Just look at the drama category —

Note the loooong list of entries (Big Sky being one of them).

I don’t see The Boys or anyone from the boys being predicted as a nominee. If they do get voted — that WOULD be amazing bc the members of the TV academy voted for that entry enough times to score a nomination seat.

But otherwise, is anyone really surprised that Kripke would submit Jensen (his “boy” and boner for crush) for consideration. And really wouldn’t surprise me if Jensen submitted his entry himself. $300 is pocket change for him or Kripke, and a lot of actors submit their own entries for consideration.

Drama Predictions

Lead Actor and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Predictions

It looks like nearly every show that falls remotely under the drama category is listed as a consideration, and it's some tough competition this year. These predictions seem fairly accurate. Plus, like others have shared, TB season 3 wasn't as good as the first two, and it aired shortly after the previous years Emmy submissions closed, which means it's not as prevalent in the minds of voters. I'll definitely be surprised if there are any major nominations for The Boys.

(Not surprised at all either Jensen or Kripke added his name to the list. Thankfully, the other actors were also added, otherwise it might look like even more favoritism that I'm sure TB actors would love. /s/)

(But why aren't Walker and WIndy on the list of possible Dramas?)

2023 Emmy Hopes and Predictions

Best Drama Series:

Prediction: Succession

Rooting For: Succession

Best Actor in a Drama Series:

Prediction: Bob Odenkirk (Given the amount of nominations and lack of awards Better Call Saul and Bob Odenkirk have received, I could see them giving him one for the final season- as a sort of overall achievement nod).

Rooting For: Kieran Culkin

Best Actress in a Drama Series:

Prediction: Sarah Snook

Rooting For: Sarah Snook

Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series:

Prediction: Matthew McFadyen

Rooting For: Matthew McFadyen or Will Sharpe (how weird is it that this entire category is entirely split between two shows! No complaints here though, I’m a massive fan of both Succession and The White Lotus).

Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series:

Prediction: Jennifer Coolidge or Elizabeth Debicki

Rooting For: Jennifer Coolidge or J. Smith Cameron (I would love to see J. get recognized and I’m also always happy to see Jennifer win, it adds spice to otherwise slightly repetitive award shows).

Best Comedy Series:

Prediction: The Bear

Rooting For: Barry or The Bear (although it’s kind of absurd that both of these are considered comedies, especially given Barry’s last two seasons- if it’s still sorted as a comedy, you might as well put Succession in the same category).

Best Actor in a Comedy Series:

Prediction: Jeremy Allen White or Jason Sudeikis (my money’s on Jeremy Allen White, but Emmys often go to Ted Lasso).

Rooting For: Bill Hader or Jeremy Allen White

Best Actress in a Comedy Series:

Prediction: Quinta Brunson

Rooting For: Natasha Lyonne (honestly, Im a little embarrassed to admit that I haven’t seen Poker Face, I just really like Natasha Lyonne, and from what I’ve seen and heard she’s been killing it in that show).

Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series:

Prediction: Ebon Moss- Bacheach or Phil Dunster, but this one’s a little more up in the air (definitely someone from the big three- Ted Lasso, The Bear, or Abbott Elementary)

Rooting For: Anthony Carrigan or Henry Winkler. I mean no disrespect, but it’s been kinda painful for me as a Barry fan to watch these two incredible talents get passed over year after year for actors who frankly aren’t even operating on the same level as them (Ie: playing caricatures, winning for a series that doesn’t require/draw on any range, nuance, or dramatic acting). That being said, if it goes to Ebon, I’ll be genuinely delighted for him.

Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series:

Prediction: Sheryl Lee Ralph or one of the Ted Lasso ladies

Rooting For: Ayo Edebiri

Best Limited or Anthology Series:

Prediction: Beef or Dahmer

Rooting For: I’m rooting for those two as well- I thought Beef was great, and while I haven’t seen Dahmer (and am not in any way commenting on the ethics of its existence) from what I’ve read, it’s extremely well made, well acted, and does a stunning job exposing the details of the case.

Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie:

Prediction: Steven Yeun

Rooting For: Evan Peters or Steven Yeun. Again, as I stated before, I thought Beef was great, and it’s hard to deny how insane Evan’s performance was.

Best Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie:

Prediction: Ali Wong

Rooting For: Ali Wong, but sadly Beef is the only one I’ve seen, and I don’t really know enough about the other shows to be able to comment on them. That being said, I really admire every single one of these actresses and would be really happy to see any of them win!

**Since I’ve hardly seen any Limited Series, I won’t be doing any comments or predictions on the smaller categories here**

Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series:

Prediction: Nick Offerman

Rooting For: This is another weird category limited to two shows- The Last of Us and Succession! Both of which I love, so I’d be super happy to see any of these wonderful actors win, but especially Nick Offerman, James Cromwell, or Keivonn Montreal Woodard!

Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series:

Prediction: Melanie Lynskey

Rooting For: Hiam Abbass. This category is also totally split between The Last of Us and Succession, so same as the other weird ones, I’d be really happy for any of these actresses.

Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series:

Prediction: Pedro Pascal perhaps?

Rooting For: Jon Bernthal (but I love Pedro Pascal as much as the next person, I’d be absolutely delighted to see him win)

Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series:

Prediction: This ones sorta up in the air as well, so I’ll just go to my defaults, either Taraji P. Henson or one of the Ted Lasso ladies!

Rooting For: Becky Ann Baker

hi ranboo enjoyers and genlosers, you may have heard but generation loss: the social experiments is predicted to be nominated for a WHOLE EMMY! for “emerging media program” in the creative arts section! the voting to choose nominees closes tonight at 10pm pst, so right now is time to promote generation loss as much as you can :D

i have some predictions about how they'll craft the emotional trajectory of season 2 from the book and it hinges on maximum devastation. since it aligns with the book maybe this is less of a prediction post and more of a 'this is the devastation i'm mentally preparing myself for' post

-blood-starved and crazy Lestat sets Claudia's trial into motion, Armand having him believe its the only way to save Louis. Louis finds this truly unforgivable.

-during the trial, Lestat has a 'Louis come with me, lets leave this place, leave Claudia' moment and Louis refuses and has a big horrifying agonizing monologue telling Lestat all the many ways that Lestat broke him and Claudia (perhaps hysterically and in a terror as he tries to save Claudia during the trial, sort of like an 'after everything he did to us he deserved it' argument in her defense). this will obvi get JA his first lead actor Emmy nom, then

-this monologue and Claudia's murder will be the catalyst of honest Realization for Lestat in regards to his crimes but by that point Louis will want nothing to do with him, then

-Lestat will go to Armand begging for his blood, crying about how much he loves Louis and how he understands now and needs to make amends and how he wants to be better for him. Lestat is completely unraveled, insane, disgraced, and ashamed. SR Emmy supporting actor nom perhaps? then

-Armand delivers some truly sinister and biting lines to Lestat telling him he doesn't deserve Louis and never did, that he's a monster, and that his story with Louis is OVER over but he promises (sardonically) that he'll take great care of Louis (wink*) (*the wink indicates that he's gonna fuck his husband real good every single night for the next hundred years)

-le push

-Armand tells Louis hey babe you did accidentally kill Lestat when you went crazy and burned down the theater :/

-Louis goes catatonic under the weight of the deaths of his daughter and husband

-by the 70s he's still angry at Lestat for the trial

-by 2023, Armand has told Louis the truth either about keeping Lestat captive and manipulating him, or setting Claudia's death into motion (or both)

-by the finale, its apparent that the grief and guilt and weight of memory is too much for Louis to live with anymore and he's going to do something about it

#i ~know~ there's going to be a dramatic emotional fall-out - confrontation? - scene between Louis and Lestat in Paris #a scene where the depth of Louis' pain is on full display and Lestat is seized with remorse #and it will leave me in tears #iwtv #interview with the vampire #amc iwtv #yo mismo #yomismoiwtv

He DID it—John Mulaney has WON the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special! 🙌

As you all know, I adore John (he's my third favorite comic), and I was able to see a version of this show when it was called From Scratch back in 2021 with my ex-husband (so...awhile ago haha).

I'm planning to do some articles about John in the near future. If you have any suggestions/requests, please let me know!

Oh, and Demetri Martin month fell apart (I was battling some seasonal depression amongst other things), but I do plan to focus on him in March.

Congrats to John on his well-deserved win (and another comedy special nabbing an Emmy that's connected to Bo haha).

I'm also psyched my prediction in July 2023 came true—Baby J was always my top choice! ✌🏼🐔
