In 1963 Dr. Thomas Starzl performed the first five liver transplants , one patient bled to death on the operating table the other four died within days as a result the operation was considered to dangerous to be performed on humans and liver transplantation was suspended world wide for the next four years it wasn't exactly an auspicious start for a surgery that has saved countless lives.

progress doesn't happen overnight and set backs are all but inevitable, sometimes it can make you feel like psysofis endlessly pushing the same boulder up the same hill , but where would we be if Dr. Starzl hadn't persevered to perfect the Liver Transplant? If he had let the setbacks win. As tempting as it can be to throw in the towel , sometimes you have to take the obstacles as they come and find a new path forward

We started 18 months ago in with thieves in Afghanistan, and Kasie wanting to throw a surprise birthday party for Ducky (adorable). It was great to see Dr. Grace, who had an ominous backstory plot revealed, and the sound the liver probe made hitting the body in the cemetery was amusing. Parker presumably coming back from Vance’s office after the televised interview was funny, as was him and Jimmy’s discussing the stones. Ducky imparted some wisdom, and how does he not know about the Little Mermaid- a story about Hans Christian Andersen would’ve fit right in. Parker trying to deny knowledge of Ducky’s surprise party was funny, Ducky’s friends complemented him well, and Torres tried to fight off Dr. Grace’s attacker. Parker’s stone puns were great, and it was sweet to see Knight worried about Torres- they do have a good friendship. Torres and Dr. Grace got trapped in cages like animals in a zoo, and he got shot by one of the treasure-hunting bad guys. The team on the warpath looking for Torres and Dr. Grace was great, and her explaining the meaning behind the picture was heartbreaking. The emphasis on mental health was good, as was Dr. Grace knocking out the would-be dead guy, mind-gaming Moretti, and saving the day. Ducky surprising everybody at his own party was great, and it was nice to end the episode on a bittersweet note, with learning more about Dr. Grace and Torres actually being sincere for once. This was a great episode, and i love this season’s focus on characters- not just the main cast, but guest stars too.

First things first: f*ck off, Lucas. Seriously, f*ck off! How dare you? I'm not at all for physical violance, but if Mika had punched you in the face, I would have cheered. And Simone can go too, she didn't even know what this was about. I mean it, I'm so done with these two.

I'm not sure how to feel about that new ped's surgeon, but I do see potential (and not just about becoming Amelia's new love interest - there I said it). Her teaching style reminds me of Arizona, which could be good.

I never cared for Nico, so I was kinda blah about his return. Jo was right though: if you want to win, you have to play the game.

The case with that guy being trapped was classic Grey's. My fav part was when they entered the hospital. Damn, that intern can scream, lol! Winston and Maggie finally being over seems like a good thing to me. She's not even on the show anymore, and maybe as a stand-alone he can finally get interesting.

Talking about not being on the show: what's the deal with Ellen/Meredith?! They made this whole big deal about her leaving, but she never did, did she? Okay, she was away for a few eps (yet still doing the voice-over!), but hardly longer than any actress's maturnity leave, and ever since she's like... constantly here!? I just don't get it...

Anyway, looking forward to next week, when the one and only Arizona will be visiting!!
