’t have much confidence that Wonderworld will be a worthy co-op adventure.īalan Wonderworld will launch on PC (Steam), PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox on March 26. It’s possible later levels are much more interesting, and maybe costumes can be combined in interesting ways. The final game includes 12 worlds and 80 costumes. It feels like a step backward for the evolving platformer genre. Levels feel cramped, flat, and lifeless, without any visual flair or interesting features beyond platforms, switches, and pits. Perhaps it’s early level blues, but nothing we saw excited us. These core problems could be easier to swallow if the levels were more interesting. But in a 3D platformer that supports co-op, trying to remain on screen is incredibly frustrating for the second player. In contrast, Balan Wonderworld uses a much lower, more intimate camera angle centered on the first player, as in third-person shooters and action-RPGs. Better co-op action games, like the Skylanders series, use a more overheard camera, making it easier to accommodate multiple player characters. The other problem with local co-op is the third-person camera. And worse, only a single player could grab it at a time, making the other, costume-less player effectively useless during the fight. Thankfully there was a costume pickup right outside the boss fight, but it’s not particularly fun to constantly retreat back and grab it. The boss could only be damaged by the wolf costume’s spin jump, but by the time we reached it, we had only one costume between us. This was particularly problematic during the demo’s only boss fight. None of these costumes are compelling or interesting, and combat is still mostly limited to jumping on enemies, Mario-style. A gear costume functioned like a gate key, requiring the costume to open gear-based doors – and losing it (or any costume) can require an annoying amount of backtracking. The wolf spin can destroy blocks, while the rabbit can hover in place for a short while to reach further platforms. Most of the costumes in the first area simply replace the jump button with a slightly different kind of jump. Unfortunately the costumes are weirdly rare, aren’t terribly impressive, and exclusive to one player at a time when playing co-op – meaning the first player to grab the icon gets the costume. We can store up to three costumes and freely switch between them, but getting hit or taking damage removes the costume. A wolf costume grants a spinning tornado jump, while a dragon-lizard can shoot fireballs. Leo and Emma are limited to running and jumping, but throughout each level we acquire costumes that grant a single ability. With single player you can choose either character, and in local co-op you play as both. Each area has an overarching story, like the farmer whose livelihood is destroyed by a tornado, though I didn’t get a sense how that’s incorporated in the few levels available in the demo. They’re magically drawn into the world of Wonderworld, which consists of several themed areas, each with multiple levels, such as a farm, or a forest. The story stars young heroes, Leo and Emma.

After playing the free demo, however, I come away with nothing short of shocking disappointment with its outdated gameplay and boring level design.

The cinematic intro movie is whimsical and fantastical, and we confidently placed the game on our list of most anticipated games of the year. It’s their first game under their new Balan Company studio, which is an official subsidiary of veteran publisher Square Enix. It’s helmed by Yuji Naka and Naoto Ohsmia, two of the original creators of Sonic the Hedgehog. Upcoming 3D platformer Balan Wonderworld has an impressive resume.

I used song lyrics as the titles of each chapter. I already said it in some of the author’s notes, but the songs those lyrics come from weren’t always relevant to the story. In fact, the two surrounding lyrics weren’t always relevant, either. I felt like talking about those songs a bit.

“Departure Arrival” in itself is the title of a song by Mischief Brew. It’s a nice calm folk sounding song that I’d recommend giving a listen.

You know I never could fall asleep on a train All the time dreaming about moving away Finally awake, I wonder What if I pulled the emergency brake...? Doors are still open and I wish they would shut Then I could stop thinking 'should I jump out and run?' Only on page ten And I think I gotta start all over again

It felt like an okay fit for the fic where Balan and Rina are so stop-and-go both in their relationship and where they’re both personally going in life, and of course the desire for people to stay, so I stole it. Haha But then I butchered it by isolating some of its lyrics to strip them of their intended meaning. Sorry about that.

Chapter 1: “If I ever fall asleep, I remember my dream“ Was just referring to Rina constantly returning to Wonderworld, whether it’s literally or figuratively. Obviously, the surrounding lyrics had no relevance for this.

Chapter 11: “May your songs never get stuck out of my head” Just a sweet sentiment while Rina sees she can still sing. Chapter 12: “I close my eyes and we fall over the edge” Ohohoho just dirty things

Going to put the rest of them under a read-more to avoid spam since it’s... song lyrics. They sure take up a lot of vertical space.

Chapter 2: “Chained to what I can't reclaim, I'll never be the same” Of course, referencing the grief of Rina losing so much of her body and how that impacts her. The scope of the full song’s lyrics are actually pretty relevant for once, but the sound of the song sure isn’t.

The song was “Switchback” by Celldweller. It’s a metal song with a lot of repeating lyrics. If you’re into moody electonic rock/metal, Celldweller in general is pretty good.

Chapter 3: “No one left to blame for the way I've been living” Referring to Rina accepting that she’s been doing herself no favors by stagnating. The song was “Song For The Stray Cat On The Fence” by Pat ‘The Bunny’ Schneeweis. It’s an angry folk punk song. I wouldn’t say it’s one of his most pleasant songs to listen to, but he has a pretty nice chunk of songs that I actually put on pretty often. I’d stay away from his work though if you’re not already embracing the depression that comes with the awareness of capitalism.

Chapter 4: “Just one particle in a hundred million one” Referring to Rina’s the realization that she’s really just one of the countless people Balan’s helped.

The song was “Life Signs” by Lisa Furukawa. It’s a nice, calming, minimalist kind of song carried by her strong vocals. I’ve only heard the album that this song was from, so I don’t know if all of her music is like that, but most of that album was. I’d recommend it.

The song was “House On Fire” by Ghost Mice. It’s another folk punk song. It’s alright, if you’re into folk punk.

Chapter 6: “Take your foot off of the brake” Referring to the desire to throw away their hesitance. Which of them, though? Both, probably. Balan kind of wanting Rina to be bold enough to make the choice for him since he can’t in good conscience start anything with her. Rina wanting greener signals from Balan so she can be that bold. The rest of the song is super duper irrelevant!

The song was “Dilaudid“ by The Mountain Goats. It’s not very pleasant to listen to. They’re mostly known for the theme from Moral Orel, which is a nice listen. I’m not familiar with more of their work.

Chapter 7: “You've learned to give, but not to take” Referring to Balan’s struggle to keep his own problems bottled up while he helps others.

The song was “All Shall Be Well” by Pete Townshend, meant for the musical rendition of The Iron Giant (The Iron Man). It’s a nice song with a backing choire.

Chapter 8: "The future isn't what it used to be" Referring to Rina’s dropping hopes, and everything just continuously falling apart for Balan.

The song was “Future Isn't What It Used To Be” by Carly and Martina. It’s a mild song that’s a nice listen.

The song was “Anywhere But Here” by K.Flay. It’s a mild rap song. I don’t dislike it.

Chapter 10: "And now I feel what you felt" Referring to Balan’s breakdown over accepting that Lance was right. He can understand how Lance became what he is through his attachment to humans. The rest of the song is very irrelevant again, but the verse it’s from could be slightly relevant; that is, he wishes he’d never experienced this attachment, wishes he didn’t understand Lance. Until Rina offers her solution, love really doesn’t seem worth it.

The song was “The Last Firstborn” by Celldweller. It’s more of an electronic dance song. It’s nice to zone out to if you aren’t depressed by the lyrics.

The song was “Let Me Be Surprised” from All Dogs Go to Heaven. It’s a pretty good childrens’ movie if you don’t mind crying. The song is good once it actually gets to the “let me be surprised” section. I wish the whole song was like that. Even though this chapter had Dreams Dreams as the song playing in the background, that soft and easy section of the song I had in my head when I imagined it.

Chapter 14: "Take the consequence of living" Referring, of course, to the many poor possible outcomes of leaving Wonderworld.

The song is unknown! “The most mysterious song on the internet”, as of right now, still hasn’t been identified. It’s a really catchy song, at least to me. The vocalist has a strong accent and the audio quality isn’t very high, so nobody’s 100% sure what the lyrics are. This is just one of several proposed sets of lyrics.

This is a Humanized Hooverton on Balan Wonderworld Chapter 12: The Man Seen by No One. Hooverton wasn't look like Bruce Stone, He was a Bad as Hell and a Devil. Hooverton want to Tied Up to Bruce. Bruce got Tied Up, Bruce was to Screaming at he. also, Hooverton try to Kill Elder Man, Hooverton their look down to see a Invisible Man & Invisible Rabbit.

1. Hooverton will drop Dokadoka bombs that will instantly explode for 3 sets Avoid the bombs by moving to a place where it is clear from any explosions, or quickly change Costumes.

You can suck up the bombs with Vacuum Blaster or Lethal Vacuum Blaster.

2. This attack has a difficulty change in Hard Mode.

2 Hooverton will plug one of his plug hands into an outlet and suck up blocks. When this is done, he will shoot out a projectile at your postion. Attack Hooverton by making him position his projectile trajectory towards the plug. Once it is hit, you have to hit the ball.

Hide behind the plug and move when he shoots out the projectile.

3. If you do not attack his weak spot for 1/3 hits, the boss will repeat his first two attacks until you can hit him, and his pattern won't move onto the Third Attack. Floor blocks hit by the projectile do not reappear until Hooverton has been hit.

3 Hooverton will turn invisible and drop his electric plug hands in your position Attack him by making him drop the plug, jumping over the shockwave, and jump on his with Jellyjolt. (Not tested with Jolt Tiger) After this attack, whether if it has been hit or not, It will repeat the first and second attacks.

This attack most likely has a difficulty change in Hard Mode.

Kaede Akamatsu and Balan Wonderworld share one thing in common. And that's a ✨️birthday✨️

I really like Kaede. Maybe it's because she's a high kin, maybe it's because of her design, or maybe her personality. I have no idea why, but she's very cool nonetheless and she didn't deserve her fate in v3 :(

Happy birthday, Kaede Akamatsu!

Balan Wonderworld. Ah yes. Some people say it's terrible, others adore this franchise (such as myself). It has been exactly a year from the full release of the game. Admittedly, the game is not perfect. In fact, it was kind of bad and I haven't even finished chapter 12. But, I still enjoyed the wacky costumes and outstanding music, as well as the stage designs and inhabitants. I DID NOT ENJOY THE BOUTS!!! Also, the novel was alright as well. I was a bit confused by the writing at times, but it was so nice to actually read dialouge from the inhabitants. Like the game and novel, the fandom isn't perfect, but acknowledging the cons- as well as the pros, makes for a true balance! Thank you for this amazing journey, Balan Wonderworld!

(Okay fine, reasons/opinions below the cut but be warned! I won’t be holding back on game or book spoilers. Or rambling. This got longer than I anticipated lol)

BETTER IN THE BOOK

Eis “Fireman Sam” Glover: I don’t know what the game was trying to do with this one. I guess he gets overwhelmed by the fire and loses his composure or gets scared or... something? Also why did he not bring a hose. Or a mask. This is why so many reviewers thought Wonderworld was a metaphor for purgatory and all the inhabitants are dead I swear. Who cares, the book handled it a lot better. I wouldn’t say it’s perfect, but there’s definitely a good idea here with some interesting themes. The gist is that he feels ashamed following his captain’s orders to retreat during a serious blaze, which his colleagues disobeyed, and his colleagues are later hailed as heroes by the press. Is Balan the Book trying to take on toxic masculinity...? How brave. Tl;dr, the book conveyed the story a Hell of lot better than the game. Honestly I’m surprised this is the only one.

BETTER IN THE GAME

Haoyu “Airplane Boi” Chang: So the book tried waaaay too hard to draw a parallel between Haoyu and Fiona (aka, Dolphin Girl) to the point that they both share a similar backstory, in that they had a hobby which led to a near-fatal accident and now they’re too traumatised to resume said hobby. And that’s not a bad thing per se but... “near fatal accident” was already Fiona’s backstory. We didn’t need a duplicate. And this is more personal preference, but I kinda liked Haoyu’s story in the game anyway. His failure at building a functioning aeroplane out of crap he found in his garage is endearingly funny in the game, and the resolution of him taking time out to sit down and study before building anything is a nice spin on the whole “if at first you don’t succeed” theme the chapter wanted.

Sana “Bird Lady” Hudson: So the book decided they didn’t want to make Cal an angry sore loser so guess what? They made Sana an angry misanthrope. Wonderful. Okay maybe that’s harsh, but she definitely came off as very bitter and unsympathetic in the book. Like there’s a scene at the end where she harasses a firefighter and tries to steal a fire engine because they’re working on a building fire and not supervising her park. That’s not a character you wanna root for. That’s a Karen. The game had a better plot thread and resolution to her story rather than a boring cookie-cutter “humans vs. nature grrrr humans are so evil” story, like the game story here had a bit more depth to it and approached the topic more maturely than the book did. Which is ironic considering how hilariously edgy the book gets sometimes, but I guess throwing a few smashed eggs and frozen bird skeletons into your story doesn’t mean anything if you’re still going to paint such a black-and-white narrative.

Iben “Frozen Elsa” Bia: This story didn’t need dialogue. Like... we don’t need her to justify why she’s upset her parents are dead because we’d already assume that. They’re her parents! Of course we’d assume she’d be upset! They died! Simultaneously! That’s horrible! WE DON’T NEED HER TO EXPLAIN THIS! Also her dialogue in the book was... pretty terrible, not gonna lie. Like if you’re gonna insist on dialogue at least make it gOOD. I’m actually planning on just reviewing her book scene so I can fully articulate just how bad it is anyway, so stay tuned for that mess lol.

FINE IN BOTH

I mean there’s not really too much to say here but anyways:

Jose/”The Farmer” having a family in the book gives him a bit more depth, even if we never hear from them again after his backstory dump.

Fiona/”Dolphin Girl” almost drowns in a slightly different way, with a dolphin straight up pulling her mask off rather than knocking it out of her mouth, and the book also goes more into detail about her love for diving and dolphins. Also the book ships her and Haoyu like. So hard. Like they never shut up about how similar they are or what they other’s doing or if the other’s okay or not. By the end of it I was expecting them to just start making out in front of everyone, they’re that obsessed with each other. And it would be funny if they didn’t use this to wreck Haoyu’s backstory like I mentioned earlier.

Yuri/”Bug Kid”/”Is that a Pokémon reference?” is now being kinda bullied for liking bugs, which yeah gives her more depth and reason to be upset but I also kinda related to her just being that One Kid with interests that nobody else had. But it’s not as bad as some of the other changes, so I can let it slide.

Atillio/Clown and Bruce/Old Man are the same, nothing to say here.

Lucy/”The Artist” is a total drama queen but then again so are Art People so I can let it slide. I did like them changing her problem from “artist’s block” (seriously?) to her feeling too under pressure to create masterpieces, unless that’s what the game was aiming for? Oh who cares.

JUST A BIG MESS

Cass “Dead Cat Girl” Milligan: This is a weird one because the story is the same between the game and book (though the book mentions she witnessed a more severe car accident rather than a speeding car which she assumes kills the cat, and the cat isn’t even her cat, it’s a stray) but the story itself is... flawed. According to the book, they wanted to convey the idea that running away from the accident was irresponsible, and she just needed to look back and she’d see her cat is okay, but the game kind of makes it look more like Balan turned back time to save her cat, and the book mentions a serious car crash which I don’t think anyone would willingly return to. I feel there’s a better way to convey this idea of being responsible for your pets, like say her cat escapes from the house and gets lost, and her resolution is going out and properly looking for it. That’s a more effective (and natural) way to relay that message, especially as they weren’t going to commit to the idea of grieving a lost pet.

I’M CONFLICTED

Cal “Chess Daddy” Suresh: God this was a tough call. On one hand Cal’s game backstory is one of the ones most YouTube players single out as the weakest backstory in the game. He’s just “that guy who lost one game of chess”. Being right before Iben’s level certainly doesn’t help. I could honestly write a separate post about how bad the story placements are in this game but that’s too long for here. On the other hand, I still... kinda like it? Like I like this idea of him being a sore loser with a bad temper who needs to learn some humility, sure it’s not as serious as “I almost drowned” or “my parents are dead” but one of the few good things about the game is that it balanced “serious” stories with “benign” ones, if that makes sense. HOWEVER His book scene is... probably one of the best written in the whole book. Which isn’t saying much, but it felt like it hit the intended degree of darkness that the rest of the book was trying to hit. One of my main issues with the book is how much it edged up everyone’s backstory, which doesn’t sound bad but when you have 12 characters with edgy backstories to sit through, it starts to feel like a 14 year old's first attempt at writing an angsty fanfiction very quickly. And yes, Cal’s story is dark and angsty but it felt like the perfect balance of dark and angsty. Or as perfect as the book can get. Like even Balan’s annoying rhyming dialogue sounded good for the tone of the scene. Man maybe I should just do a review of both his backstories in a bigger post. Obviously I could be biased because I’m a sucker for chess aesthetics and dark skinned men with long permed hair so I’m just putting more thought into him but still.

Isabella is a minor character of Balan Wonderworld who appears in Chapter 12.

Appearance

Isabella is a young, teenaged girl with fair skin, blonde hair that is pulled up into a high ponytail and teal eyes. She wears a large sky blue ribbon in her hair, a long-sleeved orange dress with a white high collar and buttons, white socks, and black loafers.

Personality

Not much is known about Isabella's personality. In Bruce's ending, her and Erik's silhouettes had looked at each other after noticing Bruce cleaning up the trash by himself. This may suggest that she has an empathetic side to her.

When Bruce notices her and Erik, she is seen smiling before pitching in to help. It is safe to say that she is a kind-hearted and considerate person.

Role

Isabella first appears alongside with Erik as silhouettes. They both notice Bruce cleaning up the trash by himself. When Erik tosses a can into a nearby trash, he and Isabella smile at Bruce before they begin to help him clean up with the rest of the people. Then, she and Erik applaud to Bruce for keeping the streets clean.

She is never seen again after this.

Trivia

Despite being the same height as him, she is nine years older than Erik.

She may have met Erik's and Amalie's parents (Iben and Jon) once. It's possible that she has a good relationship with them.

Alina and Friends Chapter 4:Town and theater.

It was night and all the heroes were sleeping on the boat, which was still sailing. They are wrapped up in a blanket together. When morning came, they were still asleep, but Alina heard a dolphin squeak and woke up.

Alina:Dolphin... (Got out of the blanket and looked at the sea. Later I saw something) Wow.

Christina:What's there?

Alina:There's a dolphin there.

The others:A dolphin?

The others stood up and saw the blue dolphin. For Alina, this dolphin seemed familiar, which made her smile.

Daisy:I didn't know you liked dolphins.

Alina: Yes.

Rosa:He's so cute.

Spongebob:And he clearly doesn't look like us.

The dolphin saw the heroes and became interested. He swam up to them and squeaked to them.

Heroes:Hi. (Sanya strokes the dolphin)

Patrick:(Happily) Oh, honey.

Alina:Please tell me, you are not familiar with 12 people?

The others were surprised at the question, and the dolphin nodded.

Sanya:And he knows the human language.

Alina:(An idea came up) Mr. Krabs, try to punch through the top of the boat so you can see.

Since only Squidward and Kayna touched the ground, they walked as Mr. Krabs ordered. They had just reached the town of Highland Isle.

Alina:Yeah.

Mr. Krabs: Stop.(Squidward and Kayna stopped) The color is red at the traffic light.

While the heroes were standing, people noticed them.

Man №1:He's kind of weird.

Mr. Krabs:Won't those people from the world of miracles eat me and my staff?

Alina:Who will eat humanoid marine life?

Patrick:That's smart.

Mr. Krabs:That's it, green, let's go.

The heroes continued to walk calmly until Alina saw through the cracks a familiar pizzeria with the inscription "Freddy Fazber's Pizzeria".

Christina:What is Alina?

Alina:This pizzeria reminded me of something. There is no such thing in Highland Isle. (I noticed that they stopped) What's happening?

Alina:Tim? (Tim nodded) Do you know where my friends are?

Tim points Alina in the right direction and she follows him.

Before that, with the others.

The heroes continued to run until Lula noticed that Alina was not there.

Lula:Guys, Alina is not here. (Everyone stopped)

Krash:How not?

Squidward:Don't tell me they've been caught.

Tim jumped out of Kayne's hand and points to the right place.

Bokko:He probably needs help, or he found Alina.

The heroes followed tim while the silhouettes left.

Meanwhile, with SpongeBob and his friends.

SpongeBob and his friends searched on the beach and didn't find it either.

Spongebob:Have you found it? (His friends shook their heads)

Sandy:She's not here. We even asked the dolphin.

Patrick:(Sad) Really, we'll never find Alina.

Suddenly they heard a chirp. When they turned around, they saw a pink tim with Rabbit ears and a yellow flower on his head.

Balan then floats on the ocean stage, and then it changes to a small town while Alina and the girls fly by.

Alina:(Happily) How fun!

Then SpongeBob and his friends fly and land with lifebuoys at sea. But it turns out it was a glass of water when Balan drank it. Then when the door appeared and opened, Balan was dancing in the neon world.

Balan:Well, now... (Kikoriki and Kaina notice the tims) We will go to the wonderworld!
