One time I was walking thru the abandoned golf course near my house and I saw a bird sitting in a tree. Looked pretty normal but then it extended its neck like two feet??

i think there's a wonderful point here actually and it's that i have incredible friends who think of me when birds are brought up one way or another. and that you are so very sweet to bring this to me, like a corvid bringing gifts to a human that treated them well.

Had yet another goofy idea for the big happy Amalzuki family stuff!!!! Yay!!!!

So it’s just another wonderful day, nothing too big is happening, Amalzuki is taking one of her afternoon naps, Oberon and Titania are playing, and Iku is watching her favorite TV show.

Then, Titania and Oberon start screaming and Amalzuki and Iku rush to them because protective parents moment. Titania and Oberon are in visible fear, shaking and nearly crying as they hide behind their moms, they point at the dryer and say there’s a big bug behind it. Amalzuki and Iku sigh and give a “oh these kids” look at one another, and Amalzuki looks behind the dryer to get the bug and reassure Titania and Oberon.

And that’s when Amalzuki sees something fly at her in the darkness. She knows what it is now. It’s a roach. It latches on to her face and now she’s screaming alongside Titania and Oberon. Iku panics now and pulls out one of her revolvers and tells Amalzuki to hold still. And Amalzuki is like “YOU’RE GOING TO SHOOT ME???“ and chaos breaks loose as everyone is panicking, then the roach flies off while everyone is panicking. During the panic, one of Amalzuki’s familiars runs out of her Labyrinth… and eats the roach in mid flight, before walking back into the Labyrinth. Then Oberon starts screaming and crying going all like “NOOOO I DONT WANNA EAT ROACHES”

So put simply? More goofy chaos!!! Yay!!!

i love finding out how big this world is. my girlfriend has only visited boston a handful of times, but i grew up here. i told her we'd be going to do the tourist traps in salem, and she said - which salem?

to be fair to her, there are a lot of other states that have a town named "salem." and i think there's some evidence that the witch trials actually happened in what is now called Danvers. but the thing is - she thought "salem" was like, a made-up thing. there wasn't actually a salem, massachusetts - like there isn't a gotham city.

they don't talk about it that much where she grew up, is the thing! and this made me laugh. a week ago she was talking about her hometown and said something akin to "well the museum's kinda like the one in richmond," and i had to explain i still had no frame of reference for what the hell this museum was like.

i love finding out what knowledge i take for granted. i used to live with 5 other women. 3 of them were from south korea. they had to take, like, a solid fifteen minutes to explain their birthday system to my gay math-blind ass, laughing as they did.

that same month, our roommate from denmark taught me the danish word for wreath by accident - she'd been talking about decorations, used krans, and i'd been able to figure it out through context. i just picked it up and kept talking. our entire house used krans as the word. she came home and slammed the door one evening, mock-angry, shouting: you motherfuckers! it's a - a wreath!

and how often do you use certain words, anyway! i am cuban, so i was raised with certain spanish words sort of sprinkled in there; but never how you'd think. in middle school i asked someone to pass me the recogedor - in a completely american accent, like i was speaking english. i hadn't registered it as a spanish word. i mean, how often in school do you actually use the word "dustpan" - i'd only ever heard it in the context of cleaning my house.

there are places that you grew up that you, just, like, know. that you assume everyone knows. there are things and people and "common knowledge" that you have that, just, like. doesn't exist for me. i don't know what you call your public transportation system, but in boston we call it "the T". our train cards are called charlie cards because of a song where a father accidentally abandons his family, which was written because our system of transportation. in boston, most people would snort and say everyone knows that, kid.

i think you and i should go on a long walk - it's getting dark early these days and we need any sun we can manage. tell me about the first time you saw snow. tell me about the stuff everyone knows about your home. tell me about the cities "everyone's been to," about the food "everyone's already tried." who knows. maybe it will feel nice to you - watching someone learn about it for the very first time.

hey instead of bullying or scaring you into switching to firefox, let me tell you why i LOVE firefox and how my online life has improved significantly since installing it

- the setup process is easy, and even fun! if you’re using tumblr rn, you can handle it, and if you’re the kind of tumblr user who likes customizing your blog or tinkering with xkit, you can have a lot of fun personalizing really granular settings and picking themes and extensions and everything, it’s very customizable and i happily spent like 2 hours getting everything perfect.

- you can use a command line entry tool to change specific settings right from the search bar! i did this to make firefox stop auto filling my email information since i use a different password locker (which you should too! try bitwarden!), and it was easier than digging through a bunch of submenus for a setting i wasn’t sure existed. you can just turn shit off!

- there’s a preset theme called aurora that’s purple and VERY pretty

- once you get ublock origin and as many other blockers as you’d like set up, no ads, anywhere, ever! streaming sites, youtube, all the basics, totally no stress and no compatibility issues for me

- in browser screenshot and picture in picture functions!! holy shit i use these every day, the PiP is especially helpful, it replaced an extension i used to use on chrome and it’s leagues better and works on all video content pretty much

- overall better downloads management imo, it’s a lot easier to get to your downloads and find them later

- better bookmark system, with the ability to organize your bookmarks with searchable tags and assign them a shortcut you can type into the search bar to go to

- containers! you can have two accounts to the same website open in two different tabs and switch between them without having to switch accounts. also gives firefox the ability to contain facebook and their trackers, so you can click that party invite link without feeling like you just let mark zuckerberg into your house

these were just off the top of my head, i love firefox a lot and actively enjoy using it, which i never felt with chrome! please download firefox!! you will not regret it!!! where’s your fucking rage!!!!!! go!!!!!!!!!
