You've expressed a negative view of people looking at ur old hybrid ash au, but i can't really understand the genesis(?) Au without those posts. So if ur still interested in that AU i would appreciate a rundown of the concept and backstory and such things. However if not that is completely fine, no pressure

Honestly I think that frustration was partially from the story decisions I wanted to change and bc it was just. So long ago when I made that au. I get kind of ick about all my old content just bc I think I’ve grown as a storyteller yknow, whenever I think about it I just think of how I could improve it😭

Genesis is the version of the story I prefer just because Ash goes on his journey the same as in canon, and mewtwo is an antagonist for most of the series. The bulk of the plot is still the same

Mr Fuji from the first movie used to be colleagues with professor oak. When Amber died Oak stayed with Fuji to help with the cloning experiments as a show of support. He thought it’d help his friend through his grief and eventually enable him to move on, which didn’t exactly happen. Fuji became obsessed with bringing back his daughter via cloning, accepting funding from team rocket in exchange that he use the same process to make more powerful pokemon. Oak, mortified, quit the project and took all his work with him, assured that it wouldn’t be able to continue without it. That also wasn’t the case.

After the events of the cut backstory from the first movie (I tried to find the original clip I swear😭) Fuji used what was left of Amber, mew’s, and his own dna to make Ash, who he named Adam.

He was kept in stasis alongside Mewtwo for 5 years, when a spy for a rival organization to team rocket broke him out and escaped. But somewhere along the way the spy was intercepted, maybe killed, but either way left little Ash abandoned in the woods surrounding pallet town. He’d eventually be found and taken in by professor oak with assistance from Delia, unaware of his real origin.

That takes us to the original start of the series, Ash going off on his great adventure with pikachu and all that good stuff. The story carries on mostly the same as in canon with some exceptions.

Ash can communicate with pokemon fluently. This doesn’t mean they like him tho, he’s no N

Has stripe birthmarks all over his body which he hides (tying him to the first movie clones and explaining his little cheek things finally)

Has various strange tendencies that people brush off as the attributes of just being a weird child. He likes pokefood and sometimes tries to snack on it in secret. He can climb and run faster than the average person. He has a kind of 6th sense similar to other pokemon, etc. traits like those

He ages !!! At least a little. He’s 14 by the time hoenn occurs

Professor Oak is much more prominent as he’s like a father figure to Ash, looking out for him just as much as Delia has

Ash’s backstory is kept mostly to small hints and jokes until hoenn, where he and the audience learn he’s a clone. Team rocket becomes more focused on capturing him as Giovanni finally figured out the pint-sized brat who kept messing with his plans was the stolen bioweapon he’d lost almost 10 years ago (no thanks to the rocket trio)

Professor Oak had the thought in his head for years but didn’t want to entertain it. But as Ash was growing, facing new dangers and discovering new abilities that just weren’t human, Oak tested his dna in secret and it matched with mew. Ash and the gang visit and he learns the awful truth about what he really is.

From here on out the plot gets fuzzy, I haven’t thought through it all. Instead of his pokemon journey the show becomes about Ash learning how to hone in his hybrid dna, helping people and being on the run from team rocket. Mewtwo comes in later down the line.

So the backstory of the first movie happened, but not the movie itself. After mewtwo fled team rocket he went into hiding, scheming up ways to end the human race. When he finally reveals himself Ash rises to the challenge to stop him. They’re like dysfunctional siblings!!!

I hope this clears things up a bit. Again it’s been awhile since I’ve focused on pokemon things so my memory and understanding of lore can be iffy, I’ve just had this idea since I saw mewtwo strikes back as a kid and little me thought this would be The Shit

Have you noticed: for many precaps in the episodes when some serious shit is going on (ex : S5 ep41 on hotstar, police tell Arnav that Anju's car has been in an accident) they play a stupid bgm??? Like what!?

It's more Khushi pulling a prank or NK messing with Dadi than... idk Arshi escaping from kidnappers or Shyam planning to kill Anju lol

And it does not happen once or twice and as much as I understand they have to rush through final brushings by precaps but it takes away all the enthu I hold for the seriousness of the coming episode.

Lol I'd say those are editing issues. Like last minute they needed to send the edit to the channel to air it and couldn't probably find an audio clip so they made do with whatever clip they could find *lol*

I laughed at how they had edited the precap for the attempted consummation at the hut. I couldn't stop laughing cause it was literally intercut with the goons surrounding the hut. First of all, I can't think of sexy times if those goons are around *lol* and seriously, these guys are thinking of having sex when they should... RUN AWAY.

But sometimes I like watching the precaps cause they end up adding promos they've already shot or they add in another camera angle so I feel like I'm watching an extra moment of the show!!!

People who still hope for more clips, as if that'll somehow redeem this season or make it retroactively better, remind me of the BBC Sherlock fandom, who was so utterly disappointed by s4 that they came up with a conspiracy theory claiming that there was a secret, good 4th episode that would explain the mess that was the finale because "that can't possibly be the end!!" Of course there wasn't, and all we learnt was that Moffat can't write women and that he believes his own myth, sounds familiar?

okay guys, buckle up your seat belts cause anon and I have a story to tell: so basically if you know anything about BBC Sherlock the thing is that we would get three (3) 1,5h long episodes every 2-3 years so it was a pretty big thing and everyone was waiting for it. Flashforward to January 2017 when season 4 was released and it was just... so bad. Like so so bad. Literally nothing made sense. Everything was ooc. The cases were so dumb and dull. The characters got destroyed and killed for nothing. It was absolutely awful. But nothing, absolutely nothing, could have prepared us for the final episode that was just the absolutely worst thing ever. So the writers thought they’re doing some pretty great thing that’s Superior and So Clever and in reality it turned out to be some crack fic au. Quite literally cause there were even nightmares and clowns and roleplay and disguising as old sea pirates??? And then suddenly Sherlock had a secret sister that was The Most Clever person ever and her name was basically East Wind but in Greek??? And she was locked up in a glass cage on this island and there wasn’t any access to it and they found themselves there for some reason and I don’t really remember what was the point of this plot but then there were some flashbacks or not really flashbacks and Moriarty was there cause he was brought to her as a Christmas present??? Anyway there was this whole thing that basically Sherlock didn’t remember shit cause his brother brainwashed him so he could forget traumatizing events from his childhood and all the time he was thinking about his dog Redbeard it actually turned out that what he thought was a dog was actually his friend, like you know an actual human being, whom his sister threw into a well and left there to die??? And basically the ending of this episode that was like a 20 second long montage of Watson and Holmes raising a kid together and solving crimes was a better season than those 3 episodes??

But anyway, the finale was SO BAD that absolutely NO ONE wanted to believe that that’s it. Like, the show has great writers! They care about the characters! They care about the fans! And then the whole thing began - people started going through the episodes and finding clues and there were some hints here and there, like a date on the billboard in one of the episodes, and then they thought they got this. This wasn’t the end. There will be another episode and it will turn out that the whole season 4 was actually a dream sequence and we’ll be transported back to the end of s3 (and when you remember that there was actually a special episode between s3 and s4 that was a dream sequence you realize that the show was just bad). So then with all those clues and metas, people checked the BBC tv programme and they got it! On the day that was on the billboard in the show and during the usual Sherlock slot, there was supposed to be a new show and - wait for it - the main character was supposed to be a retired army doctor! So if the metas weren’t convincing enough, that was the cherry on top and this way everyone believed that we will indeed get The Lost Special. So that day everyone tuned in and were anxiously waiting to see it... but then it turned out it’s a completely new show. Like. Just another tv show. And people were like “okay so this is it? that’s not possible right???? maybe it will swtich to Sherlock in the middle of the episode???” and so they watched and the main character was r*ped in the dark alley after 10 minutes??? And it all was just ?????????

And then it hit us. We were just clowns thinking that it was all a game and putting too much faith into the writers. It was on that day that the fandom has realized that the writers don’t care about the characters nor the fans. That they will never understand any of the criticism and they will never acknowledge it. That they will still go on and say how superior their writing is and how the season was amazing and if the viewers don’t understand it, then they’re dumb. It was on that day, January 22, 2017, that the fandom decided that s4 doesn’t exist. And that the show was ruined forever and nothing can fix it now because it’s already too late.

So seeing how people are delusional now... thinking that we might get more clips or some special episode, it just makes me sad cause I’ve been there already, I went through it once and there’s no way in hell I’m gonna put myself in this mess again. And like you said, no extra clips or special episodes can fix it. What’s done is done and the damage is there and it’s too late now. And to everyone else - listen to me and the nonnie, old Sherlockian veterans, when we tell you this: the writers don’t care. They don’t care about you. They don’t care about the characters. They don’t care about the show. They only care about the fame and the praise. There won’t be any special episode. It’s better to expect the worst than end up disappointed like we did when it turned out that The Lost Special wasn’t about the special, additional episode. It was about us. We were special. And they lost us.
