This year marks the 50th anniversary since McDonnell Douglas rolled out its iconic first generation of the F-15 eagle. The F-15 was created out of a need to counter the significant threat posed by the USSR’s own extremely capable air superiority fighter, the MiG-25 Foxbat, which could travel at speeds of just over Mach 3.

Since her rollout, the F-15 and her descendants have proved themselves extremely worthy of the title of air superiority fighter, retaining a kill to death ratio of over 104 kills and 0 losses in air to air combat, seeing service in Iraq and Afghanistan, along with the Japanese and Saudi air forces.

The newest generation of Eagle, the Boeing F-15EX, made is debut flight this year and is due to enter service with the United States Air Force in the near future, replacing the older “C” model of the F-15.

NAŠA ‘KRILA OLUJE’ IZBEZUMILA AUSTRIJANCE! 270 000 ljudi zapljeskalo njihovim vratolomijama

Akrobatska grupa Hrvatskog ratnog zrakoplovstva (HRZ) “Krila Oluje” iz sastava 93. krila i avion MiG-21 iz 191. eskadrile lovačkih aviona sudjelovali su na međunarodnom zrakoplovnom mitingu “Airpower 2022” koji je održan u Zrakoplovnoj bazi Zeltweg u Austriji 2. i 3. rujna 2022. godine.

Prvi nastup MIG-a

Nastup aviona MiG-21 tijekom kojeg je prezentiran letački program u trajanju od šest minuta mogao se pogledati oba dana manifestacije. Naime, ovo je prvi ovakav nastup aviona MiG-21 iz 191. eskadrile lovačkih aviona na zrakoplovnoj manifestaciji Airpower 22, ali i prvi nastup na međunarodnom aeromitingu u inozemstvu. Zapovjednik 191. eskadrile lovačkih aviona pukovnik Zvonimir Milatović rekao je: “Izrazito sam ponosan, kao i čitava eskadrila, što smo nastupili na zrakoplovnoj manifestaciji Airpower22. Ovo je bio veliki profesionalni izazov i smatram da smo ga u potpunosti savladali, a prema riječima samog organizatora, ostavili smo najbolji mogući dojam”, rekao je istaknuvši da je sam nastup bio zahtjevan isto kao i organizacija letova, ali da je uz predan rad i iskustvo koje eskadrila posjeduje i ova zadaća uspješno provedena.

Oduševili 270 000 posjetitelja

“Iznimna je prilika za nastup na ovakvoj manifestaciji i jedan je od najljepših trenutaka u mojoj karijeri pilota. Uz to, uspostavili smo i iznimno dobre odnose s kolegama iz austrijskog ratnog zrakoplovstva. Mislim da je ovo do sada najveća zrakoplovna manifestacija na kojoj je sudjelovao avion MiG-21 s oznakama Hrvatskog ratnog zrakoplovstva”, istaknuo je pukovnik Milatović, pilot aviona MiG-21 koji je nastupao u Zeltwegu, pohvalivši ujedno sve djelatnike 191. ELA koji su svojim radom pridonijeli uspješnoj realizaciji aktivnosti te zahvalivši kolegama iz 392. eskadrile aviona, kao i kolegama iz HKZP-a, koji su svojim iskustvom i savjetima pomogli pri organizaciji. Vođa grupe “Krila Oluje” bojnik Darko Belančić kazao je kako su zadovoljni nastupom na jednom od najvećih aero-mitinga u ovom dijelu Europe koji okupi više od 270 000 posjetitelja. “Generalna proba je odrađena drugi dan nakon dolaska s punim programom, jer su vremenski uvjeti bili odlični. “Krila Oluje” odradila su puni program u oba nastupa. Kritike su bile izrazito pozitivne i od posjetitelja i od pilota drugih akrobatskih grupa. Na završnoj ceremoniji svakoj grupi je dodijeljen dar zahvale uz čestitke i zahvale organizatora”, iznio je bojnik Belančić.

Peti nastup na Airpoweru

Zajedno s “Krilima Oluje” u Zeltwegu je i ovoga puta bio tim zrakoplovnih tehničara, koji su bili potpora i izvrsno odradili svoj dio posla. “Krila Oluje” do sada su zabilježila 226 nastupa, od kojih 166 u Republici Hrvatskoj i 60 u inozemstvu. Svoj program prezentirali su na najprestižnijim zrakoplovnim manifestacijama u 15 europskih država (Rumunjska, Slovenija, Mađarska, Njemačka, Austrija, Češka, Slovačka, Belgija, Italija, Turska, Poljska, Danska, Švicarska, Ujedinjena Kraljevina Velika Britanija i Francuska).
