This. This is why you need to vote. This is why voting matters. If you aren't familiar with things like the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025, they are a literal organization and the no joke playbook created by said organization that are dedicated to destroying anything they consider queer, pedophilic, trans, foreign, or against their ideals. Which is basically anything even slightly left of christian fascism. When you argue that voting doesn't help, when you tell people it doesn't matter, you're helping these people win. So please, please for the fucking love of everything, vote. Vote. Because these people will vote.

Russian Supreme Court To Hear Justice Ministry Lawsuit Calling For LGBT Movement To Be Designated 'Extremist'
The Russian Supreme Court will hear a lawsuit filed by the Justice Ministry calling for the "international LGBT movement" to be designated "extremist" and its activities in Russia banned. The lawsuit will be heard on November 30, according to the Justice Ministry's website. The lawsuit, filed on November 17, alleges that "signs and manifestations of an extreme nature" had been identified in the "activities of the LGBT movement operating on the territory of the Russian Federation." The activities, the ministry added, included "the incitement of social and religious hatred" that it said violate Russia's Law on Countering Extremist Activity. The ministry did not define what it considered the "international LGBT movement" to be in its lawsuit. More >

Like anti-gay conversion practices citing "sexual fluidity", anti-trans activists have alleged that gender dysphoria is fluid and transient. But behind the scenes, Genspect parents wonder why their trans kids still aren't "desisting" after several years.

Florida could be banning all mastectomies, even at the cost of a woman’s life. If you’re biologically female living in Florida, you should get out before breast cancer treatment becomes illegal.
I do not know if this applies to biological males with breast cancer. I dunno what the treatment for that is.

Elon Musk is weaponizing Twitter against transgender people
“In 2023, you’ll no longer find him claiming to support transgender people, but you will still find him complaining about pronouns. Now, however, he’s giving alt-right transphobes an assist by claiming that people use their pronouns as a shield to protect themselves from being called out for genuinely nefarious behavior ...
“Watch Musk’s tweets for a while, too, and you’ll see that he actively interacts with and amplifies explicitly anti-trans accounts. ‘Odd,’ he replies simply to the same “End Wokeness” account, in a tweet this week, which attempts to group transgender and Black people with mass shooters ...
“Notably, the journalist Matt Binder recently highlighted that Musk not only follows Libs of TikTok — an account known for its intense transphobia and for highlighting trans people and their allies for dogpiling — but he also pays a subscription fee for their tweets. Libs of TikTok had been banned from Twitter for hateful conduct prior to Musk’s arrival. The account had targeted children’s hospitals providing gender-affirming care for harassment. Now, their tweets are promoted via the algorithm — even if you don’t follow the account — and regularly boosted by Musk himself. Even the explicitly anti-trans ones.
“Arguably then, when Musk amplifies accounts like Libs of TikTok, which trigger bomb threats at hospitals, he’s enabling a campaign of stochastic terrorism against transgender people and their allies. Inarguably, he actually pays to subscribe to one of the most virulently transphobic and hateful accounts on the platform.”

If your response to florida passing bills that would allow transgender genocide is "now is the time to leave florida" you really have no understanding of how the world works.
Important information below in regards to data on transgender people.
The poverty rates of LGBTQIA+ people are higher than those not in the community. 1 2 3
About 3 in 10 trans adults are living in poverty. (29%)
These numbers are even worse for trans poc: About half of Latinx transgender adults are living in poverty (48%) About Four in 10 black transgender adults are living in poverty. (39%) Source
On top of this, according to a mass survey done by William's Institute in 2017, 4.6% of Florida's population is LGBT. That's the 9th highest state percentage wise, you can actually see it pretty clearly on this map:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at the % of those LGBT people with Children.
And before people come saying "well this is from 2017" and "this includes LGB people as well": You're absolutely right. As of right now it's very difficult to find information on the number of trans people living in each state. This is part of why it's so hard for laws to be passed in regards to rights of trans people. Right now, a lot of studies include trans people in the LGBT category, not separate.
Census-wise, gender identity was only just included in census reports in 2021. In 2021, 0.6% of the adult population who responded to this survey identified as transgender. BUT KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A SMALLER SAMPLE SIZE, AS THIS IS EXPERIMENTAL DATA.
Gender Identity has yet to be included in one of the U.S. 10-year Census. In 2020, data was collected for same-sex couples in the household, but that was it. LGBT Data was supposed to be collected, but e a certain president struck LGBT data collection off of the census in 2020.
I need people to understand two things:
LGBTQIA+ People exist everywhere and are trying very, very VERY hard to fight for their rights. The things that are making it hard are a lack of collection of data, human rights violations being passed into law, and things like gerrymandering separating voters out and squashing their voices.
LGBTQIA+ People have higher rates of poverty.
Stating that any trans people living in Florida should simply leave is an extremely classist and privileged statement.
Think about it this way, and I can't believe I need to put this into elementary school wording, but sometimes people just need to realize the absurdity of their statements:
If your state suddenly put the death penalty in place for people with your eye color for simply existing, would you be able to move to another state without that law? Would you personally have the emotional, physical, mental ability to leave? What about the finances? Are you trapped in a lease with your apartment? Maybe you have children and finding schooling would be difficult. Do you have the means of transportation? How about finding affordable housing in a state nearby?
Do you see how ridiculous it is to just tell someone to move? Not to mention that the more people in the demographic who move away and leave, the less people of that demographic exist in the state, and the more likely it is that more laws will be passed in order to criminalize and kill people in that demographic.
This isn't a black and white problem. This is a multi-faceted issue and there's no way I can delve into every single thing that led up to or continues to push anti trans legislature in Florida alone.
What matters is we spread ACCURATE information on how what these bills entail. We show support for trans people living in states like Florida. We donate to causes trying to support those people: The Trevor Project | Planned Parenthood
If anyone else has information on places to donate to directly help folks in Florida, feel free to add.
Just please remember that NOT EVERYONE CAN LEAVE FLORIDA ON A WHIM.

Another question only for radical feminists ('cause I really wanna understand you)!
I might answer this poll (even if I'm not a radfem, lol), but I can't see the results until the poll duration finishes, and I'm really curious! :)

WELL HERE WE FUCKIN GO
The GOP are ALREADY moving to make ALL OF US illegal again. This is a national "don't say gay" bill, defining LGBT existence as "sexually-oriented."
It's the same shit they pulled in the 90s when they called our existence "gay propaganda." Just like in Russia, by the way.
This bill Rep. Mike Johnson (R-CA) is pushing is the same lie that they pushed in the 90s. "Gay propaganda" - still the Russian term! - was any non-condemnational mention of our existence. (It was okay to condemn us! Just not mention us neutrally or positively.)
And here we have Mike Johnson and the Republicans sliding the same sorts of bans on mentioning our existence into Federal bills now. "Sexually oriented material" throws "queers exist" right into the same pile as child porn.
THIS IS INTENTIONAL. IT WAS INTENTIONAL THEN, IT IS INTENTIONAL NOW.
THIS is what the GOP do with power, every chance they get. Give them power at your peril - and mine.

11/30/23: KOSA is an anti-LGBTQIA+ censorship bill. It is essential you call THIS week. Tell them you are specifically against KOSA and especially against hotlining the bill.
Call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected to the Senator of your choice.
Here is one that will send your reps a fax: https://resist.bot/

actually crying with laughter
I got blocked by Ricky Gervais because I asked him to make me laugh instead of being a lazy ass comedian.
Happy to punch down communities who already are punched down, can't take it when people criticise him. What a pathetic and weak 'comedian'.
Guess I was too challenging for him :/
Also, he searches his name, because my tweet didn’t even @ him, I just asked him to make me laugh instead of being a lazy ‘comedian’.
