ARN One shot- On Set
Tumblr media
Description: Y/n L/n on set of her new music video and Travis is on set.
ARN Series Masterlist Regular Masterlist
I sit in the makeup chair in the trailer on the new music video set for my song “Yes and”. I have been scrolling through TikTok, liking and reposting some of the fan's edits and videos. My attention is drawn away from my phone as the makeup and hairstylist start to ask me questions.
After finally getting ready I start the walk to the set, The crew and I run through some choreography before everyone gets into position and start to film some of the music video.
As we near the end of the music video, I look up to Travis recording me a little while smiling and hyping me up, I didn't even know he was coming today. Me and the dancers finish the last dance move before the director yells cut and the crew break out into applause.
I laugh and clap my hands before thanking all the dancers and camera crew. I walk over to Trav before I jump into his arms, He circles his arms around my waist keeping up on him while slightly jostling me side-to-side and kissing the side of my cheek repeatedly.
He puts me back down onto my feet still holding onto me, not knowing this movement is being recorded by a friend of Travis who stands off to the side.
“That was amazing baby” he smiles, leaning down kissing me softly while brushing my hair back. I smile while giving into the kiss. “Thank you, I was so nervous, I didn’t think I’d be able to do the dance with them” I laughed.
Travis walks with me to the trailer outside and we greet a few fans that found out we were here. We enter the trailer and I get dressed into my comfier clothes that hide my growing bump, taking off my makeup and I decide to leave my hair in the curls the stylist did.
Travis and I walk hand in hand out the trailer to see even more fans figured out where we were. Trav guides me through the fans and the paps as we finally get into the car. I huff when I sit down “jeez, It always feels like an exercise when trying to get through them” I tell Trav.
He nods giving out a huff while reversing the car to the roads “Yeah tell me about it, I’m about down with them trying to almost run my pregnant wife over” I smile at his protective behavior. I reach over the consel and take his hand, gently kissing it before placing it on my stomach.
“Your daughter thanks you for making sure she is staying safe” I move his hand around my stomach a few times as she moves around in there. His head turns towards me giving me a gentle smile and rubbing his hand more along my bump, again not knowing we are being recorded by the car next to us that is filled with fans.
We pull into the driveway of our home, we head in and decided to take a bath together before settling into our matching pjs and plopping ourselves on the couch with my latest graving, Pizza, The movie finishes up and we chill on our phones, with me leaning against Travis.
I scroll on tiktok before seeing a video of me from today pop up.  I shoot up (well as best I can while pregnant) Whoever took the video took a video so clear you can see Trav rubbing my stomach, I go to twitter to see my name listed number one on trending, I click my name and see even more videos of us, there is one of us on set and since me and Trav were facing sideways you can clearly see my bump. I finally break out of my trance by Travis nudging me trying to get my attention. I look up at him with unshed tears in my eyes “baby? What’s wrong? What happened?” he asks me.
I hand my phone over and watch his eyes glaze over in anger “what the hell? Who the hell took these videos!” Travis stands, grabbing his phone and starting to make phone calls. I sit back onto the couch and bundle myself while watching Travis pace back and forth on the phone trying to figure it out.
After almost thirty minutes of him doing that, I unbundle myself and stand to take his phone and ending the phone call. Travis looks at me shocked “why’d you do that? I’m trying to get answers.” he still has a little bit of anger still based off his tone towards me. “Don’t give me an attitude, How about instead of us being angry and trying to hound whoever posted the videos, we just embrace this and we make our own post about her instead?” I suggest to him.
Travis think sit over before nodding softly while sitting on the edge of the couch, he reaches over and grabs me by my waist and laying both hands and his head on the bump, tracing soft circles of her.
“It just sucks, we weren't able to do it on our terms, you know?” he says softly. I nod while slightly brushing his head with my hands “I know, but we need to have a better mindset about this, even though I so badly want to throw a brick out of a window” We both break out into laughter by the last part of my statement.
I place my hands on his shoulders, lightly pushing him “come on, let’s go announce our daughter to the world.” we laugh together before making our way to go take some pictures.

Sweden’s biggest, controversial endangered wolf cull has started but campaigners fight on
February 2023 - Hunters have already shot dead 54 wolves in Sweden’s largest ever cull, while scientists warn that wolf numbers are not large enough to sustain a healthy population
Hunters have shot dead 54 wolves in a month in Sweden’s largest and most controversial cull of the animals yet, prompting fury from conservationists and satisfaction among farmers who consider the predators a threat to their livelihoods.
The Stockholm government has authorised the shooting of 75 wolves in its 2023 cull, more than twice last year’s figure, despite warnings from scientists that wolf numbers are not large enough to sustain a healthy population.
“Wolves are a threat for those of us who live in rural areas,” said Kjell-Arne Ottosson, a Christian Democrat MP and vice-president of the parliament’s environment and agriculture committee. “We have to manage that. We have to take this seriously.”
Farmers say more than 340 sheep were killed in 2021 by a Swedish wolf population estimated at about 460. The predators, which in the 1960s were thought to be extinct in Sweden, are also resented by hunters, who say the dogs they use to track and drive deer and elk are regularly attacked.
“This cull is absolutely necessary to slow the growth of wolves. Sweden’s wolf population is the largest we have had in modern times,” Gunnar Glöersen, predator manager at the Swedish Hunters’ Association, told public broadcaster SVT.
However, the scale of this year’s planned cull – only 203 wolves have been shot in total in Sweden in the 12 years since authorised hunting resumed – has alarmed conservationists. “It’s tragic,” said Daniel Ekblom of the Nature Conservation Society. “It could have consequences for a long time to come.”
Scientists have said that to sustain a healthy population, the wolf population roaming Sweden and Finland should not fall below 500, and Sweden’s Environmental Protection Agency has said at least 300 are necessary to avoid harmful inbreeding.
Led by centre- and far-right parties, however, Sweden’s parliament voted two years ago to cap the wolf population at 270, while the Swedish Hunters’ Association wants to go even further and lower the limit to 150 animals.
Wolf numbers fell steeply in Sweden after 1789, when a law was passed allowing commoners to hunt. That led to the decimation of the deer and elk populations, prompting wolves to prey more on livestock – and the state to pay a bounty for every wolf killed.
The population shrank to the brink of extinction and the predator was declared a protected species in the 1960s. Numbers began growing again 20 years later, however, when three wolves from the Russian-Finnish population migrated to central Sweden.
Conservation organizations in the country have attempted to overturn the wolf hunting mandate but have been unsuccessful.
Groups used the Bern Convention as their main argument. An international treaty agreed upon in 1979, the convention seeks to protect both wildlife and their habitats. Actions to do so are taken in the name of conservation.
“Wolves as top predators in the food chain are a prerequisite for biodiversity. Killing a quarter of the population through hunting has negative consequences for animals and nature,” Marie Stegard, president of Swedish anti-hunting group Jaktkritikerna told the Guardian.
“It’s disastrous for the entire ecosystem. The existence of wolves contributes to a richer animal and plant life. Human survival depends on healthy ecosystems.”
The European Commission has previously opened infringement proceedings against Sweden, warning that the annual cull falls foul of the EU’s habitats directive since “the wolf population has not reached a level that guarantees its conservation”.
“It’s astonishing that Sweden keeps on making these decisions,” said Marie Stegard Lind of the anti-hunting group Jaktkritikerna. “The commission has been very clear about its opinion that these hunts are, in fact, illegal,” Lind told AFP.
This year’s cull began in early January and ends on 15 February, although several regional authorities have already called it off having reached their quota. Experts have said the government’s planned national total of 75 wolves may not be reached.
Under pressure from farmers and hunters, the government authorised limited annual culls again in 2010. Since then, the wolf “has become a symbol of the conflict between the city and rural areas”, Johanna Sandahl of the Nature Conservation Society told AFP.

Hannibal AU because my lastlast post was liked by one person and now I'm obligated to show it off
An excerpt from my fanfic where Will is a girl, a psychiatrist (and something else), cooperates with the FBI, wears dark glasses to quietly glare at everyone.
Hannibal is two or three years into BSHCI.
Will is about 25, Hannibal about 33.
Again, writing through a translator, if something translated badly, don't be sad.
Enjoy
"The right of exclusivity of the kindness. I see what you want."
Hannibal was distracted from erecting the walls of the Sistine Chapel on the sheet in front of him. A quick glance in Will's direction was correctly interpreted as a request to continue.
"You want my good, attention, interest in private. You long to remain the only speck of light." Hannibal watched Will spread out the papers on the table in front of the cell. He seemed to recognize Randall's work. Such an ambitious, lively, but utterly sloppy subject.
All the sheets fell into place. Barimore Howard, Randall Tirr, Arne Palertin, Travis Tesvair, Francis Dolarhyde.
All of his former patients.
In the last five years.
Considering he'd started his official practice five years by the time he'd been locked up... The fact that the potential of so many of his patients turned out to be free (at least for a fraction of what was possible) was gratifying. Animal rage pulsed beneath their skin, hidden in a vain attempt to be duller than they were at their core. Even though they'd been caught up in the outcome, Hannibal knew the real number of people he'd helped with self-acceptance before and after BSHCI.
He raised charcoal gaze to the doctor's. Will watched his attempt to hide his pleasure with a frown.
"In a world of people sorted second-rate from tolerable to vile, you see yourself as the primate of consciousness."
"Trampling on my view of the world or your view of me?"
"Don't."
Will put her hands in the pockets of her sweatpants. Hannibal waited for whatever it was. Today she felt more excited than ever. Despite the control over her body that was clearly held by her, Will's mind was not with him.
She sighed:
"You asked for a job." Hannibal hummed. Will raised an eyebrow, her pupils (if the glare from the lamps hadn't thrown off his perception) narrowed behind the glasses. "Asked." she nailed it. Will walked around the table, turning to face him.
"What can you say about them?"
In the second it took Hannibal to decide between "About the pictures?" and "Depends on what you want to hear," Will cast him an eloquent glance. Amazing ability to burn a hole with her gaze through her dark glasses. Hannibal almost twitched his cheek, smelling the unfurled scent of darkness behind the glass of the cell.
"I know they're all former patients of yours. I don't need to form a charge to throw a couple dozen on your sentence and change the conditions of confinement a bit, it would be enough to slip a hunch to our mutual acquaintance." she touched a finger to her right shoulder, clarifying." So I won't pretend I don't know who influenced them, and you won't stall."
"Threats. Again. Did you not sleep well?"
"Deadly."
Given her nightmares, Hannibal had no doubt the dream really could have been a dead one.
They looked at each other. It was as if the glass hadn't even been there. Will bowed her head. An unruly curl fell across her forehead, brushing her cheek. Soft carpet pad the austere monolith of her marble skin. His gaze traveled farther, to where the long grace of her neck was hidden behind the thick material of a dark hoodie.
She quietly gave him some time, for a closer look, watching the curve of his gaze.
"Hannibal."
A patient reminder of her unquenched anticipation.
Hannibal's gaze remained on her lips.
"I believe that the similar is drawn to the similar and greater. The strong to the strongest." He said.

Most Beloved WWE Wrestlers Tournament: Round 4 Statistics Dump
Followers: 266
Total Votes: 22,087 + 13,398 + 8,109 + 4,768 = 48,362
Number of times I had to force my dad to accept the fact that it's no longer the 80s and just because he enjoyed a wrestler's work during his childhood, it doesn't mean they're still the most beloved: 3, and he's still bitter
Beloved By Gender:
Our ratio is keeping pretty steady. There was a change of 2% between rounds 3 and 4 in favor of the female wrestlers.
Tumblr media
Voting Trends:
Round 4 had a low vote count day of 534 and the highest count day of 747, making the average 636.9 votes per day (discounting final day), more than extra 80 votes per day beyond Round 3’s average of 550.8
(Keep in mind, number of brackets change on the final day)
Tumblr media
Public Opinion:
There's fewer than 20 wrestlers left in this tournament who had successful WWE careers before the 2000s. This tournament would make Cornette's face melt off

The AJ Styles Phenomenon:
I don't know if this is just an incredible coincidence, but for the final 3 rounds, AJ Styles has earned exactly 46 votes. In Round 2, it was 46/50 against Raymond Rougeau. In Round 3, 46/56 against D'Lo Brown. In Round 4, 46/69 against Kane. Based on the data I've seen, he is the only wrestler this has happened to. A few have had the same number of votes twice in a row, but never thrice.
Which begs the question: are there exactly 46 tumblr users who are fans of AJ Styles?

AI-less Whumptober Day 6: Mind Control
Masterlist
TW: fae whumper, human whumpee, mind control, captivity, a bit o' pet whump
---
Arne rose to consciousness slowly, as if he were wading through a thick pool of mud. Darkness seemed to cling to him, reluctant to let him go from its grasps. His memory was hazy, his thoughts indecipherable, his mind resistant to awareness.
Vaguely, he could tell his head was lying on something soft, a thick, fluffy pillow. Had he overslept again? If he was late again, he could very well lose his work. And then how could he take care of his family?
That thought sent his eyes wide open, his body bolting upright in the large canopy bed he found himself in.
Blinking groggily, Arne frowned, looking around. What was he doing here? And where exactly was ‘here’?
He found himself in a large, elegant bedroom. The head of his bed was pressed against the middle of one wall, a large vanity with a gilded mirror and ornately carved backless chair was on the wall opposite him, a couch that seemed to be made of velvet was pressed against another wall, with a bookcase filled with leather-bound tomes next to it. There were three separate doors that Arne could see: one was on the same wall with the couch that appeared to lead into a washroom, if the white marble and claw-foot tub were any indication, one was opposite that door and it seemed to be a small balcony, the door cracked open slightly allowing sunlight to filter in as gauzy curtains swayed slightly from the breeze. The final door was the only one that was closed and it was made of a rich, dark wood with golden gilding marking out intricate designs.
As he looked around, Arne wracked his brain for what could have possibly led him here. He remembered the woods, attempting to hunt, his bounty being pitifully small.
The doe.
That golden-haired stranger.
Ikalos.
Eyes widening and throat constricting, Arne rapidly scrambled out of the bed, struggling to get out due to the number of sheets and blankets atop him and the thick mattress sinking beneath his weight. Finally, he made it to the edge, all but tumbling out.
As he stood on shaking legs, Arne noticed that his clothes had been… replaced? Although he was not sure that what he was currently wearing could even be considered clothing. A thin white shift hung on his bony frame, with a wide neckline, showing his protruding collarbones, and ending a little above his knees. His feet were bare.
As Arne looked around, bewildered, the glint of the door handle turning caught his eyes, and he scrambled back against the far wall, imagining he did not look unlike that doe that he had shot.
The door swung open on silent hinges, and the sunlight reflected off that golden hair as Ikalos stepped inside, smoothly shutting the door behind him.
Arne stiffened, distrust evident in his eyes. “Where am I? What did you do to me?”
Ikalos let out a low chuckle, the sound sending goosebumps down Arne’s spine. “Relax, my dear,” he said, in that same strange lilt. “All will be answered in due time. Please, don’t worry yourself over such trivial matters.” He glided forward, until he was only inches away from Arne, who felt his back straightening almost impossibly more. Ikalos raised a single hand, his fingers unnaturally long and thin, and gently rubbed in between Arne’s eyebrows with two fingers. “You’ll give yourself wrinkles if you keep frowning like that. And you’re such a young beauty too, it would be a shame to throw that away prematurely.”
“Please,” Arne said softly, weakly. “Just let me go. I- I don’t have anything valuable, I’m not worth this sort of effort. Please, just let me go home.”
Ikalos moved his hand downward, so that he was cupping Arne’s cheek softly, rubbing circles with his thumb in what was presumably a comforting manner. “Oh, my dear, you are truly something valuable. You are most definitely worth this effort, and more. And now, my sweet free bird, that I’ve caught you, you won’t be going anywhere for quite some time.”
Shaking his head slightly, Arne shifted, futilely trying to put space in between them. “Why are you doing this?” he asked, his voice a hoarse whisper.
Chuckling softly, Ikalos dropped his hand and took a step back. “Why?” he repeated, arching a brow. “Because I could. Because I wanted to. Because I was bored and you, oh, you just looked so… delectable, out there in the forest.”
Arne’s breath caught in his throat, and he desperately lashed out, shoving Ikalos away with all his strength before making a mad dash towards the balcony door.
He wasn’t quite sure what he was planning to do, once he got there. Maybe he could jump, if he wasn’t too high up. Anything was better than being trapped against the wall with that, that creature.
Behind him, Ikalos straightened, running a hand down the imperceptible wrinkles in his clothing. “Arne,” he called, voice shifting, “Arne, stop.”
Midstep, Arne’s body did as commanded and froze, leaving him stuck with one foot hanging in the air and both his hands stretched out wide to the side. All Arne could do was dart his eyes frantically around as his chest heaved.
Soft, smooth footsteps warned him of Ikalos’ approach, but he was utterly helpless, unable to move in even the slightest way.
As Ikalos stood in front of him, Arne could tell there was something different about him. Everything about him just seemed… sharper, somehow. Arne couldn’t really explain it. Most notably, though, was the way his golden irises seemed to be liquid, shifting and spilling over within itself. Arne highly suspected that if he were capable of movement right now, his legs would most likely give out from under him, pure fear soaking into his bones.
Ikalos clicked his tongue, shaking his head in faux disappointment. “Tsk, tsk, Arne. I thought you were smarter than that. How stupid are you, that you thought you could outrun me?”
Arne felt tears swelling in his eyes, causing him to blink hastily, which only sent salty droplets dripping down his face. His tongue felt as though it had an anvil pressing down on it, rendering him mute.
Ikalos ran a light hand through Arne’s hair, in a mockery of comfort. “You really are just another stupid, pathetic human, aren’t you?” His grip turned cruel as he fisted a chunk of Arne’s hair, bending his head at a near-painful angle. “Aren’t you so fortunate to have someone as kind as me to take care of you? Aren’t you?”
Arne could only stare up into those otherworldly golden eyes, tears continuing to pour down his face.
Ikalos wrenched his head to the side. “Aren’t you?!” he repeated. “Thank me! Now!”
All of a sudden, Arne’s tongue felt as if it were light as a cloud, but before he could control it, his mouth was already moving. “Thank you, Ikalos, for taking care of me.” His voice sounded strange to his own ears, lifeless and dull, no inflection in it.
Ikalos rolled his eyes in disgust before tossing Arne carelessly away from him, sending him tumbling into the corner, knocking the breath out of him and leaving him sprawled out on the floor, gasping heavily. “You may move again,” Ikalos said, almost bored, and with his words, Arne’s body came back under his control, and he curled up into the fetal position, staring up at the creature before him with loathing burning in his eyes.
Squatting before him, Ikalos chuckled, roughly petting his head, only frowning when Arne flinched away from him. “Pet, you are not allowed to move away from me.” He sighed. “I really ought to start training you right away, shouldn’t I?” He smiled down at Arne, who had frozen at the command, although this time, he could tell it was from his own will, not from the otherworldly compulsion Ikalos appeared to possess.
Swallowing, Arne looked up at him, relieved to see his eyes had returned to their normal appearance, no more swirling gold in them. “Please,” he begged, allowing all the desperation and fear he had to shine through. “Please, sir, good sir, just let me go. I will pay whatever ransom you desire. I will do whatever you request of me, just allow me to lea-”
His words were abruptly cut off as a painful slap sent his head cracking to the side, causing his neck to immediately begin to ache. A throbbing, burning pain flooded his cheek, slowly traveling to encompass his whole face. He gasped, reaching up one hand to cup his beet-red skin, eyes once again flooding with tears. As if nothing had happened, Ikalos resumed his methodical stroking of Arne’s hair. “Aw, pet,” he said condescendingly. “You’re mine now. There’s nothing that will cause me to let you go. You are mine.”

During their lifetime Arne Jacobsen and Paul Kjaerholm (1929-80) were seen as antagonists but they both introduced new forms and materials to Danish design. Kjaerholm in particular through his almost exclusive use of steel created sleek and restrained pieces of furniture. His preference for steel is all the more surprising as Kjaerholm was a trained carpenter who also attended the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen.
From the mid-1950s on he developed a range of plywood furniture for his friend Ejvind Kold Christiansen but in parallel he also turned to steel as a medium to realize furniture that sounds out the relationship between body, materials and space.
How these designs came about, what inspired Kjaerholm and what he sought to achieve with his design are questions answered in the present monograph: „Paul Kjaerholm“, edited by Christoffer Harlang and published by Arkitektens Forlag in 1999. Besides offering very interesting insights into the work of the designer, mostly documented in beautiful photographs by Keld Helmer-Petersen, the book also sheds light on Kjaerholm the architect who accounts for a number of stunning exhibition designs. Beyond that the monograph also contains a list of the master’s work that is handy for quick referencing. A wonderful book that is as informative and insightful as it is beautiful. Highly recommended!

Happy Birthday! Been reading TMK for a while and really enjoying it, have you ever shared what inspired the story?
I'm not sure I have, actually, if only because it's not very interesting lol.
A long time ago, I used to play on a lot of rpg forums (where you would post your roleplay responses to each other) and back then there were a lot to pick from. I joined one that had an original fantasy setting and one of the cultures was inspired by the Vikings, which prompted me to do a bit of research. That board folded before I even played my character--which was actually a precursor to Coal--but I guess I found the Vikings in particular to be interesting enough to do more with.
More background and very early drawings below the cut!
This question prompted me to go looking for some of my earliest TMK drawings! Here's perhaps the first Coal drawings with a girl who would eventually become Hedda. For some reason she has a vaguely Asian outfit and I'm not sure why. Perhaps even then I was looking to emphasize the international reach of the Viking period.
Tumblr media
Here's a page where Hedda starts to look like Hedda:
Tumblr media
Now the very early story for TMK is quite different from how it ended up. Coal was always a kind of undead warrior, but how he died and came back has changed. Initially, Coal died defending a village from two demon-creatures (maybe dragons?), and killed one of the two demons. The surviving demon, who was the killed demon's brother, vowed revenge against Coal and intercepted him on his way to Valhalla/Sessrúmnir (Freyja's hall, looks like I never decided which).
This demon, named Fen, was the one who brought Coal back. He could also turn into a ship and control it and turn into a dragon with it (the oars became legs, the sail became wings, etc.). Coal came back with missing memories and had more of a blank personality.
Here's Fen in his demon form and a human form apparently:
Tumblr media
For some reason that I never wrote down, various god items were included on this boat. It wasn't just items belonging to the big three (Odin, Thor, and Freyr) but also Freyja and Frigg and Tyr, etc. The idea was Coal needed to find their human counterpart owners in Midgard to do...something. I originally wanted to do nine items, because nine is a magic number, but after discussing with a friend (hi, Hannah!), I quickly realized that was too much work. Fen was scrapped but the idea of the living figurehead lives on in Rollo.
So the number of items changed to three four and Loki became the main cause of everything. I think I avoided using Loki before because I didn't want my version of him to be compared to Marvel's or whatever, but you can't really do a story involving the Norse gods without Loki in there somewhere. So I just bit the bullet and not only used him, but made him a main character. I think he's different enough to stand apart from most other depictions of him.
Here's me trying to figure out how TMK's Loki should look:
Tumblr media
I realized early on he shouldn't look too refined, but also not as scruffy as the bottom drawings lol. I think when I realized he's not just "The Trickster" but also a father a lot of things fell into place. Also the feather cloak!
Tumblr media
One of the hard things about working on webcomics is how long they take to make, but that can also be a kind of benefit. When I first started TMK I just wanted to make a fun fantasy adventure comic with a bold art style (it's probably no surprise to say Cartoon Saloon's Secret of Kells and subsequent films have been a huge inspiration to me), but as time has gone on and the world has shifted, it's turned into an exploration of toxic masculinity and its effects on the self and the world.
Anyway here's some other older drawings!
One of the first Ibrahims. His design was settled almost immediately.
Tumblr media
Arne's design also came together pretty easily. I dunno what that old man at the top is for...
Tumblr media
Anyway I hope you've enjoyed this lil jaunt down memory lane. Thank you for your question and birthday wishes and, of course, for reading the comic. <3

RINGSIDE WRESTLING : JANUARY 1997
Like a Hurricane! NWO destroys everything in its path!
By George Napolitano
[Kevin Nash and Scott Hall have done nothing but crush people and things since they arrived in the WCW territory]
The New World Order–led by “Hollywood” Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall–has completely turned wrestling upside down. When Scott Hall first invaded WCW, he promised that a few friends would soon be joining him and that they would take over WCW. No one ever imagined that Hulk Hogan would join that dastardly group and when he did, Hogan shocked everyone. After turning his back on his fans and friends, Hogan declared that there was a “New world order” in professional wrestling.  With this the nWo came into existence.
[A surprising number of fans have decided that the New World Order is where it’s at.]
Following the formation of this new alliance, Hogan & Co. promised that more enlistees would soon come to board and, true to their word, several new members have joined the nWo alliance. After Hall, Nash and Hogan, Ted DiBiase, aptly named “Billionaire Ted”, joined the group. Although it has been hinted that Billionaire Ted was the man directly responsible for putting the financing together to front the nWo, DiBiase didn’t make his presence known until after Hogan, Hall and Nash had put the wheels in motion.
With four members in the organization, the nWo pulled off a big coup when they convinced the Giant to become part of the group. Promising the Giant riches beyond his wildest dreams, it didn’t take long to convince him that his future lie with the nWo. The Giant’s coming out party came at the expense of the Macho Man. When the Giant first appeared in the ring everyone figured that he was going to help WCW fight off the nWo. But that scenario never played out as the Giant pummeled the Macho Man and then joined the Outsiders in destroying the WCW nitro set. Immediately it became apparent to all that WCW was fighting a losing battle.
[Hall gives an exclusive interview to Ringside wrestling editor George Napolitano.]
The nWO’s next mission was to drive a wedge between the WCW alliance. They did this by ringing up a tape of Sting’s voice and making it seem that he had abandoned WCW and joined the New World Order. When Lex Luger heard what he thought was Sting talking to the nWo members, he immediately left the arena and went outside to see for himself what was going on. As Luger approached the nWo limousine, he was viciously attacked by “Sting”. Actually we later learned it wasn’t Sting at all who had attacked Luger but someone who was dressed up to look like Sting.
[Hall ponds Luger against the ropes. Nash Pummels Sting. Suspicious referee Nick Patrick declares the NWO victors after DQing the WCW boys for minor infraction. Hall tries to get Luger to say “Uncle.”]
Actually when Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and the remaining members of WCW they figured that Sting had been bought off by the nWo. At the “War Games” we finally learned for sure that it wasn’t Sting who had attacked Luger but an imposter! But by the time the truth was learned, Sting had been trashed by everyone for “betraying” WCW. Needless to say, Sting was deeply hurt by these accusations. Never theless, the real Sting was the fourth man into the cage at the War Games on WCW’s side. After entering the cage, Sting went ballistic! After entering the cage, Sting went ballistic! He attacked Hogan, Hall, Nash and finally the imposter. But after controlling the action for several minutes, Sting walked out of the cage leaving Flair, Anderson and Luger to fight the four Outsiders by themselves. Meanwhile, with help from the fake Sting, the New World Order defeated WCW members Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and Lex Luger submitted to the fake Sting’s Scorpion Death lock. By defeating the WCW wrestlers the nWO also won the right to have their own television show on either TNT or TBS.  This was a prematch stipulation that was put into the contract by “Billionaire” Ted DiBiase and now WCW has to live up to the terms of the agreement. With this we will be seeing the nWo on its own in the very near future.
On Monday Nitro the day after the War Games, Sting defended his actions. During his tirade Sting declared that he was a “Free Agent” and he also said that he would join the highest bidder! Sting ended his interview by telling everyone “to stick it!” for not trusting him. With this revelation Sting made it known that he would listen to offers from the nWo.
[The Outsiders need increased security wherever they go.]
But that is not all.
On September 16, on Nitro, the man formally known as the 1-2-3 Kid made an appearance. It was later revealed that he too would be joining the nWo and that he would be known as Six. I guess he got his name by adding up the digits in his WWF name. I’m sure that he must have had some help fighting out that 1+2+3=Six, but as long as he can remember how to wrestle he will be a welcomed addition to the nWo.
Actually, if you want to count the nWo members, Six should really be Seven, unless the bogus Sting doesn’t count. For those keeping score Scott Hall should be one; Kevin Nash, two; Holywood Hogan, three; “Billionaire” Ted DiBiase, four; the Giant, fice and the bogus Sting, six. Either the nWo doesn’t know its math, or they’re giving the bogus Sting a hint that he;’s not really welcomed in their elite alliance.
[Hall and Nash doubleteam Luger! Nash slams Luger to the canvas.]
The nWo really has everyone talking. Not since the wrestling boon in the mid-1980s has there been as much anticipation and excitement as there is today. Right now everyone can’t wait for Monday night to see what new surprise the nWo will unveil on Nitro.
You can say what you want about the nWo, but no one can deny the tremendous impact that they have made on the American wrestling scene.

Så som i himmelen proshot thoughts
Just some quick-ish notes on the cast and direction to sorta process watching the proshot for the first time!
Philip Jalmelid as Daniel: I've gone on record saying that acting-wise, he's not my favourite Daniel, but he really has a voice like no one else, and I really do appreciate him for that. He was also the first Daniel I saw, and he made me cry literally every time he opened his mouth to sing. You don't forget an experience like that. He's still no number one favourite of mine, but I have grown very fond of his portrayal of the character, and I especially enjoyed his first act on the proshot. I love Daniel Daréus so, so much!
Tuva B. Larsen as Lena: I enjoyed seeing all the closeups of her – there is really a lot going on under the surface in her Lena, more than I think I saw/understood live in theatre. With that said, I think the creative team has done the character of Lena a big disservice by not giving her a proper introspective/I want solo (like. How come Stig gets two but the female lead gets none?), so she always remains a bit of a mystery, no matter how talented the actor is. But I do like Tuva's portrayal. I just wish there was a bit more substantial stuff for her to perform!
Malena Ernman as Gabriella: potentially an unpopular opinion, but she's my absolute #1 musical Gabriella and I adore her. You can see that there's a tremendous capacity for joy inside this Gabriella, a bright spark that she has to suppress because of Conny. I can 100% see where the actors who make Gabriella meeker and more shy are coming from, but for me, Malena's Gabriella is where it's at.
Björn Kjellman as Arne: I mean, he's fine. It's just that Morgan Alling was so, so, so much better in the role.
Anders Ekborg as Stig: the only actor I've seen that I feel really gets this insane character... as much as you can get him, anyway. I have no idea why the musical spends so much time on Stig's marital troubles, nor why the thought of marital sex makes this Lutheran priest turn into an ultra-repressed Catholic monk, but Anders almost sells it to me. He has a voice like no one else, too. The red shirt in Stig's final scene is a piece of costume design I really, really like.
Sofia Pekkari as Inger: she's good, I don't really have further notes.
Rikard Björk as Tore: he's really good and has clearly done his research, but I gotta say, I think this is a role that truly benefits from having an actually disabled actor do it. I suppose it might not have been viable in the original production where they have to do a lot of cognitively very taxing workshopping and last-minute changes – but I'm so glad they cast the brilliant Jaakko Lahtinen as Tore in Helsinki. Jaakko's portrayal was so refreshingly honest and genuine, I don't really think any non-disabled actor can give the role that. That being said, Rikard also did a great job editing the proshot, he's clearly something of a renaissance man with all his talents!
Linus Eklund Adolphson as Holmfrid: love love love. Brilliant. Best Holmfrid I've ever seen by a mile. The bit in the beginning of the 2nd act where he mimes getting a kiss from the audience and putting it in his pocket? One of my favourite details in this entire show.
Christopher Wollter as Conny: hands down the best Conny I've seen, with the perfect mix of scary and incredibly insecure. Way too many actors just lean into the scary vibes. (Also the best Daniel in the original cast, but that's besides the point of this post.)
Annica Edstam as Florence: babygirl. The other half of my Gabriella/Florence otp that I know will come true one day. Love.
I know there are more named characters but these are the ones I feel the most strongly about!
Direction by Markus Virta: I've seen other productions do certain scenes better, but as a whole, I really do appreciate the simplicity and straightforwardness of Virta's direction. He lets the songs and the characters stand on their own, which I think is a good way to go – elaborate choreography/blocking and extra whatever can and has been nice, but this is not the sort of musical where you really need that. On the proshot, Virta's direction loses me during the last ten minutes, like it always has (we absolutely do not need to see Daniel's soul embracing his child self, not when absolutely nothing in the previous two hours has indicated we're dealing with a world where tangible afterlife visions like that are a thing) – but other than that, fantastic work, no notes.
Random notes:
I like how subtle Lena's "grandpa must go paint another angel on the wall" thing is here. I've written in length before how much I dislike the instant pregnancy thing – but I dislike it less here, where it's not a huge joyful declaration of pregnancy like in some other productions but a little unsure line that's left to the audience's interpretation. It's unclear if Daniel really gets what she means, and I'm also free to imagine she's really having her ex's child or whatever.
Am I losing it, or was there a short reprise bit of Den tid jag har in the last scene early in the run that wasn't included in the proshot anymore? I thought the last scene felt a little less overwrought and cringy than before, somehow.
Did anyone else watch the proshot yet? What did you think?

UNTOLD MYTHS: The Mage's Lantern
A Legend of Zelda Fan-Story by Nocturne
Prologue + Chapter 1 (Novelized)
(Comic in Progress)
Tumblr media
Expand to read! (Warning: Blood)
Prologue - Warm Memory
In the dead of night, the howling winds rock the walls of a cabin home. There is little to no natural warmth, save for a single candle on a bedstand beside an old couch with a wooden frame. To compensate for the freezing cold, a woman lets her son rest his head on her lap beneath the cozy shelter of a blanket. As the little one fades in and out of sleep, the woman's voice quietly joins the arguing winds.
"Throughout the flow of time, many legends become lost from record. Tales of knights... Tales of princesses... The tales of an eternal struggle between good an evil. Among the ancient powers carried among these stories, one has stood the test of passing ages: The Triforce." She weaves her words as if having rehearsed them, but the boy she speaks to has a hard time paying attention with how he dozes off. Even so, faint images try to paint themselves in the back of the sleepy child's head. "Possessing the traits of Courage, Wisdom, and Power, this powerful relic was long said to be tied to the rulers and heroes of Hyrule. When one possessed all three pieces of The Triforce, they were given a single wish without limit. Because of this...–"
"Now, Faronna..." A second voice interrupts the woman, that of a man her age. He briefly glances back to her, halting his process of covering the windows, "Should you really be telling him all this?"
"The boy asked, Arn. Besides, it is only a bedtime story. He'll forget it by morning..." Faronna murmurs, before returning her gaze to their son. Now, where was she? "...Because of this, the gift from the skies brought conflict after conflict upon Hyrule. The Royal Family, upon recognizing such a pattern, decided to keep its whereabouts almost entirely secret... Supposedly even to themselves. With this in place, Hyrule went for generations without the pursuit of Power clouding its peace."
...
There is a pause to follow, as if the woman herself has begun to question if she should continue. But after lingering on her words for a few moments, she decides to continue forth. "But this did not last. One day, a Dark Wizard appeared. He who was once known as the Gerudo King had assembled a following of twisted mages, all working to claim the complete Triforce as their own. As they devastated all regions in their search, it became clear that the King could no longer try to peacefully calm their hunt for power. Each Mage was decreed to be sentenced to death for their crimes if they were to show their faces again. Only seeing it as an empty threat, however, the mages continued their wicked ways. Ultimately, the evil forces were killed... Except for one."
Another hesitation.
"The Mage of Winter– the strongest of them all– was enraged by the falling of his allies. In retaliation, and under his master's command, the ice wizard cast a curse upon the land. What was soon called The Frigid Storm spiraled Hyrule into a state so cold that survival became a struggle in every waking hour. Ever since that day, this is how the Kingdom has remained."
...
And this is how it will forever be, until The Dark One finally holds the full Triforce in his grasp.
Chapter 1 - The Wizard
The wasteland stretches beneath an eternal night sky, a horizon of sand and rock blanketed in the never-ending, cold embrace of darkness. The desert, given its own special curse to assure its suffering, has been long since abandoned in the majority of the region. The air carries only the stench of death. The stench of death... And the sudden addition of fresh blood.
"Urgh... Demise CURSE IT ALL!" A screeching voice abruptly rings out. "GET BACK HERE, YOU MISERABLE LITTLE INSECT!" Its source: A hunched over, older man covered in an unidentifiable number of layers of clothing. He keeps one bony hand up to his face, over a growing puddle of blood where his eye should be. Although disoriented by his own rage, the man raises his free fist. It is enveloped almost instantaneously by a twisting presence of ice and snow that is sent out in pursuit of a smaller individual. The storming magic races after a young girl with bright green eyes that barely show from beneath her fur-lined hood. The spell shoots past her, curling it's path to try and halt her from in front; its light-blue luminescence reflecting against her gaze. She lets out a yelp, ducking down and holding her head as she lets the magic soar over her head and back towards the pre-occupied mage. With his own magic colliding with his face amidst his recovery, the wizard stumbles back and lets out a low murmur like a growl. He just had the little brat, and now she's managed to pull a stunt like that twice! Using his own power against him... First plunging a sharpened icicle into his skull, and now sending such a horrible cloud over the wound! He swears to himself that the child will pay severely for the attempts... Once he can catch her.
The girl urges herself to push through her escape, fighting the urge to stop and catch her breath. As she dares to take a brief look back to the man, she finds that he has stubbornly froze the blood over his injury to keep it from pestering him in the meantime. She is certain it isn't comfortable or helpful in any way, but it's allowed him to follow her himself. Although she makes an effort to ignore it and refocus on getting away, her thoughts are interrupted by another trail of the mage's power; this time landing into the ground beside her with a blast. It branches out into an array of transparent spikes, all of which seeming to reach for her. The runaway is forced to restrain herself from yelping again, recollecting herself in a hurry. Meanwhile, the wizard outstretches his palm back towards the stars– his figure seeming to almost be carried by the wind– and commands for a series of clouds to force their way into the sky with a shout. Although usually without a single cloud, the skies now present a churning multitude of them... And make way for an uncharacteristic snowfall from the mage's furious call.
As if the call was not enough to cause her alarm, the fleeing child is met with the sight of snowflakes hindering her view of the horizon. It is temporarily a cause of panic, her heartbeat quickening exponentially, but a collection of silhouettes just barely enters her sight after she aimlessly pushed onward. The snow mixing with sand, it appears a collection of stands and tents lies up ahead. Being unfamiliar with the area, the young girl fears she may be mistaken, but she rushes to this place in hopes that she can find someone else; perhaps some sort of refuge. Unfortunately, she is met only with the abandoned ruins of what was a bazaar. A frustrated huff escapes her, but the girl decides she cannot let it stop her. Knowing what is at stake, she thinks fast and adjusts her path. The stands have loose shelters of cloth overhead... perhaps they could act as a barricade. She runs straight into the heart of the now ironically snowed-over bazaar, leaping over one stand's counter to another in an attempt to let the structures protect her where the wizard would be too tall to follow through. It drains her, to be sure, but she knows she is young– and the wizard, well... He just isn't.
The runaway's plan proves successful for a minute or so, to the extent that she doesn't care look back and allow her streak to collapse. But her fixation on the path ahead is broken soon by a sort of creaking sound. At first, she is perplexed... But confusion dives straight back into worry as she recognizes the creak's origin. The snow that flurries has begun to clump via the man's powers, solidifying into sharp spearheads of hail that rain down from above. The cloth barriers once shielding her from the weather are torn through like paper, leaving her to desperately try to avoid the barrage from whatever stand she ended up inside. Deciding her plan has backfired and gotten her cornered, she dives out from her hidden path and narrowly avoids impalement in the process. She scrambles to run once more, but makes the error of peering back to see where the wizard commands the weather from– and in doing so, fails to see where the new layer of snow seems to sink. She feels the ground give out beneath her and, in an instant, disappears amidst the shroud of hail.
Her vision was left dark for the second that she fell, but it returned to her after she landed in solid stone with a light thud. The air is knocked out of her, and it stings... But she realizes she's fine. The girl hurriedly lifts her head, looking up to see the only light source is the dim opening from which she fell through. Some sort of hole in the sand, blocked from view by the snow. It seems to have dropped her into a small den. She could probably reach back out, if she stood, but she knows better... Now, she may as well be cornered!
...And that she is, as the familiar voice of the wizard lets out a yell of frustration. She holds her breath. It is audible merely a few steps from the place she fell through... "AUGHHH! I've lost her... AGAIN! The Dark One will have my head... Or my other eye!" His utter distress echoes through the small crack in the stone den's roof. The young one once again quietly exhales, yet almost seems unsure that she heard him correctly. Did he fail to see her fall through? Did his own storm cloud his vision? "It takes me all my strength not to just get this over with and reduce that pitiful little child into a sculpture..." The man grumbles under his breath now, his voice fading as he goes further away. "I cannot return empty-handed... I'll be reduced to ash..."
Once his presence has entirely vanished, the escapee lets out a slow sigh of relief. She can see her breath in the dim light beneath the opening now that she has finally stopped her constant pace. While the disdainful sculpture comment was... Rather threatening, she think the feeling is mutual. He would be much more tolerable as speechless stone. But overall, she's just glad he has gone... The girl gives it a little time, but eventually allows herself to pull her way out of the den. She spares it a mere glance before eyeing her surroundings. The snow has begun to drift away on the breeze, and the moon finally looms over the perpetual night sky. Other than that, she is alone. With this in mind, the child makes a break for the end of the wasteland.
