his mane and hair are pink! I love his fuzzy round tummy

and he’s got some tattoos now too, dandelions on the arms and across his chest, and a bit of clover on his back

I really enjoyed sketching his tattoos. I was loosely inspired by art nouveau style flowers and delft pottery

#pan draws #pan designs #zine #zines #this one was very fun even though it killed me a bit <- guy who had too much shit to do #the cover (spread 1) and album covers are linocut. the album/band names + reviews are 3d-printed plates #the whole thing was ran through a letterpress machine in 2 passes—first pass was the black ink and second pass was the pink ink #there r two variants! the one here is on gray ingres paper but theres another version on white masa paper that also has blind deboss #theres like. 22 total in this edition. maybe i'll open shop for these guys. it was fun #i enjoy carving blackletter typefaces looking forward to doing more o7

Sealed all the cracks with Liquid Nails and patched the remaining bubbles from the last Bondo sanding. 24 hour cure time and rain tomorrow.... Gonna be busy this week, so might not get it sanded again until next weekend. Dying to know if the Liquid Nails will fix the segment cracks or not but I won't know until it's sanded 😒

I considered 3D modeling a specialized trowel to make applying Bondo to the side plate layers easier because my putty knife does a shit job at it, but I have to resist the temptation. Literally no one is going to be able to tell if the side layers have layer lines or not from the 3D printing process. But I'll know...

#3d printing tag #photopost #Thought I'd just make a big rectangle then use a boolean to carve out the shape of the layers #Then I'd just have to apply Bondo + slot it into the grooves and then pull it through until smooth #Still gotta find a post with a chain link through it to replace the crappy 3D printed one too #The one on the actual in-game model doesn't fit through the post. It hovers there and I don't think it's animated either #Which means not only does it defy gravity but it's also stiff and unaffected by it #Having a hell of a time finding or making one of my own though #Thought maybe there'd be some kind of farm equipment for looping small rope through or something #But there doesn't seem to be... Fabricating a metal one would be too hard with the tools I have too #Thought about 3D printing one. Not sure how that'd print though #The loop would have to print going through the post already #OR I could print a post with a hole and then make the 'chain' part two halves that then glue together through the hole... Hm.... #That might be the best option... It'd be lighter than metal too...

creating physical and digital media scratch WAY different itches its so unfair

#i have the urge to paint but i want actual paint but uh. i dont have any lol #i have a bunch of wax i COULD mold some for carving but i'd also need to makeshift a bunch of carving tools #not the worst thing to get up to but making tools ergonomic is annoying #ahhhh cest la vie #what i actually want is workable waxed yarn but beeswax is too hard to make it sticky i need uh paraffin wax for that. #making a 3d model out of yarn for donut makes drawing him wayyyy easier #ive thought about the viability of using the beeswax to 'set' waxed yarn sculptures but i worry it would melt the paraffin #make it undo itself #won't know until i remember to get some and try #i would still love to work with paint to be clear just. if i had to pick one lol #phlyaros' nonsense

Want to build your own Piano Coat Rack?

I put together some plans for the Piano Coat Rack so that if anyone else wants to try to make one they have a starting point. I ended up putting them on itch.io for free since tumblr doesn't really like PDFs or zip files. The plans are free for non-commercial use. I also have a section describing some of the process to hopefully make it fairly easy to replicate.

I put these plans together in FreeCad, so along with a PDF version of the technical drawings there are also full 3D models that you can use to get a better understanding of how it goes together. If you notice any oddities or mistakes or have any question please just me up!

Also if you make one please tag me, I would love to see it!

Fichtenfoo designs some very cool 3D printable dolls that I would love to use in customizations some day. I’d need someone to print it, but since they can be printed at multiple scales it seems like it would be relatively easy to print pieces and combine them with other dolls
