The rule is indeed one you’re most strict about, made after an ill-fated night where Jungkook sub-dropped hard and Jimin had no experience bringing him out of it—sending both boys into an anxiety attack. They were lucky you were in a position to drop everything and come home at that time, but it would be naïve to think that would always be the case.
Jimin holds Jungkook’s hand in his, giving it a reassuring squeeze.

Jungkook finally looks up, eyes pleading you to reconsider. Jimin’s shifting in his seat, not sure if he can handle one of your harsher punishments at the moment.

SANDY HOOK: ORDER OF EVENTS
From the morning of the shooting until his suicide. All timings are in EST. Not accurate, I wasn't there. "???" means I'm not sure where they come on the timeline.
BEFORE 0930: At their home on 36 Yogananda Street, Lanza shoots his mother (Nancy) in the head four times with a .22-caliber Savage mark II rifle, killing her in her bed while she's still in her pyjamas. He leaves the rifle near the bed. He takes drives a black 2010 Honda Civic (Connecticut registration 872YEO, bought for him by his mother) to Sandy Hook Elementary.
AFTER 0935: Lanza arrives with his mother's Bushmaster XM15-E2S semi-automatic rifle, a Glock 10mm semi-automatic pistol and a Sig Sauer P226 9mm semi-automatic pistol. He leaves an Izhmash Saiga-12, 12 guage semi-automatic shotgun in the car. He shoots through the glass panels of the locked entrance doors. Shots are heard on the school's intercom.
Several faculty members were in a meeting when the shooting began. They heard gunshots but were unsure of what it was. Principal Dawn Hochsprung, the school psychologist Mary Sherlach and the lead teacher Natalia Hammond go out into the hall to investigate the sound and see Lanza.
They yell, "Shooter! Stay put!", the janitor Rick Thorne yells, "Put the gun down!"
Lanza kills Hochsprung and Sherlach. Hammond is shot in the leg, and then again. She lies still until Lanza leaves. She crawls back into the conference room and uses her body to keep the door closed.
Lanza yells, "Put your hands up!". Someone yells, "Don't shoot!" Gunshots, screaming and yelling can be heard over the intercom.
A substitute kindergarten teacher closes a door down the hallway, and gets hit in the foot with a bullet that ricocheted.
Lanza enters the main office. He stands in the room for a few seconds, but then turns around and goes back into the hallway. Another janitor, Rick Thorne, runs through the hallways to alert people.
First-grade teacher Kaitlin Roig hides 15 students in the bathroom. She barricades the door and tells them to be silent. Black construction paper was still covering the window in the classroom door from a previous lockdown drill. Lanza does not try to enter the classroom.
Lanza enters Room 8, a first-grade classroom, while the substitue teacher Lauren Rousseau was trying to hide students in the bathroom. He kills Rousseau, as well as Rachel D'Avino (a behavioural therapists for special needs students) and 15 of her students (one who died in the hospital), most of them crowded in the corner of the bathroom. Only one student survives by playing dead, a 6-year-old girl.
A boy screams, "Help me! I don't want to be here!" Adam responds with "Well, you're here." More gunshots.
Lanza goes into Room 10, another first-grade classroom. Two things could've happened: 1) Teacher Victoria Leigh Soto hides some students in the closet or bathroom, while other students hide under desks. As Soto goes to lock it, Lanza enters. As he walks to the back of the classroom, he sees the children under the desks and shoots them. Student Jesse Lewis yells at his peers to run and some listen. Lewis looks at Lanza as he is shot dead. 2) Soto moves the children to the back of the classroom as they sit on the floor. Lanza stares at them and points his gun at a boy but does not fire. The boy runs out of the classroom.
Soto tells Lanza that the children are in the auditorium. Some children come out of their hiding spots and try to escape, and are killed. Soto puts herself between Lanza and the students, and is killed. Anne Marie Murpy (special education teacher for Soto) covers 6-year-old Dylan Hockley. They are both killed. In total, 5 of Soto's students were killed (one pronounced dead at the hospital). 9 students escape. 6 escape either while his weapon jammed or while he was reloading and hide at a nearby home with a school bus driver. 2 of them were found hiding in the bathroom.
???: Library staff Yvonne Cech and Mary Ann Jacob try to hide 18 students in a part of the library used for lockdown practice drills. One door won't lock, so the children crawl into the storage room. Cech barricades the door with a filing cabinet.
???: Music teacher Maryrose Kristopic barricades fourth-graders in a small supply closet. Lanza bangs on the door, "Let me in." ???: Two third-graders, chosen classroom helpers, were going to the office to deliver the morning attendance sheet. A teacher, Abbey Clements, gets them into her classroom.
A reading specialist, Laura Feinstein, gets 2 students from outside her classroom. They hide under the desks. Feinstein attempts to call 911, but her cell phone has no reception. 5 bullets are shot at three cars parked outside from classroom 10.
9:40:03AM: Lanza shoots himself in the lower rear portion of his head with the Glock 20SF in classroom 10. The Glock was found near him, jammed. The rifle was several feet away. The SIG Sauer had not been fired and was still on him.

Next Tournament Ideas
Hello! It's been a while since we've had a Sonic Ship Battle and sadly it'll probably still be more towards February/March time before my schedule clears up enough to run another one. I'd love to have a tournament running for Valentines Day, but I'm not sure if that'll be possible rn
However, I am hoping to do another one of these in future, so I thought I'd do an early poll to try to guage interest in a lot of different themes. Now, this isn't a case of "whichever wins, the tournament will definitely be about that" but instead is more so I can get an idea of the kind of numbers for the themes that people are more interested in and also to see if there's still enough interest in this blog in general to make running another tournament worthwhile
ALSO, I know there are a lot of options missing. Any character not included here hasn't been ruled out, it's just that tumblr only allows 12 options on polls. If there is something not listed here that you'd like to see done, feel free to let me know and I'll add it onto my list of ideas

Is there a reason firearms aren't really a thing in the amber skies setting? I feel like a suppressed carbine or something like that would be a really good tool for shaft divers and the like, and people are grafting exoskeletons to themselves (and maintaining them) and synthesizing chemicals in their body, it doesn't seem out of the scope for the societies we've seen
They're present, just rare. The reasoning being rigs and advanced medical technology. Additionally, advances in metallurgy have made ballistics and explosives only situationally effective.
Rigs allow combattants to stay upright and effective through antipersonnel wounds. Additionally, advances in medical technology make most bullet wounds relatively simple and cheap to fix.
Additionally, even most biological life has adapted an adrenal response to injury that triggers a sort of explosive cellular regeneration. Makes bullets significantly less effective.
You need anti-material rounds to deal effective damage, and that comes with vastly increased weight and expense. Additionally, explosive rounds make their magazine a juicy target.Disabling a rigged opponent really only ends with decapitation, thus the supremacy of high-energy cutting tools.
Even civilian hunting rifles under the amber sky hover around the 50. Cal and 12-guage solid slug end of things. Firearms are generally bolt action or breech loaded. Fully automatic firearms are generally considered the purview of ultraheavy grade rigs and mech-mounted weaponry.
Firearms aren't uncommon either. There are several present in the novel. Generally, bullets are made with biological rounds, capable of producing powerful acids. Their combat role being to "soften" enemy combatants as they approach a fortified position.
It's also not uncommon for more agile skirmisher units to fight with a melee weapon in one hand, and a ranged weapon in the other, utilizing the firearm as both a ranged weapon, and as a sort of buckler, using the force of the weapons impact to parry blows for a riposte.

i’m a big slut for a bittersweet but hopeful ending rather than angsty ones!! like possibly my ghost jesper fic because the final scene is Quite Literally wylan dying but like, that’s kinda happy given context???

i am still personally enamoured with the vibes in the final scene of ACOTLD 🥰 and it makes me very happy! so! that one!
8. Do you get hate on fics?
uhhh most regularly i just get snarky gobshites trying to be like, clever and smug about shit, which never really works because i generally don’t care? but then also i sometimes get transphobic hate speech so idk 😅

i can't answer this non-sarcastically but like YEAH I'm a VERY HORNY WRITER and I feel like it says more about you than me if you haven't been able to guage that 😅 idk I have gotten a lot tamer though by including porn in longer fics compared to the very explicit collection of PWPs I used to write??
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
the closest i’ve gotten to crossover is sneaking shadow and bone characters into SOC fics! or like, the most subtle of references and cameos when I need random OCs like Easter eggs

a few times but i’ve always been vindicated by the fact they’ve never been well done? like it's always been word for word plagiraism (and also the ao3 abuse team is very good at taking things down)

not that i’m actually aware of! just podfics sometimes which has been nice 😊

never finished one but i’ve got 2-3 wips being co-written with my girlfriend atm 😊

I think my problem is that I'm delusional enough to think that I will finish literally all of the WIPs I have started and want to finish even though that's like, 100 fics or something idiotic 😅

Themes and foreshadowing I think!! Like running themes for sure but I've had definitive compliments on my plotting before! I also think I'm pretty good at dialogue, especially arguments, and narrative tension/feelings! 👀

i am not very good at cutting my darlings which means things get a bit meandering and diluted sometimes 😅
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
i can get behind it in certain circumstances! personal preference is to translate large chunks of text ie "'[English words],' he said in [language]" but I do write individual words like pet names in other languages
19. First fandom you wrote for?
fucking hetalia when i was like, 12 🫥 but i have also in past written for: homestuck, haikyuu, yuri on ice, the adventure zone (balance & graduation) and (CONSTANTLY forget this) miraculous ladybug! some of which are better than others ngl 😅
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
well this is like asking me to pick children & is also cruel when i have 230 of them klajdsfsadjfk UHHH? i mean this is wicked cheating but im really attached to the bridgerton au i haven’t actually finished yet! it’s fully written, but needs editing, and one that i really really like!! in terms of fics i’ve POSTED, i really like “not just girls” (trans egg wylan), “you yearn to feel no hunger” (SAB-verse coda/character study) and a real deep cut, “only imaginary people disappear to peru for ten years” (missing scene from the lost future of pepperharrow)! idk i like a lot of the fics i’ve posted which is a nice position to be in 😅

Decided to take a shot at my own interpretation of “FE Warfare Morality” and whatnot that the fandom is screaming about.
Pacifist: War is absolute last resort no matter what. Celica, Eirika and Corrin could all realistically move to Pragmatist-Retaliatory and fit, but I put them in their own pacifist tier because they all have multiple in-story instances of diplomatic attempts at ending conflict of varying success (sparing enemies, reasoning with bandits, sacrifice of self or possessions); too many to not go noted imo.
Pragmatist-Retaliatory: Diplomacy and peaceful solutions are preferred, but warfare isn’t shied away from. Well aware of war’s reality, and if push comes to shove, they will take up arms. Characters in this tier often had homes invaded and/or parents killed by main aggressor. Avenging homeland or kin may also play a part. Eliwood could actually move up to pacifist because he is that self sacrificing, but I think he fits more where he is. Alm could go to Circumstance or Martial, but idk, he’s willing to give Fernand the benefit of the doubt in Act 3 and outright sends Rudolf an offer of a peace accord in Act 4 so I put him here. Seliph could also go to Circumstance because his willingness to try diplomacy more or less comes after the deed is done (such as questioning having to kill certain people being a necessity), but since his mercy and desire to prevent/avoid conflict is a part of his character, I put him here.
Pragmatist-Circumstance: Views and actions in regards to war are dependent on circumstance:
Lyn offers no quarter to bandits, pirates, or absolutely anyone who harms her family or friends, but is fair to special cases like Jaffar and Nino and does have instances of reasoning with others.
Ike is a merc, so he often says how he feels doesn’t matter, but is regardless known to try and talk sense into people and be willing to smack folks around in equal measure.
Micaiah doesn’t like needless conflict but understands the necessity in toppling Begnion’s oppressive rule in Daein and is forced into becoming a ruthless general during Part 3.
Robin is similar to Ike, in that as a tactician his feelings don’t technically matter but is also known to value diplomacy or winning a battle depending on context.
Lucina isn’t really in the leadership position enough to make peaceful or action-initiative calls, and when she is the leader in Future Past, it’s against the undead and the very evil Grima. However, her attempted assassination of Robin and general mixed feelings on what she’d do to save the future is enough for me to put her here.
Ryoma can techinically be retaliatory, but his own ignorance and xenophobia towards Nohr often prevents him from being diplomacy seeking, such as in CQ chapter 12. Nevertheless, he’s diplomatic enough after character development that he’s more dependent on circumstance.
Xander actually encourages the diplomatic approaches of Corrin more than once, before route split and during Conquest and Revelation, the latter two which he’s also an active participant in. However, his complicated feelings in regards to Garon and Nohr leads him to do bad things in the belief that it’ll be worth it, so he’s also circumstance.
Azura values peace and is known to compliment successful diplomatic approaches; however, she often questions Corrin’s more naive choices, weaves some relatively cold and calculated plans of her own, and is known to justify conflict more often than Corrin does.
Byleth is hard to guage because his alignment is route dependent, and he more or less serves as a support for the actual main character of said route. Plus his status as a silent protagonist muddies the waters a bit. Still, there is difference enough between the lack of mercy given to the Agarthans and the merciful fights towards former students that lets him land here.
Pragmatist-Martial: Preference for action over treaty attempts or negotiation during wartime, however, that doesn’t mean diplomacy is outright disliked or not valued by them. Hector, Ephraim, and Chrom are all appreciative of how their siblings strive for peace, and the latter two even attempt to emulate such actions on occasion. Sigurd was more than happy to try and pull out of Agustria, but even then, his most common solution to injustice was always marching on the enemy. Leif from the jump was gung-ho about taking down the oppressive forces in Thracia and had to be mellowed out a tad. Dimitri during his descent on the Azure Moon route could fit here, too, though honestly he’s such a unique case. Rhea I would also put here, or maybe Circumstance.
A lot of characters in the Pragmatist-Circumstance and Pragmatist-Martial tiers could also be lumped into Pragmatist-Retaliatory by general technicality (e.g. lots of these characters had homes invaded so retaliation is the expectation), but I wanted to be specific in talking about attitudes towards warfare.
Emperor: It’s just Edelgard lol. Despite her words about “not wanting civilians harmed” or her claims about the war being the only option, it means nothing when her first action in the game is attempted assassination of two people who she (at least to her knowledge in Dimitri’s case) never met. The assistance in kidnapping, subterfuge, conspiracy, human experimentation, and of course the 5 year war which inflicts copious amounts of different harm on the populous also cements her place here.
Plus the devs outright compared her position to past FE villains where she’s different in that she’s 1) a woman and 2) playable, so the twist where she’s behind the war is more of a surprise.
So yeah, that’s my list. Though really, I think trying to fit characters into these types of boxes is kinda stupid in the first place because all the main characters are just that different due to the contexts of their stories, so it’s just generally impossible to make the kinds of compare-and-contrast tier lists like these. Except Edelgard because of her inciting conflict being the one thing no other lord ever does.
