Thank you for taking your time to check my requests. I know my requests can sound a bit tricky, but please don’t be discouraged. I wish you will have good time writing first and foremost!

Additionally, while I almost never request fanart as possible medium, because I prefer my main gift to be fic, I would be very okay with receiving fanart treats. Also, feel free to peruse my old letters if you get your hands on them. I never stop being interested in fandoms, and if I requested something once I will still want it in the future.

HONKAI STAR RAIL

Kafka/Stelle

I was down bad for Kafka ever since I first saw her and it’s no surprise that this ship quickly found a way into my heart.

I love Kafka’s manipulative demeanor, but also how she clearly cares about Stelle beyond just the grand plan they are both a part of. Or is that care also a part of an act? Who can tell? Certainly not Stelle, who is stuck trying to figure out Kafka

I honestly want to see more interactions from those two. Maybe Stelle, bored to death from waiting on Xianzhou’s bureaucracy to finally let her kick some ass, stumbles on Kafka and decides to try to get some answers from her rather than contacting Express. Will they go on a date, or maybe go on a mission together, or maybe there will briefly make out? So many options!

Or maybe for some reason Stelle gets briefly kidnapped by Kafka, and just because Stelle understands what Stockholm Syndrom is, doesn’t mean it’s easy to resist falling for her captor

What if Kafka broke into Simulated Universe with Silver Wolf’s help and added herself into the code. I’d love a story where Stelle keeps jumping into SU in order to meet virtual Kafka, hoping to gain some understanding of her and maybe getting some nice virtual gifts each time it happens

I also love the dichotomy they have going when it comes to their approch to destiny. Kafka describes herself as a slave to fate, while the protagonist despite being setup is clearly carving her own destiny as a Trailblazer and there’s just something really poetic about it. I feel like it’s that aspect of Stelle that makes Kafka smitten with her

AUs and ships

I’d rather avoid setting AUs for this canon, since I feel like it would be hard to replicate the elements that make this ship so fun. I’d however love any canon divergences. I’d love an AU where Kafka is a double agent and has separate identity as Stellaron Hunter and someone on the Express. Or maybe since Kafka has powers affecting mind, there’s some sort of mental link between the two of them.

I’d rather Stelle isn’t shipped with anyone else. I’m fine with background Bronya/Seel. Feel free to inquire about other background pairings

BUDDY DADDIES

Kurusu Kazuki/Suwa Rei

My platonic ideal of this series is the very first scene we see with the cool car chase and our two protagonists cornering their mark. Only for the tense interrogation they are putting their target through to get interrupted by phone call and an ensuing bickering because Miri had gotten sick and how dare Rei not notice. The guy they captured tries to use that moment to escape, only to get shot, since the protagonists don’t have time to deal with him anymore. They have sick child to take care of. And like, I enjoyed the rest of the series, but that one scene was just the undistilled essence of what I found the most entertaining.

I’m fine with both platonic and romantic take on Kazuki’s and Rei’s relationship. I just really enjoyed the domesticity they built up together and how grounded their relationship felt. Like, it obviously started from convenience with Kazuki having nowhere to go and Rei being completely unpreapared for living alone. But somewhere along their partnership, they forged a really strong bond where they both realize that they need each other, even if they don’t exactly put into words.

For more platonic prompts, I’d love to see the beginnings of their cohabitation. What sort of arguments they had at the start? What kind of compromises they had to make? We know that Rei tried to adopt a cat. Were then other attempts he made at having an animal? Did they acquire a cat after the event of canon? On that note, I’d love any exploration of what happened post-canon. How did their dinner operation start? Were they forced to use any of their assassin skills despite retirement? Did they develop a rivalry with a neighbourhood Italian restaurant that’s definitely not lead by some similarly retired mafia members? On similar topic, did Rei and Kazuki have scuffles with other assassin groups when they were still active? What if they had to compete with someone for the same target?

For more romantic prompts, I’d love exploration of how their cohabitation could turn into something more. As well as the two of them kinda finding the right shape of their relationship. Like, I’d love to see them trying to do some general couple things, but not everything quite sticking. Like for example, maybe they try to sleep in the same bed, but it turns out that Rei isn’t quiet ready to abandon the safety of the bathtub. Or Kazuki realizes he can’t enjoy one of typical couple activities since it reminds him too much of his time with his wife. Kazuki and Rei just have such different types of trauma and the idea of them finding ways to be happy despite it all really fascinating.

I’d also love fumbling displays of affection happening at awkward moments during their assassin jobs. Does the gun need a big red ribbon on it? No, but it’s the thought that counts.

I enjoy Miri and Kyu (and other secondary characters), so don’t hesitate to include them if you wish.

AUs and ships

I think a setting change could be pretty fun as long as Rei and Kazuki continue to work as assassins or have similar profession. Different time periods, fantasy AUs, or such could be really interesting for them. I also wouldn’t mind seeing a different take on the ending, maybe they find a different way to convince Rei’s dad to leave them alone and stay in the business. Or they do give up on being assassins, but rather than opening a dinner they choose some other job. AU where Kazuki and Rei are actually a comedian and oil baron, but they give everyone the wrong impression that they are assassins due to Rei’s awkward wording (and him playing too much FPSes) and Kazuki being bad at jokes.

I wouldn’t mind a deeper look into Kazuki’s relationship with his wife (especially since we see him struggle with comparing what he lost and what he has now in anime).

MACHIKADO MAZOKU

I watched both anime seasons, but haven’t read the manga yet. Please don’t spoil developments that weren’t yet in anime.

Chiyoda Momo/Yoshida "Shamiko" Yuuko

Do I even need to explain? Those two are just perfect together - a depressed magical girl finding love and acceptance with very clumsy demon who makes the dark side look way more tempting than it ever should have been.

I’m definitely here for both Shamiko trying to pull Momo out of depression through her “evil” schemes and for some more serious plot. Whether it be cute moments of bonding or Shamiko proving her worth when her friends or family are in danger, I’m here for it.

I would be up to more outings of those two. Maybe they go to aquarium or movies? Or maybe Momo requires more mental support and has Shamiko dive into her dreams (this time consensually) to help her deal with some sort of bad memory or recurring nightmare. What if some rouge demon or magical girl came into town and started causing trouble? How would our duo resolve it? Are there more secrets left behind by Momo’s sister than need to be solved?

Chiyoda Momo/Yoshida "Shamiko" Yuuko/Lico

I really loved the addition of Lico to the cast. She’s such an chaos element, because at one moment she’s extremly useful and the second she’ll be trying to spike your food with suspicious herbs. Just 100% trickster fox and I love her for that.

I found her relationship with both Shamiko and Momo extremely compelling. She’s a bit of a cunning senpai for Shamiko, obviously happy to teach her, but definitely not above a harmless prank here and there. On the other hand, there’s Momo, who visibly reminds Lico of her bad experiencess in the past, but at the same time she’s very willing to help Momo, but not without being very snarky about it and pranking her like there’s no tomorrow. I feel like that complex relationship between the characters is so good.

I would be curious to explore Lico’s point of view when it comes to Momo’s descent to the dark side. Is that the reason why she warmed up to Momo despite her bad experiences? Does she have some specific hangups that she needs to work through before she can actually enter the relationship? Does Lico want to influence Shamiko’s development as a demon in some way, or is she satisfied helping her along on the path Shamiko choose herself? Does she try to teach Shamiko some of her magic? What if Lico engaged in some pranking that got out of hand and now is desperately trying to hide the truth from Shamiko and Momo by creating a fake villain?

AUs and ships

I don’t want any setting changes, but would very much enjoy other AU shenanigans. What if Sakura was still around and trying to play a matchmaker? What if something goes wrong when Shamiko dives into Momo’s dream and they end up bodyswapping? What if Momo also started working in the cafe? Time loop could be very fun for this fandom.

There are no other relationships I’d be interested in that come to my mind, but, as always, feel free to ask me through the mods about secondary pairings you may want to add to the story

SAIHATE NO PALADIN

I've seen anime and are reading manga. Please no light novel spoilers.

William "Will" G Maryblood/Meneldor | Menel

Those two idiots. I loved that they start as enemies before Meneldor actually realizes that he looks up to Will’s kindness. And then he just immediately pledges his loyalty to Will, because he ain’t one to do things by halfs.

I’d honestly love to see those two just getting a chance to have fun and mess around. They both didn’t have any friends for a long time, so I kinda just want them to enjoy each other’s presence. Exchanging some fun stories, engaging in friendly competition, teaching each other new things. There’s just so much they can do together.

It would also be fun to explore how Menel kept supporting Will during the visit in Whitesails and the subsequent expedition. We mostly see events from Will’s perspective, so I feel like showing those events from his point of view would be very interesting

I’d love epistolary story with Will sending letters to Augustus (I’m open to handwaving how they reach him), in which he utterly fails to hide his growing crush on Meneldor

I’m always up for Robina being a tease and wingwoman

AUs and ships

I’d prefer no setting changes, since this is the closest I will ever get to requesting Tolkien. However, I’d love canon divergences. What if Will gave in and took Stagnate’s offer, setting off on a journey in an attempt to escape from the feeling of shame. How different would his meeting with Meneldor be under those circumstances?

There are no other relationships I’d be interested in that come to my mind, but, as always, feel free to ask me through the mods about secondary pairings you may want to add to the story

FATE/GRAND ORDER

I’m only playing on NA server. Please don’t include spoilers for what happened on JP servers.

Okada Izou | Assassin/Sakamoto Ryouma | Rider

I love that the first we see of their relationship is Okada being absolutely pissed about Ryoma betraying him and leaving to die, and Ryoma being like “that’s fair”, and letting himself get stabbed because he has absolute confidence that Okada doesn’t actually want to kill him. If that’s not great ship material I don’t know what is.

I love how thin the line between Ryoma caring about Okada and manipulating him into doing what he wants is. And that Okada is aware of it, but at same time he’s completely unable to let go despite constantly proclaiming that he won’t get tricked again. And yet he gets tricked. Every. Single. Time.

I would love both some shenanigans in Chaldea, as well as a look into their lives before they became Heroic Spirits. I’m not very versed in history of Japan though, so while I’d love a more history based story please assume you are telling it to someone who needs a quick history lesson at the same time. For Chaldea shenanigans I would enjoy Okada picking up fight with everyone who catches his attention and then inevitably getting his ass kicked, because he’s used to being a big fish in small pond, while Ryoma tries to make sure he doesn’t kill himself in the process. Or helps him get along with other Heroic Spirits. I would love to see Okada being pacified with some food. Maybe discovering liking for a dish he had never tried before.

Inclusions of Oryou is welcome, and you are free to make it a threesome. Just please don’t forget to include some flirty Ryoma and Okada interactions.

Saitou Hajime | Saber/Yamanami Keisuke | Saber

What is with GudaGuda and introducing great m/m ships?! We will never know. But what I do know is that Saito being very protective of Yamanami all through the event really got to my shipper soul. Everyone was giving Yamanami shit about being the traitor and what did Saito do? Make sure that this time Yamanami wouldn’t be alone when traitoring and if it isn’t a basis for a ship, I don’t know what is.

I would love both some shenanigans in Chaldea, as well as a look into their lives before they became Heroic Spirits. I’m not very versed in history of Japan though, so while I’d love a more history based story please assume you are telling it to someone who needs a quick history lesson at the same time. I obviously don’t want any references to how Yamanami is going to join Chaldea in the future, but the fifth GudaGuda event already gives a pretty good idea about how he interacts with others. I’d enjoy seeing a Shinsengumi outing where they try to ease Yamanami into being a part of their group again and Saito quietly supporting it. But I would also love to see Yamanami reciprocating that kindness by seeing through Saito’s facade and being there when he needs it.

Amakusa Shirou Tokisada | Ruler/Semiramis | Assassin

I feel in love with this ship when watching Fate/Apocrypha and I’m living with all the content FGO is giving for them. Truly, Ancient Babylonian Ruler/Priest is a winning formula for Fate ships.

I love how much those two contrast, yet fit each other. And how well they understand both the virtues and vices of the other. I’d love to see valentine events after the first one where Semiramis got introduced. Are they similar, or does the way they celebrate change? Is there a return gift on White Day?

I greatly enjoy that Amakusa is pretty much a kindergarten caretaker who works himself to the bone when he isn’t the biggest Holy Grail craving menance to happen to Chaldea. I would enjoy seeing either side of him, whether it be Semiramis indirectly helping Amakusa regarding the children or foiling his attempts to get the Grails. I would also love any totally-not-dates involving those two.

General prompts for all the requested relationships: I’d love mission gone wrong. Maybe they Rayshift with Master (I’m fine with both male and female Master for this request) but end up stranded during the mission. Or they have to camp somewhere and it results in a lot of bickering. Or the characters unsuccessfully try to stealth.

AUs and ships

I don’t want setting AUs for this canon unless you want to explore alternate history takes, since that’s the type of content I’ll eat with a spoon.

LOVE AFTER WORLD DOMINATION

Aikawa Fudou/Magahara Desumi

When I was starting this series I didn’t expect to stumble into a wholesome romance, but here we are and I absolutely love the main duo and everyone else in this sentai-themed bar.

I love that they share hobbies. Desumi being okay with a workout date was so cute, but I would love to see Fudou attempting to take Desumi on a proper date as promised. Or it descends into another workout date anyway, because they want more excitement. Aquarium date would also be great, just saying. I also loved when they set up a confrontation between Gecko and Gelato in the amusement park, so they could sneak out to have fun together. What if they do something similar in another location?

I’m also always welcome to any Gelato or Gecko shenanigans. I eat that sentai nonsense with a spoon. Maybe Fudou gets invited to Desumi’s family meeting (in Gecko costume, of course) where he gets to experience a true Gecko Christmas. Or Desumi accidentally joins Gelatos on their day off, since she knows half the team at this point. What if Gecko’s and Gelato’s accidentally book the rooms in the same karaoke/dinner/other place of entertainment to celebrate and Fudou and Desumi frantically try to make sure others in their organization don’t realize that their sworn enemies are just behind the wall

If you want something a bit more serious, both Fudou and Desumi mentioned that they want to give up on their current roles at some point and actually lead normal lives. How would their “graduation” look like when it does happen? How would they navigate this new chapter in their lives? How would it change the organizations they are going to leave behind?

AUs and ships

I prefer no setting change for this canon. The sentai shenanigans are just too good. I wouldn’t mind some roleswaps between the Gelato and Gecko though. Maybe Fudou is working for Gecko and Desumi is a part of Gelato team? Or maybe someone else is swapped. How different would the story be if they actually got big transforming robots like in Power Rangers?

I prefer the reationships between all characters to stay the same as in canon.

TOTAL FANTASY KNOCKOUT

I’m fine with story based on either anime or manga, I’m caught up with both.

Jinguuji Tsukasa/Tachibana Hinata

Childhood friends who are practically inseparable and strongly dependent on each other? That’s already perfect, but now throw into it a crazy goddess who isekais both of them, turns one of them into a girl, throws an unspecified curse, and forces those two to confront the fact that their feelings for each other might go beyond friendship? That’s beyond perfect. That’s galaxy brain and I want more of that mishmash of tropes.

I’m all about everyday interactions and weird rpg shenanigans they get into, so you can never go wrong with leaning into it. But for something else: What if at some point one of them got returned back to their original world? How would the other cope? Would they be able to establish communication between the two worlds? How would they go about reuniting?

I would love to see them taking their relationship a step further. I crave all the awkwardness that’s going to come with those two idiots trying to figure out how to admit their feelings to each other. And the inevitable defeat of any villains who get in the way of them having a moment. Will Jinguuji and Tachibana try to go on a date with a disasterous results? Will Jinguuji desperately try to find a dating manual in another world? And will they be able to enjoy a romantic moment without “CHARMED” status ruining it?

Feel free to include any other characters, they are a colorful bunch. Though if you want a suggestion, I’m very partial to Schwartz and Shen

AUs and ships

I don’t want setting changes, though I would enjoy seeing a different spin on how those two dorks get isekaied and under what circumstances they end up inflicting the wrath of Goddess of Love. Or I would love an AU where the goddess doesn’t succeed in her first killing attempt, so she keeps trying to isekai Tachibana and Jinguuji keeps foiling her plans every time (or maybe he fails at some point?). What if the curse placed by the goddess manifests in some other ridiculous ways? What if Shwartz wormed his way into the protagonists’ party and third-wheeled like only he can?

Feel free to include any one-sided crushes from canon.

Random JBM+Grantaire headcanons: How they came to be

So I asked @midasinc about their headcanons for JBM with Grantaire as a very close friend/queerplatonic partner, and it has made me want to make my own post. Be warned, a lot of these are rewritings of old posts, so if you feel like you’ve heard them before, that’s probably why.

Also, once I got started this grew way too much for one post, so I’ll be making two parts.

How they came to be.

Grantaire and Bossuet met at a beginning-of-the-academic-year party. They were both quite drunk already, but not so much that they couldn’t decide they liked each other and exchange numbers. They run into each other again a couple of times and hit it off. Soon they were seeing each other during the day too, and they become drinking buddies/friends.

Grantaire did a lot of ballroom and other types of couple dances when he was young, and he gets roped into teaching the beginners’ class at the university’s dance club. Not wanting to do it alone, he ropes Bossuet into signing up for moral support.

On the other hand, Joly signs up to the same class, thinking that learning how to dance as a follower will give him a few chances to dance with cute boys at parties. He didn’t expect is to find someone at the class, but the tall African guy with the booming laugh who keeps stepping on his toes and making jokes with the teacher may be The One...

Joly has very heavy anxiety, and a severe enough hypochondria that he sometimes develops the symptoms for real. Grantaire, who has dealt with his fair share of anxiety attacks over the years, is probably the best at handling them when he gets bad, and Bossuet has no qualms at calling him when Joly needs a hand.

Musichetta is Grantaire’s step-sister. They met as teenagers, when Grantaire went on a trip to Martinique to visit his mother and her new family. They don’t see each other much, because of the distance, but they do Skype regularly, they enjoy each other’s company a lot.

When Musichetta turns eighteen and moves to Paris to study, it’s a no-brainer that they are going to move together.

Grantaire loves introducing Musichetta is “his sister”. Both because it feels like that to him (and saying “step-sister” just sounds Cinderella-y), but also because it is hilarious to see people’s faces while they try to find a non-offensive way of asking “but... you are White, and she is Black...”.

When Joly sees Grantaire’s (step-)sister for the first time, he goes on a bluescreen of death for a while. He has identified as gay since his early teenage years, and he is secure in his sexuality, and he has gone through the hassle of coming out to his family, and everything... and now there is this girl, and she is amazing, and gorgeous, and is he attracted to her???

Bossuet is super supportive of his boyfriend while he tries to understand what he’s feeling. It does help that he understands perfectly what he’s going through. Because he also had issues deciding whether he was bi or gay when he was younger, but also.. because Musichetta is just very cool, so he gets it. Really.

Meanwhile, Musichetta just thinks that ‘Taire’s friends are funny and nice and she likes them a lot, she’s happy that they are around so often.

Joly ends up coming out as “5, maybe 4 on the Kinsey Scale”, and confessing to Grantaire that he kind of wants to date his little sister....? To which Grantaire’s answer is “if Bossuet is okay with it go for it, dude, you don’t need my permission, what is this, the nineteenth century??”

JUNO

First impression: i, like a lot of people who get into the podcast without knowing a great deal about it, was expecting at most an ambiguously bisexual angst machine with a closely-guarded heart of gold. juno being an explicitly bisexual genderqueer angst machine is perhaps the most pleasant surprise of my life. the angst machine heart of gold characters were kind of my type at the time, so i loved him right away

Impression now: every time i think about juno’s arc from depressed mess held together by bad coping mechanisms, safety pins, and a few good strong puns into someone who can talk about his feelings, feel comfortable about being happy, and recognise when he needs to change, i want to cry about it a little bit. the depth of my love for juno steel has only grown along with him

Favourite moment: juno has a lot of great one-liners and i’m still a big fan of the “on the other hand i wasn’t wearing a watch” bit and who can forget such classics as juno finally deciding to stop moping over nureyev and move on only for him to open the door to his apartment and find nureyev sitting in the dark dramatically, but honestly nothing will ever hit me harder than his sudden, pissed-off declaration of “i can’t die yet, i still have shit to do!” in promised land. god.

Idea for a story: oh i have so many and i want to write most of them so no spoilers, but juno accidentally kidnaps a baby during a carte blanche heist and shenanigans ensue

Unpopular opinion: obviously we all know he’s dummy thicc but i feel like a lot of people forget he’s an actual genius, like the stuff he notices and how he strings it together is sometimes so obscure and he’s almost always right. oh, also juno is not skinny and i will not be taking criticism on that

Favourite relationship: this is so tough because every dynamic is so good, but i think it has to be juno and rita. those two are so good! the best best friends in the world!! i’m really a sucker for any dynamic that’s ridiculously in-sync so i loved these two as soon as juno saw rita’s notes in prince of mars and went “makes perfect sense to me” (which it probably didn’t, because rita, but he trusted that she knew what she was doing which is the important part)

Favourite headcanon: this isn’t really a headcanon but i still think about how juno is (was?) deathly afraid of heights but when he heard rex glass coming he still attempted to climb out of the window. either his aversion to working with dark matters/other people in general was so strong is overrided his fear, or his office was actually on the ground floor. not sure which of these is funnier.

NUREYEV

First impression: we’ve all seen the memes about nureyev knowing juno steel for one (1) day and deciding to Risk It All by leaving him with his name, look at this Hopeless Romantic, this utter DISASTER of a homosexual. the fact the very next time we hear from nureyev (at least directly) he’s patiently waiting in juno’s dark apartment to surprise him with a heist definitely supports this image.

Impression now: even after literally being inside peter’s head, i feel like we didn��t get a real sense of who he is until man in glass, where we find out he aggressively compartmentalises everything that causes him stress. he’s also distinctly someone who’s had his heart broken before, i think, which makes those first appearances of his very strange. but it does remind me of what juno says about diamond, and how he decided to provide the trust first and wait for the trustworthiness to grow in (only to get severely hurt), and i think that’s exactly what nureyev did. i am also... very uneasy with how suspicious he’s behaving this season because obviously i want to believe he’ll sort it all out and not betray the crew but... oof

Favourite moment: the beginning of what lies beyond pt1 where he’s affectionately bullying juno into taking care of himself? cleared my crops watered my skin etc etc etc

Idea for a story: i’d love to hear more about his past as a young thief idolising buddy and vespa (i can’t actually remember if that’s canon or fanon but anyway i wanna read it!)

Unpopular opinion: i think people often cling to an image of him that more resembles his first impressions in season 1 instead of seeing the depth that we’ve been given about his character in season 3

First impression: honestly i’m not sure? i don’t remember having a big awareness of her in murderous mask but i remember loving her “note-taking” in prince of mars, i thought she sounded really fun and cute

Impression now: rita is really fun and cute, she’s also an extremely hardworking and dedicated woman who had the guts to throw in with a detective fired from the force and then invest all of her time and money into helping him help people.

Favourite moment: Rita Gets A Knife. enough said

Idea for a story: i don’t know honestly! i really struggle to write rita because her thought processes are so wild and i don’t think any story i could come up with would match mega ultrabots of cyberjustice.

Unpopular opinion: this shouldn’t be unpopular because juno steel himself shares this opinion but all future-jupeter headcanons are incomplete without rita also being a huge part of their lives

Favourite relationship: rita + franny 4ever obviously.. jk it’s juno & rita have you heard rita minute 3 they’re too adorable for this world. im still Soft over their conversation at the end of soul of the people when he said he couldn’t stay in hyperion anymore but he wouldn’t leave with the carte blanche if rita wasn’t coming because he was done leaving her behind, and she threw out all her hesitations on the spot and said call the big guy. speaking of, rita & jet are a close second. instant best friends i love them.

Favourite headcanon: i think this is basically canon now but rita being literally half the height of jet is so good

First impression: “haha lorge funny man puts juno in the trash”

Impression now: jet sikuliaq is one of the dearest characters to me out of anything ever. he is a huge, menacing, polite, kind, sincere man who i would very much like to give me a hug. he’s the best aro ace in outer space and while being generally very levelheaded and straightforward, also takes every opportunity to fuck with juno because it’s very easy and very hilarious to him personally. he is everything my autistic acearo ass needed and i’m so glad to have him

Favourite moment: all of them every single one. him putting juno in the trash is of course a classic and every moment jet chooses to be funny makes my heart happy, but also every piece of genuine advice he gives. i’m a particular fan though of buddy recounting her years in the lighthouse and him saying he became concerned when she didn’t come downstairs at the usual time. “you took the door off its hinges.” “i was deeply concerned.” king of understatement

Idea for a story: again no spoilers for you but..... tools of rust time loop au

Unpopular opinion: this isn’t “unpopular” as much as it is unknown but jet is buddy’s queerplatonic partner and i will keep saying it until everyone believes it

Favourite relationship: jet and buddy,,, just everything about them. the way he suspects when she’s lying, the way she makes tea for him when she expects him to drop by. the fact he comes to check on her when she is 41 seconds late to the family meeting because it’s unlike her to be late and the last time she was late for something her brain was turning to radiation soup. but most especially the way she snaps at him to stay out of her business and he said he could not because he made her promise eight years ago to never stay out of the business of her health, no matter how many times she asked. they r literally in a qpr

Favourite headcanon: i don’t think this is true but i still think it would be funny if the ruby-7 used to be painted red but when jet got it he had it painted green because he Just Really Likes Green (as evidenced by his hovercycle). it’s very funny to me.

BUDDY

First impression: it’s been a minute since i relistened to time gone by but i’m pretty sure the first thing she ever says in the podcast is sliding up to depressed accidental whiskey thief juno and say “that’ll be ten million creds,” scaring the shit out of him, so needless to say i was in love instantly.

Impression now: my love for buddy aurinko has only grown and if it sounds like i already said that in this post it’s because i did about juno and it’s appropriate because the parallels are astounding. the heart of it all gave us such depth to buddy’s internal monologue and why she always sounds like she knows exactly what to say and what that’s like and honestly will i ever be over the heart of it all as an episode? unlikely. i think i’m gonna have a little piece of it in MY heart forever.

Favourite moment: everything she’s ever said is iconic as hell i especially like “in an impressive fit of hubris i’ve decided not to prepare my words for this vow” which made me laugh out loud but once again i must give it up for her iconic “I WANT TO LIVE” moment. honourable mentions to her taking rita out for ice cream and giving juno shooting lessons while she’s in her actual wedding gown. i love her

Idea for a story: buddy and vespa as sun/moon dieties.... that’s all

Unpopular opinion: stop drawing her with a fancy high-tech eye like the theia!! it canonically looks like garbage and it’s described in detail, please, i’m dying, also don’t minimise her scars you bastards

Favourite relationship: buddy and vespa invented romantic love and the entire carte blanche crew’s relationship to her is great but you know by now i’m a slut for buddy & jet out-of-this-world queerplatonic partners. the way she checks in on him during tools of rust to make sure he’s not relapsing and he comes to find her when she is 41 seconds late in the heart of it all to make sure she’s not having a heart problem!! it’s the trust,, the devotion,, the mortifying ordeal of being known

Favourite headcanon: she can sing. absolutely tears it up at karaoke. i’m right

VESPA

First impression: knife lesbian goes STAB. she will heal your wounds but she will be threatening to give you more the whole time

Impression now: she is extremely strong, heart-rendingly tender, and despite being in the older half of the carte blanche crew somehow has unmistakable little sister energy which makes her downright hilarious. i’m so glad she got to marry buddy and they’re official space wives now they’re so good for each other

Favourite moment: both from shadows in the ship, either “GUN!!” “KNIFE?!” (iconic) or when she clocks the dark matters drone pretending to be juno because it called her crazy and juno wouldn’t call her crazy. i’m always a sucker for “shapeshifter fails to fool mark because they Know Each Other Too Well” and it was just *chefs kiss* so good

Idea for a story: i really want to write something about when she was first staying at the lighthouse with buddy post-reunion, and getting to know jet and stuff. i think it would be cute

Unpopular opinion: i know vespa doesn’t canonically have lots of scarring but people who don’t draw her with scarring? cowards.

Favourite relationship: once again, although buddy and vespa invented romantic love, i just love the dynamic between vespa and juno so much. they’ve come so far with each other and their weird sibling dynamic gives me life. at the end of what lies beyond when juno says “we’re not gonna kill her, vespa” and instead of sounding full of Rage and Suspicion she’s like “whyyy notttt?” and he’s like “because i said so!” and that’s just good enough for her even if she’s a bit grumpy about it. i love it.

Author’s Note: The author is a grey-romantic asexual who's never been in a relationship, so apologies if this is awkward. I just wanted to try writing something for Femslash February, and since I headcanon Jemma as aro, and I also thought she and Bobbi would have been cute together, the idea formed that maybe Bobbi's aro too?

“You an’ me, we coulda really been somethin’, you know that, Bob?” Hunter slurred before taking a swig of his beer bottle. He brought it down from his mouth and glared at it. “Iss empty.”

He got up, presumably to make his way to the kitchen for another drink, but Mack got up as well and stopped him. “I think you’ve had enough, buddy,” Mack told him. “Let’s get you to bed. Night, Bobbi, Jemma.” Mack shepherded Hunter out of the common room leaving only the two women.

Jemma absently ran her thumb along the side of the beer bottle, and glanced at Bobbi. The woman was staring at the door Mack and Hunter had just gone through. “We really couldn’t have been,” Bobbi commented. “Something, that is. The sex was good, great even, but the relationship just wasn’t compatible. I’ve never been good at relationships. I just don’t think I’m wired that way.”

“I’m not wired that way either,” Jemma offered. “Not for romantic relationships, anyway. There’s a word for it, you know: aromanticism.” Bobbi didn’t respond, and Jemma worried that maybe she’d overstepped. “Of course, you’ll have to figure out what you feel for yourself. No one can decide that for you.”

“I think I’m headed to bed,” Bobbi told her. “Goodnight, Jemma.”

“Night.”

Jemma finished her beer and decided to head to bed herself. As she lay in bed, trying to sleep, she found her thoughts occupied by a beautiful, tall, blonde. Was Bobbi aro too? Jemma had never met another aromantic person in real life. It would be nice, not being the only one. She sighed and rolled over, closing her eyes as slumber came.

A few weeks later, Bobbi came to visit Jemma in the lab. “I’ve been doing some research,” she announced.

“Oh?” Jemma asked, turning to face her. “On what?”

“Aromanticism,” Bobbi said. “I think it fits me.”

Jemma beamed at her. “Congratulations!”

“Thanks! It’s nice, having a word for it.”

“Tell me about it,” Jemma said. “When I first discovered it, it was like everything suddenly made sense.”

“Would you, um,” Bobbi trailed off and Jemma noticed that she actually seemed nervous. “Would you maybe want to get dinner with me tonight? I’d like to talk about it more.”

“I’d love to!” Jemma said with a smile. “Seven o’clock?”

“Perfect,” Bobbi said, looking relieved. “I’ll see you at seven.”

They end up going to a diner in town. They were shown to a booth and made small talk about what to order. They compared their SHIELD service histories while they waited for their food, engaging in playful banter about the rivalry between SciTech and Operations. It was a rare moment of normalcy, and Jemma reveled in it.

“So,” Bobbi began as Jemma took a bite of her salad. “When did you first figure it out?”

“When Fitz and I were at SciOps,” Jemma answered. “Everyone thought Fitz and I were together, but our relationship has always been queerplatonic. The idea of Fitz and me being together romantically was repellent. I got curious as to why it was so repellent. I started thinking about my previous romantic relationships, and doing some research, and eventually I stumbled across that word: aromantic. That led me to other words, like asexual and queerplatonic. I’m not asexual, by the way. I rather like sex.”

“Me too,” Bobbi said. They grinned at each other. “Could a queerplatonic relationship be a sexual one?” she asked.

“Yes, I think so,” Jemma said. “Assuming both partners agree, of course.”

“Would you agree to it?”

“With the right person.”

Bobbi looked nervous again. “Do you think I could be the right person?”

Jemma froze, her fork halfway to her mouth. Had Bobbi really just said that she wanted a sexual, queerplatonic relationship with her? She liked Bobbi. She was definitely attracted to her. But she’d never thought that she’d get the chance to do anything about that.

“Never mind,” Bobbi said as Jemma failed to respond. “I don’t even know if you’re into women. Just forget I said anything.”

“No!” Jemma said, putting her fork down. “I’m sorry; I was just surprised. I’m definitely into women. Men too. Any gender, really. Sorry, now I’m babbling.”

Bobbi smiled. “You’re cute when you babble.”

Jemma felt a blush heating up her cheeks. “You’re cute too.”

They finished their meal and made their way back to the base. Jemma followed Bobbi back to her bedroom and they settled together on the bed. “I don’t really know how this is supposed to work,” Bobbi admitted.

“I don’t think there are any rules,” Jemma told her. “We just do what feels natural. We talk about what we want, what we don’t want. We respect each other’s boundaries. What would your ideal relationship look like?”

“A friend,” Bobbi said immediately. “A friend I could spend time with, have fun with, have sex with. A friend with benefits, I guess would be the term. What about you?”

“The same really,” Jemma said. “I want a friend I can have sex with without having to be in a relationship with them, outside of the friendship, of course. I want someone who respects my relationship with Fitz, because he is always going to be a big part of my life.”

“It sounds like we agree.”

“Yeah, I guess we do.”

“So, where do we go from here?” Bobbi asked.

Jemma smiled at her. “Would you like to have sex?”

Bobbi smiled back and kissed Jemma, a deep, electrifying kiss that left her wanting more. “Yes, yes I would.”
