Random prompt Generator pt.2! ~Karma Akabane edition~
Tumblr media
Karma x Secret Agent reader! (reader is also in highschool)
You were sent by the government on a mission. All you had to do was pose as one of class 3E's students and collect information on Korosensei, and any info on how to kill him. That part was difficult enough, Trying to hide right under the noses of a bunch of trainee assassins, and REAL assassins? How the hell were you going to pull this off? It ended up working out since there was an influx of new students joining the class anyway. An AI, some other octopus kid, and a certain mysterious redhead coming from suspension...
Despite your classmate's attempts to make friends with you, you kept them all at a distance, you only got close enough to not seem suspicious, but you had one goal. Get intell, and deliver it to headquarters.
However, your lack of socializing caught a certain sadist's eye...
"You aren't the talkative type, are you? Or maybe you're just faking it. Do you like the attention you get from pretending to be a loner?" Karma sighed, leaning on your desk with a degrading stare. 'what's this kid's deal? He can't know anything, we've never spoken and he just got here.' You did have a second of doubt though. What if he was onto you? Your worries were erased when the redhead punched you in the shoulder playfully.
"Nah, you seem too stupid to try and pull that type of shit. Especially if you're here." He scoffed laughing and walking away.
You had a job to do, you didn't need to bring your feelings into this... But that didn't mean you weren't tempted too. It took everything in you to not follow after the boy, and hurl insults at him, but you didn't need to blow your cover. Nothing good would come out of blowing up at him.
At first, you thought this was obvious, but for the next few weeks, he made you question everything you were thinking about before. He was enjoying trying to make a fool out of you and giving you a hard time. But there wasn't anything you could do about it, you didn't need to blow your cover. So you kept trying to collect information. But he plagued your mind, eventually, you found yourself taking notes on Karma instead of the octopus, analyzing him and thinking of ways to piss him off. Giggling to yourself when you flustered him with your quick-witted comebacks, and packing extra of your lunch because you knew he was going to take some.
Eventually, you started to enjoy school and even began to open up to the people around you more and more, and Karma. Just the thought of him made your face heat up a little. So when you were taken out of the program because they collected enough info, you felt...upset? You have felt upset before, but never in this amount, you always prided yourself on being analytical and level-headed. So when a certain redhead showed up at your door, let's just say you were a little more happy than you let on.
You had one job, and while you tried to remain professional, you can't help what the heart yearns for.

Coskewness: What It Means, How It Works
What Is Coskewness?
Coskewness is a statistical concept that describes the degree to which three random variables or data sets move together when they deviate from their respective means. It's an extension of skewness, which measures the asymmetry of a single variable's distribution.
In simpler terms, coskewness quantifies the asymmetry in the joint distribution of three variables. It provides information about how these variables tend to move in relation to each other when they are not at their typical or average values.
Mathematically, the coskewness of three variables X, Y, and Z is defined as:
Coskew(X,Y,Z)=E[(X−E[X])(Y−E[Y])(Z−E[Z])]σ(X)⋅σ(Y)⋅σ(Z))3\text{Coskew}(X, Y, Z) = \frac{E[(X - E[X])(Y - E[Y])(Z - E[Z])]}{\sigma(X) \cdot \sigma(Y) \cdot \sigma(Z))^3}Coskew(X,Y,Z)=σ(X)⋅σ(Y)⋅σ(Z))3E[(X−E[X])(Y−E[Y])(Z−E[Z])]
Where:
E[X],E[Y],E[Z]E[X], E[Y], E[Z]E[X],E[Y],E[Z] are the expected values (means) of X, Y, and Z.
σ(X),σ(Y),σ(Z)\sigma(X), \sigma(Y), \sigma(Z)σ(X),σ(Y),σ(Z) are the standard deviations of X, Y, and Z.
A positive coskewness indicates that when X, Y, and Z deviate from their means, they tend to do so together in a positively skewed manner. Conversely, a negative coskewness indicates a tendency to deviate together in a negatively skewed manner.
Coskewness has applications in various fields, including finance and risk assessment. For example, in finance, it can be used to assess the risk associated with a portfolio of assets. A positive coskewness suggests that assets are more likely to experience positive returns together but might also experience larger losses together.
Overall, coskewness provides insights into how three variables are related in terms of their deviations from their respective means, which can be valuable for understanding joint behavior in different analytical contexts.
Understanding Coskewness
Coskewness is a statistical concept that helps us understand how three random variables or data sets move together when they deviate from their respective means. It's an extension of skewness, which measures the asymmetry of a single variable's distribution.
Here's a detailed explanation of coskewness:
Skewness Recap: Before diving into coskewness, let's quickly review skewness. Skewness measures the asymmetry of a single variable's distribution. A positively skewed distribution has a long right tail, indicating more data points on the left side and fewer on the right. A negatively skewed distribution is the opposite.
Extending to Coskewness: Coskewness extends this concept to the relationship between three variables. If you have three random variables, X, Y, and Z, coskewness measures how they deviate together from their respective means.
Mathematical Definition: The coskewness of X, Y, and Z is calculated using higher-order moments. It's defined as the expected value of the product of the deviations of X, Y, and Z from their respective means, divided by the product of their standard deviations cubed:Coskew(X,Y,Z)=E[(X−E[X])(Y−E[Y])(Z−E[Z])]σ(X)⋅σ(Y)⋅σ(Z))3\text{Coskew}(X, Y, Z) = \frac{E[(X - E[X])(Y - E[Y])(Z - E[Z])]}{\sigma(X) \cdot \sigma(Y) \cdot \sigma(Z))^3}Coskew(X,Y,Z)=σ(X)⋅σ(Y)⋅σ(Z))3E[(X−E[X])(Y−E[Y])(Z−E[Z])]Where:
E[X],E[Y],E[Z]E[X], E[Y], E[Z]E[X],E[Y],E[Z] are the expected values (means) of X, Y, and Z.
σ(X),σ(Y),σ(Z)\sigma(X), \sigma(Y), \sigma(Z)σ(X),σ(Y),σ(Z) are the standard deviations of X, Y, and Z.
Interpretation: A positive coskewness indicates that when X, Y, and Z deviate from their means, they tend to do so together in a positively skewed manner. Conversely, a negative coskewness indicates a tendency to deviate together in a negatively skewed manner.
Practical Applications:
Finance: Coskewness is used in finance to assess the risk associated with a portfolio of assets. Positive coskewness suggests that assets are more likely to experience positive returns together, but might also experience larger losses together.
Risk Management: It's used in risk management models, especially those dealing with extreme events or tail risks. It helps in understanding how different assets or variables behave together under stress conditions.
Limitations:
Coskewness assumes a specific form for the joint distribution, and deviations from this assumption can lead to inaccurate results.
It's important to use coskewness in conjunction with other statistical measures for a comprehensive analysis.
In summary, coskewness provides insights into how three variables are related in terms of their deviations from their respective means. It's particularly relevant in finance and risk assessment for understanding the joint behavior of different assets or variables.

Standing on the edge of becoming an OT.
With hands shaking, a voice trembling and legs quaking – I stand at the edge. It was 19:32, on a mundane Monday evening, when I received the call. “Welcome to OT!” When has the intro to Taylor Swifts latest heartbreak single ever let me down? The greatest power one could hold, is the capacity to shift the dimensions of another’s life. Growing up, I had always dreamt of facilitating such power - to equip people with the ability to feel fulfilled within themselves, to truly make a difference. The granny’s said doctor, the grandfathers said engineer, the parents said accountant, but the humanitarian in me said occupational therapist.
Being an OT student is extremely daunting, but not as daunting as having to explain in layman’s terms what OT truly is. I cannot count the numerous day-old jokes about helping my family members find employment. Between having to formulate an understandable definition of OT to those around me, and handling a goniometer, I often found myself asking “do I even know what I’m doing here?”. “Am I qualified enough to do this?”
Tumblr media
“Reflection is a process which helps you gain insight into your professional practise by thinking analytically about any element of it.” (Health and Care Professions Council, 2021). As a third-year student, it is integral that I begin to reflect not just on the progress that I have made so far, but also on what aspects of my skillset require further refining, to ensure that I will be a competent professional.
“When a flower doesn't bloom you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower”. (“When a Flower Doesn’t Bloom, You Fix the Environment in Which It Grows, Not the Flower.,” 2021). I am no stranger to feeling stuck. Mental health has been a factor in affecting my performance – my state of mind has had a direct impact on my ability to execute tasks and fulfil responsibilities. As a student, a weakness that I consider needs to be worked on, is my ability to handle stress and anxiety. Reflecting on the way I tend to handle my stress; I acknowledge how it becomes crippling and impacts my quality of learning. And so, to ensure that I bloom, I remind myself to handle my weaknesses with grace, as “any personal development journey is a lifelong commitment, not a sprint or achievable task. It will weather bumps and roadblocks, but it can also thrive in other areas of your life”. (Miles, 2022).
Tumblr media
A strength that I have learnt to capitalize on, is utilizing my personality in a therapeutic manner. As an extroverted and friendly individual, I find it almost natural to form good rapport with my clients. Through creating this relationship, client’s respond well to intervention and proposed sessions which ultimately results in better occupational performance.
Through reflecting and critically analysing my position toward becoming an OT, I begin to harness my strengths and improve my weaknesses, allowing me to be the best professional that I could possibly be. With hands shaking, a voice trembling and legs quaking – I stand at the edge, at the edge of becoming an OT.

Introduction to APTI- Function Hierarchy
Attitudinal Psyche is a personality system that seeks to explain the fundamental attitudes of each of the types. Each of the 24 types has four distinct attitudes. It is similar to the system of myers briggs in that there is a hierarchy to each of these functions. Each function is notated by the number of its position in the hierarchy and the letter that stands for it- i.e. 1L, 2E, 3V, 4F. The first function is in the Confident position. The first function is your dominant function, your dominant subconscious attitude that governs your behavior and the way you see the world. The second function impacts your behavior quite a bit as well, but a function in the Flexible position is just that- flexible. It’s not as frequently utilized as the dominant function, but still greatly affects how you see the world. The attitude in the third position is the Insecure function. This is a function that you struggle to use, but are still conscious enough to feel insecure about using. You may subconsciously overdo it, or avoid it entirely. Finally, the fourth function is in the Unbothered position. This function is so weak that you don’t even notice it or pay attention to it. You’re simply unconcerned about it and it doesn’t really impact your day to day life.
The four functions that make up every APTI type are Logic, Volition, Physics and Emotion. These four functions also make up sixteen attitudes- 1L, 2L, 3L, 4L, 1V, 2V, 3V, 4V, 1E, 2E, 3E, 4E, 1F, 2F, 3F, and 4F. The different combinations of these attidues make up 24 different types.
Those with a strong attitude of Logic are analytical and rational. They tend to be very academic and precise, enjoying discussions of the theoretical. They are very logical and value reason, especially those with Logic in the Confident position. They become frustrated with those who do not adhere to reason.
Those with a strong attitude of Volition have strong willpower and know what they want out of life. They are driven and determined to achieve their goals, and are very efficient. They are confident in their ability to make decisions and will not question themselves, especially if Volition is in the Confident position. They become frustrated with inefficiency and those who do not see the logic behind their decisions.
Those with Physics in the Confident or Flexible position are very focused on their own health and their physical environment. They put a lot of effort into their aesthetic and prefer to experience the raw experiences their environment has to offer. They are interested in material objects and put a lot of effort into having their environment aesthetically appealing.
Those with Emotion in the Confident or Flexible position are fixated on their feelings and the feelings of others. They are not ashamed of their emotions and won’t apologize for them. They accept others for who they are and don’t expect others to apologize for what they feel either. They have a strong sense of culture and empathy for other people. They enjoy being social and types with lower Logic can become annoyed at others trying to apply reason to human emotions.

However, he refuses to believe that Klaus cannot go back to being the way he once was, except when they were estranged. This makes him extremely loyal to his brother and to his plan to help Klaus find his redemption.
Enneagram: 1w2
Elijah is very principled and perfectionistic. He seeks to improve the city of New Orleans so he can do right by his neice and help his brother redeem himself. Everything he does in New Orleans is to help Klaus become a better version of himself. He is very moral but also caring to his family and becomes upset when they do not reciprocate his affection. He denies his feelings for Hayley because he does not want to be what he sees as disloyal to Klaus, but he still takes care of her regardless. Elijah is willing to do anything for his family, even sacrifice himself, and feels his purpose is to serve his family.
OSPP Temperament: Phlegmatic Choleric
Elijah primarily wants to help people, specifically his family. He is caring and loving, wanting to do right by his family and especially Klaus. He is warm and accommodating and in season one seeks peace in New Orleans because it is right and will keep Hope safe when she is born. Elijah is kind but can be blunt and sarcastic when under stress. Elijah fights for what he believes in, which is defending his family and his home. He is efficient and does not tolerate others who oppose his plans to protect his family. He can be pushy about getting what he wants done, although not as pushy as Klaus, who is primarily Choleric.
Attitudinal Psyche: FVEL
1F Confident Physics: Elijah is very aware of his physical needs and wants. He is well dressed and likes to live in comfort. He likes to organize his environment in a pleasing way. He is a good fighter.
2V Flexible Volition: Elijah is a take charge person and when protecting his family will exploit others to achieve his goals, like when he kidnaps Elena in the Vampire Diaries in order to stop Esther’s spell. Elijah is not afraid to tell others what to do when in a leadership position, but is not as aggressive as Klaus, like when he strives to create peace in New Orleans in The Originals.
3E Insecure Emotion: Elijah is not as in touch with his own emotions and instead focuses on the emotions of his family and protecting them. He represses his feelings until they bubble to the surface, causing him to occasionally have outbursts.
4L Unbothered Logic: Elijah is not as focused on correct versus incorrect and takes his time formulating an opinion, and sometimes his feelings can cloud his judgement.

We get some asks from time to time about where to get data from. Of course, we want to preface this by saying that you need proper context in order to be able to use the data fully and build on it. Nevertheless, there are a bunch of platforms available for you to use - we’ve added caveats where necessary.
1.       Kworb (http://kworb.net)
a.   Provides realtime iTunes chart updates for both singles and albums, as well as iTunes popularity updates for both singles and albums. You can sort by country or get worldwide data, and the platform also offers some data on YouTube and other metrics, such as Artist Popularity.
b.   Drawbacks: Keep in mind that even though it’s realtime, there is a lag in Kworb’s data nonetheless. Popularity is updated only every four hours or so. iTunes charts will update more regularly, but will lag behind what people may already be able to see in their own iTunes stores.
2.       DigitalSalesData (http://digitalsalesdata.com)
a.   This website used to be able to provide you with the sales numbers for singles on iTunes charts.
b.   Drawbacks: It no longer gives accurate data, because this is no longer included in the iTunes Store API. Nonetheless, it does give you an indication of the market as a whole in a country – are the margins to get into the Top 10 close or not, and what’s the sales velocity like? Keep in mind that these numbers therefore should be interpreted, and not just blankly copied or taken as reflective of the actual sales numbers.
3.   Chartmetric (http://chartmetric.com)
a.   Probably one of the most elaborate websites that lets you collect many KPIs from various platforms – TikTok, Shazam, Spotify, AppleMusic, YouTube, etc. They have over 25 different data sources.  It also shows you things like fan conversion rate (the ratio of monthly listeners vs artist followers on Spotify, for example), and lets you sort playlists on whether they are editorial, personalized or both. They provide data on trends and give you updates in percentages as well when it comes to relative change in subscribers, views, etc. There’s a separate section on social insights, too. They also developed their own cross-platform index which is a useful tool to see if an artist is able to really create a robust fan foundation across all various social platforms. Chartmetric regularly publishes interesting pieces on their latest finds and data analysis. Reading them will help you understand the data they offer, and will let you know how to interpret it all.
b.   Drawbacks: You can only follow up to 5 tracks/items and get email notifications for the free version. And most importantly, you need to actually put in some work to understand how you can interpret their data points. Otherwise it can be overwhelming, or you may just copy-paste the numbers without contextualizing them, which isn’t going to help anyone. It’s great for trends, but you need to be able to identify those and explain them, supported by the numbers. You also don’t have as much insight into radio on the free platform.
4.   Songstats
a.   Similar to Chartmetric, SongStats offers data on an artist and their discography, using various inputs (Spotify, Beatport, AppleMusic, Deezer, Shazam, SoundCloud, Amazon, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, TraxSource, 1001 Tracklists, YouTube, iTunes). It can also provide you with an overview of the top current playlists where any music by Louis is playlisted. You can customise what data inputs you want to see.
b.   Drawbacks: The data they provide for the free version is very limited, and while they do provide some analytics for free – those are all cumulative data. For example, they’ll say Defenceless is on 114 playlists and has a reach of 2,04M. This is in total, across time. It is not always current, so again you have to be very careful with reading the data they give you in analytics, and how you need to interpret it. It also depends per input source. iTunes & AppleMusic do offer a distinction between current or total/cumulative.
5.   Soundcharts (http://soundcharts.com)
a.   Similar to Chartmetric and Songstats (more like Songstats in how it’s formatted, but more like Chartmetric in the data it lets you see). Very useful specifically if you want to see a breakdown of radio play per country.
b.   Drawbacks: This is only free for two weeks, then plans start at 41$ a month. Moreover, again, be careful in how you interpret data. They don’t properly account for syndicated shows, and they use a questionable metric to track audiences. It also makes no distinction between internet/terrestrial radio. (There’s a difference, because internet radio is traditionally not counted for charting, whereas airplay on ‘terrestrial’ radio does count if radio is tracked for charting purposes like in the US). When you look at e.g. radio play, make sure to use the function to filter out plays shorter than 30 seconds!
6.   SpotifyCharts (http://spotifycharts.com)
a.   The official site of Spotify that updates on Viral and Top 200 playlists. You may find that there’s a difference between the numbers shown here and on an artist’s own profile. It’s because these numbers have been audited extra carefully to filter out any sort of artificial inflation or fraudulent streaming activities. These update daily around 3PM EST, usually a bit earlier than the song specific numbers.
b.   Drawbacks: While they do update daily, the time thereof is incredibly irregular.
7.   Chartmasters (http://chartmasters.org)
a.   A site that allows you to quickly see an artist’s overall Spotify streams in a table. You can sort based on popular songs or on discography.
b.   Drawback: You need an account and only get to use it 3 times a day. Make sure you use them wisely.
8.   Billboard (http://billboard.com)
a.   Billboard offers a variety of charts – aside from the most well known Hot 100 and Album 200 (and the Social 50 in the past). It also used to offer artist-specific overviews of peak chart positions.
b.   Drawbacks: We said ‘used to’, because they technically still offer it – you just need to have a paid subscription to be able to access that data, as well as the other charts they have. Think of split-out charts on digital download sales or streaming, as well as radio airplay or genre-specific charts.
9.   NextBigSound (http://nextbigsound.com)
a.   NBS is monitored and used by Nielsen to compile the Social 50 for Billboard. It provides you a good overview of social media clout and activity. It also gives margins as to whether or not an artist’s activity and engagement are on par with what you’d expect of an artist what x amount of followers, for example. Also unique: It gives you insights in Pandora. Pandora is part of SiriusXM, as well as its own streaming service and is therefore influential in US radio play as well.
b.   Drawbacks: It only tracks a limited amount of data sources (Facebook, Pandora, Twitter, Wikipedia), and used to provide more insights as to e.g. gender & country demographics. It no longer will do that, unless you have access to an artist’s AMP on Pandora.
10.   Radio Airplay Chart UK (http://ukairplaychart.com/)
a.   Gives you an overview of Top 40 songs being played on UK radio. You can also choose whether you want a rolling overview or see last chart week.
b.   Drawbacks: It doesn’t tell you how often a song needs to be played and if this is based on audience or amount of plays (or when songs were most often played)
11.   AllAccess (http://allaccess.com)
a.   This is the database that is most often used by radio in the US to find new songs to play and to track radioplay across the country. It’s also a great platform to keep updated with the latest changes in terms of program directors or hosts at particular radio stations (which is useful when requesting). It will show you when a song was played and how often, and the estimated audience that was reached. All these things factor in airplay charting, so it’s nice to have a breakdown of it. It’ll also tell you which radio stations are giving support.
b.   Drawbacks: You need to have an existing account with them and you need to know how to navigate their platform, which can be quite tricky. Moreover, they use the callsigns of radio stations, which can further complicate finding the data you need, because you’re most likely not going to be familiar with those.
12.   SpotonTrack (http://spotontrack.com)
a.   Sends you daily reports of Spotify and AppleMusic tracking data for a song. Useful for playlist updates!
b.   Drawbacks: Only lets you track one song for two weeks in the free trial, after that you’ll have to pay for the service. You could technically also monitor radioplay, but this is not available for free trial users.
13.   RadioMonitor (http://radiomonitor.com)
a.   This site shows you radio charts around the world, but can also provide aggregate data for particular regions.
b.   Drawbacks: Only useful once a song has started charting in airplay Top 10s.
14.   WARM Music (https://warmmusic.net/)
a.   Allows you to track radio play starting from 3E per month
b.    Drawbacks: Not sure how accurate their data is, though they monitor over 28000 stations around the world. When using the free trial from time to time, it always seemed somewhat limited and not in step with what other sites would say (i.e., currently it says Defenceless was only played 49 times in total over the past two weeks. We know this is not correct.).

Dragon Song
The 3E exam was Toyama’s most difficult day. Afterwards, he always had to do a difficult counseling and comfort session with all the students about their visions. And for some who didn’t make the cut, his sessions would include brainwashing and memory wiping to make them forget everything about Cassell so they could go home and continue their lives, ignorant of everything they experienced here.
He made his way back to his office and sat behind the desk.
He sighed and cleaned his glasses while he waited. No one ever knew what was going on in there. Only those who were monitoring with the cameras namely EVA. Whatever happened, the medical team was ready to take care of it.
But he felt the muscles in his neck were tense and his heart was beating faster than normal. His analytical brain told him he was worried about Tigre. Even though he told himself it was pointless to worry about him, that his fate was with the College now, he couldn’t stop.
So he spoke to himself in casual calm language. “I think its time to admit, that your care for that boy has gone beyond what is professional.” He slid the glasses onto his nose.
“You could barely leave him there properly without tears coming right? That’s why you left so abruptly. Right now the test is starting and his dragonblood is waking up. He might attack the students inside once he realizes what he is. And then he has no future. You tried. You did all you could. But it’s possible he was doomed from the start.”
“But the heart will do what it will do. Heh... you’re not immune, Toyoma-kun.” He chuckled to himself. “But you cannot drink. Your students will need you now more than ever. You can go drink later.”
The phone, a traditional rotary, rang loudly in the silence. He picked up. “Toyama speaking.”
The raspy inhale told him who was speaking. Schneider’s voice came over the earpiece, “I can patch you into the feed. I would like you to watch.”
“Watch the boy turn into a monster? I don’t think so...”
“That’s not what’s happening. I’ll send the link to your cell.”
Toyama’s cellphone let up and he cradled the landline against his ear while he clicked the link provided.
The video feed showed the classroom.
Normally the 3 E was absolute mayhem as each of the students’ minds were lost in the sound, like listening to a favorite song, the mind wandered and the body followed and they were compelled to write down their visionary inscriptions on the paper or on whatever other surface they could find. But what Toyama saw made his jaw drop in shock.
Tigre was singing.
He wasn’t just singing, he was singing with a smile of rapturous joy, tears pouring down his face. He wasn’t writing down his answers, he was singing them, speaking each dragon word in turn. As the dragon verses shifted, he would listen briefly and his eyes closed and he would hold in hands to his chest, his face beaming with joy before belting out a full throated perfect rendition of that Yanling.
Toyama felt his eyes burn and quickly blinked away tears for a moment. Relief washed over him like a flood and his smile started to echo Tigre’s. He felt proud that Tigre was succeeding. He wasn’t just performing well on the test, but he wasn't being violent. Quite the opposite. He was joyous, happier than Toyama had ever seen him.
But then in the next moment Toyama’s blood ran cold.
Dragon language wasn’t just words. They were commands. They could impose a rule upon an area to control the elements. They could command a forest to burn. They could command a storm, a drought, a flood, an earthquake, or lightning. Some abilities were so strong, they would destroy the user. If it wasn’t for the restriction placed on the use of this sacred speech by the College’s alchemical array, Tigre would have joyfully sang out and destroyed the entire college and possibly all of Chicago.
“Dear... God...” Toyama whispered. “Is he a Dragon King?”
“No. If he was, we would have erased him and shoved his body in the Ice Cellar. But he is a hybrid of Dragon King level resonance. He’s different from the other hybrids in other ways too. We’ve run other tests. Nothing about this man is natural... and yet everything is.”
“Is this why you have brought him here? Why you were interested?”
“I’m afraid that’s all I can tell you. We’re still studying. In the meantime, you should probably go out to meet him. He doesn’t have anyone else to talk to.”
Schneider hung up the phone. Toyama was brought back to reality. Yes he did feel fond of Tigre... but he was still a doctor and Tigre was his patient. He would have to carefully maintain his mind so he didn’t go berserk and bring ruin to the college. He stood up and made his way back to the library. When he came back outside, the thunderstorm had intensified. Lightning cut across the sky and thunder roared, as thought the sky itself were cracking apart. The trees swayed heavy in the wind.
----
When Tigre came out of his trance, his throat hurt, his jaw hurt and his face was sticky with tears. He was shaking and exhausted. He wasn’t at his desk any more but standing in the middle of the room. He wanted to see Toyama and tell him that he wasn’t mad at him for leaving him alone. So when he found him waiting outside, he ran up to him and hugged him, babbling uncontrollably all sorts of silly things while Toyama told him to get some rest while stroking his hair.
He suddenly realized after that that other students were filing out. All the other students looked exhausted and limp. He turned to them with a joyous face, but they all just flinched away from him, looking at him with tear streaked faces. Even Porsche, who seemed vibrant and sassy before, hugged her two sisters while crying uncontrollably. Celeste glared at him accusingly and Tigre flinched away.
“Don’t mind them. Most people don’t experience joy like yours.” Toyama pulled him away from the other students. “I will have to go help them with their feelings.”
Tigre was confused. Why would anyone be sad about what he’d just heard? “Toyama-san, I saw something amazing. You knew right? You knew what I was!”
“I had no idea exactly what you were.” Toyama said patiently. “No one did. Your vision is one that’s personal to you, something deep in your heart.”
Tigre reached up and touched his chest. “But... I don’t have anything there.”
“Maybe that’s...” Toyama wanted to say ‘for the best’ but he didn’t finish his sentence. “I have to go. You’re a student now, so you’re free to roam about as you like. Stay out of trouble. Okay?”
“Okay...” Tigre said meekly and watched Toyama walk towards the three sisters. Only Celeste wasn’t crying, she only looked extremely angry.
No one was happy, except for him.
He walked out to stare at the pouring rain in the entrance. He looked up at the sky that also seemed to be sad. But why? Those voices in his head were still ringing. He could recite every single word. But he whispered them, staying quiet. He continued to whisper those sacred words into the grey. They were still beautiful in his ears.
“Do you not have an umbrella?”
His dampened mood rose again! “Chu Zihang!”
Without thinking he hugged the flinching man who just tolerated it.
Tigre released him quickly. “Oh... I’m sorry.”
“It’s normal to be emotional after this. I’m happy you made it. The results will take a few hours to process, but Schneider sent me to congratulate you. He’s my mentor.” Chu Zihang’s eyes were dark and not the yellow he remembered.
“You wear contacts too.” Tigre realized.
“Yes. Toyama explained?” Chu Zihang raised his umbrella. It was large enough for both of them as they walked. He was calm like a granite stone. Tigre was a raw nerve of emotion.
“Yes. I remembered looking into your eyes and feeling something through them like what I heard today. No wonder I recognized you! You  really are my brother! But for the other students, they were very sad. I don’t... understand why...” He looked back at the Library that was shrouded in the rain.
“You’d have to ask them personally. I can’t speak for them. When my dragonblood awoke, I saw a very disturbing image myself. And then something tragic happened. So that memory is sad for me too.”
“Is that why its raining?” Tigre mumbled.
Zihang tilted his head. “I don’t think emotions can effect the weather. Though many people associate rain with sadness. In truth a tropical wave has been pushed up from the gulf by the jet stream.”
“Oh.” Was all Tigre should say, understanding nothing.
“You’re still shaken up. Let me get you something to eat. You’ll be hungry.”
"Ah! You’re right! My stomach is growling a lot!” Tigre said in shock.
“You must have resonated very strongly. You were just standing there in the entrance to the library staring into space and now you didn’t realize you were hungry...”
“It was wonderful.” He breathed. “I wish I could listen to it again. I’ll listen to it forever.”
Chu Zihang glanced down at him and didn’t comment.
“Have you been out of the hospital long? Why didn’t you visit me?” Tigre bounced along deliberately splashing in the puddles.
“I was recovering still and then after that, Schneider kept me updated on your progress. I couldn’t visit you because visits were not permitted while you adjusted to life outside of prison.”
“Oh... we’re going to your dorm?” He asked recognizing the residential building.
“Yes. I want to introduce you to a few of my friends. One of them, Lu Mingfei is also looking forward to seeing you.”
“Oh Okay... neat.”
Chu Zihang opened the door to the dorm and there were many people there! It was like a party! When he saw all these people. He was moved to tears again! He covered his eyes with his arm. “Sorry!”
One of them, a dark haired Chinese boy chuckled. “Don’t worry. Everyone cried at my 3E. You’re fine.”
Chu Zihang introduced him. “This is Lu Mingfei. He’s the president of the Student Union...”
“Kinda sorta... really I just kinda hang out here while other people do things for me.” He said bashfully.
A tall muscular blond grinned. “I’m Finger Von Frings.”
“And I’m Susie. Congratulations. Sounds like you passed.” She was a petite Chinese girl, making her the third Chinese in the group.
“I’m Zero. Pleasure.” Said a soft spoken blond girl with a Russian accent, who looked bored to be there.
“This is for you.” Chu Zihang handed him a small box covered in paper and a ribbon, like one of those Christmas gifts he’d seen in pictures.
“Thank you... can I open it?”
“If you want.” Chu Zihang mumbled.
Tigre pulled the ribbon and then opened the box after carefully shredding the paper. Inside was a brand new tablet computer. “It will be useful for studying.”
“Wow... thank you!” He laughed. Then he paused. “What is it?”
