When you spend hours of your day, working on a piece that you really want to make, and you're actually decently happy with the result, but end up overwriting the original document with a rough sketch of another WIP...

This shot was a picture I made for Sonic X Shadow Generations: One Step Forward, and Falling Back.

I was pretty happy with how it turned out, since it's one of the few pictures I've done with real improvement since my first time really drawing Sonic or Shadow, which was... over a year--to two years ago? Don't remember how long it's been, but anyway, I was happy with this.

Then, opening Photoshop to sketch some more, I noticed the document for it, wasn't listed in my 'Recents,' and was confused, until I saw the title for it, was listed, but with a different WIP sketch, instead. So, I ended up overwriting the previous save of the document of this finished shot of Shadow and Maria, without knowing it. So that document doesn't exist anymore, and I'm so mad about it!

It literally drained whatever motivation I had to draw... Like- COME ON!!! All that work!

it turns out when it calls KiRemoveAllBreakpoints() you should let it remove all breakpoints

Chased down a phantom heap corruption error because the debugger’s default heap size was bigger than the regular compiler’s and the overwrite therefore didn’t happen if I tried to debug it

Thrown an error in gcc, i.e. the compiler, at 3 AM, which was my sign to stop for the night.

Tried to install a CPU temperature monitoring widget on a Linux box and had it commit suicide by package manager

I hit “ok” without reading the full list of what it was trying to install and it tried to update the entire window manager but then stopped and tried to undo the whole thing and uninstalled so much stuff it deleted the wifi drivers and could no longer connect to the internet to try to reinstall anything to fix itself

Presented serious evidence that different Windows service packs appeared to be linking against the future i.e. each loading the library list of the next service pack

turns out it was dynamic load calls becoming statics in the next update but listen that was a weird couple of hours

for many reasons i prefer writing offline - situations where cloud-based sharing is preferable notwithstanding - but istfg this little secret "oops we switched you to overwrite mode sorrrryyyy!" thing in libreoffice drives me nuts.

mmm this software likes writing temp files everywhere and then refuses to overwrite them. and i cant access the folder theyre in.

The Dolores Completer Project - a DeeDee X Esotheria collab

Deedee kindly agreed to convert her Dolores gown to TF as per my wish, and I took it upon myself to make more recolors. Then I figured, why not add those new recolors to the AF mesh as well? And then I made even more TF recolors by transferring all of @pituliya's recolors to the TF mesh, and then went back to edit Pituliya's original AF recolors to smooth out some pixelation, and then made Smooth Hands edits for both AF & TF meshes and… yeah, this project snowballed. So, what is it that you get in this upload?

12 new recolors of Deedee-sims' Dolores gown for AF

A brand new TF conversion with Deedee's 2 original colors + the aforementioned 12 recolors + Pituliya's 25 recolors transferred onto the TF mesh (39 new recolors total)

Edits of Pituliya's AF recolors that reduce pixelation, add tooltips, and enable them for YA/AF/EF, Everyday + Formal

Optional Smooth Hands meshes for both AF & TF

All files are properly named, tooltipped, compressorized. All AF recolors are enabled for YA & EF as well. Sorted as Everyday and Formal. The lighter gowns are paired with white heels, and the darker gowns are paired with black heels (not that they're particularly visible under the long skirt!) Fat & preg morphs for AF, fat morph for TF.

one thing i'm fascinated with is how after betty made her wish and reset the crown, gunter/orgalorg seemed to physically FUSE with the crown, making it so it can never be taken off or used by anyone else (simon) in ooo ever again

farmworld finn was cured of his crown curse by prismo (in the funniest fucking way to address an animation error ever) removing the crown and placing it back on corpse simon's head before the bomb detonated again, removing it from the playing-field of the farmworld reality im assuming

my guess is that in every universe they venture to they're going to find one reason or another why simon can't access the crown again, all as an extension of betty's wish

... and going back to the subject of her wish

rewatching 'come along with me' got me thinking again. the line from betty's failed wishes to "banish golb from ooo" or for him to "disappear", that golb is "too powerful, even for the crown", it makes me think her assessment of the situation wasn't completely accurate. we know that wish magic is super powerful, but in the crown's case it needed to resonate with the deepest desire of the wearer - which in betty's case was having "the power" to keep simon safe

prior to her wish, she referred to golb's magic as "the most powerful force in the universe", which she was trying to use for the purpose of saving him. i'm wondering if maybe the pre-requisite for making a wish to banish golb/have control over him—the "most powerful force in the universe"—would be having to re-write reality itself to give someone else a level of power above even golb. with that in mind, this now kind of looks like a being above golb taking over his mind and possessing him instead of a straightforward fusion of the two

one thing keeping me rolling with this theory is that in the flash of golb before accidentally portal-ing cake, we see pre-wish golb's eyes flash, not the eyes of golb as we last saw them, and we do see them in prismo's time room.

my conspiracy theory that im definitely wrong about is that i dont think she actually fused with golb, i think she's actually something beyond comprehension now: a force in the universe that can control even the most powerful beings like golb, hold dominion over the multiverse, she can overwrite them and force them to obey her one and only command: get your fucking hands off my cringefail malewife this instant
