One PM Thing a day: Planing ahead

So, before starting I need to clarify I will be using "Alti's City" as the hashtag after thinking a lot on it because my bigger thing when doing fanfic or writting headcanons for TTRPG is "this is my version of the City"

I'm happy to discuss, talk about themes and share the reasoning behind some groups and people that will appear here. But if someone looks at this as gospel, I can only invite them to take advantage of the incredible world that Project Moon has created!

Other important things to clarify for anyone interested is:

All my headcanons and fanfics in general are after the WNDD event and the ending of LoR, assuming 5 years after the ending of LoR [My headcanon is that Limbus take place 10 years after the end of LoR, based on some discussions around Walpurgis]

Some post will name other posts, one of things I like to do when writting is that everything is connected in some form. You will not find "Corporation on their island that doesn't interact with anyone"

I'm a very unoriginal person, inspirations from history, stories, games and even jokes will appear. But I consider myself talent in using the PM paint and in building upon the works of others. All of this is fanfic after all.

I'm not a visual artist, so, I don't have any drawings about what the hell I will be talking about.

I hope you enjoy this month of headcanons and simply my sharing the multiple factions I have planned, scrap or simply assume that exist for my PM inspired TTRPG sessions.

First post should appear in like... an hour, maybe two.

Across the Spiderverse rewrite

Said i would do this in a few hours.ALMOST THREE MONTHS AGO.I am sorry,i'm so gods fuckdamn stupid💔💔💔

So a bit of Itsv first:It's an almost perfect movie so not much changed but i'm a firm believer in trans girl Miles so the franchise is called 'Spidergirl:Spiderverse' instead and Gwen cracked her egg in Into,Gwen is black/white mixed latina(dominican),Miles reveals her new name as 'Mirasol' as her last spoken line in it and Peni is shoujo themed instead of the moefication bullshit

The reason for Gwen and Mirasol's cosmic connection in Across is their transfemininity and being eachother's first ever trans girl friend and Mirasol is the reason Gwen managed to finally befriend other black girls in The Mary Janes and they're like sisters.Mirasol's been transitioning for 1 year but no meds were needed as her spider bite gave her her ideal apperance within a few months as it does all Spiderpeople and is pretty much radioactive gender affarming surgeries and hrt

The first few Ghostflower scenes play out mostly the same minus the romantic undertones but Hobie and Margo literally swing in on their city scene because they saw Gwen was gone and got worried so they sneaked off too so they could find her.Mirasol and Gwen nearly fall but Hobie and Margo catch them and then the roof talking scene is Mirasol getting to know the other two-they're The Core Four of the Spiderband and Hobie's first line is also the first thing he says to Mirasol:"Ay,Tinkerbell,you run out of faith and trust?You need a lil pixie dust?"

When they all go back to the Morales residence for Jefferson's party,it's revealed Mirasol did a small fib of Gwen being a 'friend from the web' i.e an online friend who she met and helped her realize she's trans,Margo is passed off as a school friend pretty easily and Hobie dosen't get a label put on him but Jefferson and Rio both think he's a secret boyfriend Mirasol's been hiding and this is why Jefferson dosen't like him rather than because he's a cop(househusband Jefferson au ftw)and why Rio DOES like him because she's so glad her Mija has taste instead of liking altie white boys.So she teases them about it and Hobie dosen't react too much and Mirasol is mostly just embarrased but subtly.There's a short montage of them demonstrating their powers to eachother as they take down random villains after sneaking off again and Gwen and Hobie show off to impress Margo and Mirasol

Straight after this,Peni arrives to tell them about the 50101 sitch and she's shifted to shonen like her world has-It's canon event(Spidergeddon)literally changed the and her structure.She went from sunshine to emo as per canon but it's explored in detail instead of a one-off shot and completely offscreen character development and i'll expand in a bit.When they're on Gayatri and Pavitr's dimension,there's actually no Spiderman yet and we're given a red herring that it's Pavitr but the one who gets bitten is Gayatri to reinforce 'Gwen Stacy dosen't have to be a fridged woman' and 'canon events are bullshit'.65 Gwen has a lot of feelings on this but tries to not make them Gayatri's problem and Pavitr is Spiderladdoo(Spiderwoman!Gayatri)'s guy in the chair.She calls him that after the mission is complete and he says 'I'm her guy in the chair' in a dreamy voice and with a goofy down bad grin on his face like she just called him her boyfriend

We then get to Earth 22191,Margo's dimension that's VR based and has secret post-apocalyptic origins like Hobie's only she knows about and it's a hidden trauma she carries that's revealed to the Spiderband who comfort her,but not before they have lots of gamer fun,including food and dressup game shenanigans,them playing as Gwen is so distracted flirting with Margo that she scores 0 points while Margo scores 200 flirting back and an Animal Crossing knockoff bit where Miausol(Meows)is confirmed and Hobie makes a quip about loving girls who're like cats.14512 is next up and things take a darker turn in tone as they work hard to bring it back to it's former glory with drop ins of japanese-american culture for representation and end up getting the first step to it and Peni violently glitches between artstyles as a magical girl transformation and shonen power up fusion and so she's a literal perfect inbetween inside AND out

And finally:Earth 138,Hobie's more or less home.We get to meet the comics Spiderband and there's lots of fun interactions between all of them as they get an adventure interesting enough to fill a 30 minute cartoon episode,including the reveal Hobie's dad is a deadbeat who bailed as soon as his mom divorced him but kept coming back to cause problems and Hobie dosen't care about him at all because his mom raised so well he dosen't need him but also believes she's been dead since he was 12 and it's revealed she's actually alive and this shocks him to his core with Mirasol being the only able to snap him out of it and he frantically says they have to find her and she promises him to while kissing him so close to his mouth you can't tell it's a cheek kiss at first look and he leans into while shaking as she says,"Hey,hey,hey,it's okay,Peter Pan-We'll get you your Neverland back."Both of Hobie's bands watch these scene wanting to join in but Riri tells them not to,saying 'I think Hobie's wants only one girl.Bout time,never thought he'd find more than zero'

At last:They arrive at Spider Society.Peter B(ft.Mayday)and Jessica greet them at the entrance after the grand reveal scene and there's a comical mix between scolding and wholesome moments and there were also some cutbacks to the Spiderparents between the Spiderkids to see what they got going on normally nowadays and included in this is an explanation of canon events and other Spiderlore that happens at the same time as the Spiderband's as intergenerational juxtaposition.Miguel's anger and reasonings have big buildup and we get to see more of Jessica and Peter B both by themselves,with eachother and with him and the Spiderman 2099 and Spiderwoman casts also get animated debuts in flashbacks.It's made clear Miguel dosen't hate Mirasol,he's just scared of all Anomalies she's causing and his words to her aren't nearly as harsh thanks to this but the fight still happens and he DOES use the word 'Anomaly' to describe her because it's too important in-universe and in a meta sense to the story's point to remove

Gwen also dosen't make up with George as character development but still 'betrays(not really)' Mirasol with the rest of the Spiderband not knowing about it either and that causes tension between her and them,Hobie the most but they still agree to follow her to Earth 42 because they love Mirasol that much.And a description given is 'This movie is for the forgotten Spiderpeople.This movie is also a love story between Mirasol and Hobie and i think that really brings it full circle'

This image was released of a “sea monster” in Georgia on March 16, 2018, according to News4Jax. The carcass that was found by Jeff Warren and his son looks strangely akin to a lake monster that is seen in the very area that it was discovered - St. Simon’s Island. Altamaha-ha, or Altie, has often been sighted in the waters in the area and the carcass looks surprisingly like eyewitness accounts.

“Warren sent the photo to News4Jax and said the creature was about 4 to 5 feet long with two fins, though only one can be seen in the picture. The creature has little teeth about one-eighth of an inch long.” People commenting on the news station’s facebook page are guessing everything from a decomposing frilled shark to a lamprey fish to a baby Loch Ness Monster.

However, an anonymous New York City artist that goes by Zardulu the Mythmaker claimed to be the creator of the carcass in September of 2018. She said she made the beast out of paper mache and a taxidermy shark. She claimed to have wanted to “breathe some new life” into the legend of Altamaha-ha.

Hi. Could you provide the sources for your statement? I'd like to read them.

Yeah, I can do that.

Basically, the first known instance of the name Baphomet was in 1098, in a letter written by a French Crusader named Anselm of Ribemont detailing the siege of Antioch, Turkey (nowadays known as Antakya).

The relevant section (page 475 if the link doesn't work properly) reads "Sequenti die aurora apparente, altis vocibus Baphometh invocaverunt; et nos Deum nostrum in cordibus nostris deprecantes, impetum facientes in eos, de muris civitatis omnes expulimus." ("As the next day dawned, they [i.e. the inhabitants of Antioch] called loudly upon Baphometh; and we prayed silently in our hearts to God, then we attacked and forced all of them outside the city walls.")

Raymond of Aguilers, a man who chronicled the First Crusade, claims that troubadours (Medieval French lyrical poets) used the term "Bafomet" to refer to the Islamic prophet Muhammad (footnote of page 497 if the link doesn't work properly). This is corroborated by the early 12th-Century lyrical poem Senhors, per los nostres peccatz (Gentlemen, it is because of our sins) by the troubadour Gavaudan, which repeatedly localizes "Muhammad" as "Bafometz", the most obvious being the closing stanza:

"Profeta sera.n Gavaudas qu.el dig er faitz, e mortz als cas! e Dieus er honratz e servitz on Bafometz era grazitz." ("Gavaudan shall be a prophet for his words shall become a fact. Death to those dogs! God shall be honoured and worshipped where Muhammad is now served.") (It's worth noting that Medieval Christians thought Muslims were idolatrous, and worshipped Muhammad as a god, which is obviously not true.)

As for the latter claim, a lot of Templars were arrested under the rule of King Phillip IV of France, who suppressed the order via charges of heresy, spitting on crosses, idolatry, and sodomy, among other things (page 71 if the link doesn't work properly). Many Templars were tortured into confessing, claiming that they worshipped a deity named Baphomet, who they described as resembling either a three-faced head or a cat (note the lack of goats). Of course, these charges are of dubious validity, especially considering the forced confessions, but that's not important.

Fast forward to to the mid-1850s, and Éliphas Lévi publishes a two-volume occult treatise known as Dogme et Rituel de la Haute Magie(Dogma and Ritual of High Magic). The second volume's frontispiece (and even the cover of various republished versions) depicts an androgynous goat-headed entity that Lévi identifies as Baphomet (also known as the Sabbatic Goat). This depiction of Baphomet is clearly inspired by (or at least, uncannily resembles) The Devil, the fifteenth Major Arcana card found in tarot decks (which in turn is based on various depictions of Satan in Medieval artwork).

So yeah, to quote the meme, that word isn't in the Bible (though it is technically in the Quran).

“Here you are!” The woman had bright green eyes. Not the poppy-reddened wonders Rilienus had, but the same deep green. The same dark hair curling at her temples. Auna Maecilia held out her hands to him, gauzy yellow robes flowing behind her as she crossed deep red stones to him. “Come and let me look at you.” She took Dorian’s face in her hands and turned him to each side. “You’ll do. You’re going to overheat. Come and change and I’ll get you something to drink. How do you feel about chilis and lime?”

“I feel very well about them, thank you.” Dorian smiled, wondering whether Rilienus’ carriage had been delayed. The house they crossed towards was modest by the extravagant standards of the Alti, but the Maecilia orchards stretched out as far as the eyes could see. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, my lady. I’ve heard nothing but praise for you from your son.”

“Nothing at all? What dull conversations those must be.” She tucked his arm through her own. “A little bird told me that you were asking my husband permission for something.”

“Chatty little bird,” Dorian mumbled, accepting her arm gratefully. Warm and welcoming, where his own mother had never been anything but cold. Dorian was Aquinea Pavus’ duty, where Rilienus was Auna Maecilia’s joy. “Yes, I had hoped to speak with you both before he arrived. Do you happen to have an update on his schedule?”

“I do indeed. I have tasked him and Marius with a great many little errands. As many as I could think of, really. I wanted you to myself. I imagine they will do their best, although I’m not sure where they will find the yellow peacock feathers. We shall see.” She led him through an open arched door. “You’re about the size of my son, I think. We have a rule about not bringing the Senate into the orchards, so-“ Auna stopped by a door detailed with runes and carvings. “Why don’t you change into something less stifling of his while I make drinks and we’ll take a walk.”

Devious woman, he thought, even as he let himself into the room. Medals from Carastes hung on the walls beside wood and metal carvings and a variety of half-finished projects. A worn stuffed snake missing one eye was coiled beside the pillows on the bed. Books and scrolls arranged neatly on every shelf  and cluttering the desk by the window. A harp tucked into a corner. Rilienus’ childhood room. 

He touched the outstretched arm of a male figurine in the middle of an acrobatic leap, suspended over a trio of crystals. He found a basket full of fabric scraps and rolls of thread in the bottom of the wardrobe. He knew the sewing baskets well. They tended to appear anywhere Rilienus spent more than a few days. He thumbed the tawny velvet that looked like leather from some angles and learned that this had been where Rilienus had made his robes for their picnic in the sunflower field, though the man had studiously and vigorously complained about the riding portion of the journey and insisted on a coach for the ride back to the city. 

Dorian pulled a draped green chiton from the wardrobe and turned just as he heard footsteps returning down the hall. Auna held out a glass to him, damp with cool condensation. 

“…the snake?” he asked, taking it. 

“He insisted he wanted a cobra the year before he went to Carastes, so I taught him to make one himself.” Auna gazed affectionately at the messy stitching and worn cloth, patches meant to look like scales. “A fair warning to you. It seems as though Plini will be asking for a swan sometime soon. Perhaps he can make his own. Swans are beastly creatures. Now the little rabbit that Isobel is pining for? That, you might wish to consider. Rilly does abhor things out of place, but you’ll need to get used to that with children anyway. They do what they do. Come along.”

Children-

Dorian followed her down the hallway, breathing in the scent of ripe plums. 

Rilienus was a father. They both were. Images of the twins’ tiny feet flooded back to him. The orphaned twins Rilienus had rescued in Marothius, grown from wailing, undersized toddlers to healthy, chattering children. 

His children. His husband. His family. How had they been so tightly hidden from him?

“We had a flock of peacocks,” Dorian hurried to catch up with her, having stopped in his tracks. “Terrible things. I’d rather he ask for a reptile; I’ve never had any problems with serpents.”

“No? Remind me to tell you about Marius’ miniature crocodile and the way it ate Rilly’s favorite blanket when he was a babe. Poor thing wailed for three days. The crocodile was very gassy.” She tucked his arm through her own again as they stepped out into the baking sun, walking across moss towards the shade of the fruit trees. “I’m glad we are in agreement about the bird. You have my full support in denying my son and yours any sort of feathered menace. He tried to convince your father and I that geese were better guards than mabari. The wretch. When were you thinking of the ceremony?”

Dorian lifted his brows. “How long have you known?”

Auna smiled up at him beatifically. “Oh, darling, I’ve known my son was in love with you for years. Half his letters from Rivain were asking his father to check in on you. Gracious. And if he loved you like that, I really couldn’t imagine you were all that far behind.” She touched his cheek. “It is nice to finally have you both home.”

Home. Home among the flowering trees and winding vineyards. His husband and his children’s favorite place in the world. It was nice to be there, with them, speaking of things he’d always thought impossible to say aloud. “In the fall,” Dorian murmured, ducking his head. “Here. At sunset, when the leaves have changed shade to match.”

Auna cooed quietly, patting his shoulder. “You know my son very well. Of course. Whatever the two of you like. How- Oh, I suppose you’ll want to ask your question. Come on then so we can get on to the fun things. Marius and I are of the same mind anyway.”

“-now?” Dorian balked slightly.

“Mmhmm.” She was serene, her round cheeks lifted in an expectant smile. “We don’t have all day. Maecilia men are very good problem solvers.”

That he knew well enough. Dorian exhaled, collecting himself, trying to recall the words he’d practiced, but finding them insufficient. “I wished to ask for your blessing. I know ours is a highly unconventional union, but I’d like to make my promises to him under the Maker’s light. I believe we’ve both had quite enough lurking in the shadows.”

“And you will take the twins as your own.” Auna tilted her head making the statement a question.

“If they would have me, yes. They would be ours.”

“And more?” she wondered quietly. “Or will that be all?”

“They will be named as my heirs, should I be given my father’s seat and titles.”

“Hm.” Rilienus’ mother studied him, warmth in her eyes. “And you love my son?”

“More than I ever knew to hope for,” Dorian whispered. “For almost as long as I’ve known him.”

“Well.” She sighed with a little bob of her head. “Who knew I’d be having another son, and me a grandmother already!” She winked, pinching Dorian’s cheek gently. “Please marry the boy. He’s obscenely in love with you. Now. Let’s pick some cherries.”

Education City

Ci spostiamo poi nella municipalità di Al Rayyan (Qatar) che viene considerata ormai area metropolitana di Doha. Qui è stato creato l’Education City, un centro di eccellenza per la cultura che comprende campus di prestigiose università straniere, centri di ricerca, centri congressi, biblioteche ed ospedali all’avanguardia. L’obiettivo di questo progetto è la creazione di una nuova società araba basata sul potere della conoscenza in cui anche le donne abbiano la possibilità di studiare.

Parte del tour di quest’area è stata fatta in pullman e parte a piedi per permettere alcune visite interne.

Abbiamo fatto un veloce passaggio davanti al Sidra Medical and Research Center per osservare l’opera “The Miraculous Journey” formata da 14 sculture che raffigurano le varie fasi dell'evoluzione fetale dal concepimento alla nascita.

Poi una sosta fotografica per vedere il Ceremonial Court progettato da Arata Isozaki, il giardino Green Spine e sullo sfondo il cubico edificio dell’headquarter della Qatar Foundation.

La visita della National Library è stata invece completa. L’architetto Rem Koolhaas ha progettato questo edificio di 45.000 metri quadrati che sembra quasi un’astronave per ospitare una delle più grandi biblioteche del mondo (2 milioni di volumi).

L’edificio più iconico è la futuristica moschea dagli alti minareti inclinati (90 metri), la prima progettata all’interno di un campus universitario. La sala principale può contenere fino a 1.800 fedeli, mentre il cortile esterno ha una capienza di 1.000 persone.

Vi invito a fare una breve ricerca in internet per scoprire l’architettura (sia esterna sia interna) di altri edifici costruiti in quest’area.

Mini-Review of “Thrawn” (2017) by Timothy Zahn by a Legends Fan

I caved, and started reading Timothy Zahn's new Star Wars: Thrawn books, set in the post-Disney canon. It was a hard sell for me, since I'm a big Old Expanded Universe fan, and while I understood at the time why Disney wanted to do their own thing when they bought the franchise, the garbage sequel trilogy did *not* make it worth it, IMO. At least the Disney + series and Rogue One are a *lot* better. Anyway, Thrawn is my all-time favourite character from the old EU/"Legends", and while I was happy he, at least, made the transition to the new canon (still waiting on Mara Jade), Rebels did him dirty, IMO. That dumb cartoon took Thrawn, the tactical genius, renowned for being the "villain" (more of an anti-villain at best) who ran the rebels ragged, who stood out in a universe filled with silly space wizards by using his mind as his weapon, and tried to make a Scooby Do villain out of him, chasing around a bunch of teenagers. So even though they got Thrawn's original creator, Timothy Zahn, to write him again in the novels, I didn't have any high hopes. Even less so when it came out how Disney's been treating Alan Dean Foster in particular, and any other old EU author who's name isn't Timothy Zahn (i.e. denying them royalties while still publishing their books). hollywoodreporter.com/business…alties-disney-1234951422/ Anyway, I'm happy to say that Zahn's writing exceeded my expectations! Of course, I shouldn't have doubted the one author who actually tried to insert some real science fiction ideas into Star Wars, like the mobile mining platform, Nomad City, on a slowly rotating, Mercury-like planet in "Heir to the Empire". The new novel rewrites Thrawn's early years in the Empire, and his rise to Grand Admiral, all the while giving him a new, human friend, an imperial named Eli Vanto, who is officially Thrawn's aide and "translator" (not that he really needs it), but actually his protégé, even if it takes Eli himself a while to realize it.  Thrawn, as a character inspired by Sherlock Holmes, always needs a “Watson” to interpret him.  In the original Thrawn trilogy, that role was played by Captain Pellaeon (who would eventually rise to the rank of Grand Admiral himself in the old EU).  In this novel, that’s Eli’s role.  Eli is quite different from Pellaeon, in that he’s much younger, and not in a command position himself.  He also doesn’t seem to have a lot of Pellaeon’s foresight (like Pellaeon’s distrust of the Noghri and Joruus C’baoth).  It’s still interesting to see the interaction between him and Thrawn.  I do wish the book had gone into a bit more detail about Eli’s own special interest -- mathematics.  I don’t get the impression as-is that his interest is anywhere near Thrawn’s level with art.  

Another difference from the old EU, however, is that we do get to see Thrawn’s point of view directly, however.  Again, he seems very Holmes-esque, with Thrawn opening every chapter with an excerpt from him POV, which, we later learn, are parts from his journals.  He also often mentally describes the body language and apparent feelings of the other characters.  As an Autistic person with body language “blindness”, I interpret this as Thrawn having actively taught himself to consciously read others’ body language -- this isn’t something that comes naturally to him, unlike an Neurotypical character.  It’s interesting, and is textual evidence to support reading him as an autistic character, which fits well with his already-suggested neurotype in Legends.  

The B plot involves a lot of Imperial politics, and one woman, Arihnda Pryce’s, quest for revenge on the Senator and Moff who screwed her family over. Hers and Thrawn's paths intersect every so often.   I’m not a big fan of other characters constantly thinking Thrawn just sucks at politics.  It seems more an attempt at “Gary Stu” busting than anything else.  Thrawn, while amazing, was never flawless in the old EU (his oversights regarding C’baoth and the Noghri being the most obvious reasons why), so the whole “he’s clueless at politics” angle seems unnecessary, IMO.  I prefer to interpret this plot point as being that Thrawn simply doesn’t care about politics, and others interpret his attitude as not knowing.  It wouldn’t be the first time someone underestimated him.  

The thing I'm loving most, though, is that Zahn doesn't have to even bother with the movie characters! Luke, Leia, Han? Who's that? Who cares! The only movie characters who have even made an appearance are Palpatine and Grand Moff Tarkin, and then, they were little more than "guest stars" for a single chapter each.  Palpatine in particular seems to have far less of a role in Thrawn’s career than in the old EU, and their working relationship isn’t as strong.  It’s unfortunate, but I don’t think the Empire of the Hand is ever getting off the ground in this universe -- that was a demonstration of Palpatine’s trust in Thrawn, and eventually it became something far more in the old EU, even with other authors besides Zahn not quite knowing what to do with it, and by the New Jedi Order series, pretty much ignoring its existence.  The point here is that Disney’s version of Palpatine would never trust Thrawn to set up his own shadow Empire.  Probably because the Yuuzhan Vong invasion isn’t a thing in this version -- another unfortunate change.  They would have made much more interesting villains in the sequel trilogy than the craptacular Empire wannabe First Order and Emo Ren.     

Thrawn himself is the same genius I remember. In one instance, rebels are holed up on an island on some backwater planet, with tough planetary shields Thrawn's Star Destroyer's turbolasers can't get through. The rebels, however, did not shield the surrounding ocean, so Thrawn targets a few spots on the surrounding ocean floor, and lets the tsunamis his turbolasers create take care of the rebels for him. It's just as brilliant a tactic as anything from the original Thrawn trilogy.  However, we also get far more of a sense of just what a great leader Thrawn is, and much more of a sense of how important everyone under his command is to him, which was a lot more subtle in the original Thrrawn trilogy, only really becoming obvious in the Hand of Thrawn duology.  Ultimately, his character is really what’s most important.  That’s what made him stand out in the old EU in the first place, after all.    

Like "The Mandalorian", and "Rogue One" “Star Wars: Thrawn” proves there's so much more to that Galaxy Far Far Away than just the Skywalker Soap Opera. It's a much needed reminder, especially since those types of stories tend to be the better ones in Star Wars.

Alex's Office (Fixer Office)

Office's Grade: Grade 7 Operator: Alex Members: 5 Fixers Located: District 24

A newborn office, they have climb the grade system quickly for only a year of working.

The office was created by Alex, a young X Corp feather that has the privilige of a father with enough influence to finance his adventure on Fixer work.

Trained by the best training offices on the Nest, the young fixer prove himself worthy to the Hana, quickly climbing to Grade 8, 7 and 6.

Alex's Office is then created as a simply "safe" entertaiment for Alex, that wanted to give some adventure to his sister Alexandra. Having a safety net on the money from their father that has buy multiple back up bodies if they screw up in some moment.

In this very informal tone, Office only hires people with "Alex" on their name as their "theme", Alex at the Head with Alexandra as his co-operator. With the three other being Alexander, Alexios, Alexis. While this started as a joke, it also has become the opportunity for very young and inexperienced Fixers -Alexis in specific- to find an office willing to hire them for good pay.

The Office only deals with small jobs that in the best of cases are categorized as Urban Myth by the Hana Association, most of them uncategorized on the abstract level of Canard. Each member being free to specialize on their own equipment and mostly do as they please on their missions.

Due to this, they haven't use their back up bodies, at all. The training of Alex making sure he can keep protecting and having fun with their friends. But not all of them are on this as a game, while Alexis -the youngest of the group- is happy and feeling comfortable with Alex, Alexios wants more challenges and looks for dangerous cases to solve, while Alexander -the oldest of the group- seems to be tired and even frustrated to how the group look at Fixer work like tourists.

Alexandra, in the other hand, appreciates the effort of her brother, but isn't happy with this life. Only keeping at it because her brother excitment.

Notes: Most people that voted for anything that isn't everything wanted to see Fixer Offices. And so, I wanted to at least start with it.

I don't have any idea if this is enough. One part of me wanted to go deeper on more technical stuff like tactics and equipment. When designed for TTRPG, these guys were the most anti-synergistic possible, Alex doesn't demand any theme except having "Alex" in the name, and due to the low risk they tend to move, every one of them has take a different approach to fighting.

But I find that could become too long/cumbersome?

In any case, this Office was created mostly as a joke. The idea that every member of the Office is called "Alex" and that no matter if players kill them, they will reappear because they almost unlimited access to back up bodies.

But it also has the fundations for become more serious or intriguing as more times they appear. Players will be probably the first to kill them, experiencing dead isn't cute even more for sheltered and fortunate feathers. Alexis isn't ready to die even if he can come back, and Alex is very caring, so if he empathize with the suffering of his coworkers, man is quick to take the path of vengeance.

Cieli Alti, “Where Heaven Meets the Land”

(lower) - Towards the southeast of Alto-Mare lies another of its sister cities, the once-thriving Cieli Alti. Established as a port for the trade between regions south, Cieli prominently features evidence of an indistinguishable culture. Early settlers revered the flying-type, seemingly worshipping the bird trio of Kanto to varying degrees. Once filled with a bustling marketplace and a plethora of trade centers, the city became a popular destination for the trainers that’d pepper the region to compete in Alto’s minor League.

Now, the city lie in ruin, with the hills and forests surrounding it becoming home to the island’s native ground-types—flying-types nevertheless reigning supreme.

(upper) - Only traversable through a cave-like system in the hills north of lower Cieli Alti, the upper echelon seems to have been more residential in comparison to the financial district below. Small churches of various creeds intersect streets once teeming with villagers, now abandoned and occupied by an abundance of different species of flora and fauna. 

The resident gym, once specializing in the flying-type, occupied the center boulevard of Upper Cieli; the flooring that remains resembles a chessboard, hinting to what perhaps may have served as part of the gym’s puzzle.

Cosa dire per rappresentarlo meglio?

Shanghai è famosa per il suo incredibile mix di architettura coloniale e grattacieli ultramoderni, la vivace scena culinaria, i mercati tradizionali e i lussuosi centri commerciali. È una città che rappresenta il motore economico e culturale della Cina moderna, con un piede nella storia e l’altro nel futuro.

Shanghai, essendo una delle città più cosmopolite della Cina, ha un costo della vita relativamente elevato rispetto ad altre parti del paese. Tuttavia, è possibile vivere e viaggiare in città adattandosi a budget vari, grazie alla disponibilità di tante diverse opzioni di alloggio, ristorazione e trasporto. 1 Bund

Il Bund è il lungofiume che affaccia sul corso d'acqua Huangpu, lungo il quale convivono palazzi d'epoca con nuovi, ipertecnologici grattacieli.

Lungo quello che impropriamente possiamo chiamare "corso", troviamo alcune delle attrazioni principali della zona: un gruppo di sculture denominate Luce del fiume Huangpu, Vela e Vento; Piazza Chenyi, nella quale si erge l'omonima statua, omaggio al primo Sindaco di Shanghai; il tunnel panoramico, il primo tunnel subacqueo pedonale dell'intera Cina. Si tratta, inoltre, di uno dei must per ammirare e fotografare il famosissimo skyline sul fiume di Shanghai.

2 Oriental pearl tower

Alta 468 metri, l'Oriental Pearl Tower è tra gli edifici più alti al mondo.

La torre presenta un design singolare, è composta da 11 sfere di varie dimensioni collegate tra loro da colonne. All'interno delle sfere sono ricavati vari ambienti, fra cui una città futuristica e una sala visite, un albergo, un ristorante panoramico girevole, un piano bar e vari karaoke.

Alla base dell'edifico si trova il Museo Civico di Storia di Shanghai, mentre ai piani alti, troviamo 3 piattaforme di osservazione.

3 Shangai Ocean Aquarium

Un viaggio nelle profondità marine della Terra, con oltre trecento specie marine e oltre 12.000 pesci rari e specie in via di estinzione provenienti da tutti i Continenti. Un'esperienza impareggiabile per grandi e piccini, godibile grazie alla bellezza di 180 metri di gallerie in puro cristallo.

La struttura dello Shanghai Ocean Aquarium è sviluppata su 20.500 metri quadrati ed è composta da 2 edifici a forma di piramide. Uno è l'edificio principale e un altro è una dependance. L'edificio principale è su 3 piani e un seminterrato.

4 Shangai world finance center

Il nuovo distretto finanziario di Shanghai sviluppato su una penisola formata da un'ansa del fiume. Attualmente il quartiere ospita oltre 30 edifici ed oltre 504 tra società finanziarie e assicurative nazionali ed estere. Da qualche anno questo quartiere è diventato anche una meta turistica, grazie alla presenza di hotel a cinque stelle.

Tra gli edifici più noti segnaliamo lo Shanghai World Financial Center, il grattacielo più alto della città, un edificio con più funzioni, che ospita anche piattaforme di osservazione e centri commerciali, dotato di ben 31 ascensori e 33 scale mobili. Al 79° piano ospita il lussuoso Park Hyatt Shanghai, il secondo hotel più alto del mondo. Ed ancora lo Shanghai IFC, un complesso edilizio costituito da due torri, la torre nord e la torre sud, rispettivamente completate nel 2009 e nel 2010. La torre sud ospita il Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

5 Shangai Tower

La Shanghai Tower, collocata sempre nel quartiere finanziario della città, è la torre più alta di tutto il continente asiatico, ma è anche una delle torri più alte al mondo, seconda solo al Burj Khalifa di Dubai! Questo grattacielo svetta sopra tutti gli altri edifici del quartiere grazie alla sua altezza di 632 m, con ben 128 piani, per una superficie totale di 380.000 mq.

Un edificio dei primati: al suo interno si trovano, infatti, gli ascensori più veloci al mondo e la piattaforma d'osservazione più alta al mondo, situata ad un'altezza di 562 m. Da qui si gode davvero della vista più bella su tutta la città! All'interno è divisa in 9 zone pubbliche, che comprendono atrio, giardini, bar, ristoranti e diverse piattaforme con una spettacolare vista su Shanghai. Centri commerciali ed eventi sono invece situati alla base della torre.

6 City God temple

Uno dei più importanti templi taoisti della città, che vanta una storia lunga 600 anni! Sviluppato su una superficie di ben 2.390 mq, è costituito da 9 palazzi: Palazzo Huo Guang, Palazzo del ciclo di sessant'anni, Palazzo del Dio della fortuna, Palazzo Cihang, Palazzo del Dio della città, Palazzo dell'imperatrice, Palazzo dei genitori, Palazzo Guansheng e il Palazzo Wenchang.

Il City God Temple è dedicato a tre importanti personalità/divinità della città: Huo Guang, ricordato per aver deposto un giovane imperatore; Qin Yubo, che si rifiutò di assecondare una corte corrotta; e Chen Huacheng, generale che difese la città fino alla morte durante la Prima Guerra dell'Oppio.

Gli abitanti di Shanghai frequentano il tempio per offrire l'incenso alla loro divinità preferita, sperando di ottenere fortuna. Oltre a pregare, è inoltre possibile assistere ad alcune esibizioni popolari, prendere parte a calligrafie speciali e altre esibizioni acrobatiche.

7 Giardino del mandarino Yu

Il "Giardino della Felicità", eretto circa 400 anni orsono dalla leggendaria dinastia Ming, è oggi uno dei fiori all'occhiello del turismo di Shanghai. Caratteristico giardino sviluppato su oltre 40 ettari, caratterizzato da boschetti di bambù, laghetti con trote koi e padiglioni della dinastia Ming.

Durante la passeggiata incontrerete padiglioni dai nomi piuttosto poetici. Tra tutti, il più grande è La sala delle Tre Spighe di Grano, che contiene intricate incisioni che rappresentano un generoso raccolto. Nel padiglione dei Diecimila Fiori è invece possibile ammirare una felce gigante piantata lì ben 400 anni fa! Una delle attrazioni più amate dei giardini è, infine, la Squisita Pietra di Giada. L'ultima sezione cui si accede è il Giardino interno dove si trovano la Sala della Serenità e la Torre per l'Osservazione delle Onde, dove sono spesso esposte le opere dei calligrafi locali.

Cosa mangiare di tradizionale?

Xiaolongbao Si tratta di piccole preparazioni al vapore racchiuse in un involucro di pasta, che sono un must di Shanghai. In Italia li conosciamo come “ravioli al vapore”.

Anatra laccata di Shanghai È una versione locale dell’anatra alla pechinese, con una marcia in più data dalle spezie e dalla tecnica di cottura specifica della regione.

Shengjianbao Panini al maiale con spezie e verdure, fritti o al vapore, croccanti fuori e succosi dentro.

Zha Xie Letteralmente “granchio peloso” (anche se peloso non è). Si tratta di un granchio d’acqua dolce cucinato al vapore dentro gabbie di bambù o bollito e servito con una salsa delicata a base di aceto o zenzero.

Baozi Dovete provare lo street food, assaggiando assolutamente i Baozi. Si tratta di piccoli panini di pasta lievitata ripieni e cotti al vapore.
