I want to like Link and Jo. Well, let me be honest: I like Link and Jo. I like that Link liked Jo when they were younger but never acted on his feelings. I like that Jo has found someone who wants to treat her well after all the heartbreak and trauma she has survived. I like that Link has someone who values him, too.

However, I'm still stuck on Link & Amelia and, more importantly, Jo & Alex.

I don't want to see Link and Amelia get back together. I don't even think there's a path to that, frankly. I just wish their relationship hadn't imploded the way it did because they were SO GOOD together there for a while. As Amelia Shepherd's #1 fan, it felt the BEST to see her happy and in love then. Of course, I went on to really like Kai and Amelia's relationship, and I can't wait to see what's next for Amelia in Grey's Anatomy Season 20 (!!!).

But it's still such a weird sore spot: Amelia and Link's dynamic. There's still a lot that feels unresolved there—not romantically, just interpersonally. So I'm curious to see what comes of that moving forward, if at all. I know there's a clip of Jo and Amelia talking in the trailer, which I absolutely want to see more of, regardless of their connection to Link. But I also just want to see Link and Amelia interact.

As for Jo, everything ended abruptly with Alex. And I don't envy the writers for having to come up with a story that makes even a little bit of sense, tries to be honest to the characters, or sets up future stories in writing Alex out after spending so much significant time developing that character. That sounds like quite the challenge.

But it seems difficult to move on from Jo and Alex even seasons later, which may always be the case. And that speaks to how impactful of a relationship it was for those two characters — and the viewers. That relationship (up until its end and maybe even because of it) is one of Grey's Anatomy's most iconic relationships.

I don't know what the point of this post is, really. I just have a lot of Grey's Anatomy thoughts and feelings. What's new?!

Predictions for Grey’s tonight/this season:

I think Kwan feels the same as Millin, but I think he’s not going to say it. If he TRIES to, I think they’ll be interrupted, and it’ll lead to conflict for the two of them all season

Helmika are going to sneak around and there will be several funny scenes that come from it

Lumone is going to have hella miscommunication all season but officially get together by the end of S20 or S21

Jolink might fight this season, but I don’t think they’re gonna break up. I think their build up era is over and they won’t break up until after they’re married and get a divorce. I love them but also it’s Grey’s and divorce is inevitable for most couples

When Nico comes back this season, Schmidt is either 1) not going to get back together with him or 2) going to wait a while before he’s willing to try again (as he should)

I think Capshaw will only be back for one ep, but I think we’re going to get a calzona endgame confirmation. I also think they might write something in about them adopting more babies

Amelia is definitely getting together or at least sleeping with that new peds surgeon (at least I think she’s a peds surgeon) from the trailer

I still think Catherine is going to die at some point this season, especially with Richard already on the edge. (And I stand by the delusion that this will lead in to a japril spinoff)

I think that we’ll have more returning guest stars than Arizona and Nico this season, but I think they’ll be unannounced (I think it’s POSSIBLE we might see a Yang surprise appearance because of Teddy)

I don’t think Teddy will die, but I think that if Yang shows up (which is a big if) she might go to Switzerland

I think that when they finally make Meredith and Nick official, she’ll be gone for good except a few guest star episodes

I don't know if you watched the new greys episode, but jolink continues to make me think about buddie at every turn, please tell me is not just me aoskaosk

Okay so honestly I was in a bad mood when I started the ep, so my initial reaction to jolink was that they were annoying me oops xD

But! They did get better, and I liked how it was kind of tension in their relationship without any threat to their relationship if that makes sense?

But also yes, the whole stepping in and 'helping out' while someone hits on you thing screams eddie when taylor talks to buck in dosed xD I can totally imagine when they get together, eddie just bringing up that moment in a similar way to link xD

Kind of related: why are they currently 2/2 on giving Amelia storylines with her exes and their new partners this season??? I loved it in 20x01 with Owen, but she kind of just third wheeled jolink this ep and it felt weird to me? Especially when she ended up talking to Jo at the end and I know she was like 'well obviously you know this, you've known him for years more than I have' but it still felt strange to me

Like I had so much hope after the ending of 20x01 that she would get a good arc of her own this ep but nope

(Although they did give her a cat which I love xD and she mentioned Kai which made me cry a little!!!)
