The very first proper digital drawings of all of them. Airi is the oldest, with hers being from the may of 2016, with Sharon lagging behind at the march of 2017. Aalis is the "youngest" at the june of 2017.

Airi used to have her totally own thing, but I merged her into Sharon's project later on. Airi's gone through the hardest design revisions, while Aalis is like 99% the exact same as when i first doodled her sometime before that drawing.

Perfect day to reveal this character I made for Bliss a while back considering it’s literally the autumnal equinox! A very important figure in the world’s lore, The Equinox is the “Mother Cryptid”, basically what God (or what’s called “Numen” in this universe) is to humans/angels. Humans usually worship both deities— Numen for prosperity in life and Equinox for peace in death.

The Equinox is also the cause of one other thing: equinoxal cryptids. These are the cryptids that are born after death. When a living thing on the Overworld, like a human or animal, meets an untimely demise (which basically just means their time was cut short abruptly, one example being murder) their soul remains dormant for a little while and is placed into a “ballot-type system” in the Equinox’s care. Usually most souls will eventually pass this system and move on into proper afterlife. But sometimes these souls get pulled from said ballot system and are chosen to be reincarnated as a cryptid. Usually these equinoxal cryptids are one of a kind— they don’t follow any already existing species. They’re just them— no other cryptid quite like they are. These forms are often drawn to resemble something in their past life, which can be as mundane or representative as Equinox chooses. Their memories are also usually clouded after the process. Little details can often be recalled, but some are shrouded away. Some remember their deaths, others do not, or at the very least remember basic details of it. But some are left with vivid memories of it. There’s not really much telling why she does this— it’s a mystery left unknown. Perhaps it’s like doll making… crafting something you can love and tend to and hopefully pass on to the next person who will take care of it.

Equinox doesn’t really look too much into the lives of who she reanimates— not that she really can at all. It’s pretty much at random chance whatever soul she pulls out to recreate, regardless of what kind of person they were. Does she sometimes do this to the wrong people? Well… It’s not like it would be her fault if it ever came to that.

During the first day of Autumn, it is considered a celebratory holiday for Cryptids, but not a lot of actual celebrating gets to happen this day. It’s said that The Equinox’s connection with cryptickind is closer and stronger than ever as she roams around the overworld to spread autumnal joy, but this actually causes the Cryptids to become “overwhelmed” with the sensation and become very sluggish/sleepy/sickly. Despite that, it is still a happy holiday for them, equinoxal or not.

#Realized since I never posted her and the first day of autumn was upon us… perfect timing #She’s actually another take at me redesigning an old oc— I do that a lot #there’s a couple more where that came from for Bliss #some of which I’ve made very recently and have yet to finish their designs :) #But for Bliss I want to specify that “God” is more of a descriptor than an actual individual #Equinox is basically the God of Cryptids— technically more than just that but yeah #basically the deity of things like rebirth and redemption and probably prosperity as well #Equinox doesn’t really just show herself to others per se despite her occasionally roaming the overworld during autumn’s first day #it’s more like. okay so who’s seen Pokémon Heroes. it’s like Latios and Latias having a vague transparency. Just like that #It’s like you can just see her if you look closely but it’s hard to tell #also worth reminding that parts of Bliss are EATEOT inspired #and there happens to be a track called “an autumnal equinox” #fun fact. that connection was unintentional. I have so mant Effie comics rattling around in my brainspace. Comic where she swallows a squeaker. Comic about her taking control of her life and gender presentation from her shitty "mom". Comic about her aroace approach to preforming romance and how that's how she meets her futur queer platonic partner. Her and her qpp dicussing the town founder's (Frank, qpp's grandpa) friendship with Effie's "mom" and how that affects their relationship in the present. Effie meeting her older 45+ yr old self and talking about how they change and how their outlook on life and their goals and pursuits change in ways younger Effie never thought would happen. Comic about Effie babysitting. Etc. I am obsessed with this scarecrow woman

#i am projecting so much of my relationship with romance despite being aroace on effie like. she isnt romantically attracted to anyone ever #but she enjoys the preformance of romance (as long as all parties are absolutley clear that it is nothing more than that) #to the point where she has casual dates with people that she activley advertises for. and that romance is very superficial for her while #other relationships are so much deeper esp cuz she rarelt actually lets ppl into her life #and despite her qpp being allo and having a huge crush on effie at first not only are their boundaries are super combatable #like neither likes kisses esp not on the lips #that it just works and the romantic attraction her qpp has for effie dissapates as they get to know each other #and becomes a lot stronger as it becomes platonic. its very important to me i never see #stories where romantic feelings dissipating are treated as a really good thing esp qhen theyre replaced by something so much deeper and #sustainable. Splatters was actually sold as an adoptable and they belong to someone else now <:)

BUT I do have a small bit of old art of Sasha and her chao, Calzone:

She was of course, my first ever sonic oc. :) Started her life as a Sonic recolor, went through some awkward redesigning and attempt at finding some other story placement for her, and then wrapped right back around to being a parallel to Sonic. But this time, it's on purpose!

I like to consider her the youngest of her friends, but the most energetic and extroverted! She's extremely caring, with a gentle hand (to a fault at times).

I also have some old concept art of Taiga Ounce (which I think was made some time in 2019, I might tweak her outfit or design soon);

Taiga is a gentle giant type! Very strong, but a little timid. Wouldn't hurt a fly, even if you asked her to. She depends on Sasha to initiate any sort of adventure or outing. I really enjoyed the large build Boom Knuckles had, which inspired Taiga's design slightly!

You can sorta tell I'm a defender of "sonic characters don't have to wear clothes if they do not want to. sally acorn had it right" sjkfhgjkfd

i also had an idea for a little sugar glider, mean-girl-turned-friend type, but I never got too far into a design I liked. I do have this doodle though :)

They make a trio! Like Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails. :)

I might set aside some time today to try and redraw them and tweak their designs!!
