so my wallet was stolen. either last night (the last time i remember seeing my wallet) or this afternoon (when i was out and about), but i suspect it was stolen while on my date!! bc all the fraudulent charges (over $8k worth!! on my personal cards AND my work card) were made like 15 min away from where we were. and my true crime paranoia brain wonders if he had anything to do with it bc he ended the date v suddenly literally right about when i now know was the first fraudulent charge and made no mention of meeting up again. which at the time i chalked up to it just being an average date but now i wonder if its bc he helped fucking rob me. which i have no proof of but. what the fuck.

which as i was typing this, one of the banks called me back to tell me some other places the thief’s tried to use my card and told me that they’re usually v fast so it would be surprising if it was stolen last night and when i told him my theory he was like “i would trust your gut on this” and said that in cases like this, usually the victim is targeted and that's what he assumes happened here.

anyway! fuck my life!!

#my initial impulse was that i must have dropped it last night #but that was bc i thought the charges were happening at stores around the theatre i was at #but right as i was going to call the cops i realized all the stores the cards were used were literally within a 10 minute walk of our date #he had to have been in on it #he ended the date SO fucking suddenly #and now that i've got all the time stamps it seems like he ended it right after they probably got out of the city we were in #bc they went from where we were and then crossed into DC to make other purchases #they stole about $4k from me and $4k from my job #great #kat liveblogs her life #anyway i am never going on another online date ever again! OFFICIALLY.

So I'm rereading ACOSF and the WAY SJM does not understand how STAIRS WORK is killing me. In chapter 39, Nesta gets down SIX THOUSAND STEPS before turning around to go back UP???!?!?!!?!

And look, I'm no mathematician. But 6+6=12, at least the last time I checked. Maybe math has changed since I was in the third grade (let me know if so). But 10k steps down is too many...and 12k up and down ISN'T? Nesta did MORE THAN THE REQUIRED STEPS.

Like everyone talks about how unrealistic the Valkyries winning was but can we discuss NESTA CLIMBING TWELVE THOUSAND STEPS THINKING TEN THOUSAND IS TOO MUCH??! Does SJM think if you climb the same step twice it doesn't count? Like somehow that step back UP is still part of that six thousand.
