Daithi

His quirk is Glutton.

A specific version gigantification quirks. The more he eats, the more he grows. A side effect of the quirk is that he constantly has an appetite since a lot of energy is used in making him grow. People aren’t sure if Daithi is naturally over 6’ or if his height is due to his quirk.

Wants to be a hero for the fame and recognition from others.

Friends with Brian from before hero school.

Brian and Daithi have each others’ backs to the end, despite ragging on one another a lot; they’re arguably closer than Daniel & Kevin. Their little squad were the ones who gave him his nickname, Nogla, which he now uses more often than his real name. Their group all wanted to be heroes for fame, money, shits & giggles, etc.

Doesn’t think before he speaks, often leading to confrontations and unfavourable situations — in other words, he’s been diagnosed with foot-in-mouth disease and it’s terminal.

His mouth says things before his brain can process his thoughts. His slurred speech isn’t a great help. It makes him hard to decipher and makes it seem as though he says things he really didn’t.

Kind but still prone to bursts of rage.

He gets frustrated when people don’t understand what he’s saying, whether he’s saying it or not. He is also easy to wind up, a fact duly noted by his friends.

Nogla, as he asks to be called, is a wonder to behold. How he isn’t dead yet — either from his pure lack of technique or from his constant fights with peers — is one of the things keeping me up at night. The best theory I have is that his friends in the third year are protecting him without his knowledge.

Jaren

His quirk, Instinct, allows him to sense the right time to act.

He didn’t realise it was his quirk for years; he just thought he had a good gut instinct. He mainly uses it to win bets by saying stuff akin to “this will happen in 3, 2, 1”. In combat it allows him to act in sync or in complementary fashion to allies, dodge attacks, parry attacks, and throw things while saying “YEET”. It may also influence how he acts but due to the vague nature of Instinct this is hard to verify.

In the hero game originally for shits and giggles.

He still very much is, don’t get me wrong, despite growing to care more about helping people. He now tries to rein in the worrying jokes his friends make, especially when they’re on missions actually in front of civilians.

Considered a member of the Banana Bus Squad although he does associate more with other groups.

Insists on having 3D sunglasses and a propeller hat in his costume.

John has tried to talk him out of the hat multiple times.

In spite of prior doubts as to whether Jaren would be a suitable hero, given his devil-may-care attitude to everything, he has dedicated himself to becoming a great hero during his time so far at Y.T. He has the highest speed ranking of any student that cannot use their quirk to boost it — a fact only possible because of his excessive use of the academy’s treadmills, though only one in particular.

The thin layer of sweat that glistened over his freckled cheeks, the off set glance, the furrowed eyebrows. But what confused you the most was the rose he clutched in his sweaty yet delecate hands. But your confusion barly lasted a second longer as trusted the rose towards you. He said not a word, other than a tiny squeak of fear. Normally, you would take the gift and politely deny. But the fact that each thorn had been ever so carely plucked off, that each petal was of the finest of pinks, and the beauty that held the rose. Persuaded you to accept both the rose and the offer that the boy stuttered out after. "would you like to go on a date?"

Seán

His quirk is Hype. It stores positivity from those around him & himself to increase his own energy.

The energy boosts can improve strength, speed, reaction time, etc. Seán can choose which parts of his body to boost if he doesn’t want to boost the whole thing. It manifests similarly to Deku’s quirk: green electricity within Seán’s body that can be seen through his skin ( enough energy can even make his sclerae to glow bright green ). His body can only store so much energy and excess manifests externally, damaging his body.

Wants to be a hero to help anyone and stop any suffering he can, including villains’.

He is the only Lad with a “heroic” main motivation. Brian often makes jokes about this, saying Seán is really in it for the power, which he plays along with.

Youngest of 9.

Siblings include, but are not limited to: a beloved, unfortunately deceased pro hero; a rightfully infamous villain; a largely unknown yet successful underground hero. Seán’s relation to the villain and dead hero is public knowledge.

Terrified of heights.

He restrains the energy he exerts from his legs so he doesn’t jump too high. He knows he has to get over it but it’s hard.

Around others, he is energetic and friendly. He is also known to like peace and quiet, all by himself.

When his classmates first found this out they were worried something had really wrong for him. He just likes a bit of solitude. They did come to understand this in time and learnt to leave him be.

The most popular Lad.

He’s friends with other students who want to be “real heroes” like him, who tend to be popular too. He’ll always make time for the Lads, though.

Seán is definitely at an advantage over his peers due to his family connections and prior training. Despite this, he is still holding himself back in ways he knows and ways he does not. It’s no doubt Jack played a major role in his upbringing. We can only hope Seán manages to free himself from his fears before he next meets his brother.

An Introduction to Y.T. Academy

Welcome to the home of the YouTubers’ Hero Academia au, You Too Academy! A hero school that accepts students from all around the world and trains them to be the best heroes, support technicians, managers, marketers, tacticians — whatever part they want to play in hero society — they can be.

This au is a BNHA/MHA au featuring a bunch of YouTubers and streamers, as well as other characters ( fictional or not ) that may be tied to them.

I wouldn’t go into this expecting a story though one may develop as the creation of the au plays out. I am trying to come up with backstory stuff, some of which is hinted at already in the Irish Lads’ bios, but I have no idea what I’m doing as you can see from the logo and god awful name. If you’re willing to stick around, feel free; if you want to leave immediately, I don’t blame you.

If folks do get interested, I’d love any feedback or ideas you get.
