Woof... Um... I think my writing can do a good job of conveying emotion to the reader? At least that's what I gather from reader comments. And I tend to hear that my characterizations are pretty on point, which is a pretty awesome compliment in my opinion.

❌ What’s a trope you will never write? I hate to say NEVER, but probably truly dark non-con. It's just not within my capabilities and I would struggle with it too hard to even attempt it.

My husband, my therapist, and most recently my best friend of almost 25 years. She was shocked I had managed to keep it a secret from her for 20 years. 😂

Hm... Let's see. I have... too many. lol I'm working on my @inu-spiration Halloween Reverse Bang piece, which is beating me up. It's over 18k words now and not as close to done as I would like... But I can't reveal details about that one yet. I CAN talk about the fact that I've been working on the next chapters of both How Does Your Garden Grow? and Your Lying Smile.

I'm also working on the next chapter of By Rights, but that won't go up until @inuparentsday in January. For funsies, here's a snippet of that! (Under the cut for spoilers)

Dinner was uncomfortable at best. Touga tried to simultaneously watch his "rival" and act as though he had no interest in him whatsoever. It was more challenging than one might think. Subtly was not really his forte and neither was small talk. He could make pleasantries when needed — and conversation with someone he wanted to speak with was fine — but pretending to be cordial with two men he would much prefer to punch in the face was pushing his limits. Izayoi’s father was making a point to inflate Takemaru’s ego – as if the man needed any more arrogance – and trying to make Izayoi see his many advantages as a husband. Were he not able to catch her scent, he would know from the look in her eyes alone that she was only more and more disgusted with the whole situation as the meal progressed. He too was becoming increasingly frustrated with the flagrant favoritism and ego-stroking. But he held his tongue and simply spoke to Izayoi when appropriate, or commented on “how impressive” the new lordling’s holdings were. “Izayoi, my dear,” Takemaru crooned in a saccharine tone. “The kitchen staff cannot wait to make this for you when you arrive.” He waved a hand and a highly anxious server sidled up next to her with a small platter with some kind of sweet on it. A pastry of some kind, it appeared, filled with something. He could smell it from where he sat, but couldn’t identify the ingredients. “Exotic chocolate from trading with the islands.” “It looks very nice,” she spoke politely to the server, “but I am so full from our delicious meal, I couldn’t possibly eat another bite.” Touga bit his lip to hold back a smirk. She’d hardly touched her food, sneaking what she could get away with to her father’s dogs under the table. He didn’t like that she wasn’t eating, but he understood her lack of appetite. Even he felt the lingering “wrongness” in the air and it was unsettling to him. He hadn’t anticipated that Izayoi would be able to sense it – her father certainly didn’t seem to – but she was noticeably antsy in a way he was not used to seeing in her. She definitely never acted that way in his presence.

9. Were there any alternate versions of this fic?

hahaha YES. the original was an ~18k oneshot. then i thought i'd extend it into two chapters and split the timeline in half (i'll throw a few pics below that make me lol now). and then i pushed the start from 1986 to 1987 because i realized i wanted more time to have passed since the events of S4 (or the ones i chose to include, i suppose).

oh, past vio. if only you knew that it would be at 80k and only halfway done.

it was the switch from '86 to '87 that kind of fucked everything up, because it moved the Party's graduation earlier in the story, and that's a pretty big turning point for steve and eddie. so i had to move THAT earlier, change a bunch of things about how that trip went (👀) and work from there. but there's some things i need to have happen while on a hawkins trip that i don't want to drop, so i wrote in a whooole other section for that in a later chapter. and honestly, i keep getting ideas from the comments (which i love) so i write those in, too.

but really, iylo has the most re-writes of any fic i've ever written. in the original oneshot, they were full-on fucking in hawkins. now that won't happen until chapter [redacted]. gilbert and terry didn't exist in the original, no eddie pov, nothing with steve's mom. alllll that has been added in drafts 3 and on.

11. What do you like best about this fic?

hehehe okay, let me like. not overthink this. i don't remember how far into it i was, but i thought: i have no idea if anyone will enjoy this. it felt like a fic that's indulgent in a very specific way. and i guess i feel more of a connection with the readers of this fic than with any other, and that keeps me writing even when i hate it.

a couple favourites in fewer words, though: ch 1 is my favourite chapter, steve is my favourite character, and wayne and eddie is my favourite secondary relationship to write.

I fell asleep but then woke up, saw your answers and fell back asleep 😅 I was going to respond but I couldn't keep my eyes open and I would have probably typed some gibberish.

So when you do that, does it ever creep your customers out when you guess their order correctly? Also, the thing about guessing the voices from animation or movies, that's amazing. I could never even guess or be close to who it is if I did guess.

I'm the same way with names and numbers. I try to guess the name and it's always far off 😅 then numbers always get jumbled.

Ah I see. What's the most words you have written in just an hour? Also, have you ever finished writing a fic then reread it after and scrap the whole thing?

I'm the same way with reading fics with a lot of kinks. I think I just read the fic, but then once I see something disturbing to me, I stop. I try to push myself to see if I can handle reading it, but then it actually weirds me out so I can't continue 😅

I think my answer is the same as yours. Especially the bdsm with pain, or if it has blood and other bodily functions..no no for me. And is pet play like beastiality? Sorry I don't think I know that.

I didnt sleep well last night. Stayed up until like past 2.am. i got a little panic attack becausr i overthought if i forget something or if i pack too much.

I never pay attention how much i write in an hour. Mostly 1 fic i wrote at least between 4-6K words but the most in one fic i think it's like 12K but i end up splitting them to few parts. If The Monsters Within a whole one fic it will be the longest i hv written because over 18K words n still counting. 😊

Yeah i have done that, but not scraping the wholr thing though, i scrapped almost half of it.. one time i wrote quite a lot, ideas flowed n stuff..i wrote it on google doc n it was on offline mode because i was on a flight. But when i finally connect it to internet, the part that wrote was not saved n gone.. i wanted to cry. I think it was the dark wanda fic "I Love You Too Much" i dont know if u have read that but yeah i had to write all over again.

Haha yeah im like that too. It was an age play fic, i tried to be open minded about it but i stopped in the middle because i couldnt read it.

Taehyung often used to worry you’d strangle Yeontan to death. It wouldn’t be the first time you’d throttled an animal to its demise.

He remembers it clear as day. A year into your friendship, Taehyung had wanted to make a good impression, take you out on a small lunch date; hoping you got the hint that he liked you a little, okay maybe a lot, more than just a friend.

Taehyung knew of your small habits; that’s why he’d tease you into sharing your most favourite sandwich with him to which you’d push at his forehead with a finger when his lips got too close to your lunch. You always got this small frown on your face when you didn’t want to share something you really liked. That’s why it surprised him when you willingly crouched down next to a stray dog loitering around the alleyways of the sandwich bar.

You’d offered part of your meal to the dog. The small thing, clearly alarmed, had bitten your hand. And instead of the normal human thing, like pulling your hand back as a reflex, maybe even crying a little. Taehyung watched you wrap your slender fingers around the mutt’s neck, squeezing until its eyes looked as though they were going to pop out of its head, and its body went limp. Then you smacked its head against the concrete, watching the deadweight of the body flop into a puddle of blood.

Taehyung doesn’t remember how he felt in that moment, any sane person would probably lose any affection they had for that person, watching them kill a somewhat innocent animal in cold blood. Taehyung just remembers taking you to the closest hospital, worried you’d contracted a disease from the stray. The last thing he wanted was for you to get sick.

And even after the events of that day, Taehyung remained friends with you. Convincing himself that maybe it was for the best that the dog died. It looked as though it was starving to death, and you’d kindly put it out of its misery.

Omg, that’s the sweetest thing ever, I passed along your kind words, and she sends you oodles of love back! I absolutely *do* have some great fic recs for you...it’s a slightly tricky request in that having, say, a story with Harry in panties doesn’t in and of itself mean he’s a genderfluid character in it, but I think I know what you’re getting at, and I’ve definitely got you covered. Some of my very fave fics fall into this category, actually, which means this is gonna be kind of long, so under the cut we go...fingers crossed you haven’t read them all yet!

“Hush.,” by @wankerville, 41k words (E). “I don't like you like that, Harry.” “See,” Harry starts, Louis can hear the smile in his voice, “that's where I think you're lying.” An American high school AU where small towns suck, louis is losing it, and harry’s just too perfect. (This is right up there in my top five all-time fave fics, it’s just luminous, goddd, required reading; the author also wrote the strawberry milk series, which is similarly achingly good, but it has some heavier, abuse-related themes that could be triggering)

“Grenadine Sunshine,” by objectlesson/@alienfuckeronmain, 18k words (E). He wants to taste the faint, sugary ghost of lip gloss, he wants to cup Harry’s face between his palms and swipe the shimmery wet shadows from beneath his eyes. He wants to show him everything he knows, even though he doesn’t know anything about this, about kissing boys or flirting with them or doing their makeup or even showing them it’s okay to want to wear makeup in the first place. (Phoenix wrote this story as an homage of sorts for Wankerville, and it’s a beautiful one of acceptance, love, and support)

“Chapter 4: Braids,” by objectlesson, 14.9k words (E). Timestamp for Grenadine Sunshine. (Part of a larger drabble collection, but a direct relation to the story above)

“Vinyl and Lace,” by objectlesson, 7.5k words, (E). Harry tries on a skirt in the X Factor dressing room as a joke. Louis doesn't think it's very funny. (While we’re hanging out with Phoenix, lol, an underrated beaut!)

“Are You Gonna Be My Girl?” by loadedgunn, 7.5k words (E). "You…" Harry touches his own mouth, teasing. "You ate her pussy?" "Yeah." Louis stops playing with Harry's cock and gropes his arse again, pulling his cheeks apart and pushing them back together over the thong. "Want me to eat yours?" Louis reenacts his first time, and Harry wants to be his good girl. (another one in my top five all-time faves, I’m always amazed at how “short” it is because JESUS, it’s so good, so complete, so beautifully characterized and written from beginning to end, LoadedGunn’s best work, come fight me)

“genderfluid!harry verse,” by istajmaal, 33.9k words (E). harry is a girl sometimes. louis loves her all the time. (This three-part series is old but GOLD, god, the characterization in this one...plus, this author is my hero for writing it in 2013, and I go back to it all the time)

“Nothing You Can Do (But You Can Learn How to Be You in Time),” by Teumessian, 28k words (E; needs ao3 account). Louis braids Harry’s hair. There are good times, bad times, fancy houses, supportive bandmates, secret boyfriends, small rebellions, bigger revolutions, some nail varnish, ribbons, cute clothing, and a Pinterest. (Awwww, the pinterest fic, one of my faves to rec, this author had me with the way they described Louis pushing up his glasses after a particularly difficult braid)

“She Feels So Good,” by Zedi, 4k words (E). That’s the voice that comes out when Harry’s in a skirt, nails done and gestures soft and flirty. That’s the voice Louis is a sucker for every time, even now when it’s coming from a prerecorded segment playing off a monitor. That’s Louis’ good girl. (A look at the Late Late Show appearance, and I love the way this authors switches pronouns when Harry switches gender)

“Warm Glow That Lingers On,” by Blake/@newleafover, 8.5k words (E). If Harry wants his nails painted red, he's got to earn it first. (It’s Blake, nuff said...god, I miss their writing in this fandom)

“it’s you i want to take apart,” by orphan_account, 6k words (E). He will readily admit that he likes to make Harry squirm sometimes, but this actually isn't about that—he just wants to help him get past whatever issue he has here. And, okay, he also really wants to see what Harry would look like with lipstick on, because he bets it would be really pretty. (Read the author’s notes about the inspo on this one...2012!!!! Wow!)

“weird honey,” by orphan_account, 5.4k words (E). They fuck, kind of a lot. It started out as just something to do, to wind down or pass time. Now they do it at least once a week, and Harry’s not sure if that means something. It’s not as if they only fuck each other, but-But there’s no one else Harry could imagine bringing this to. (PWP where Harry is not 100% at home in his body and he and Louis use a sex toy to help work through the problem.)
