Saundreas + meeting the parent(s)
Andreas looked round at Saul the moment he heard him whimper, thinking for a moment that Saul had been hurt. The sound had been like that of a wounded animal. But Saul was unharmed although pale and staring at the door which had just opened. A middle aged man still a few years older than them stepped through. He had hair as dark as Saul's and the lines of his face were similar too.
"Dad," Saul whispered, not loud enough for the man to hear. He took a step forward and his legs gave out. He'd have ended up on the floor if Andreas hadn't darted forward and caught him.
"I've got you," Andreas whispered. "You should say hello and introduce yourself. He'll be too confused to work it out on his own." Andreas remembered how confusing it had been for him and he'd not been dead long before he'd been resurrected by whatever Sebastian had done.
Sebastian was now sat in a Solarian prison under the watch of some of the most unpleasant fairies Andreas had ever met. Rosalind herself had briefed them and now Sebastian spent his days bound and gagged in large portions so he couldn't harm the otherworld futher.
Andreas supposed they should have expected Saul's father to return at some point after it'd become clear that the rising of Aster Dell wasn't going to be the last of the resurrections as they'd previously thought. Yet seeing the man in now, it was clear Saul hadn't braced for this eventuality.
"Come with me. I want to introduce him to make husband. I never thought...its the one thing I've wanted to do and never could. Please?" Saul looked at Andreas with soft tears already starting to fall. "I want my dad to meet you. I want...I've always wanted his blessing."
"I'll come." Andreas slipped his arm around Saul's waist and let him lean on him as they walked over.
"Where are Sky and Beatrix? They should meet their grandfather." Saul looked around in search of their children.
"Let's not crowd him. He's going to have enough of a shock to find you're not 10 anymore," Andreas said as they came close to Saul's father. It quickly became obvious to him that Saul wasn't going to be able to find his words and so Andreas stepped up. "Sir, are you Isaac Silva?"
"Yes? How do you know who I am?" Isaac stared at Andreas, clearly trying to place his face.
"Dad?" Saul gasped out as if in pain, his face crumpling into a sob and leaning heavily on Andreas just to stay upright.
"You've been dead for over 30 years, and this is your son, Saul." Andreas gave Saul a little nudge and Saul tumbled into his father's arms.
"Saul? Is that really you?" Isaac touched Saul's face, tears filling his own eyes as he gazed at the man his 10 year old had become. "You were so small..."
Saul clung to him and sobbed into his shoulder, clearly long since past the point of speaking.
"Have you been taking good care of my boy while I was gone?" Isaac asked.
"I'd like to think so, Sir. Myself and a few others." Andreas realised he'd slipped into parade rest while they'd been talking.
"Dad," Saul wiped his face, his voice still thick with tears. "This is Andreas. My husband."
"Husband huh? Well, perhaps you'll let me steal my son back until this evening. I would dearly like to get to know him," Isaac addressed Andreas but he didn't have eyes for anyone but Saul.
"Of course. He's all yours." Andreas gave Saul's hand a squeeze and left them to find a quiet room together. If parents were coming back too then Andreas would have to make sure that his own never found him.

The Ruins of Memory Update
Hi hello!!! This is my first time properly sharing an update on a WIP I properly introduced on here! Is this how writeblr things work? Yes. I am assuming so.
Anyway, The Ruins of Memory has officially entered its first draft phase!! I’m really excited for this! I’ve been thinking about this story for a long time and now I am finally sharing bits of it with the world.... fuck yeah.
Alright, so I’m still in the very early stages of drafting, but I wanted to share an excerpt so y’all can get a little glimpse into this!
This first scene is from the first ‘arc’ or so of the story, and I’m not sure if it’ll stay in the final version but I had the urge to write about Zinnia and Aster being cute so that is what I wrote.
No content warnings for this excerpt, but it is a little long so I will put it under the cut :3
Taglist (if you want to be added or removed please let me know!): @albatris @thepotatowriter
Aster hardly notices as the music changes tempo, as enraptured by the parchment in her hands as she is. Though she can’t quite decipher why, the words on the page seem familiar to her, in a way that has her shuddering slightly despite the warmth in the air and the cloak wrapped around her thin shoulders.
“Are you alright?” the merchant asks. Aster barely hears him, her wide, violet eyes locked on the page. The only thing that startles her out of the spell she has fallen under is a gentle tap to her shoulder, followed by an even softer voice, barely audible over the music and laughter throughout the square.
Aster looks up from the parchment in her hands to see Zinnia standing behind her, slightly bowed and extending a hand to her. She has a shy smile on her face, and even through her thick fur Aster can tell her face is warm. The pose reminds Aster of the couple she had seen dancing together earlier, the golden-haired Veridian with his fiery-haired partner.
“May I have this dance?” Zinnia asks, her voice uncharacteristically soft and uncertain. A flush crosses Aster’s face, darkening her cool grey skin, as she realizes her friend’s intentions.
“I doubt I’m much of a dancer,” she confesses, embarrassed. Zinnia chuckles, though the sound is not mocking.
“I’m not much of a dancer myself,” Zinnia tells her, “but I think it’d be nice to dance with you. We’re surrounded by joy and life, and it’d be a shame for us not to participate.”
“I suppose.” Aster is still hesitant as she looks back towards her friend, and she knows it must be obvious, as Zinnia’s face softens further.
“I won’t make you do anything you don’t want to,” Zinnia says, “but I would be honored to share a dance with you. Besides, if we dance poorly together, then neither of us has room to be embarrassed by the other.” She winks, then, a playful gesture that has Aster chuckling.
“I suppose I can’t argue with that,” Aster says, a smile tugging at the edges of her lips. She makes to hand the parchment back to the merchant, but he holds up a hand to stop her.
“Take it,” he tells her. “Free of charge! In the spirit of the Flower Festival. Now, go and dance! I can tell your friend here has been waiting for this.” He winks at her, and Aster’s flush darkens as she nods.
“Thank you, sir!” she says, quickly stuffing the parchment into the pocket of her dress. Taking a deep breath to steady her nerves, she turns back to Zinnia and grins, placing a long-fingered hand in her open palm.
“Well, why don’t we show them how it’s done?” she teases, and Zinnia barks out a laugh as she takes Aster’s hand, leading her into the crowd of dancers.
The music is louder the closer they get to the band, as Aster expected, but she hardly minds as Zinnia pulls her into a poorly-practiced waltz. Zinnia rests one hand on the small of Aster’s back and holds one of Aster’s hands with the other.
As they take their uncertain first steps to the beat of the music, the world seems to fall away, and Aster no longer minds the ruckus of the crowd.

Luck is what we make it, not what is thurst upon us
Summary: There is no such thing as a bad luck, and Albedo was sure of it. To bad that Bennett didn't get the memo.
Author's note: Hello, I am very sleep deprived and maybe I am projecting on Albedo BECAUSE SOMEONE NEEDS TO HUG BENNETT
READ ON AO3
“Wait, are you serious about this?” Timaeus’ voice ranged through the room, making Sucrose jump. Albedo sighed.
“Dial your voice down, please” he said. “And I don’t see why I shouldn’t be serious about this. It’s a simple commission, and all three of us are too busy to gather those flowers. Commissioning was the most convenient way to get them on time, no?”
From his position at the table Albedo couldn’t see Timaeus but he was sure that the alchemist rolled his eyes.
“I’m not talking about you making the commission. I’m talking about who you commissioned to do this.”
Now it was Albedo’s turn to roll his eyes.
“Bennett was the only free person, as Katheryne informed me. Besides, I have overheard Fischl talking about how short on money he recently was, so I would have commissioned him even if there were other adventurers free.”
“But… Sir, don’t you think that he’s rarely commissioned for a reason?”
    Albedo huffed, annoyed.
“You are talking about his bad luck, right?” he said, finally turning around to face Timaeus. The man crossed his arms and nodded. Albedo snickered. “Well, forgive me for being a bit snarky today, but as an alchemist you should know that there’s no such thing as luck.” His lips quirked up smugly, when Timaeus physically took a step back. In the corner of his eye he saw how red Sucrose’s cheeks got. Ah, so the thought of the young adventurer’s bad luck crossed her mind as well.
It wasn’t his intention to truly scold any of his apprentices but to be honest, he was getting a little bit sick with people in Mondsadt being so superstitious about Bennett.
Albedo himself didn’t know him that well, and he wasn’t the kind of person who would listen to mindless gossip. But this boy was somewhat Klee’s and Razor’s friend, so he heard a thing or two about him and his apparent “bad luck”.
Like the time when he got struck by lightning on top of the mountain. Or how he somehow ran into four ruin guards at once. Or how a particularly vicious boar pushed him on his own trap. But that was also what other people have heard as well.
What they did not think about, though, was how often the lightning would strike this particular mountain. They also haven't heard that this particular place, with those guards, was the ruins of an ancient palace. They also haven’t noticed that the boars in the Whispering Woods were at the time more jumpy than usual, and even Razor wasn’t so keen on hunting that day.
People missed the logical explanations, and Albedo sometimes wondered if they did so on purpose. Sure, it was easy to call some inconveniences bad luck, but to do so every time when Bennett was involved, seemed simply cruel.
And the reputation of a bad luck charm seemed to stick to Bennett so much that the poor boy rarely had any commissions. Not only that but, according to Klee, he also looked lonely. When one day Albedo asked Klee about this, the little girl just said, with a disarming honesty, that even if he hangs around with people like herself, Fischl or Razor he does get such “weird”, as she put it, looks that he quickly would find excuses to go outside of town. Klee even said that he looked very sad when it happened, but when she’d ask about it, Bennett would quickly smile and reassure her.
And that did pull Albedo’s heartstrings. He knew how it felt to be an outcast, and while he didn’t get exacly bothered by that, it was obvious that it bothered Bennett. So he would sometimes commission the boy to gather some herbs or substances that he was running short on. And while he never made this a secret, today was the first time when both of his apprentices noticed.
“If I were to be honest, Bennett has been our sole provider of resources for a while now. And if I recall correctly, nothing seemed amiss, hm?”
Albedo had to press his lips to hide a smile, when a clearly shocked Timaeus stared at him. “Anyway. We have only so much of the daytime left, and if we chat any longer we won’t get any work done. So, Timaeus, don’t think about that now, and let’s focus” he said, and turned back to his table.
“Well, let us hope that the Deaconess will be back earlier than expected” murmured Timaeus.
Albedo was right. When they finished, the sun was already settling down, so they started to clean up. Timaeus was first, so he said his goodbyes and left, without even waiting for Albedo's usual nod, but the alchemist didn’t seem to notice it at all.
What he did notice though, was that Sucrose had already cleaned as well but still lingered.
“What is it, Sucrose?” he said, packing his last things to the bag. He could practically hear her blushing.
“I- I know what you have said about Bennett is true, but…”
He looked up at her. The girl nervously fixed her glasses. He held the urge to sigh, as he didn’t want her to get even more nervous. Timaeus could handle Albedo’s snarkiness, but Sucrose was more… Delicate.
    “But?” he prompted, standing up.
“I just… Can’t shake this um… bad feeling…” she stuttered, and aimlessly looked around, when her eyes landed on the clock. She furrowed her brows. “Wait! Mr. Albedo, shouldn’t Klee be already back?”
Surprised by the change of topic, Albedo looked at the clock as well. Sucrose was right. It was nearing nine o’clock, and Klee should get to his lab around eight.
“She might have forgotten,” he said, trying to calm Sucrose down but she shook her head.
“No, she was getting better at grasping the concept of time. It would be the first time in weeks since she’s gotten this late.”
Albedo scratched his head. He didn’t want to admit it, but he did start to worry.
“I’ll go where she said she would be” he decided. “Worst case scenario, she simply got lost. It won’t be difficult to find her though.”
“But… Shouldn't Bennett be back as well? Windrise isn’t that far away and the windwheel asters aren’t difficult to find…” Sucrose noted. As soon as she said that her eyes winded in a sudden realization. “Oh no, do you think something bad happened to the both of them?!”
“Sucrose, calm down, please. It is rather unlikely. Klee went to the Whispering Woods. She couldn’t get so lost that she got to Windrise. She would have seen the city at least five times before she could do so anyway” he interrupted gently. “But you are right, Bennett should be back as well, and from what I know he rarely ever gets lost…” he shook his head. “I’ll look for both of them.”
“I can help!” Sucrose perked up. “As you had said, it is unlikely they’ve crossed paths so it’ll take you longer to look for the both of them. Together we’ll cover more ground!”
    Albedo nodded.
“Truly Sucrose, what would I do without you.” A faint smile appeared on his lips, as  Sucrose blushed. “Okay, where do you want to go?”
“I’ll look for Klee in the Whispering Woods” she stated. Albedo raised his brow, which made her blush even more. “It’s not like I don’t want to look for Bennet! It's just that I know the Woods better, and I know Klee’s habits so…”
“I didn’t say anything,” he said pointedly. “Anyway, let’s get going. We'll meet up at my place when we’re finished”
Sucrose nodded, and with that settled, they left the lab.
    Albedo sighed.
He got to the Statue of the Seven quicker than he thought, which was surprising as he  chose the longer way on purpose, hoping that he’ll meet Bennett in Springvale in case he got badly hurt, and decided to stay. But people in the village said that they hadn't seen the boy since morning. And when Albedo got to the Windrise, judging by the lack of windwheel asters, Bennet had been here already. So he must have gotten stuck on his way back. But where was he now?
Albedo ran a hand through his hair. He only hoped that Sucrose had already found Klee.
He touched the ground near the place where the petals of windwheel asters laid and closed his eyes, trying to focus. His vision glowed as he tried to find any traces that would tell him where the boy went, when suddenly he also felt two other presences. One familiar, the other more sinister. He furrowed his brows, focusing harder on those feelings and when he finally recognized them, he felt his blood run cold.
It was Klee. And the other presence were definitely Abyss Mages, two if Albedo felt right. And judging by the traces that they left, they were royally pissed.
Albedo quickly got up and just as he was about to run he heard an explosion coming from the other side of the river. Oh good Archons, please no, he thought sprinting in that direction.
Nearby the old column he finally saw them. Two Cryo Abyss Mages, one of them with an already broken shield, no doubt by one of Klee’s bombs. The little girl quickly stepped back, while Bennett charged his sword with flames, presumably to strike the mage down. But then the second mage pointed his staff at Klee.
“Klee, watch out!” shouted both Albedo and Bennett.
The girl had time to only turn around when she saw an ice shot coming at her. Albedo forced himself to run faster, but he knew he wouldn't be able to reach her in time.
“Get out of the way!” he heard Bennett yell and when he looked at him, the boy was already in front of Klee, shielding her. Right after that he fell to his knees, and then face first to the ground. The Mage laughed.
“Now it’s only you, child” Albedo heard him snicker. At this moment he saw the ground light up in red and the Mage’s shield broke down. That’s his chance.
Albedo called his sword, and focusing the power in his hand he quickly summoned the Solar Isotoma, sending both of the Mages away from Klee and Bennett.
“Feel this ancient power” he said with a vile smile on his lips and let the Geo crystals finish his job.
Once he made sure that neither of the Mages would be getting up, he hurried over to the children.
“Albedo!” Klee yelled, throwing her hands around him. He gave her a quick hug, and kneeled in front of her.
“Are you okay?” he asked, frantically looking her over. The little girl nodded. She brushed away her tears and said:
    “I am, but Benny…”
At that, Albedo gently turned the boy around, noticing how cold he was to touch. There was blood on his head, but it looked like it was from a scratch rather than a serious injury. His arm, however, looked worse.
It wasn’t something that Albedo had seen before. Judging by the hoarfrost surrounding it, it was where the Mage’s shot landed. The alchemist touched it lightly, and Bennett groaned but didn't open his eyes. The man could feel a bruise forming under all of that hoarfrost, but that was all that he could gather. Barbara would be able to tell him more when they get to the… Oh no.
Barbara was away, and the sisters left weren’t that skilled with elemental induced injuries to help Bennett out, and from what Albedo remembered, Jean also was outside of the city, so he couldn’t ask her for help. And that left only him and Sucrose.
He got pulled from his thoughts by Klee’s worried voice:
“Albedo? Is Benny okay?”
“No, Klee” he said, forcing himself to stay calm. He already knew where it was going. “But we will get him to be okay, all right?”
Just as he suspected, tears appeared in the girl’s eyes. She desperately hugged Dodoco.
“It’s all my fault” she muttered sadly.
“You couldn’t have predicted it, Klee” Albedo softly interjected. “Besides, worrying won’t help us. We need to get Bennett to Mondstadt.” he added and furrowed his brows. He noticed how Klee swayed slightly on her feet. The girl must have been exhausted. Albedo smiled sympathetically. “I know that you must be tired, but I can’t carry you, I have to focus on your friend, okay?” Klee nodded, and her face hardened, like she was forcing herself to get her energy back. “Just stay close to me, we only need to find the right teleport”.
Seeing as Klee obediently stepped closer to him, he gently got Bennet on his back and they started walking.

Fortunately for them, the teleport got them right into the center of the city. Albedo quickly walked to his home, Klee hot on his heels. By the door they saw Sucrose, who at first looked relieved when she saw them, but her demeanor quickly changed when she noticed who Albedo was carrying.
“Archons! What happened?” she said, opening the door for Albedo. The alchemist was about to explain, but Klee beat him to it.
“I was playing in the Woods, when the two Ma… Mages saw me and started to flow to me so I ran to the teleport and fell on Benny! And I thought I was safe, but they ran after me and Benny tried to protect me and…” she stopped, hugging the Dodoco closer to herself. Albedo knew she was forcing herself to not cry.
“It really wasn’t your fault, Klee” he repeated, and then raised his eyes on Sucrose. “He got hit by one of the Mages, but not with something I had seen before.”
The young woman quickly got into her alchemist mode.
“Mr. Albedo lay him on a couch. We’ll see what’s wrong”
Albedo did as she said, and let her try her methods first. He trusted her abilities with healing more than he did with his. He knew that at this moment the roles were reversed, and this was the time where all he could do was to assist her. But right now, judging by her looks, that wasn’t necessary.
He turned to a still very distressed looking Klee and lightly patted her on the shoulder.
“Come on now, missy. It’s late, you should go to bed.”
    “B-but…”
“Sucrose got it, all right? If we stand here and hover, we won’t be helping her, and you need to rest” he said but Klee only furrowed her brows harder. Seeing that she still was not convinced, Albedo kneeled in front of her and lightly patted her on the cheek. “Hey, don’t worry. I know this looked scary, and if I were you, I would be scared as well.”
“Really?!” Klee whisper-shouted. He smiled reassuringly.
“Really. But at the same time I know that worrying will do me no good. I know that Sucrose can help Bennett, you do as well. So maybe focus on how can you thank them both later, okay?”
He felt relief washing over him, as he saw Klee finally smile.
“Okay! But… Um… Do you think I can leave Dodoco with Benny? He’ll watch over him.”
    Albedo couldn't help but smile.
“I’m sure it won’t hurt, but ask Sucrose first. And then straight to bed with you, okay?”
Klee happily nodded and entered the living room. Albedo leaned on the doorframe watching as the little girl tugged at Sucrose carefully, and then whispered something to her ear. The young woman smiled softly and nodded her head, while lightly petting Klee’s hair. He sighed. Now they could only wait.
Sucrose has left the room past midnight, looking exhausted, but with a proud smile on her face. Albedo looked at her.
    “How is he?”
“Stable. I’ve managed to extract the essence of the shot from the wound so we could study it later but from what it looked like, its aim was to efficiently knock out the victim by making him freeze on the inside” she sighed, sitting across Albedo. “And you were right. It is something new.”
“Then the Knights, or at least Kaeya, should be informed about that” Albedo thought out loud. Seeing as Sucrose stood up he quickly added: “Not tonight though. I think it is fair to say that we are all tired. Will Bennett need something else?”
Hearing his question, Sucrose lost her confidence in a blink of an eye.
“A-Actually he is awake. I- I was about to tell you that he asked for you but um...”
    Albedo nodded absentmindedly.
“Okay. You should go to sleep, Sucrose. I have already prepared the guest room for you.”
    The girl blushed.
“Y- you didn’t have to…” she whispered, looking at the ground.
“Oh I had to. You really saved the day, and you need to rest as well. Don’t worry, it’s not bothering me in the slightest.”
    She flustered.
“Okay then… Um… Goodnight, Mr. Albedo.”
“Goodnight, Sucrose” he said, biting back the comment about calling him mister in his own home. It was a talk for another day.
He got up and knocked on the doorframe, and when he heard a meek “go in” he entered.
Bennett laid awake on the couch under at least three blankets, that Albedo had no idea from where they were. He wasn’t all that surprised though. It wouldn’t be the first time when Sucrose proved to know his house better than him.
He sat on the chair that was beside the couch. Despite his tiredness he mustered up a smile.
“You wanted to see me, Bennett?”
    The boy nodded vigorously.
“Yes, Mr. Albedo! I…” he hesitated, clearly trying to gather his thoughts. “I…”
“Take your time. You’ve taken quite a hit there.”
“Wouldn’t be the first time,” Bennett said with a cheerful voice. “It comes with being the unlucky adventurer, you know!”
Albedo sighed. It was way too late to have a talk with the boy about placebo, but he promised himself that they will talk about it some other time.
“I guess I just wanted to… To thank you, I guess?” Bennett said, scratching the back of his head nervously. Albedo raised his brows.
    “Oh?”
“Like… Not only you saved my… My life today, I guess, but you are also almost the only person in the town, aside from maybe Ms. Mona, to often commission me! And this really helps me, you know! And… And you let me watch over Klee, despite me being a possible danger to her, and… And um… I know you sometimes pay me extra and just I… I wanted you to… To know that… It means a lot. To me, I mean. And um… Thank you?”
With every word, Bennett’s talking got quicker and quicker. Albedo smiled. He lightly patted him on the shoulder, stopping the boy’s frantic speech.
“There is nothing to thank me for, Bennett. Today got dangerous, I admit, but it was my duty as the Knight of Favonius to help you. And you showed that instead of being hm… a danger, as you put it, for Klee, you rather focus on protecting her, which shows to me, how responsible you are. And that is also the reason why I commission you so often. I trust your ability to complete it.”
Bennett’s lips hung open. The poor boy looked absolutely stunned, and it quickly downed on Albedo, that the young adventurer probably didn’t hear much praise coming from anyone, aside from his dads probably. He felt both anger and sadness washing over him.
Anger at the people of Mondstadt for treating him so badly, that the poor boy got genianly stunned by hearing praise and sadness that it got to this point. Feeling his big brother instincts taking over him, he ruffled Bennett’s hair, just like he would to Klee when she was upset and added:
“I also believe that one day you will be the greatest adventurer to walk on Tevyat, luck or no luck. You, Bennett, are one of the most determined, responsible, goal-oriented, coragues and optimistic people that I ever had the pleasure to meet.”
    Bennett’s lips started to quiver.
“Mr. Albedo…” he whispered in disbelief. Albedo just smiled, and that seemed to give Bennett the corague to meekly ask: “Can I… Can I hug you? Please?”
“Of course” he answered, already opening his arms. Bennett practically fell into him, trying to get as close to the alchemist as possible. If his arms shook a bit, Albedo decided not to mention it. He simply settled on rubbing the boy’s back, similarly like he did to Klee when she woke up from a nightmare.
They sat like that for a while, until Bennett decided to pull away. He rubbed a fist under his eyes and smiled hopefully.
    “Mr. Albedo?”
    “Hm?”
“Would you be willing to join Benny’s Adventure Team?”
“Oh…” he sighed. He had heard about the misfortunate team and knew how important it was to Bennett, but still… “Unfortunately, I have to decline your generous offer. I rarely leave Mondsadt, so I wouldn’t be much of a valuable member to your team, I’m afraid.”
“Oh… Y- yeah, you’re right I guess…” Bennett’s smile slightly faltered but just when Albedo opened his mouth to reassure him, he looked at him again with slightly pleading eyes. “What about an Honorary Member? We could go out together when you would need to go into the wild! I know the best ways to some secret spots, you know!”
At that Albedo couldn’t help but smile earnestly.
“Well then” he said calmly “In that case, it would be my absolute honor.”
A few days later a very frantic looking Timaeus all but burst into the lab.
“Sir, tell me it’s not true,” he said. Albedo, completely unphased by his sudden coming in, started a fire under the vial.
    “What isn’t true?” he asked.
“That you are an… An Honorary Member of Benny’s Adventure Team!” Timaeus exclaimed frantically. Hearing Albedo’s soft chuckle, he felt his blood run cold. They are doomed.

New Beginnings
Steve Rogers x Reader
It was a quiet day in the shop the first day you met him. You hadn’t been working there long, but you already had a way of identifying customers from the moment they walked in the door. It was one of the reasons you loved flowers, they drive human connection and emotion in such powerful ways. The excited-nervousness of a first date bouquet or corsage, the confident anniversary arrangement, the just-because, the list goes on. And as soon as the door chimes and you see him for the first time, you know why he’s there. There’s conflict on his face, grief weighing down his shoulders as he slowly approaches the desk. You offer a kind smile as a means of consolement as he takes a pause, gathering his thoughts before clearing his throat and speaking.
“Could I get a dozen- two dozen roses please?”
“Would you like the thorns cut?” You ask as you begin carefully collecting the flowers.
“Uh, no you can leave them on.” He instructs, a hint of a smile passing over his face for a moment as you quickly put together the shop’s most common arrangement and proceed to payment.
As you count out his change you catch him staring down at something out of view, clearly not present.
“I’m sorry for your loss.” You speak up gently, holding the bouquet out in one hand and the change in the other, pulling the man back to reality.
“Thank you.” He responds solemnly, dropping the money in your tip jar before carefully taking the flowers and exiting the shop.
                                                            ~⍟~
Exactly one week later he comes in again, and it catches you by surprise. You don’t manage to hide the expression well as he reacts to it a beat after walking through the door.
“The flowers wilted.” He clarifies and your heart breaks a little for him as you reach for the roses.
“How many?”
                                                            ~⍟~
He comes every Sunday that month for a rose bouquet. You don’t make small talk, it doesn’t feel right to make light of his experience and he doesn’t offer conversation. You premake the arrangement so that he doesn’t even have to ask, there’s sincerity in his eyes when he thanks you.
However, one sunday afternoon there’s a break in the routine. The normal quiet shop is buzzing with patrons in a Mother’s Day rush. Part of you enjoys the challenge of a busy day (and certainly the tip influx) however it gets exhausting dealing with snappy clients and soon your hands ache from constant work and thorn pricks. The tensions increase tremendously when the shop runs out of roses by early afternoon. So as you’re tying up a tulip arrangement and you hear your coworker inform yet another customer of the shortage you prepare for the worst. But there’s no groan of annoyance or lame joke. That’s when you notice the time, and you look over, and you see him.
“Is there anything else I could get for you, sir?” Your coworker chirps waiting for him to respond but he just looks lost. You pass off the tulips to the waiting customer and scan the shop. The rush has begun to dwindle with only three customers in line behind him.
“Why don’t I help you put together a new arrangement?” You offer. He hesitates for a moment then nods. You set down your shears and step out from behind the counter, motioning for him to follow you as you walk towards one of the displays.
“Is it alright if I ask you some questions?” You inquire cautiously as his eyes scan the wall before landing on you and nodding once again.
“Is there a particular connection to roses in the relationship?”
“No, um- not really.”
“A lot of people go to roses because it’s that universal symbol of love, but there are a lot of other flowers that can represent that. I’d usually only recommend red roses if there’s an additional meaning in the relationship or if you’re looking for something easy. Oh, or if they’re very traditional- was this person a very traditional type?”
“Not exactly.” His ghost smile returns again and he shakes his head.
“Well then you have a lot of other options. Flowers all have different meanings. Carnations are common funeral flowers because they stand for remembrance and gratitude. Or if you want you could go more relationship-based. There are some flowers for friends like zinnias, some for lovers like peonies. You could also choose flowers that represent character like the gladiolus which symbolizes strength and integrity. So, do you have any idea what meaning you’d like to aim for?”
He ponders for a moment, glancing around before taking a small step and looking into a barrel of flowers, plucking one out.
“What are these?”
“Asters.” You inform him, taking a step to examine them.
“I recognize them.” He remarks.
“Very common in arrangements, but not considered to be focal points. They used to be worn often in the hair like daisies in the 40s and 50s. By the 60s people moved to flower crowns which were usually made of smaller flowers. But asters go back even farther, the Greeks believed they warded off evil and used them as a staple.”
“What do they represent?”
“Love and patience. Though the colors can push the meaning one way or another depending on the arrangement. Would you like to work with these?”
“These would be perfect.” He replies and you wave him over to watch as you put a bouquet together.
He settles on those for a while. When he comes in it’s not as silent. He’ll implore about the meaning of other flowers, you offer to mix other species, but he only buys asters for three months.
                                                              ~⍟~
He’s gone for awhile. A long while. His visits didn’t slow. He was there once a week until he wasn’t. You think it’s probably for the best, he probably moved on. But a part of you holds on, misses the familiar face. Eventually you move on too.
It’s late afternoon and you’re leaving work. The clippings have been thrown out, the open sign has been flipped to closed, and the keys are in your hand when you hear a shout.
A figure quickly runs towards you and your heart speeds up for a moment before his face comes into view and halts right in front of you.
“Hi.” He breathes. “I didn’t know if you still worked here.”
You nod, still slightly stunned.
“I don’t mean to hold you up, but today’s important.” He states.
You nod again. “Of course, come in.” You say kicking the door back open. He catches it, following in after you.
“It’s been a long time.” You remark, immediately collecting the familiar flower and crafting the bouquet. “You look good with a beard.”
“Thanks.” He says, taken aback. “You remembered?”
“There aren’t a lot of customers who would listen to me ramble on about plant symbolism for months. Plus it’s a pretty non-traditional request.” You reply, handing the bundle over to him. “Where have you been?”
“Out of New York.” He informs while reaching into his pocket.
“And you came all the way back past closing for these?” You say, amused.
“A lot has changed in my life, I guess I was looking for something familiar.” He replies earnestly as you place the change in his hand. “I appreciate you taking the time. Thank you.”
“It’s no trouble.” You wave him off, clearing your work station for the second time. “How long are you in town.”
“Hard to say.” He responds as you walk out from behind the counter once more and pause.
“Who are you?” You ask.
“Steve Rogers.” He informs, putting his hand out. “And you?”
“(Y/N) (L/N)” You answer, shaking his hand with an amused smile.
“Well, Thanks again (Y/N).”
“Hope to see you again soon Steve.”
                                                            ~⍟~
Steve comes back a month later. And he is different, but not in a bad way. You can tell when he walks in that he’s not looking for grief flowers.
“A beautiful day in the neighborhood is it Mr. Rogers?” You jest as he walks in with a smile.
He cocks his head in confusion as you chuckle lightly. “Nevermind. What’s the occasion?”
“A gift this time. I was hoping you could help me prepare something for an old friend.” He answers.
“Any other details?” You ask, racking your brain immediately.
“Something durable enough to survive a flight.” He states, surprising you.
“I wouldn’t recommend hardly anything for a long flight; You can’t bring a water vase through TSA.” You inform him.
“I don’t think that will be a problem.” He replies causing you to chuckle once more.
“You’re an interesting man, Mr. Rogers.” You remark. “Are you always this vague?”
“When I-”
Steve is cut off by the door to the shop being thrown open, two suited men walking with determination up to him.
“Hello, can I help-.” You begin to greet the gentleman but freeze as they each pull a gun on Steve.
“Take it easy fellas.” Steve instructs slowly putting his hands up.
“You shouldn’t have come back to New York, Captain.” One man rebukes. You begin inching towards the back room, not as stealthy as you like as one of them turns and aims his gun at you. “Don’t move.”
Steve takes a swing at the one who’s gun is still trained on him, catching the man’s wrist as he fires in retaliation and jerking it up so that the hand gun fires into the ceiling. The other man turns away from you and Steve grabs the one who he’s currently struggling with and swings him into the other, causing both men to tumble into a display. The recently-fired weapon skitters across the floor and Steve lunges after it as the fallen men untangle themselves from the perennials. The unarmed man charges Steve who pistol whips him, easily knocking him onto the floor. The other approaches slowly with his gun trained on Steve who raises his own hand-gun to match him.
“You’re not gonna shoot me.” The man declares as he inches closer. Steve takes a few steps in as well, testing the man as the gap narrows between them.
“You’re right.” Steve affirms before reeling back and slamming his head against the other man’s, sending him stumbling back into another display. Steve persists, the two exchanging punches, power shifting as they grapple with each other, each being thrown to the floor and bouncing back. Eventually, Steve lands the final blow that knocks the other unconscious. He exhales a breath as he watches the man slump to the ground then moves his gaze towards you.
“Please, don’t tell anyone I was here.” He requests as the sound of sirens are heard approaching in the distance. You swallow thickly but nod, eyes fixated on him as he bolts from the store with amazing speed.
You take a few careful steps out from behind the counter and examine the damage inside the shop, still holding your breath as you move between the two fallen men. You notice an old device on the ground amongst the ruined flowers and grab it with a shaky hand.  You examine it, curiosity and anxiety battling in your brain as you inspect it in it’s closed state. Your interest outweighs your rationale as you flip it open, revealing an old compass with a photo attached. The door chimes and you quickly pocket the device as police flood the scene. Your head is spinning in unanswered questions, with one sticking out in particular.
Who the hell is Steve Rogers?
                                                            ~⍟~
The shop is closed for a few days to deal with the damages. Thankfully all the destruction was done to products and storing units and not to the structure itself. As soon as supply is restocked and the bullet hole is patched, the business is back up and running. Your boss offers you time off to deal with the shock, but you turn it down, curious to see if or when Steve will show again. After two weeks pass, you start to doubt him ever reappearing as you weigh the circumstances from his end. You also begin to wonder if the compass is worth holding onto, but you bring it to work just in case.
You’re locking up the shop, with some difficulty as harsh rain from a brewing thunderstorm pelts down at you and causes the keys to slip. The rain is suddenly obstructed and you look over to find Steve standing beside you, holding an umbrella over your head. He’s got on a jacket along with a black cap and glasses and you wonder if that’s supposed to be a low-effort disguise as you turn the lock.
“I’m sorry.” He speaks first, taking the sunglasses off. “I would never want to put people in danger, especially someone who has been a friend to me.”
“I’m okay. Though there were some flowers that didn’t make it.” You joke, a smile cracking his solemn expression.
“I thought you might be angry or afraid, but you’re-”
“Okay, really I am. My boss has insurance.” You assure him. “You’re not who I thought you’d be, Mr. Rogers.”
“I’m sorry.” He repeats and you shake your head.
“Never said that was a bad thing, Captain.” You reply. “I’ve done my research on you now, and unless either of those guys were also frozen for 70 years, I think this belongs to you.”
You pull the compass out and press it into his palm, his eyes widen as he opens it. “I thought the agents would’ve taken it in.”
“I’ve got good eyes.” You shrug. “Let’s just say you owe me one.”
“I owe you a lot.” He insists, pocketing the compact. “And I’d like to make it up to you. Maybe at dinner, tomorrow?”
You break into a smile and nod, stepping out from under the umbrella to hail a cab. “You know when I get off.”
                                                            ~⍟~
He’s cleaned up well when you spot him outside the store a few minutes after closing, and so have you, being out of your work clothing (though the floral scent still sticks to you.)
He greets you warmly, still in a pseudo-disguise of cap and glasses as he approaches. “Wow, I’ve never seen you without an apron.”
“Do I lose my charm without the uniform?”
“I guess we’ll find out by the end of the night.” He teases. “You hungry?”
You smile and nod, falling into step beside him as he leads the way. It’s a short walk before he opens the door to a diner, holding it as you step inside and get seated in a booth.
“Did you come here as a kid?” You tease as you take in the retro atmosphere of the establishment.
He rolls his eyes, setting down his menu to look at you. “I had a feeling the old jokes were coming.”
“Am I that predictable or are you just wise in your old age?”
“Probably both.” He sighs.
You two quip back and forth throughout the meal. You joke about sharing a milkshake and the waitress plays along until you see Steve’s shoulders tense and declare yourself too full.
“Do you always come to places like this?” You inquire after a beat of silence (post-battling over the check)
“Like what?” He responds, casting his eyes towards the table as you shoot him a knowing look. “It’s hard catching up to the world sometimes. I think I do a pretty good job all things considered, but sometimes I miss the way things used to be.”
“Would you change it?”
“I try not to think about it like that. I can’t change what’s already happened.”
“But there’s a lot that you can look forward to.”
“There’s a lot to enjoy right now.”
“I agree.” You smile, letting the moment sit before moving to your feet.
“Okay, Golden Boy, you gotta get me home before curfew or else my dad isn’t going to let me go to the sock hop with you this weekend.” You tease.
“Alright then.” Steve huffs as he stands up as well, the two of you strolling back in the direction of the shop. You stop at where your car is parked on the street at the storefront and prepare your goodbyes. “I was wondering if I could give you something.”
“Yeah, sure.” You reply, curious as he dashes off and reappears, handing you a bouquet.
“White Narcissus.” You remark, carefully taking the flowers in surprise. “Daffodils to most people.”
“Symbolizing New Beginnings.” He recites, offering you a small smile which you return as you pluck one from the bunch and hand it to him.
“To New Beginnings.” You echo, staring at him. He leans in first and you let the flowers droop at your side as your lips are caught in a chaste kiss.
“When’s your flight?” You ask without widening the gap between you.
“Last week.” He breathes.
“Go get ‘em Captain.” You joke, patting him on the arm, but the small laugh does nothing to ease his bittersweet smile before he leans in once more.
“Thank you, for everything.” He says, earnestly as he pulls away again. “I don’t know when I’ll be back in New York but…”
“I’ll see you soon Mr. Rogers.”

I had a package to deliver back in Skingrad, so I paid it one last visit before continuing further East. On the way back, guess who we ran into? M’aiq The Liar: “M’aiq wishes he had a stick made out of fishies to give to you. Sadly, he does not.” Trials: Realization dawned. “Like, I see what you’re saying. The ‘fishy-sticks’ are symbolic of the violence inherent in the system. It grinds down the worker just like the meat of delicious fish is ground down into an inedible stick.” M’aiq The Liar: “...” Trials: “And like a school of fishes rising from the deeps, we need to unite and rise up against the ruling class! Before they crush us into indigestible bricks of processed foodstuffs.” M’aiq The Liar: He was visibly confused. “...lady, I’m just a meme-guy!” Trials: “No, no, you’re right, it’s time for the revolution to begin! We’ll cast down the false-leaders of the empire, as I certainly didn’t vote for them! Dismantle White Gold Tower brick by brick! And when they asked who inspired this uprising, I’ll be sure to tell them it was ‘M’aiq The Liar’.” M’aiq The Liar: “Please don--” Trials: “And when they cut your head off and put your it on a pike, I will be there to salute you, sir, for your sacrif--” I look up to realize I’m speaking to a vaguely M’aiq-shaped dust cloud, as the real M’aiq had already raced down the road. Trials: “...huh. Poor guy. Couldn’t handle the burden of leading the revolution.” [ M’aiq Count: 6 ]

After a while of hiking, we spotted the dig-site in the distance. A few tents, surrounded by trees, on a small island just inside of the river that feeds Niben Bay. Ruin and I drew in closer, and inspected the site. Up close the place was a marvel to behold; the huge trilobite fossil in particular was quite eye-catching. Surely it’s... thousands of years old? Uh, how old is our world? Like, I don’t have the most extensive history background, but the First era was only about three-thousand years long, and the Second Era was only about nine-hundred, and now we’re in the Third Era, and we’re only up to the year 433... I don’t know for sure how long the Dawn and Merithic Eras were, but if the pattern holds true, they were only a few thousand years long at most. Is that even enough time for something to turn into a fossil? Besides the huge “fossil”, the other sight of note was this... cocoon in a tent, dripping some very pungent slime. The smell was enough to make one gag, and I really wondered how the Archie-Guild assistants could stand to be around it. Whatever this stuff is, the guildies seemed to be collecting it. I wonder whatever for? Well, now that we’re here, step one was to speak to the Assistants and see what they had to say.
Tumblr media
Assistant Azim: “Don’t you just love field work? The fresh open air... the camping under the starry sky...?” Trials: “The burning smell of whatever that slime is corroding your nose.” Assistant Azim: “Now if you ask me, there’re two reasons why Tumyr is out in the sticks--” Trials: “Is one of them; ‘He’s ducking Teav’s flirtatious advances’?” Assistant Azim: “...okay, three reasons. “But also, because he is a congenital practical joker. One who happens to like pranking his boss, Rythor. Tumyr’s got something against stuffy desk-work, so he used a soul gem on Rythor’s library, which somehow got them to talk in their authors’ voices. He claimed that he’d intended to use it as a tool so that they could provide a sort of commentary to the texts, but what they actually did was to moan constantly about anything that had bothered them in life. Bad backs, pet hates, personal insults, anything.” Trials: “Huh. I wonder what would happen if someone used a soul gem on my Tumble-Scroll?” Assistant Azim: “I think it would start complaining about the glacial pace you’ve been posting at, lately.” Trials: I pouted. “Hey, I get busy sometimes!” Assistant Azim: “And the other reason is that Tumyr is a Khajiit, and he just loves big, green open space.” Trials: I frowned at him. “Hey, that sounds like Profiling. Would you just go and assume that because I’m Argonian I like walking in the rain?” Ruin: “...Trials, you do like walking the rain.” Trials: “...okay, but he shouldn’t go assuming it! “But, hey, you seem to know all the gossip, so what’s the story with your founder, Solan? You all seem to speak about him with such reverence, but I haven’t heard much in the way of details.” Assistant Azim: “You want me to tell you about Solan? Okay, but I don’t know any more than the rest of us about our great founder and pioneer. “Solan originally came from Hammerfell, where his family had been embroiled in the war of Betonys--” Trials: “Zzzzzz...!” Muttering in my sleep. “M-metal gear... grumble-grunt...” Ruin: “Uh, try to go easy on the politics. It puts her to sleep.” Assistant Azim: “...” He sighed slapped me to wake me up. Trials: My face still stinging. “L-Liquid!” Assistant Azim: He rolled his eyes before continuing. “Solan regards people as the keepers of sacred knowledge, and felt that everyone held some special part of Tamriels history in their souls. Trials: “I think my soul holds all of Cyrodiil’s memes!” Assistant Azim: “As such, he was a fanatical humanist, whose sense of charity and reverence of the people earned him the nickname of ‘Solan the Baptist’.” Trials: “...what the heck is a ‘baptist’?” Assistant Azim: “They dunk your head under water while saying prayers and blessings to the divines.” Trials: “I see! Well, next time I’ll be sure to threaten to ‘baptize’ Sova when she gets sassy.” Assistant Azim: “I don’t think she would appreciate that.” Trials: “I’ll just throw in some ancient Alyeid gods and she could call it ‘research’.”
Tumblr media
The other assistant on duty here was “Assistant Quovi.” I spoke to her next, as she dusted grit and minerals off of the trilobite fossil. She didn’t have much to say, save to gossip about her superiors at the Archeology Guild. Did you know that Aster Cei is married to a Khajiit? Not one of the Southern city-dwellers, either, but a well-connected and hot-tempered lass from one of the nomadic tribes. Sova, meanwhile, was Born with a Silver Spoon in her mouth, as her snooty attitude might have suggested. Hailing from Skywatch in the Summnerset isles, she enraptured the court there from an early age. She saw the digs over here in Cyrodiil as beneath her, and took time to adjust to it. And she’s not too keen on Nords, Orcs, or... hired goons. Trials: “Hired Goons?” Assistant Quovi: “Don’t pay her too much mind. I hear that Rythor actually prefers the personal touch you only get with Hired Goons.” “Anyway, Sova’s not so bad. Once you get used to bowing to her every morning.”
Tumblr media
Finally it was time to enter the big tent, and speak to the Khajiit himself. Gotta say, for someone who loves the great outdoors, his tent sure has a lot of hard-to-transport amenities. I understand that books on paleontology might be important for his work, but the mental image of him carefully arranging his bookshelf every time they make a new camp amused me. Tumyr: “Hello? And who might you be?” Trials: “Hey, I’m ‘Forged-Through-Trials,’ and he’s ‘Ruined-Tail.’ We’re new hires.” Ruin: “A pleasure.” Tumyr: “Really? So nice to meet you. I’m ‘Tumry,’ resident paleontologist.” Trials: “Anyway, we swung by because Teav needs a vial of your famous Dissolving Agent.” Tumyr: “Ah, poor timing, I’m afraid. I’ve run dry of the stuff, for the moment. Used it all to dig out that Ampryx out there.” Trials: “Oh, you mean, the trilobite?” Tumyr: “Yes. It’s a new species I just discovered, so I get to name it. I’ve dubbed it ‘Ampyx Adapsys’.” Trials: “Fascinating stuff, really, but--” Tumyr: “Slithering along the coastline, filter feeding on sand, their chitin exoskeleton and long spines helped protect them from ambush predators.” Trials: I rolled my eyes. “Listen, Tumyr The Science-Guy, we’re here about the Dissolving Agent. If you’re all out, where or when can we get more?” Tumyr: “Oh, making more? That’s easily done, so long as you’ve got the sliiiiiiiime.” Trials: I made a face at him. “Eww, I don’t like how you said ‘slime’. You make it sound vaguely carnal.” Ruin: He visibly paled. “...well, there’s a mental imagine I’m going to be trying to flush for the rest of the day.” Trials: “You and me both, bruh.” Tumyr: He pouted. “I’m just talking about the stuff that leaks from the cocoon I have outside. It’s the active ingredient in my Dissolving Agent. You just mix it with five Green Stain Cup Caps and you have one vial of the agent.” Trials: “...what a coincidence! I happen have five Green Stain Cup Caps right here.” I passed him the Cup Caps. “It’s almost like... there is someone outside of the Aubris who has experienced all of this before and is guiding my actions, or something.”
Tumblr media
Tumyr: He blinked in confusion. “...what... is she looking at?” Ruin: He simply shrugged. Tumry: “...” He shook his head, and passed the finished Dissolving Agent to Ruin. “I think I’d better trust this to you.”
Tumblr media
Fast forward past a short hike back toward the Archie-Guild castle, and Ruin and I were back and speaking to Teav. Ruin passed him the Dissolving Agent, which delighted Teav, who assured us that after some careful preparation, he could begin to carefully remove the contamination and corrosion obscuring the Metallic Shard’s Inner Matrix to further study the artifact. Teav: “I’ve also got some good news for you. Rythor, our Headmaster, has returned from his expedition. I’ve already put in a good word for you.” Trials: “Aww, thanks! I appreciate your doing that for me.” Teav: “You deserve it. Weird as you are sometimes, you do get the job done. Rythor has told me he’d like to meet you in person. You can find him in the Library.”
Tumblr media
A hop, skip and jump later, and we’d found the Library. As you might imagine for the library owned by a bunch of nerds, the place was huge, and filled wall to wall with books... and a giant dragon skull. Gotta say, it’s an effective conversation-starter. Which, given the story Assistant Azim told me about Tumyr’s prank, getting a conversation started isn’t the problem. It’s getting the books to shut up! Book Written by Pelagius III: “And I’ll go into people’s houses at night and wreck up the place!” Dragon Skull: “Well, he’s lost my vote.” Rythor: Obviously irate. “Shut up, both of you! I’m going to kill Tumyr the next time I see him.” He finally noticed Ruin and I, and offered a wave, his demeanor changing immediately. “Greetings. You must be the new recruit I’ve heard so much about.” Trials: “IDidn’tDoEet! Except for the cool stuff. That I did the hell out of!” Rhythor: “...” He straightened his robes anxiously. “Well, I’ve mostly heard only the cool stuff. “I’m ‘Kal Rythor,’ Archeology Guild Headmaster. Teav tells me you’ve done a fine job clearing out that Spire. Given the decent job you did there, and our clear, dire need for some muscle, I’m making you the guild’s official ‘Enforcer.’ You’re now a permanent member, responsible for clearing any hurdles we may run into.” Trials: “Huh. ‘Enforcer’? Makes me sound like a bouncers, or like one of those Made Mer from the Camonna Tong. You’re not gonna send me to go make offers people can’t refuse, are ya?” Rythor: “...” He smiled knowingly. “Funny you should mention that...” Ruin: He frowned thoughtfully. “Oh, here we go.” Rythor: “On the expedition I just returned from, we’d found another Spire, similar to the one you just cleared. There’s more than just one!” Trials: “Well, need me to go in and clear that one out, too?” Rythor: “Not unless you’re into lawn-care. The problem there isn’t monsters, it’s that it’s overgrown with nearly impenetrable vines. There is, however, a nearby mine that burrows deep into the same mountain. “This is where you come in. I need you to speak with the Mine Foreman down there, help him see the virtue of our cause, and convince him to dig a tunnel into the Antechamber.” Trials: “...I feel like cutting through vines would be a lot easier than tunneling through solid rock.” Rythor: “You’d think that, but Cyrodiilic vines are so tough it takes a literal act of god to move them. “Now, go convince those minders to dig that tunnel for us.” Trials: “And what if they refuse?” Rythor: “Then convince your fist to make friends with their noses until they agree.” Trials: Flabbergasted. “...wow! Is that really necessary? I mean, they’re not Sova.” Rythor: “If it comes to it. Meanwhile, I’m going to lead an excavation effort at the Spire you’ve just cleared. “Godspeed, my Enforcer.”

Hidden Identity Drabble 1
Sweet Pea x Reader - Sweet Pea x Poppy
AN: Dad!Sweet Pea for y’all! This was sorta requested. I’m working on a few other things for you guys too right now :) It would help if you have read hidden identity buut I don’t think you necessarily have to in order to get the story. All mistakes are my own. I do not own the gif.
Summary: Poppy (Sweet Pea x Reader Daughter) brings home a boy.
Warnings: Some angst.
Tumblr media
You looked to your daughter sighing. She had just said the words you never wanted to hear. “Mom? Mama. Are you okay?”
You laughed. “I will be, but your father… well good luck with that. I am fine with you dating but I have to meet this person first.”
Poppy nodded throwing her arms around your neck. “Thanks Mama! I’ll go find Dad right now!”
“Good luck” You muttered under your breath while continuing dinner.
-
Poppy POV
-
Poppy ran down the stairs of the porch to the garage.
She watched her younger brother Aster hand her Dad the tools needed to fix his bike.
“Hey Ace, can I talk to dad...alone?”
Her thirteen year old brother rolled his eyes but set the tools down and left the garage.
“Alright Ace start her- Poppy?” Sweet Pea started as he rolled out from under the vehicle.
“Hi daddy.” Poppy gave her best smile.
“Oh no, pulling out daddy huh? What do you want?” Sweet Pea smirked. He knew his daughters ways.
Poppy started the vehicle it coming to life under the key. A smile on Sweet Peas face as she looked at him.
“I want you to meet someone.”
Sweet Pea looked to his daughter, this was not going to be good.
“Who? A new girl that is a friend?” He tried.
Poppy fiddled with the hem of her top, a nervous habit she had picked up from her mother.
“Uh- a sorta new friend… yes.”
“Spit it out chick pea.”
“I want you to meet a boy dad.” She spewed out.
Sweet Pea stood shocked as he processed. “I need a drink.”
He walked out of the garage and headed into the house.
-
YOUR POV
-
You heard the thud of Sweet Peas boots on the porch stairs. You immediately pulled out a beer from the fridge and set it on the counter for him.
You watched him walk in. “Hey baby, need a beer?”
“You knew she was coming out to ask me didn’t you?”
You gave a slight laugh. “Who do you think she asked first.”
Just then Poppy came into the kitchen.
“Daddy, I really want you to meet him.” Poppy sat next to her father.
“Okay fine, but I am putting the fear-” Sweet Pea started.
“Sweets play nice.” You cut him off.
“Yes Daddy, please please don’t start anything.” Poppy begged. “He is a nice boy dad, you actually uh you know him kind of…” She trailed off.
Sweet Pea set his beer back down on the counter, turning toward his daughter. “What do you mean I kind of know him Poppy Mae.”
“He’s a serpent….” She mumbled toward the ground.
“Excuse me?”
“Sweets-” You tried.
“That’s it… I’m calling your uncle.”
Poppy’s mouth dropped open. “I-I, I don’t think that is necessary Daddy, I think just you, mama, and Ace are good enough right now….we don’t need to drag Uncle Mal into this.”
Sweet Pea gave a chuckle as he took a sip of his beer. “Oh no baby girl, I’m calling all three of your uncles.”
“Dad! No, no he is already terrified to meet you. I will never get a second date if you bring Uncle Fangs and Uncle Chase into this too.”
Sweet Pea laughed. “Sorry Chick Pea. This is happening.”
“Babe, you think that is really necessary?” You tried to convince your husband out of his idea as you both watched Poppy storm out of the kitchen.
Sweet Pea looked to you a look a betrayal on his face. “You are on her side?”
You laughed pulling out a beer for yourself. “I am on nobody's side. I just think you are going overboard.”
“She is trying to date a Serpent Y/N. I won’t allow it.”
You leaned on the counter raising your brow. “Need I remind you sweets you are a serpent also I wasn’t allowed to date a serpent once, it just made me get sneaky. Want our daughter to get sneaky around us?”
Sweet Pea sighed taking another pull from his beer. “Not really...I’ll meet this boy. I am still calling all three uncles though! Nobody’s talking me out of that!”
“Okay baby you do that.”
You walked back into your bedroom leaving Sweet Pea with his thoughts of his little girl dating.
-
You walked back into the kitchen about an hour later. Fangs, Chase and Sweet Pea all at the table.
“Well hello boys.” You smiled. “How are we handling the situation? Better than Daddy over here hopefully. Also where’s Mal?”
At your words your brother walked in his bat thrown over his shoulder.
“Oh hell no Malachai. You better not be thinking of even threatening that boy with your bat. Your niece will hate you for the rest of your life.”
“She can hate me all she wants. I’ll make sure this boy knows not to mess with her.”
Poppy walked out of her bedroom, her eyes wide at all three of her uncles.
“Daaad really?” She groaned. “Jax will for sure not want to date me now. Thanks.”
“We have a name!” Fangs shouted.
“Uncle Fangs! I expected this from Dad and Uncle Mal but you…. I thought you were better than this.” Poppy shook her head as she walked out the front door waiting.
Fangs sat silent.
Sweet Pea put his hand on his shoulder. “Don’t let her guilt trip you I know you can’t say no to her, but you have to for this Fangs.”
Fangs swallowed and gave a curt nod. All four boys going tense at the sound of a bike pulling up.
“A bike... really?” Chase muttered.
“I mean he is a serpent boys, you all drive bikes.” You informed them stepping into the doorway, watching your daughter throw her arms around Jax. You watched the short peck shared between the two thankful that all four men in the house had been distracted.
You backed up into the kitchen not wanting to let Poppy know that you had seen her greeting.
-
Poppy POV
-
Poppy stopped at the front door turning once again to face Jax. “I just want to say sorry now.”
Jax placed his hands on her hips. “Baby I’ve met your dad already don’t worry.”
“I wouldn’t if it was only my dad, but he brought my uncles into this, so just be prepared… and don’t call me baby in front of any of them… they might murder you.”
Poppy took a deep breath opening the door.
“Daddy? Ma?” She hollered out trying to buy some time.
“In the kitchen baby!” Poppy heard her mom call back.
Poppy laced her hands through Jax as she led him to the kitchen. All eyes turned to the two of them in the entryway.
“Jax. This is my Mom Y/N, My dad Sweet Pea, and for some reason my uncles are here… so you probably already know Uncle Fangs, but this is Malachai, and Chase.”
“Everyone this is Jax.”
“Alright Jax take a seat.” Sweet Pea said his voice deep, gruff almost. Poppy winced. He pulled out the I can’t believe you did this I’m so mad voice.
“Yes sir.” Jax responded taking a seat.
“Where do you plan on taking my daughter?”
“To the bijou sir.”
“And at the bijou where are your hands going to be?” Fangs chimed in
“Uh to myself?” Jax answered. Watching Fangs nod.
“And if she gets cold?” Chase added.
“I give her my jacket, but still keep my hands to myself?”
Chase gave a slight nod.
“If someone messes with the two of you?”
“I’d take care of it.” Jax stated with pride at the thought of protecting Poppy. Poppy cleared her throat. “Not that she can’t handle her own. I mean I’ve been on the receiving end of a Poppy punch and I do not want to be on that side again.” He rambled.
Poppy rolled her eyes. “Are y’all done?”
“You two can go….but she is home no later than nine pm.”
“Dad are you serious the movie won’t even be over.” Poppy folded her arms across her chest looking at you for help.
“She can be home by ten thirty and if any one of these boys has an issue I’ll take care of it. Now you two be safe and have fun okay?” Y/N said shooing the two kids out of the kitchen and out the door.
All three men watched Poppy get on the back of the bike and Jax take off a few minutes going by before Sweet Pea spoke up.
“Chase you have the Jeep right?”
“Yeah Why?”
“I plan on following them but if I do it in my vehicle she’ll know.” Sweet Pea informed them.
You rolled your eyes as you watched all of them scramble to get up and get out the door.
“You better not get caught!” Y/N laughed.
Aster walked out into the kitchen watching everyone leave. “Where’s everyone going?”
“Oh your daddy and crazy uncles are tailing your sister on her date.”
Aster laughed. “Will they do that when I introduce them to Moe?”
Y/N looked to her son confused. “Whose Moe?”
“He’s a ghoulie I’m dating.”
“Wait...what?” Y/N hollered at her son as he walked away.
“Lord help me now.” Y/N mumbled as she sank into a kitchen chair. You were happy he was so open but also shocked at how it was blurted out.
All four men stopped in their tracks.
“Did he just?” Sweet Pea started.
“You guys go, I’ll talk to him.” Fangs patted Sweet Pea on the back sending him out the door.
“No I should go talk to him.” Sweet Pea tried.
“SP let me…I didn’t have someone to talk to, I get what he might be going through.”
Sweet Pea looked to Fangs. “Okay...just, please tell him I accept him”
“He knows you both do. Now quit worrying and go tail your baby girl.” Fangs all but pushed Sweet Pea out the door.
Fangs headed back towards your sons bedroom as he gave your shoulder a light squeeze.
“Calm down Mama bear, Uncle Fangs has got this.”

Seventeen Reaction To You Getting in a Car Accident
Hello Lovely's! The overwhelming vote was for a Seventeen reaction. So here you go. I hope you enjoy.
It had been one of those days. The days where you just wished that you were at home with your boyfriend resting. But no, you just had to go to work today. It started when you got your morning beverage and it spilled all over your shirt, then your boss proceeded to yell at you for accidentally deleting an important file, then it ended with you dropping your phone into the sink. Well, that what you though it ended with anyways.
You didn’t take your car to work today, because it was in the shop, so you got a taxi home. You were about five minutes away when you decided to call your boyfriend and let him know that you were almost home.
“Hey Babe! How was work today?” Asked your loving boyfriend.
“Actually, it went pretty horrible. I will tell you everything when I get home.” You responded.
“Ok. I am sorry to hear that. It it makes you feel any better we can have a movie night, and a cuddle marathon.”
“Yeah that does make me feel better. Anyways I called to let you know that.....”
Then there was a loud crash... and nothing.
S. Coups
“Baby? Are you ok? What Happened?” he said into the phone. When you didn’t respond he knew that something bad had happened. He figured that you called to tell him that you were almost home, so he immediately put his shoes on and ran out the door.
When he got to the scene, he saw them loading you onto an ambulance. He could tell that it was bad because you had paramedics all around you. He ran up to the ambulance and almost passed out. You had blood all over your body, he saw pieces of glass sticking out of your skin, and he also saw that your arm was crushed. He told the paramedics who he was and that he needed to be there with you. He got in the ambulance and gripped your good hand.
“Its ok sweetheart. I am here, and I am not leaving.”
Tumblr media
Jeonghan
“Hello? What was that?” He asked in a very shaky voice hoping that you would answer him. When you didn’t he got scared and rushed out of the house forgetting to take off his slippers.
When he got there he saw you were sitting on the curb tears running down your face. He immediately rushed over to you.
“Baby!” He shouted running full speed towards you. You looked up when you heard him and started running at him as well. You met in the middle gripping onto each other for dear life. “ Don’t ever scare me like that again. I don’t know what I would do if I loose you.” He said running one had through your hair, the other gripping your shirt so tightly that his hands were shaking. He saw that you had bandages on various parts of your body, and that one of your arms was in a sling. He had immediately felt rage for the person who hit your car, but calmed down once he heard you crying and gripping onto him harder than he was to you.
You couldn’t say anything because you were sobbing so hard, but the both of you knew that you were not letting go of each other anytime soon, or maybe ever again.
Tumblr media
Joshua
When Joshua heard the phone cut off, he was frozen with fear. He knew that he had to go and see what happened, and if you were ok, but he just couldn’t move. When one of his members shouted at him he finally came around. He rushed out the door not listening to the others shouting at him asking what happened. He knew that he had to get to you. When he finally did, he saw that you were sitting in an ambulance and they were treating you. He ran over and assessed the damage. He saw firefighters extinguishing the taxi, which caught on fire in the accident. He then looked at you and saw that you had burns on your face, arms, and stomach.
“Oh jagi, I am so so sorry.” He was speechless. He knew that probably nothing he would say right now would comfort you. He just climbed into the ambulance and grabbed your hand that wasn’t burned. He knew that this was going to be a long and hard recovery, but he was going to be there with you through every step of the way. He was not leaving.
Tumblr media
Jun
“Hello? Baby? What happened?” He asked into the phone hoping that he was just hearing things.
“We just got into a car accident.” You whispered back. Thankfully it wasn’t that bad just a fender bender, but you knew that you were going to have to go to the hospital to get stitches. You hit your head on the seat in front of you, hard, and got a gash on your forehead, and probably a concussion. “I am going to have to go to the hospital to get checked out.” You told him.
“Ok. I am on my way. I love you.” He said already starting to put on his shoes and his coat. You were the most important thing in his world, and he was terrified that something bad happened, but hearing you talk to him calmed him down significantly. He would do any and everything for you.
   “I love you too.”
Tumblr media
Hoshi
Soonyoung was terrified. He heard that loud crash, then heard the phone cut off, and he thought that you were dead. He was the most terrified that he had ever been in his entire life. He knew he had to get to you, now. He ran out of practice and to where you were. What he saw terrified him even more.
“Soonie, baby it hurts” was all that you were able to say before you passed out. He saw that you had been flown through the windshield, had glass all over you, and your leg was caught in the glass. He immediately rushed into action calling for help, he got there before the paramedics did, he ran to you and started to try and get you to wake up. He knew that it would be stupid to try and move you, and it would probably hurt you even more, so he gripped one of your hands, and ran his other through your hair. he then whispered in your ears.
“I know it hurts my love, but you cannot die, because if you die then so do i. I need you here with me. You are my everything. Please don’t die.”
Tumblr media
Wonwoo
As soon as Wonwoo heard that crash, he was out of the building and on his way to you. You already had a concussion because you are a gymnast and landed wrong during an event, and he knew that if you hit your head it could give you permanent brain damage. When he got there he saw you standing and talking to a police officer. He also saw that you had some blood on your head. He started to walk over to you when he saw your eyes roll back in your head and you falling. He got there just in time to catch you. He told the paramedics that you already had an injury. They immediately took you to the hospital. Wonwoo was with you the entire time.
“Don’t you dare leave me. Our story is not finished yet. If you leave me I will die, so you cannot leave me.
Tumblr media
Woozi
“Hey, Y/N are you ok?” He asked into the phone. When he didn’t hear a reply just silence he got scared. He called you again to see if your phone just shut off, not believing the scenarios going through is head. When you picked up he was so relieved.
“Yeobo are you ok? What happened? Do I need to...” he rushed out until you interrupted him.
“Hey I am ok. We just got into a small accident. I think that I broke my leg so I am going to go and get it checked out at the hospital.” You told him calmly, not that that really comforted him any.
“Ok. I am on my way now. Please don’t get hurt anywhere else. I hate it when you get hurt because it hurts me that you are in pain and i really can’t do anything to help you. I love you. Stay safe, I will be there soon.”
Tumblr media
DK
Seokmin’s heart dropped. He was just talking to you and now he hears a crash and can’t get a-hold of you. He knew that this probably meant something bad, but he didn’t want to believe it. He put on his coat and shoes getting ready to go and find out what happened, when he gets a phone call.
“Hello? Y/N? Are you ok?” He rushed to ask you.
“Hello sir. This is not Y/N, but I am calling about her. She is currently in the hospital. She was in a car crash. She is in surgery right now to repair some internal bleeding that happened because of the accident. I see that you are down as her emergency contact. Could you please come to the hosp;ital right away?” His whole world stopped. He said yes to the doctor, but he felt like he was going to pass out. He knew that he had to get to the hospital right away because it sounded serious. He just hoped that you were ok.
“Hang on Y/N I am on my way.”
Tumblr media
Mingyu
Mingyu grabbed his coat and threw on his shoes and left. He doesn’t know what happened completely, but what he does know is that he was on the phone with you, then he heard a loud bang. You are his main priority, and he is going to make sure that you are ok. When he got to the scene he immediately spotted you sitting in the ambulance crying. He rushed over to you and pulled you into his arms.
“Oh my love, are you ok?” He asked into your hair. He had you in his arms and he never want to let go of you.
“I am ok for the most part. They think that I probably have a Concussion and I am going to have to get stitches.”
After you said that to him he was relieved, yes that was still not good, but he was expecting you to be dead when he got there.
“I love you so much. Don’t ever scare me like that ever again.”
Tumblr media
The8
“Babe?” He asked into the phone aster he heard the huge crash.
“I’m ok. We just got into a car accident. I can’t get out though my leg is stuck. Can you come?” After you finished asking the question you heard the car start.
“I am on my way babe, its ok. I will be there soon.” He said to you then hung up.
He knew that you were acting brave for him, you did it all the time when things got scary. He knows that he has to get to you soon, otherwise you will have a panic attack. When he arrived he ran straight over to you. The paramedics had already extracted you. He pulled you into his arms. He felt you grip onto him and start to sob.
“Its ok my love. I am here.”
Tumblr media
Seungkwan
As soon as Seungkwan heard the crash he was out the door. You had been in two car accidents before and he knew that you panicked every time. He rushed as fast as he could to get to the scene of the crash. He got there before the paramedics did and se saw you rocking yourself on the pavement.
“Jagiya its ok. I am right here.” He said as he slowly got closer to you. Once you gave him the ok he pulled you right into his arms. He wrapped one arm around your waist and the other was stroking your hair. He knows that this was a traumatic experience for you, and he was prepared to stick right by your side through his entire recovery. He felt and heard you sobbing in his arms and he knew better than to shush you. “Just let it out baby. I am right here, and I am not going to go anywhere.”
(I couldn’t really find a gif, so just pretend that he is hugging you.)
Tumblr media
Vernon
He slowly pulled the phone away from his ear. It was like everything was in slow motion. He felt his heart beating out of his chest, but for some reason it felt like he couldn’t move. He heard the boys yelling, but he couldn’t respond to them, he was too far in his head. He stayed like that for several minutes much to his members worries. Then he heard his phone ring, and he snapped back into action.
  “Hello? Y/N? Is that you?”
“Hello sir, unfortunately it is not. I am currently calling from the hospital. Your partner Y/N had been admitted to our hospital following a car crash. She is ok for the most part, but she has a bad fracture in her leg. We have to perform surgery to repair it. Can you please come down to the hospital?” Asked the person on the phone who was apparently a doctor.
“Of course i will be there soon. Tell Y/N to wait for me.”
Tumblr media
Dino
As soon as the phone call cut off, he was out of the room and running to you. This was Chan’s first real relationship and he was so scarred that something was going to happen to you. When he got there he was relieved to see you sitting in the ambulance with a blanket around you getting checked out by the paramedics. He waited patiently(not really) until the paramedics had finished their examination., The moment they did, he was pulling you against his chest and wrapping his arms around your back.
“Y/N I love you, you cant scare me like this. I felt like I was going to die.” He told you asking if something was wrong. Luckily all that was wrong was a sprained wrist and a few cuts that you had to get stitches, nothing major. “Thank god, if something bad happened to you, i don’t know what I would have done.”

_________________________________________________________
"Come on dad!"
"No and this is the last time we discuss this matter!"
"Why can't I go out and explore your planet's dance clubs?" I asked.
"Because 1, they sell alcohol there. 2, they've gotten crazier than I last remember, 3, you are TOO young. And 4, because I said so". Grrr. Okay let's pause this conversation for introductions, my name is (y/n) Quill daughter of the self-proclaimed Star Lord Peter Quill, self-proclaimed hero of the Guardians of the Galaxy. After saving Xandar we explored other galaxies and other planets saving them, robbing them, bit of both at times but right now we decided to just simply take a vacation and dad thought it'd be a great idea to go back to his home planet of Earth for a little visit, see how much it changed since he was taken by Yondu and the Ravagers.
After about a week we've been here, I started to get bored out of my mind that was until I heard a couple of kids my age going to club party downtown. So I asked my dad if I could go and he said no and well you know the rest.
"You really hate me don't you?"
"I do not hate you. I just don't trust with the way people act around now a days. This isn't like back in the 80's when dancing didn't involve sexual touching or impregnating someone. I just want my baby girl safe and not pregnant".
"I can take care of myself dad, Gamora taught me how to break a man's arm with just my thighs".
"And I'll always be grateful to that, but my answer is still no. Now we're gonna get some more supplies and leave first thing in the morning for Knowhere, I received a transmission from Cosmo about a problem they're having". My dad then walked away leaving me alone in my room pouting.
Once, just once I'd like to do something fun that's not just stealing from everyone or saving the galaxy I mean don't get me wrong I like that stuff but it gets boring when you do it every single day in an endless cycle. So I decided that if I wasn't going to get permission to go the party downtown, I was gonna have to sneak out.
I waited till nightfall when the team and I would be gathering supplies plus other stuff that we wanted from Earth to take with us. And when I placed in my new "laptop" into my room I then ran into my dad and said.
"Hey dad, I happened to have seen this really rare vintage guitar and I really, really wanna buy it so can I? Please?"
"Alright but be back in an hour and a half, we'll be leaving by then okay?" I ran off but my dad stopped me by saying, "hey hold on!" He ran up to me and hugged me tightly and said, "I love you yah little monster"
"I love you too yah big dork, now can I please go the shop's about to close".
"Okay, okay go on then. And watch out for gangs and muggers on the streets!" He called out to me as I ran onwards but I wasn't going to the music store.
When I got downtown and saw the club bursting with life and sound, my heart raced with anxiety but mostly excitement, my first real human party with no aliens and no father to breathe down my neck. I entered inside when a guy in all black stopped me and said.
"ID kid?"
"Ahh yes here you go," I showed him my special psychic paper that even though it would appear blank before me, to anyone else it could show anything I wanted to so I was indeed a normal Earth being and some freak who appears human but whose baby mama was an alien model for "Space-Vogue".
"Alright step on in". He said as he moved to the side and handed me back my psychic paper. I kissed it and said.
"Oh thank you Captain". I slip my wallet back into my pants pocket and took in all the clubbing scene. Everyone was dancing, jumping up and down, flashy lights everywhere, music booming and vibrating off the walls and all around me were laughs and loud talking.
I tried to make my way through the crowd when I took notice the group of teens from earlier and one of the boys of the group was looking right at me and I gotta admit he was pretty cute for a Terran. He came up to me and said.
"Hey there".
"Hello". I said.
"I don't think I've seen you around before? I mean I'd recognize a beautiful face such as yours anywhere". I lightly blushed and said.
"Just a visitor passing by, my dad doesn't really know that I'm here".
"Ahh you snuck out too huh? Yeah my friends and I did that too, come on let me introduce you uhh—"
"(Y/n)".
"Beautiful name for a beautiful girl, name's (b/n) come on I'll introduce you". He wrapped his arm around my back and guided me towards his group of friends. We all talked and chatted away and danced some when (b/n) came in with a bottle of scotch and his friends all began cheering. "Come on (y/n) what you haven't drank before?"
"Oh yeah I've done it before, lots of times, I even once beat both my uncle Drax and Rocket into a drinking competition, but it was with stuff a whole lot stronger. But I promised my dad I wasn't going to do it anymore, he grounded me for 6 months".
"Well what your old man won't know, won't hurt him". He handed me a shot glass of scotch and one of the girls cheered me on.
"Come on (y/n)! Live it up!" Soon everyone started cheering me on and I looked to (b/n) and smirked at him.
Meanwhile back at the Milano, Peter was pacing frantically as he said.
"It's been hours already. Where could she be?"
"Take it easy Peter, I'm sure she's fine" Gamora stated.
"How the hell can you be so calm about this Gamora?!"
"More importantly how have you not fallen down from the floor already Quill? You've been pacing in the same circle for over 2 hours now" Rocket said as he was admiring his huge and I mean HUGE sack of duct-tape he had "gotten". A fiddle was heard at the door and the Guardians all looked at each other worriedly only they knew where they were staying at and the people at the desk swore they'd keep it hush-hush.
"Okay everyone stay here, I'll see who it is". Peter walked up to the door with his blaster ready to fire but when he opened it he saw me on the floor.
"Hey! You got the door open dad!" I exasperated happily.
"Excuse me sir is she your daughter?" A male officer asked as he helped balance me along with a female cop.
"Yes she is, is there a problem officer?"
"We caught her and a bunch of other teenagers drinking at a club downtown. They then proceeded to cause a rumble to happen outside the club. Now given the fact that she wasn't near the fight and just wandering the streets drunk we brought her home here. No charges will be put in her name". The female officer said.
"Thank you officers, thank you" my dad stated trying to keep his calm and not blow his top. "Okay sweetheart come here" my dad then picked me up and I went "wee!" "Have a goodnight officers and thanks again and I am terribly sorry for all the fuss".
"No worries, just be sure to keep your girl under radar, next time we may not be so forgiving about it" the male officer said then the two of them left.
My dad walked me back inside and dropped me into the couch making me bounce a bit into the air.
"Wow! Bouncy, bouncy. Very bouncy".
"(Y/n) (m/n) Quill do have any idea how worried sick I was!?"
"Shhhh, don't tell dad this but—tee-hee I snuck out to go to that party downtown".
"No really I had no idea!?" My dad spat out sarcastically!
"Shhhh I told you to keep it down" soon I passed out from all the scotch. My dad shook his head and threw me over his shoulder and said to the other Guardians.
"We're leaving. Now!" No one dared test Peter because none of them had seen him this mad since the first time I drank behind his back. They went to the roof of the hotel and Rocket unmasked the Milano and we all boarded inside and dad set me on my bed and went back to the control room. "Gamora you take first watch over (y/n), Rocket and Groot you'll take the second and Drax you take the third. If she wakes up during any of your shifts call me immediately". Dad demanded sternly.
"And what are you going to do while we watch over your daughter?" asked Drax.
"I'm preparing my beyond grounded till the end of the galaxy speech!" Dad then punched the gears and the Milano then took off out into the atmosphere.
I woke up to a massive hangover. My head pouncing hardly like I had ran into a steal wall leaped into the air and dove down head first on top of the Dark Aster. My eyes flinched and I heard my dad say.
"Rise and shine sleepyhead!" I groaned in agony and whispered.
"Do you have to be so loud?"
"Let me think oh umm—YES!!" I cried out in pain and said.
"What is wrong with you? I have a hangover and this is how you take care of your own daughter?"
"Well my daughter wouldn't have disobeyed me and gone to that party and get involved with other underage drinkers and almost get involved in their fight! You're lucky when you get drunk you get all loopy and giddy!" My dad then placed a water and a pill down for me and I took it and groaned in pain. "So, start talking. Why'd you do it?"
"Why do you care?" I snapped.
"Because my daughter went behind my back and I wanna know why!?"
"Fine you wanna know!? I'm sick and tired of doing the same damn thing over and over again. We save the day, we steal stuff, we go to parties. You over my neck! I'm not a little kid anymore dad! If I wanted to go dancing and have a couple of drinks with new friends I can do that!"
"Not if those so called friends get into fights when they've had one too many!"
"It's my life dad! Stop trying to control me!"
"I'm sorry. My sister DIED because of a drunk driver! I wasn't going to allow my little girl to suffer the same fate!" Dad choked out with tears in his eyes. My anger diminished and I just looked at him in shock. Dad then tried to say something but he as too upset to even speak as he sat down at one of my chairs. I slowly walked up to him and sat down beside him and said softly.
"I didn't know you had a sister".
"Older sister by 8 years. Oh man (y/n) she was my bestest friend, she did everything for me, and she was there when your grandmother was—well you know".
"What happened to her?" My dad sighed deeply and proceeded to tell me.
"I thought that forgetting about it would make the pain easier, but sadly time doesn't heal all wounds. She was on her way home from a school dance. She had gotten asked out to prom, I was staying with my grandpa at the time cause me mom was still being processed if she had cancer or not. She was almost home like by five minutes when this asshole ran a stop sign and T-boned my sister's car. She died almost instantly in the crash. I was devastated, I had lost the only real friend I ever had and my role model. I looked up to her for everything, and even though we'd mess around with each other I loved her and she loved me. And looking at you, you remind me of her in every way". I smiled softly as dad ruffled my hair gently.
"I'm sorry daddy. I just wanted to try something different and just be free for once. But I guess I'm not really ready, am I?"
"You've grown up so fast I just can't help but think of that baby girl wrapped in pink. And when I blink you're suddenly all grown up like you are now. Kick-ass and all". We both smiled and I said.
"Whatever punishment you have I'll take it, I deserve it. I was selfish and I lied to you".
"Ehhh, how about I let this one slide? After all I did way more stupider stuff than you did when I was your age. Like father, like daughter as I used to hear back when I lived on Earth". He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and brought me into a sideways hug. "I love you (y/n)".
"I love you too daddy". I whispered as I leaned into my father's chest listening to his heartbeat lull me back to sleep.
