Another moose (C17) I caught with a tagline at the nose - “Go for Broke”. A great motivational tagline to adopt for the new year. 👍👍💪💪 This C17 from the Hawaii Air National Guard is one of a number of C17s with commemorative nose taglines. “Go for broke” was the motto for the 442nd Regimental Combat Team in WW2 which was composed of almost entirely 2nd generation American soldiers of Japanese ancestry. Most of these Japanese-American soldiers were from Hawaii. They served with distinction in WW2 becoming the most decorated combat unit in US military history. Considering the discrimination their family members faced being interned in concentration camps in the US during that time, these soldiers went all out to prove their loyalty, bravery and fighting qualities. No kidding, I see 2 C2s. 😅😬😆 Caught these two C-2A(R) Greyhounds from VRC-30 Detachment 5 flying in on a hazy evening. The Greyhounds are on their last legs of service life. They have been fulfilling Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) missions since the late 1980s and are expected to be retired from service by 2024. They are in the midst of being replaced by the tiltrotor CMV-22B Osprey multi mission aircraft.
