The Talk

(Ava is @slaasherslut not my OC)

Percy Jones had no drive to write today. Her hands were sore and staring at her computer just made her sad she had made enough progress for the week. Why not take a day off? The sky outside was bleak and cloudy, Bo still had gone to the garage. She needed a change in clothing to take the edge off and hauled herself up to change. Her walk in closet was filled with many things mostly because she shared it with her boyfriend. Digging through his pajamas she came across a large pair of grey sweatpants with tie string. She climbed out of her heels, out of her skirt and stockings and into those pants. Looking in the mirror she knew she needed to coordinate and decided to raid Bo's clothing, finding a worn ACDC shirt and a ratty black jacket. She even tossed off her bra for good measure and let down her hair. She couldn't help herself and teased her hair with her hands a little. She looked like a college bum. Good. Take a day off from looking nice too.

Someone knocked at the door and Percy looked over. "Door's open!"

Ava poked her head inside. "You texted?"

"Sure did." The Novelist got off the couch and her sister feigned a gasp at her clothing choices. "Percy Jones? Did you lose your job? Did hell freeze over miss prissy pants?"

Percy laughed. "Charming as usual, Bunny. No, I did NOT lose my job. It is my day off and I don't wanna dress nice so sue me." She ended with playfully sticking out her tongue. Both of them laughed.

The pair went to the kitchen as Percy prepared her sister her Americano. Ava leaned against the counter, watching her with deep interest. She had definitely used one of these before.

"How do you want yours sissy, hot or iced?"

" Iced please!"

"Little lady wants it iced.." she began grabbing the ice and the cute cups she bought for the espresso machine.

"You know I never get to use this for Bo? Him and Lester are what I refer to as coffee purists. Black coffee, straight no cream, no sugar, no shots."

Ava loved her baby but. "you mean Wrong."

"yes but we should respect their decision to be wrong. Thank god at least one Sinclair doesn't mind coffee. I should take some over for Vincent later. I kinda owe him for trashing him in Scrabble the other night."

The pair thought back to when the silent artist foolishly challenged a well read well versed Novelist to a game of Scrabble.

Bo was more than happy to see his younger brother lose after so many games lost to him. The girls laughed.

"Vinny was so pissed…."

"What word did you use to set him off?"

"Oxyphenbutazone. Fished me a cool 1,778 points if I remember correctly."

The coffee maker beeped and Percy set back to work again.

Macavity hopped up on the counter and Ava scratched his head. "There we are! One Iced Americano."

The girls retreated to the couch, leaving on a movie but barely paying attention, too busy chatting to eachother about random topics. "Third Cylinder in the Benatar isnt firing. I really need to have it looked at but I dont wanna leave the house."

"Can't you just text Bo?"

"Nope. Too lazy."

Ava was surprised at her Elder sisters demeanour. "You really are relaxed right now aren't you?" Looks q11q

"Mmhm."

Silence.

Percy sat forward. "You don't have a car, I've always found that strange."

"I don't really mind it, I like riding with Lester plenty."

"But if you could have your own car, what would it be?"

Ava's smile fell, a pregnant pause. "My dad before he passed, was working on one for me. A 1966 Plymouth Barracuda. Cherry Red…..my mom sold it."

Percy was shocked. "Sold it?!? What!!! Why????"

Ava explained what happened on that bleak day.

Percy held her younger sister as she retold her story, crying all over again.

"Nobody should have to go through what you went through." Percy wound her fingers though Ava's hair. "I don't understand why people have the capacity to hurt people out of envy or spite. I take it Lester told you about what happened to their Parents?"

The blonde nodded silently.

"I honestly don't blame the boys for doing it. They did what they thought they had to. All that abuse stacks up and it boils over into something violent."

More silence. "Why don't you stay the night? I'm sure Mia would be happy to have her Aunt stay over. I'm sure Lester would understand."

Ava nodded, wiping her tears. "I'd like that."

The Walker royal family (main branch)

Here they are in their glory! The main family of the Mystique tales and Great Wizards Au! (Excuse the shitty handwriting 😞)

Some lore and informations under the cut~.

Ramilia and Lavi:

—They’re three years apart, Ramilia being born on October 10th, 1594. And Lavi was born on July 29th, 1591. (This is all based on the anime timeline that Acier had died a few days or hours after Noelle was born in 1619)

—their marriage was arranged, Ramilia first met Lavi on the day she turned 14 (with Lavi being 17 at the time).

—they both come from royal families, Lavi married into Ramilia’s family. He originally was born in house Hart, he was the oldest of three (having two younger sisters, Minerva and Emma. Minerva is Mimosa and Kirsch’s mother, Making them Noelle’s paternal cousins instead of maternal).

—Ramilia is the second oldest, she has one older sister, Elizabeth. and a younger twin brother, Alexander. And a younger sister who died at 12 when Ramilia was 16, Wendy. And the youngest is Raymond, who is 23 years younger than Ramilia.

—The Walker family originally inhabited the land five centuries prior to the Silvamillion family coming to the land, the Silvamillions forced the Walker family (who were lead by the 18th great wizard at the time) to retreat to a place known as the back lands (known as the forsaken realm nowadays).

—in the late 1120’s the Walker family and the Silvamillion family signed a peace treaty. And in 1140, the clover kingdom rose with the Silvamillion family and the Walker family as the rulers.

—the Hart Family was a branch that originated from the Vermillion family back in the late 1290’s because of a disease that spread around their family that caused due to severe incest causing the members’ immune systems to fail immediately, causing the Vermillion’s to almost go extinct. So they split the Earth mages (who are known now as The Hart royal Family, keep in mind not all of them are Earth mages due to different bloodlines integrating into the Hart bloodline, Lavi’s father had fire magic hence the reason why he’s a fire mage, but his sisters have earth magic) and the Fire mages (the Vermillions, obviously the plant Vermillion’s are the exception) and forced these two families to marry out of each other, and now almost 300 years later there is not even a small percentage of incest found in the current families bloodline since the Vermillions/most royals marry from Nobility nowadays (Lavi and Minerva are the only exception today)

—the reason that made house Hart give up the man who could’ve been the next house head, was because Lavi was a failure in their eyes. He couldn’t control his magic at all, it constantly ran wild and in his first days as a magic knight he would accidentally injure his squadmates, eventually it caused the burn scar on his right eye (Also royals see scars as a sign of weakness that’s why Lavi’s family were so eager to get rid of him), and was everything a royal shouldn’t be, empathetic, caring and loyal towards the people and wanted to change the way the royal families treated their citizens of lower classes.

—when Lavi tells Ramilia this is the reason, Ramilia makes it her mission to make it possible for him to do these things he envisioned. Being the Great Wizard made it easy for her to make his ideals a reality.

—they got married the following year as soon as Ramilia turned 15 (the consent age at that time), and Lavi had already been 18 for a while (before anyone comes at me, Lavi never went near Ramilia at all. He despised the idea of being married to a barely legal child, so they never consummated their marriage until Ramilia was 23 and Lavi was 26, they had the twins at 25 and 28) the main reason that they were arranged was due to the lack of birth of any true blood successors in the last 47 years prior to Ramilia’s birth.

—Ramilia’s birth was hailed a miracle. as her Grandmother, Elizabeth the 18th who reigned as the 48th Great Wizard was the last true blood successor for nearly fifty years.

—the Walkers during this time had found out that Chaos (the power that gives them the right to use the chosen successor’s magic “Dark matter” and gives the successors the Black Blood that Walker Family is known by in the Clover Kingdom). Had chosen to abandon them during the period between the 48th and the 49th, thus causing the period to be referred to as the “the shameful era”.

—and now you’re wondering, if Ramilia is the 50th, and Noelle’s the 51st, who was the 49th then? Simple, a woman named Marlin Atkins, she was the first and only outsider to be called The Great Wizard. (She has her own lore, we’re not getting into that here)

—Ramilia came from an abusive Mother and a cowardly father who couldn’t do anything about the way his wife had been treating his children.

—Lavi is the current captain of the Crimson Lions, Fuegoleon is his Vice-Captain.

—the Great wizard is actually considered the real ruler of clover, they put a king just for show and for the sake of the peace treaty. So you can basically say Ramilia is the Clover Queen, although she hates it.

—the wizard kings are considered the second righthand men to the Great Wizards, focusing on the military power and external country affairs, and being in charge of enlisting/disbanding magic knight squads. While the great wizards concern themselves with the internal country affairs and keeping the people in check.

—there is a succession elemental cycle, it starts with, Wind-water-earth-fire. And along with it, Comes the secondary magic, Dark matter.

—Dark matter is basically a dark substance that changes depending on the element, for example, Ramilia was born in the wind cycle, the easiest to control and the most lightest element, it gives Dark matter the opposite qualities, When Ramilia uses it she gets covered by a heavy dark armour which causes her attacks when using it along with her wind magic to deliver more damage.

—the Great Wizards have the same elements as their zodiac signs, Ramilia is a Libra which is an air sign, and she possesses wind magic as her cycle element.

—each Great Wizard has a name for their era and generation. Marlin was “The shameful” Era/Generation. Ramilia’s Era is referred to as “The Mystique” Era/Generation.

Noah and Noelle:

—They’re twins, it is common for twins to be born in the Walker family (Ramilia’s parents were both twins so it made sense why she ended up having twins)

—Noah is the oldest by 10 minutes. And he takes it seriously.

—They’re born on November 15th (obviously), 1619.

—Noelle and Noah are the opposites of each other, where Noelle is friendly and lovable, Noah is a pessimist and uncaring, you can hardly get a reaction out of him for anything, the only person able to get a reaction out of him is Noelle and most of the time it’s negative ones, like yelling at her for being reckless or being a bad example for their younger siblings.

—the twins were an accident, Lavi hadn’t meant to get Ramilia pregnant as they have been busy raising Ray and agreed to never have children and hoped that one of Ramilia’s siblings would be the one to give her a successor to the Great Wizard title, when they found out that Ramilia was pregnant she had already been to far along to abort the babies, so they had them.

—it was a pleasant surprise to Ramilia and Marlin when Noelle was born with the black blood, and it made Ramilia’s problems a bit easier.

—since she’s the next Great Wizard, Noelle wears a certain coloured earring on her left ear, it is a tradition in the Walker family to wear them to indicate your status within the family, so the color of Noelle’s earring indicates that she’s the next/current Great Wizard. Ramilia wears the same coloured earring in the same spot.

—Noah also wears an earring in the same spot that Noelle and his mother do, this indicates that he’s the oldest and the next/current house head, Ramilia wears the same coloured earring in a different spot. And he has another ear piercing that is traditional for males of the Walker family to wear.

—generally, the Walker Family favours the females rather than the males, so unless the firstborn is a boy the position of house head tends to go to the deserving/stronger females of the family.

—Noah has wind magic, While Noelle possesses water magic since she was born in the Water cycle.

—Noelle’s Era has yet to be named, But Ramilia predicts that it’s gonna be called “The Valkyrie” Era. (No, this is totally not because of Noelle’s Valkyrie armour).

—Noah Joins the family squad, The White Tigers (are you really surprised that I have them in this Au as well 🌚). While Noelle is sent by her parents to the Black Bulls.

Ava:

—Ava was born on February 12th, 1622. She was an accident like the twins.

—she has fire magic, and is the only one so far between her siblings to inherit their father’s magic.

—she’s similar to Mimosa in personality.

—She’s close to Noelle. Ramilia used to joke that Ava would dye her hair if she could to look like Noelle, she admires her sister so much and brags about how she’s going to follow in their mother’s foot steps and become an even amazing Great wizard than their mother.

—Albert gets on her nerves constantly.

—she has expressed her wishes to Join the Black bulls to be with Noelle, to which Noelle forbade her from for obvious reasons.

—she’s the best one in her siblings with magic control, she was able to do a full spell at 9 despite not possessing a Grimoire at all.

—she’s a daddy’s girl, actually both Noelle and Ava are daddy’s girls. Lavi adores his daughters too much.

—she wears an earring like Noelle, but it’s magenta while Noelle’s earring is purple, to indicate she’s a “spare” successor.

Albert:

—Albert was born on august 10th, 1624. Unlike his siblings, Albert was planned.

—basically Ramilia and Lavi went through some serious shit and realized how much they loved each other, and how they wanted to leave the evidences of their love and life behind, hence why Albert happened.

—he has wind magic.

—Albert is Ramilia’s favourite, he was the easiest pregnancy and the easiest delivery and the easiest baby to deal with.

—due to this, Albert becomes a huge mama’s boy, but Ramilia knows when to step back and dial down on spoiling him so that Albert doesn’t become a brat.

—he’s the one with the most resemblance to his father, Ramilia jokes that Albert is a carbon Copy of a younger Lavi, which he is.

—he’s a known prankster, he gets on Ava’s nerves a lot and gets in severe trouble for it. (He’s the main reason Lavi started graying this early, besides Mereoleona obviously). The only person he never pranks is Mimosa because he’s terrified of her and finds his cousin scary, no one believes him when he says this, because no one can imagine sweet and lovely Mimosa as someone scary.

—he used to be the youngest and enjoyed the attention he constantly got. Then Nolan was born and the attention shifted from him which caused him to start acting more appropriately nowadays.

—just like Ava, he’s super close to Noelle. When he was a bit younger he used to sleep with Noelle in her bed when she’d let him, and they would stay up at times way past their bed time just talking about magic theories and old stories of the previous Great Wizards.

—he wants to join the crimson lions to be near his father, But Ramilia is hell bent on sending him to the Golden Dawn since Mimosa would keep him well behaved.

Nolan:

—the baby! He shares the same birthdate as the twins. He was born on November 15th, 1634. Which was Noelle and Noah’s 15th birthday.

—he was an accident, Ramilia freaked out on Lavi when she found out. And Lavi freaked out too because at that point they were both 39 and 42 and had no desire to raise a child all over again. But they had Nolan in the end and it all turned out good.

OC Tag Game

I tag: anyone who wants to do this.

I am putting this under a cut because some of these responses got LONG lmao.

* I am SO sorry that I’m so late responding to this but I needed time to Think Thoughts and then get them at least mostly in order (I hope.)

FAVOURITE OC: WHY ARE YOU MAKING ME CHOOSE THIS IS SO HARD!!!!

I mean, I love all of my OCs in one way or another so it’s very hard to pick. In the interest of not having any overlap with the other categories I’ll answer this one last. I was initially stuck choosing between Valencia Talward my Hunter-heritage Battle Mage, Trouble-mancing Main MC for Lena’s/ @shepherds-of-haven IF because I do love her a lot because she’s very kind and courageous, and the way Lina has coded the personality/talent stats you can excel in more than one rather than picking one and sticking with it (ONLY charisma or ONLY intelligence, cunning, etc.) and you can choose multiple and it be feasible. The biggest selling point is the immaculate found family vibe you cultivate with the ROs (that is, if you choose not to be an evil sob) and even better - see the relationship developments between each other this game and these characters and this world are made with obvious love and care. Can’t recommend ShoH enough. BUT.

I decided that the most logical choice for Favourite OC is my apprentice Estelle Circinus from The Arcana game. I have her as my icon and as my blog banner along with Asra, she’s the OC I have the most art commissions of - and I plan to add to that particular collection in the future. And finally, she’s also up there with Alice of being one of my most developed OCs with lore, backstory, what her future looks like beyond canon and I also have multiple AUs for her in various stages of development. So, Estelle is my final answer.

NEWEST OC: Aruna Chase/Singh

Aruna is my newest fleshed out OC who is my Baxter-mancer for Our Life: Beginnings and Always (surname Chase to fit this MC’s family.) and is my secondary MC for Our Life: Now and Forever (surname Singh because here the family is MC’s bio mom.) Of course she is obligated to flirt with Baxter at every opportunity before he leaves Golden Grove, but beyond that I don’t know if she’s going to actually romance anyone. (I already have a Qiu-mancer and they’re crushes from childhood. So my options are; making Aruna a Tamarack-mancer from Step 3-on, a Qiu-mancer Step 3-on, or not giving her a romance at all within the confines of the canon storyline for OLNF.) And of course, both games are by @gb-patch though the latter is only a demo at the moment. Highly, HIGHLY recommend playing OLBA though if you haven’t already (especially if you like guys but if not then that’s cool too, you can play completely platonically or aroace instead and not miss TOO much story.)

OLDEST OC: Alice Walker

Alice is my MC originally from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky so when I bought Darkness when it came out in 2008 (according to bulbapedia, geez that really was 15 years ago. I was 12 years old when I first made her. Wow I am feeling old right now lol.) So playing that, then watching Lucario and the Mystery of Mew for the first time years after it was dubbed even, which I saw for the first time around that time + the release of Sky and playing it helped me develop her more. Alice was my first OC, first with an in-depth backstory and lore, and has without a doubt been the OC who has undergone the most evolution (lol) over the years. I still think about her to this day. But yeah, first she was just my MC for Explorers of Darkness/Sky who turned into a Pikachu in Darkness, but then she became someone who could wield Aura, so when Sky came out I made her a Riolu even though only boy MCs could be Riolu but I said screw that. Originally she was born in the Dark Future, but more recently I changed her backstory to being born in the “present” of the Pokemon Universe in the Kingdom (honestly, think it should be Queendom though frfr) of Rota. She’s four??? (this is me forgetting for the moment if I have her start her journey at 13 or 14 years old lol) years older than Red, Blue/Green, Leaf, etc. but still leaves Rota to start her Pokemon Journey at the same time as them and like. Going through the regions/games including The Mains, PMD: Explorers, Rangers of Almia/Oblivia and more recently, fan games like Pokemon Reborn, Insurgence, Empyrean and Rejuvenation (Rejuvenation is without a doubt my favourite of the fan games by far, though they are all really good, but this is still a WIP while the other three are complete.) So yeah, Alice’s new canon birth timeline/existence is a mix of game and anime worlds. She’s an aura guardian and after Arceus resurrects her after her sacrifice to prevent Temporal Tower from collapsing and stop Dialga from becoming Primal Dialga - they make her immortal. But not only that, they also bestow a portion of their power on her so she can act as their agent, and essentially as an avatar or proxy to carry out their will (by continuing to carry out her duty as an aura guardian to safeguard all of creation/life - but to the extreme) in return for them bringing her back to life. So she’s elevated to become a demigoddess, essentially. After that, she’s sent back to her own time, and then all across other points time and space and other dimension, becoming The Deus Ex Machina of Heroes. Because of all this her Trainer Title would have gone from Trainer Alice -> Aura Guardian Alice -> Eternal Guardian Alice. Basically THE Ultimate Mary Sue but she deserves this as the privilege of being my first-ever OC and because cringe is dead...also I ship her with Steven Stone because the age gap definitely closes because of the time-fuckery. Shhhhh.

MEANEST OC: Araina Emroth

I don’t really have any mean OCs tbh because I don’t like making or playing rude/bitchy or cruel characters, so the closest I can get to answering that question would have to be me asking myself who is my ANGRIEST OC? And how do they use that anger/how morally dubious do their actions get because of it? I have a handful of OCs that fit the bill but my reflexive answer to this is my MC Araina Emroth from the IF Spellbound: A Ghost Story. It is solely on the CoG forum but I am begging you - if you haven’t played the demo already please PLEASE do it - it is so good!!!! Anyway, to give you tiny tidbits to make you want to play, the reason why she’s angry is that, since I chose the rebel backstory over the knight backstory, putting it mildly, her kingdom is corrupt. So not only is she out for revenge, she’s of the mindset that she’s ready to take on the ‘whole world’ to cut out the rot of her homeland in order to redeem it even if she has to do it alone. Also in regards to Callum...I chose the childhood rivals bully route for him and as in all things, she never can fully let go of a grudge. So yeah, she's the passionate, charismatic revolutionary in life. And while she mellows out after 800+ years of being dead, hm. Wonder where the future will lead? SOFTEST OC: Fallon Rose

Most of my MCs are pretty-very soft so it’s kind of hard to pick just one, but, I will go with Fallon - my MC from Underfell IF and Mafiafell IF by @darkpetal16 for the fact with how she writes MC, especially in Underfell - is very kind, empathetic, optimistic, and very very forgiving by nature. You’ll see what I mean if you decide to play~ Please do, if you enjoy Undertale and AUs. (Also fun fact, her name is a pun on Fall and Rise.)

MOST ALOOF/STANDOFFISH OC: Serena Klein

Like with the mean OC category I don’t really have any aloof or standoffish OCs so the closest I can answer for this category is Serena Klein, my MC from @attollogame because I play her as intimidating/stoic, and cunning but. I would never say that she’s uncaring or unemotional. If anything, she cares too much and is very emotional but is able to mask it really well (unless it concerns her brother Atticus) and she also has natural RBF.

DUMBEST (AFFECTIONATE) OC: Belle Duval-Emma Tie

It’s a toss up between my main MC for @trinitytrilogy Zeus’ Dilemma, Belle, Demigoddess and Daughter of Aphrodite, who currently has a literal intelligence stat of 0 (RIP) though my headcanon is that she does at least have average intelligence. And my MC for Last Legacy (RIP because of NixHydra the company being complete idiots, and Dorian not really being better it looks very likely it will never be finished because the writers don’t have the creative/ownership rights to it. Not bitter about this at all.) Emma, because she is mostly a self insert aside from the whole barista and makes-own-cosplays cosplayer deal. And me being who I am...enough said lmao.

SMARTEST OC: Chloe Rodgers

Chloe is my main MC from the Keeper Trilogy by @keeperofthesunandmoon is without a doubt my smartest MC as with how high her intelligence stat is, and how quickly she grasps magic in her new life as a magician is prodigious - she is a literal genius.

OC I'D BE FRIENDS WITH: Ava Holden-Last

I’d be friends with Ava for sure, and why am I choosing her aside from making sure there’s no overlap? She’s one of my most normal and well-adjusted OCs, she’s successful, has no mental illnesses, she’s also plus size like me so she knows my struggles. She’s also a fashion designer so you know she’d be putting out fire clothes that I’d go broke for. She would be the extrovert who would adopt me, and of course I gave her my interests and hobbies/hobbies I wish I had as well so we’d get along really well. And I just have to say the she is defying the ‘mean girl californian’ stereotype and absolutely help a guy out with his English homework so he can go out on a date to kiss a cute guy, you know it. You best believe. Also she would threaten to beat up my depression, and I wholeheartedly believe that she would succeed in eradicating it. Can I hear a little about your OCs? I tried to search about them in your blog but I found it kinda hard to find their lore, do you mind telling me a bit about them?

I don't mind at all! I've been extensively examining and reworking my OCs so I can get back into writing for them. Here's a list and short description for them!

These are the OCs currently in my canons for each series. Any others I come up with tend to be in alternate versions.

Dragon Age

Morgan Walker: Ser Morgan the Mysterious, Morgan is the Hero of Ferelden and slayer of the Archdemon. He is also from our world, having hopped through other worlds before landing in Thedas and anchoring there. He had a son with Morrigan before they amicably separated and Morgan fell for Cullen. Morgan is nurturing and compassionate, but also has a sarcastic side, and enjoys goofing around. - Faceclaim: Sebastian Stan

Freyr Surana: King-Consort Freyr is an elf-blooded mage from the Anderfels living in Kinloch Hold and escaped with Jowan. He fell in love with Alistair over the course of their journey and married him. Studious and diligent, Freyr is also deeply kind and loving, and his purity of heart helped keep the group's spirits up. - Faceclaim: Tom Busson

Cas Shepard: Cassander Shepard was once a powerful biotic and Commander of the Alliance Systems. However, at the end of the Reaper War, he and Morgan traveled to the Crucible and due to their powers, ended up crashing into Thedas. Snarky and cocky, but well-meaning at heart, Cas doesn't have it in him to be mean to anyone who doesn't deserve it. Eventually joins the Inquisition and falls for The Iron Bull - Faceclaim: Chris Evans

Havi Amell: A powerful mage from Kinloch Hold, Havi treats Freyr and Alistair like little brothers and cares for them deeply. He is protective and ruthless in the desire to keep them safe. He also quickly learns martial combat to supplement his skills. He is appointed Teyrn of Gwaren, though spends more time with Alistair and Freyr. - Faceclaim: Jorge Cobian

Mila Cooper: A librarian from our world, Mila is a pacifist and stellar potioneer. Her foreknowledge of events helped her to greatly assist the Kirkwall gang, though she was unable to stop Anders. She works as Varric's editor, and thus deals with all his businesses and secret informants. She is energetic and knowledgable, though can be indecisive. She fell in love with Fenris, and is pregnant by Inquisition. - Faceclaim: Britanny Snow

Cal Hawke: The Champion of Kirkwall, Cal is deeply protective of his family. Though he never wished to be a hero, he took on the mantle, and became Viscount for a brief while. He loves Varric, and is a gentle soul at heart, kind and honest. Though he can be pretty lazy and unmotivated. Does get along with his brother, Carver. - Faceclaim: Henry Cavill

Ava Hawke: Ava is a mage, just like her father, and is far more ruthless. She will do whatever she must to protect her family, and is a powerful blood mage. Despite this, she has fallen for Sebastian and become the Witch-Queen of Starkhaven, with the respect of the former Arishok. Desires the power to keep her siblings safe. - Faceclaim: Katie McGrath

Tash Adaar: A young Qunari child, Tash has been a mage from a young age, and is exceedingly powerful. Personable and cheery, though suffering from a deep-seated fear of abandonment, Tash becomes known as the Child of Andraste and then the Inquisitor, and uses this to his political advantage, proving to have a cunning beyond his years.

Vylandin Mithra: Vylandin hails from a mixed Avvar-Dalish clan in the Frostback Mountains, and is of immense stature, while also using his magic to bolster his physical capabilities. He comes to Haven and is appointed the Dalish Advisor to the Inquisition, and serves as liaison to other clans and non-Andrastian allies. He saves Josephine from attack, and the two ambassadors fall for each other from a place of mutual respect. Vylandin has a fondness for terrible jokes. - Faceclaim: Brock O'Hurn

Jack Theirin: The adopted son of Alistair and Freyr, Jack was born as the son of a royal guard. Upon his death, the two Kings adopted the young lad and made him their heir. They raised him as best they could, the lad having latent magical talent, and he became a princely young man of great moral fiber. He ran from home to help the Inquisition, becoming the personal honor guard of Tash. - Faceclaim: Luke Eisner

Gawain Trevelyan: In Ostwick, when the Mage-Templar war broke out, the residents of the Ostwick Circle refused to fight each other. The Ostwickers fought off bands of rebel mages and roving Templars alike, and soon Gawain Trevelyan, third son of a noble house, came to represent them. This group of Templars and mages coexisted and were invited to the Conclave as a prime example of peace. By a stroke of luck, they were late and missed the explosion. Finds himself romancing Blackwall. Gawain is an academic, but a powerful speaker and leader, and the Justinia Delegation, as they became known, is a powerful ally to the Inquisition. - Faceclaim: Jens de Fries.

Orion Shepard - The paragon of justice, Orion and his cousin Cassander shared the main bulk of credit for the triumph against the Reapers. Orion, the first human Spectre, became a symbol of truth and honor, and carefully promoted diplomacy wherever possible. Engaged in a poly relationship with Kadan and Garrus. - Faceclaim: Michael Yerger

Ellis Walker - Morgan's father, the two traveled forward in time to the Mass Effect universe, manifesting strange powers. Ellis had traveled between worlds before, but repressed those memories due to abuse from Morgan's mother. With a crippled self-esteem and high anxiety, Ellis did his best to keep his son safe, but nearing the end of the Reaper War, Ellis stayed with his new lover, Steve Cortez, and tragically had no idea what happened to his son Morgan. - Faceclaim: Misha Collins

Heres a short Ava x Darrell blurb ive had in my wips for a while. They have such a sweet friendship that im disappointed didn't get to be explored as much as I would have wanted, things kept getting in the way.

"Have you done this before?" Ava asked as she plopped down in a chair at Ellie's kitchen table.

"Few times." Darrell shrugged as he poured some vodka into one of Ellie's soup bowls.

"A couple ears mostly, don't think a lip is no different." He handed her the bottle as he dropped the ring and a sewing needle they had swiped from Ellie’s sewing basket in the vodka filled bowl.

"Swish that around in yer mouth." Ava took a swig and handed the bottle back, swishing the alcohol around in her mouth and paying special attention to behind her bottom lip. Darrell walked over to the sink and poured some of the liquid on his hands before placing the now half empty bottle on the counter. When he turned around Ava pulled a face as she swallowed the giant gulp of vodka and violently shook herself out. Darrell chuckled and sat down in the chair in front of her, pulling her closer by the seat of her chair. She shifted her mouth uncomfortably as he shoved his fingers inside her mouth, between her bottom teeth and bottom lip.

"Stop movin' your jaw." He chastised as he gave her a gentle poke on the forehead.

"I can't help it!" Ava said as best as she could. Darrell smiled as he reached into the bowl and grabbed out the needle.

"You ready?" He asked as he shook off the excess alcohol. Ava gently nodded. Darrell was all about doing this for her, it's not like there's anywhere in Ambrose for her to go to get this done, but just thinking about the sight made his skin crawl for a moment. Darrell shuddered as adjusted her bottom lip and quickly shoved the needle through in the middle, just below the lip itself. He quickly looked away from the scene and she winced when she felt the needle go through. Darrell whispered a quick praise with a shaky voice and he let the needle go. He was starting to regret ever agreeing to this. The needle stayed in the hole he created as he grabbed out the ring from the bowl, not once looking up at her.

"What are you two doing in my kitchen?" Ava and Darrell were startled as they turned towards the voice, Ellie stood in the doorway with a confused look across her face and her arms crossed. Darrell shook the remaining vodka off the ring.

"Ava here wanted me to pierce her lip for 'er." He gave her a shaky smile as he motioned towards the girl next to him, not being able to look at her just yet. She gave Ellie a small smile and a wave, well she smiled the best she could with the needle still in her mouth. Once Ellie saw the needle sticking out of Ava's face she looked away in disgust.

"Ew! Ava that's so gross! You couldn't do that somewhere else?" They both looked at each other as Ellie turned around and walked back out to the living room. They looked away, knowing eye contact would make them laugh. "Just clean up when you're done please! We eat there!" Ava tried her best to keep a straight face while Darrell tried to keep his laughter low.

"Yeah let's get this done please. I don't exactly like lookin' atcha right now." Ava barked out a laugh, the stretch of the fresh hole stung a bit.

"Want me to do it?" Ava asked as the pin scraped against the top of her teeth. She saw the uneasy look in his eyebrows that were knotted together in discomfort. Darrell sighed in relief.

"Please do." He smiled as he handed her the ring, turning his attention away to the kitchen window. Ava began to pull out the needle as she chased it with the ring, slipping it in the hole after the needle popped out. The needle was discarded in the vodka bowl, crimson floated around in the bowl like waves in a pond.

“There,” she said finally. “What do you think?” Darrell turned back around and smiled. He lightly grabbed her chin and swivelled her head around. For a moment Darrell was worried that in his moment of squeamishness that he would have fucked up the placement or made it either too low or too high.

“Looks perfect!” He smiled. Just make sure you take care of it.”

“I will!” She reassuringly.

“Next time I come visit I'll bring you some more of em.”

“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” Ava cheered, throwing her arms around his neck in a tight hug. Darrell laughed as he tightly hugged her back. She pulled away and grabbed his hand, tugging his towards the living room.

“Look everyone! Look what Darrell did!”

During a recent interview at The OCS Conclave 2023, Hayter said the love story between Ava and Beatrice, one of the main attractions of the show, was written in secret since the platform wanted to ban it.

“We wanted to have love stories. And it was just about treating everybody as human beings,” he said. “And then when Avatrice [Ava and Beatrice] became the prime sort of shipping object, it just felt right that that was something we would pursue. But our executive at Netflix was uncomfortable with sex on any level, and was like, ‘No…we’re not going to do this Avatrice thing.’ And Simon Barry and I were like, ‘Yeah we are!'”

He added: “Sara Walker, who directed the first two episodes of season 2 and a couple episodes in season 1, she came in and she read the script. And she said, ‘Oh, so we’re not gonna go with the Avatrice storyline?’ And we’re like, ‘No, we are. We just can’t put it in the script. So every time you see ‘she loves her like a friend,’ just understand that’s the story we’re telling.’ So we didn’t tell Netflix what we were doing. But we felt that was the key relationship, and that’s what the audience wanted to see.”

A/N: When I have all the parts ready, I'll be putting links on each post. I'm just really excited and wanted to post this. Also the title has no business being that threatening since I took it from a Byrds song...

Sunlight woke Darrell the next morning. There was a dull pain in his neck where his backpack had been the night before. Stirring, he groaned and opened his eyes.

He was greeted by the sight of a large, dark snout. A moment of panic arrested him, until he remembered where he was. In a field. By the highway. The curious quadruped before him was not a razorback, but a cow. She chewed noisily as she inspected him.

"Down, Bessie." Darrell patted her head. She flicked her floppy ears and grazed on the grass right by him.

Darrell sat up from his makeshift bed. He used a liberal amount of water from his canteen to rinse his mouth and wash his face. Reaching deeper into his pack, he pulled out a scrupulously rationed breakfast of potato chips and a chicken sandwich.

Funny. He tried so hard to shake off the Marine in him, but here he was - acting like one again.

Well, minus the potato chips, he thought.

Bessie snuffled at the little ziploc bag, eager to have a taste. Darrell reached in, crushed a handful of chips, and fed it to her. Once he was done, he bid farewell to his new friend and straddled his bike.

"On my way now," he told his non-cattle friends through text.

Do a wheelie.

Darrell smiled involuntarily and asked Red, "Got bail money? 🤨"

Wheelie you fucking coward.

He did two on the empty highway. Just for fun.

The way to Ambrose was long and winding. Too long, he remarked, eyeing the fuel gauge. He cursed inwardly and, with the same breath, begged heaven to let him have enough to get there.

"Ack! Where's God when you need 'im?" he grumbled as his dirt bike stuttered.

He set the bike on its stand and scratched his head. No soul for miles. No help in sight. Guess he was going to have to push his defeated steed along. He went on for about thirty minutes or so, with the punishing Louisiana sun and the 40-ish pounds on his back bearing down on him.

Panting now, he turned from the Interstate to the byroad Ellie had told him to take. Trees hedged him from either side. The ground was a mixture of silt and dust. It made his throat scratchy.

Darrell became aware of an approaching vehicle from the thrum of an engine and the clatter of tools behind him.

"You need a hand, man?" asked the driver as he let his truck go idle.

Darrell looked through the open driver's side window and regarded the stranger politely. He was grimy and slightly flushed, no doubt from the exertion of a day's early work.

Darrell cleared his throat. "No... I need gas, actually."

The stranger cracked a pleased smile. "Well it's your lucky day! I got some gas right here."

He giddily rummaged about in the cab and retrieved a beat up looking gallon jug. The stranger stepped out and wordlessly urged Darrell to bring his bike forward.

"Please, if it ain't too much. I just need enough to get to Ambrose."

For a moment, the stranger, almost miserly, held back the jug. "Why're ya goin' to Ambrose?" he asked, face cloudy with suspicion.

"Visitin' some friends. M'overdue, s'matter o' fact. Was supposed to get there last night."

Realization twinkled dimly in the stranger's brown eyes. "Say… ya name ain't Darrell by any chance, is it?"

"Yessir, it is."

The stranger eased and flashed him a toothy grin. "Now, ain't it a small world," he cried. "I've heard loads about you from the girls."

Darrell rubbed the nape of his neck. He smiled. "Did ya?"

"Yeah! Boy, you've got everybody standing watch. Tell ya what," said the stranger, "Help me haul your bike into the back. I'll give you a lift."

"Aw, shucks… I-"

The stranger waved him quiet. The gas sloshed in the jug. "No ifs. No buts. No coconuts." He gestured to his truck. "Get."

Darrell stammered thanks and apologies for the trouble. The stranger moved the litter of animal carcasses.They loaded the bike onto the truck, shut the tailgate, and carried on.

"Sorry. What cha say your name was?"

The stranger chuckled. "Lester."

They shook hands as the truck went on its jittery way. Lester was kind to offer Darrell a rag to mop his sweat with. Darrell dragged the cloth over himself and wiped each of his fingers clean.

A strong feeling of liking for the traveler stirred in Lester. That rag was filthy. He had hesitated to hand it over, but Darrell had grabbed it without question.

"You can get gas at the station in Ambrose. Bo, m'brother, runs it."

Darrell shamefully looked at his boots. "Sorry 'bout the dust."

Lester gave another chuckle, his glance straying to Darrell's feet. "S'alright," he assured him, "Truck's had worse than that, f'ya know what I mean." He jerked his head toward the window behind them.

"Good I picked ya up or else you'd be trudging in that for 15 miles more."

"Preciate it, really." Darrell smiled. He was brushing dust off his pants. "Been walkin' for about half o' that 'fore ya found me."

Darrell was quite remarkable to look at, Lester decided.

His hair was the first thing you'd notice: Teal blue and long. The way it tumbled down his shoulders in wisps reminded him of paint, pulled out by water in bright, rippling clouds when you dip your brush into the glass.

There was a silver ring that pierced his plump, pale pink lower lip, and he seemed to have a habit of nibbling on it. He was also very tall. Taller than Bo or Vincent. Almost as tall as Michael. (Really, he didn't think there was anyone taller than that fella.)

His broad chest stretched the fabric of his shirt. His thighs were doing the same to his jeans.

He was handsome, Lester would give him that.

He was also sporting a knife on his right shoe.

Two kinds of bells rang in Lester's mind; An alarm to beware of this stranger, as he wasn't sure of his intentions, and another that told him to hurry and show him his own knife. After all, he had been polite. Hadn't been mean or fussy.

Lester was itching to pull out the bowie when Darrell cheerfully turned the conversation toward matters that concerned him - How had his day been? His work, the weather, the town, the girls? - things he was glad to talk about.

Before he knew it, he saw the wash-out up ahead.

"Think you'll make it?" inquired Darrell, his hand on the dash.

"Just have to flip the hubs into four-wheel."

He didn't have to ask. Darrell hopped out and got to work on the wheels on his side. The beat up truck rattled over the stones, the men inside shared a laugh. "Felt m'brain rattle in m'skull like a bean in a can!" Lester cried as he tried to shake himself right.

Gravel gave way to asphalt and they entered the town. Lester pointed out the gas station just at the end of Main Street. When Darrell asked for the grocer's, he did some quick thinking and said, "There's Flannery's back where we came, but don't cha go in there. F'Joe Flannery sees ya and gabs, you'd be in there all day. If ya need anythin', I'm sure Ellie would be happy to get it for ya. She's an amazing cook. There's Bo!"

His older brother gave the truck a cursory glance, and, with practiced charm, greeted their guest.

"You shoulda called in," said Bo, obligingly filling the dirt bike's tank with gas from the pump."Would've picked you up myself."

Lester had wandered off and was now coming back with the hose. He was aiming it at the bike. He turned the nozzle and a sudden jet of water blasted out of the end, splashing Bo and Darrell's shoes.

Noticing the scathing glare Bo gave him, Lester lowered the hose and apologized. "I got blood and gunk all over your wheels," he told Darrell.

"No! It's fine. It'll wash off." Turning to Bo, he declared, "Wouldn't have made it without him. He's a lifesaver." He extended one large hand and patted Lester's shoulder.

It prompted Lester to step in and swing his arm over Darrell's shoulders. He was awful pleased with himself. It didn't matter that he had to stand on his tippy-toes.

"Sure." Bo said dismissively. "You came down here all the way from where? Devil's Prick?"

"Yessir."

"How's it there? Heard it's haunted."

Darrell laughed. "By hicks like me."

While they spoke, they were blithely unaware of Ava and Percy scuttling from the Sinclair house, down Main Street, to Ellie's house. They had heard Lester's truck and spotted the tall man at the station.

They came running back, now with Ellie in tow, one hand hiking up her dress skirt and the other clutching a lime green frog.

When she screamed "DARRELL!", the three men leapt clean off the ground. Lester's fingers instinctively tightened on Darrell's jacket, and he had to clutch his chest to make sure his heart wasn't going to give.

Ellie shoved the frog into Lester's hands and braced her arms around Darrell's torso. "You made it! I was so worried when you didn't arrive last night!"

"I-I know, Ellie… I'm sorry."

She gave him a light squeeze. "Shh! No! Don't apologize. Now, I want you to meet my sisters."

She passed Darrell around for the girls to fawn over, which they did despite his shyness. "I'm covered in God knows what. I probably smell like a dog in the sun."

"That's two of us, then. I've been out in the garden."

"Alia and Michael are back there too," Percy said. "They'll be delighted to meet you!"

Ava looped her arm with Darrell's and started to lead him to the house Ellie shared with Vincent. "Come on! Jason and Merry are set up not far from there."

All three women began to chatter, making Darrell throw his head from side to side.

"That boy's gonna end up like a bruised fruit by sundown!" Bo chided. His warning fell on deaf ears.

He saw his twin in the distance - shoulders tense and visibly uneasy. Bo knew that look. He was sizing Darrell up, suddenly unhappy about the attention he was getting from Ellie.

Psst!

Vincent snapped out of it and met Bo's gaze. With a frown, Bo wordlessly told him to be nice. Try to get along for godsake.

Vincent, hunching as if to get away from a whip, buried his hands in his pockets and trailed after the girls.

"Here. Hold this."

Lester was holding out the frog.

"No," Bo said flatly - body poised to bolt.

"Ok."

Lester set the frog down on the ground and trotted after the girls. It stayed put, locked in a standoff with Bo.

He picked up the hose. Aimed and blasted the frog away. Then, he wheeled Darrell's bike into the garage.
