And He Still Loved You
read it on AO3 at https://ift.tt/EYVpLn2 by Amyx_7 ... It's 4 pm. It started raining an hour ago. It has been 3 hours since he has been waiting. Gin said that his brother can be an asshole sometimes. But she was sure when she said he wouldn't try to hurt his feelings. Even if he rejected him, he'd say it without humiliating him.   The flowers were already on the ground. Petals going around by the help of the rain. Atsushi isn't crying, it has to be rain. He isn't crying. It's just that the rain has been a bit warm. His cheeks aren't red. He isn't sobbing at all. He does not shiver. He would not shiver over a guy. But he can't help the feeling inside him. He would've chose to be humiliated instead of this.   Or, Atsushi gets heartbroken when trying to ask Ryunosuke out. ❝ gods left me before I learned how to speak —— I’ve had to save my words until now. ❞ saved, not hidden, they are thoughts that must come out and be witnessed by even the lowest of heaven (or hell) dwellers. eyes closing, Ryūnosuke leans over to take in the scent clinging to his demon : figs, from an early snack. ink, now dried on the warm skin. impatient lips find a spot to claim below lover’s ear and capture the pulsing earlobe, his own heartbeat firing up. ❝ Rashōmon. let us get married. ❞
Cuddled up from now abandoned sleep the creature’s languid gaze follows path of timeless love. Words and actions so ingrained in beating heart each bares a secluded shard of something perfect, matching two thoughts made one. Knowing a thought or phrase before it is spoken but finding it new once again. Paradox of two beings sharing in one life.
Even if arms can’t move to reach the pressing body against his side Rashomon makes use of every part of himself. Tendrils slipping between the inky words on skin reach out, grasping hold of slender figure. A warm and loving binding, some snaking down to coil around waist or finding nearby leg to slither around. Flick playfully at heel.
The little growl shakes the cushion with small vibrations, content and strangely peaceful despite its usual nature. Its where each sound shakes that hidden heart tingles at the touch of lips. Making it race to match the spreading heat.
Tumblr media
“Ryu~” He initially purred at hearing those words come from love’s otherwise occupied lips. “Yea, let’s.” Hand can at least reach out to weave fingers between frailer digits. “What do we need to do?”

S i c k / / Akutagawa Ryunosuke
Reader: Female Genre: Fluff Character: Akutagawa Ryunosuke // Bungou Stray Dogs Requested: Yes
Tumblr media
" (y/n) here’s the medicine. " Gin comes into your room holding a small bottle and a glass of water.
You thanked her by bowing a little in your bed as you take one capsule and drink it with water.
(y/n) sigh heavily and close her eyes but that didn’t last long because two people came in arguing.
(y/n) looked at them, it’s her boyfriend Ryunosuke Akutagawa and Chuuya Nakahara her friend, (y/n) wanted to stop them from arguing but she can’t because her body is unwilling to associate. (y/n) frowned and coughed a little.
“ It's your fault, if you had chosen a different partner earlier, (y/n) wouldn't have gotten sick. ” Ryunosuke said to Chuuya and glared at him.
“ It’s not my fault that (y/n) wants to partner up with me. ” Chuuya answered while crossing his arms and returned the glare.
“ It’s fine R-Ryu. ” you said in a husky voice because of the stupid pain in your throat.
Ryunosuke was about to say more things to Chuuya but Gin pulled Chuuya outside the room and left you and Ryunosuke in the room.
Ryunosuke seated at the edge of your bed and looked at you worriedly.
" Don't blame Chuuya, I didn’t know that I’ll get lost and I didn’t also expect. " you coughed,"-to rain."
There was a tingling feeling in your nose, a sign that you were about to sneeze. You quickly turned your back to the Ryunosuke and grabbed a tissue. You blew your nose in it.
" I'll bring you a trash can." He hurriedly ran out then came back holding a small tin trash bin.
He set it on the floor near the bed. You dropped the wet tissue in the trash can.
" Th-ank y-you " Your raspy voice cracked.
“ Don't speak anymore, your throat will continuously hurt. " He ordered worriedly.
" I'll get you a notebook and a ballpen." He went to your forehead and kissed it.
He went outside and got what he needed, and when he came back he was indeed holding a notebook and a pen, (y/n) smiled at him knowing how caring he is.
“ Here you go. ” He gently reached it to (y/n).
You gladly took it and scribbled something in it. You showed it to him “ Thank you for this. ” as she smiled softly.
You and Ryunosuke started talking to each other but ended fast too. They enjoyed talking with each other.
You really wanted to talk but that will make Ryunosuke worry so you just used the pen and paper.
You smile and pat the spot beside you on the bed.
He follows your gesture and sits beside you. You hugged him, you missed that feeling.
He laughs softly and gently pats your head, " I would just kiss you right now. But then I would get sick, meaning you'd worry."
Your giggle is muffled onto his chest,
" I love you, I really hope you feel better. I can't kiss you anymore except here-'' he kissed your forehead.
"Also here-" he said kissing your cheek, "and..." He's about to continue but you push him away softly while giggling.
He smiled, "Can't wait till you are better."
“ I love you too Ryu, let’s spend more time together when I’m already well.” You scribble down and show him the notebook.
End

dream a little dream of me
summary: Ryunosuke had never been one for gloomy, rainy weather, had always preferred the comforting warmth of a clear, sunny day. When a particularly heavy rainstorm keeps him and Kazuma in bed for hours on end, he finds himself slowly starting to think otherwise.
word count: 2.4k | read on ao3
a/n: For @asoryuu-week, day four of seven (prompt: "domestic"). This fic takes place post-Resolve; mild spoiler warning for Adventures and Resolve, where events may be alluded to but not described in detail. All names and honorifics are taken from the official localization, with the exception of Sherlock and Iris.
Fic title is from the song Dream A Little Dream Of Me by The Mamas & The Papas.
“Remind me, Ryunosuke, what is it they say about a heavy head? Because yours is certainly making it harder for me to breathe.”
Ryunosuke sighed, lifting his supposedly heavy head from his partner’s chest to level him with a sleepy glare. “Good morning to you, too. Must you demean me before we’ve even gotten out of bed?”
Kazuma’s warm, slightly raspy laughter soothed Ryunosuke somewhat, though he still couldn’t help but feel slightly irritated. “Well, it’s hardly my fault you’re so fun to tease. No one else reacts quite like you do.” Then, Kazuma cupped Ryunosuke’s jaw in one hand, running his thumb across Ryunosuke’s mouth. “And I mean that in all manner of things, if you get my meaning.”
“You’re terrible,” Ryunosuke informed him, though he allowed Kazuma to kiss him anyway, grunting slightly when Kazuma rolled over to straddle him, sinking his entire body into Ryunosuke’s, fingers digging into his sides. “Mm...Kazuma, th-they’re waiting for us downstairs - ”
“Let them wait,” Kazuma murmured, playfully nibbling Ryunosuke’s bottom lip. One of his hands had now moved to Ryunosuke’s thigh, caressing him teasingly. “It’s been too long since we’ve had some time to ourselves.”
“You were only here two nights ago,” Ryunosuke said breathlessly; Kazuma’s mouth had quickly made its way from his neck to his collarbone, leaving a heated trail of kisses down the length of his throat. “Remember? That’s when I finally agreed to - ”
“Ry-u! Kazz-y! Won’t you be joining us for breakfast?”
“Damn,” Kazuma muttered, reluctantly climbing off so he could smooth out the front of his jinbei. Despite Ryunosuke’s continued annoyance at Kazuma’s insatiable nature, if he wanted to put it kindly, he also couldn’t help but admire how flushed Kazuma’s ears, neck, and chest had become in the last few minutes alone. “We’ll be right there, Iris, sorry for keeping you!”
“That’s okay!” Iris called back, her footsteps already beginning to fade away. “Just as long as you’re both properly dressed, alright?”
Ryunosuke groaned, dropping his head into his hands. “This is all your fault, you know that?” Kazuma merely scoffed, rifling through his bag so he could find the fresh set of clothes he’d packed for his overnight stay. “Though I suppose nothing will ever be as bad as the time you pulled me aside in the middle of an investigation and - ”
“I thought we both found that to be a thrilling and memorable experience, but fine,” Kazuma said with a dramatic sigh. “I’ll see to it that we won't try anything that adventurous ever again.”
“We almost got caught!” Ryunosuke exclaimed, agitatedly flapping his shirt in Kazuma’s face. “Don’t you realize how much trouble we would’ve been in?”
Kazuma stared at Ryunosuke in complete and utter disbelief. “...Ryunosuke, you’ve committed treason. You’ve implicated so many government officials, exposed so many government secrets - ”
“...all the more reason not to take a chance?” Ryunosuke offered sheepishly. “Anyway, let’s get dressed before they come looking for us again. I swear I can hear Susato-san’s footsteps coming up the stairs.”
A little over an hour later, Ryunosuke, Kazuma, and Susato returned to the attic, pleasantly sleepy from the generous meal that Iris had prepared for everyone. The rain was still thumping against the windowpane, an erratic tap-tap-tap that filled the entire room, rendering the three of them barely able to hear themselves or each other.
“I know you were planning on returning to your own flat, Kazuma-sama, but I would advise against it in a storm like this,” Susato mused, momentarily brushing the curtains aside so she could look out over the soggy, sorry state of London’s streets. “And I’m sure Naruhodo-san wouldn’t complain if you stayed.”
“I’m sure as well, though Ryunosuke is clearly in no position to answer either way,” Kazuma said dryly, gesturing in Ryunosuke’s direction, where he was currently curled up on the floor by Susato’s tea set, half-asleep and hugging his daruma to his chest. Susato watched, giggling, as Kazuma walked over to gently prod Ryunosuke in the shoulder with his foot. “Come now, Ryu, don’t make me carry you back to bed.”
“We both know you’d like that,” Ryunosuke mumbled. Susato only just managed to refrain from rolling her eyes at them - she’d been privy to far too many of their supposedly private conversations for her liking - instead electing to pat Kazuma on the arm.
“I think this is the perfect weather for a nap, personally,” she said, looking at him meaningfully. “If you plan on returning to bed as well, I can let Iris and Mr Holmes know not to disturb any of us until dinner.”
“That would be great, Susato-san, thank you,” Kazuma said sincerely, though he secretly suspected she just wanted to leave them be. Once she disappeared back down the stairs, he looked down at Ryunosuke with an irrevocably fond sigh. “Ryunosuke…”
“Yeah, yeah, ‘m getting up,” Ryunosuke yawned, reluctantly pulling himself to his feet. “Bed?” Grinning, Kazuma wordlessly took Ryunosuke by the hand and led him towards his bedroom - their bedroom, really, given how often he stayed over these days. Moments later, they clumsily tumbled back into bed, having changed into their sleepclothes once more.
“You’ve still got a bit of egg on your face,” Kazuma observed, wiping Ryunosuke’s cheek. “How does this keep happening to you?”
“Eat too fast,” Ryunosuke murmured, turning to kiss the palm of Kazuma’s hand. “Food...good.”
“Your grasp of both the Japanese and the English language is incredible,” Kazuma drawled, carding his fingers through Ryunosuke’s hair. He then pulled him closer, burying his face into Ryunosuke’s neck. “I thought you went back home to finish school, did you not? Surely you can do better than ‘food good’.”
“You’re so mean to me,” Ryunosuke said, sighing, letting out an exaggerated exhale directly in Kazuma’s face. Still, he turned over so he could wrap his arms around Kazuma’s waist, snuggling contentedly into his chest. “I really should just kick you out and make you go home.” Laughing, Kazuma kissed the top of his head.
“Not in this weather, you wouldn’t,” Kazuma replied. As if to illustrate his point, there was a loud, thunderous crack that practically shook the entire room. “If this storm keeps up, I might have to live here indefinitely.” Ryunosuke merely grunted in response. “Well, you don’t have to sound so pleased about it.”
“Oh - no, it’s not that,” Ryunosuke reassured him, sitting up somewhat so he could look Kazuma in the eye. Despite Kazuma’s typical brusque, yet affectionate nature, he could tell that Kazuma was slightly hurt. “I was just thinking about how much I dislike storms. Rain is fine on occasion, but...it seems as if London is in a permanent state of misery sometimes, you know? And it makes us miserable all the while.”
Kazuma’s clouded expression cleared up instantly. “It’s been ages since we’ve had sunshine,” he agreed, now dropping his head to rest on Ryunosuke’s shoulder. “It would’ve been nice to go for a walk together before I leave...whenever that is.”
“Like we used to do before class,” Ryunosuke said quietly, nodding. “You could never convince me to join you during your morning exercises, though.”
“Forget morning exercise, I had to literally drag you out of bed sometimes,” Kazuma snorted, tangling their fingers together. “I hear Susato-san hasn’t had any luck with getting you to exercise more, either.”
“I exercise enough,” Ryunosuke huffed, pinching Kazuma’s side; much to his dismay, Kazuma merely laughed in response. “I do plenty of pacing up and down during trials, you see.”
“I do see,” Kazuma teased. “I should look for permanent scuff marks behind the defense bench and the witness stand the next time we’re in court. You have a tendency to drag your feet, after all.”
Rolling his eyes, Ryunosuke made a show of yanking his hand out of Kazuma’s grasp and turning over with his back to him, pulling his side of the blankets over his head. “...I’m really starting to think you have nothing nice to say about me at all.”
Even when he wasn’t looking at him, he could tell Kazuma was smirking. “Oh, I think I praise you plenty. But in case you were wanting to hear it…” In one quick motion, Kazuma swept the bundled-up Ryunosuke into his arms, Ryunosuke’s back pressed against his chest, his breath ghosting the shell of Ryunosuke’s ear. “...I love you, Ryunosuke. And I’ll say it as many times as you’d like; all you need to do is ask.”
“Wonderful, now I just sound needy,” Ryunosuke said, sighing yet again, though he craned his neck to kiss Kazuma anyway, tossing the blanket around his shoulders so they were both enveloped in its warmth. Kazuma slowly lowered him onto his back, onto the mattress, knees braced on either side of Ryunosuke’s hips, fingers digging into Ryunosuke’s waist.
“You can insult me back, I don’t mind,” Kazuma murmured, sucking a bruising kiss along the crook of Ryunosuke’s jaw. Though they’d crawled back into bed for a nap, Ryunosuke was starting to feel more and more alert by the second. “Do your worst.”
Ryunosuke hummed, thinking. “...sometimes, you try too hard. You need to relax more, Kazuma. There have been some jurors and witnesses who’ve been intimidated by you, even though you aren’t trying to be malicious.”
“Fair enough.” Kazuma’s voice was low, raspy, sending shivers up Ryunosuke’s spine. “Anything else?”
“You have a bad habit of interrupting people,” Ryunosuke continued, prodding Kazuma in the chest with an accusatory finger. “Even Iris seemed annoyed with you last night, when she was asking us about our latest trial. I know you think you were helping, but I can speak for myself just fine. We’re not in school anymore.”
“...ah.” Kazuma looked humbled, almost remorseful. “I...I’m sorry, Ryu, I didn’t realize. I honestly thought we were just telling them about what happened together.”
“And you need to stop biting me like I’m a piece of meat - ”
“No one can see them!”
“Kazuma, you're doing it again - ”
“Doing wh - oh.” Kazuma burrowed his face into Ryunosuke’s chest, cheeks burning hot with shame. Ryunosuke couldn’t help but laugh; it wasn’t often that he got to embarrass Kazuma and render him speechless. “I...see that I’m not quite the partner I’d thought or, or hoped I was.”
“Last, but definitely not least - ” Ryunosuke abruptly took Kazuma’s face in one hand, squeezing his cheeks until his lips puckered “ - you don’t need to be quite so dramatic, either. I still love you all the same, Kazuma.” He smirked. “And I’ll say it as many times as you’d like; all you need to do is ask.”
Kazuma stared down at him with wide, imploring eyes. Then, he cocked his head to one side, his frown melting into a warm, radiant smile. “...again.”
“I love you.” Ryunosuke kissed Kazuma’s cheek, then the tip of his nose, then finally, his lips. Beaming, Kazuma kissed him back, a little sweeter this time, a little less sensual. “Especially because you’re a little needy, too.”
They fell silent for a few minutes, save for the steady sounds of the rain and thunder and wind whistling past their window, exchanging slow, languorous kisses and simply enjoying one other’s company. Though Kazuma spent more nights at Baker Street than not, in a way, it still felt as if they had months, even years, of lost time to make up for, even though they hadn’t been apart - or a part of each other’s lives, for that matter - for that long. It was times like these that Ryunosuke found himself reminiscing about their university days, the early days of their companionship, when they’d have spirited debates that ended in spirited laughter and meandering conversations about nothing in particular.
“I can hear you thinking, partner,” Kazuma murmured, brushing Ryunosuke’s hair out of his eyes. “Something wrong?”
“No, not at all,” Ryunosuke said, pulling away momentarily to yawn. “Only that we were supposed to be taking a nap, and instead, we spent the last ten minutes poking fun at each other. Though I suppose that’s just an extension of the way we speak to each other in court at times.”
“Susato-san has been scolding you about that as well, has she? Perhaps we do need to - I need to be more careful,” Kazuma corrected hastily when Ryunosuke leveled him with an impressively Kazuma-like glare. “Though we’d be in even more trouble if I were to, say, openly comment on how handsome you looked in court just last week, when your hair was a little bit longer in the back. I thought it suited you.”
“Why do we need to be in trouble at all?” Ryunosuke retorted, elbowing him a little harder than necessary. “I’d rather we do our jobs like the proper lawyers that we are - ”
“Well-behaved schoolboys, you mean,” Kazuma teased.
“ - and come home at the end of the day, where we can do as we please,” Ryunosuke finished.
Kazuma looked at him consideringly, his gaze impossibly soft. “Ryunosuke Naruhodo, are you implying you’d like me to move in someday?”
“What? I - ” Ryunosuke stared at him, momentarily stunned. Then, he relaxed, his head dropping back to his pillow, where Kazuma followed him down, their eyes still locked. “I, er...I thought that was a given. Though I worry that...that people might talk, as they’re wont to do.”
“Professor Mikotoba lived here with Mr Holmes for some time, did he not?” Kazuma pointed out. “Besides, even if people talk, why listen? All that matters is what we think of ourselves, as trite as that might sound.” He leaned in close, pressing a lingering kiss to Ryunosuke’s forehead. “So, just know that whenever you decide to ask, you already have my answer.”
“Then I think I’ll make you wait for just a little bit longer before I do...if only to get back at you for two nights ago,” Ryunosuke added with a smug smile, laughing when Kazuma glared daggers at him in response.
“And you think I’m the cruel one,” Kazuma muttered, pulling Ryunosuke into his arms once more so he could hold him rather possessively, their legs loosely intertwined beneath their mess of blankets. “You told me you enjoyed yourself.”
“I did, believe me,” Ryunosuke grinned, blushing faintly at the sudden vivid memory that had come to mind. “But just this once, I’d like to have the upper hand.” He then leaned in to kiss Kazuma’s exaggerated pout. “Anyway, we really should be getting to sleep now, or it’ll be time for dinner before we know it. I can barely keep my eyes open at this rate.”
“Agreed,” Kazuma said, yawning. He shuffled closer, dropping his forehead down to rest against Ruynosuke’s. “Good...morning, Ryunosuke.”
Ryunosuke shot him one last sleepy, fond smile before letting his eyes drift shut. “Good morning to you, too, Kazuma.”
_____
a/n: Welcome to my fourth entry for Asoryuu Week 2021! We've moved on from sad Kazuma hours to semi-horny Kazuma hours, I guess? Blame it on Kazuma talking about getting Ryunosuke off and holding his hand over a hot plate and finding ways to shut him up; you can't tell me he's not doing this at least a little bit on purpose. Anyway, I always love writing plotless cuddling fics where they basically talk about nothing. I could've made this way, way longer, easy, but we've still got three more days to go!
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed! Likes and reblogs would be much appreciated, and I hope you're all safe and healthy and doing well ❤️

haikyuu x first date
Including: Ukai • Daichi • Sugawara • Kiyoko • Tanaka
WARNINGS: none. just pure fluff. maybe my English
NOTE: you are aged up for Ukai‘s
masterlist
Tumblr media
Ukai Keishin
He would be so nervous just because you are so perfect to him
Because he is so nervous he‘d talk about his team. They are his pride
The boys would definitely suggest ideas for your date. Kageyama and Hinata think playing volleyball is a great idea for a date.
Keishin takes you to a small concert. It’s not your favorite band but they are covering a flew of your favorite songs.
The two of you would go for a walk afterwards
I think he would try not to smoke during the date, if you don’t like it.
He would drive you home afterwards and kiss you just before you leave his car. He would also wait in his car to make sure you get safe into your home
You are watching the band play some songs and while you enjoy the music, Ukai enjoys his view. Your eyes shine brighter than any star in the Milky-Way and he would do anything in the world for you to smile like that.
Tumblr media
Daichi Sawamura
Daichi wants to make it perfect but everything would go wrong
He is old fashioned so you two would go to a car cinema
Daichi even borrowed the Oldtimer-Cabrio form his grandpa.
Everything is perfect. You found your spot and got snacks, but right before the movie started, an enormous Truck parked right in front of you.
After half an hour it started to rain
So Daichi and you sit there. You can’t see the movie and you can’t hear it either because of the rain. You couldn’t care less. The car is cozy, warm and you could listen to his voice for an eternity.
He brings you to your door. It’s still raining and you told him he didn’t have to, but he insisted.
Daichi apologizes a hundred times for everything, but you just pull him down for a kiss.
Tumblr media
Sugawara Koushi
Our soft boy🌻❤️
We all know this date would be magical
He would bring you flowers but not roses more like some of his mother’s garden.
You don’t know how he did it, but he would prepare a whole picnic at the lake.
He baked you your favorite dessert
You just lay in the sun, listen to music and talk
You would eventually suggest to take a swim in the lake, because it’s so hot
You think he would be sweet but Suga would throw you into the water the second you look away
Tumblr media
Kiyoko Shimizu
Kiyoko is rather shy and I’m sure Tanaka and Noya would try to boost her confidence.
She might be beautiful and calm but you make her nervous with your smile and the way you look at her.
Food. I think Kiyoko is a foodie. So she would show you all her favorite cafes and streetfood marktes
You would share everything and even feed each other
She loves sweets but you prefer something spicy
Kiyoko would try to find something special that’s is sweet and spicy.
After a day of food and laughter you would take a break and watch the sunset.
Tumblr media
Tanaka Ryunosuke
Noya told him he should take you to an amusement park and after Ennoshita improved it, he did
You had luck, because the park has barely visitors that day.
Ryu tried to impress you by winning the biggest stuffed animal, but he ended up with a little panda. You love it anyway.
After a flew rides and a lot of sweets, the two of you took some pictures in the photo hut. Most of them are silly but there are a flew good ones. Ones where you smile at each other or where you kiss his cheek.
He keeps the one where you kiss him and he puts it next to his bed. His sister teases him because of that, but he doesn’t care.

The world as Dazai knows it ends when he is 26 years old, taking everyone else's memories with it. Even Akutagawa's.
However, Dazai isn't the kind of man who lets go.
For Dazaku Weekend on twitter. It’s kinda soft, actually
Word count: 2238
Content Warnings : none
There are only a handful of customers in the pub when he arrives. It’s well past one in the morning, but a group of three is laughing loudly at a table. The door doesn’t make a sound as it closes behind him, and Dazai stands in the entryway, rain dripping down the bottom of his coat, and he stares at the bartender filling up yet another round of beers.
One of them picks up the drinks and the bartender looks away from them, scanning the room, until he spots Dazai.
Immediately, Dazai grins, pretending he hadn’t been staring, and walks to the bar counter.
When Dazai is 26 years old, the world dies.
The memories of it are clear. Carefully combing through the floor plans of the facility Atsushi and Ryuunosuke needed to infiltrate. It took less than a second; enough time for him to look down, pointing at an entrance through the vent system, look up again, and finding himself alone.
The office empty. The plate at the door now proclaiming it to belong to an accounting company. Phone numbers nonexistent, or belonging to people he doesn’t know. No Agency, no Port Mafia — at least not the way he knew it — no abilities, and yet this world still seemed the same and went on unbothered.
It doesn’t go out with a bang. It comes with no burning pain and no infernal flames. There isn’t even a gust of wind. No, the world dies because of a handful of words written on the pages of a book.
Dazai settles on a stool, leaning his elbows on the bar counter — it’s been almost two full years now, and he’s become something of a regular here. Now he knows exactly when to come to get the bartender alone, but took him months to even gather the will to walk in. “The usual!” he calls out, just as the group of friends starts moving, chair scraping on the floor.
Soon enough they’re gone. Dazai always has perfect timing.
The man — what a terribly familiar face this man has — considers him for a second and, without even pretending to be happy to see him, sets an empty glass in front of him and drops a large ice cube inside. “What kind?”
“Whichever you feel like giving me.”
The bartender’s lips pull down into a slight scowl and grabs a bottle from the shelf, seemingly at random. Dazai rests his chin on the palm of his hand, watching the man as he fills up the glass. “Here.”
Taking a sip, Dazai’s empty grin fades into a sigh. “It’s a good one,” he says. “I’m growing on you, aren’t I? I knew you liked me, Akutagawa.”
For weeks, he would slip up and call him “Ryuunosuke” by accident.
He remembers, still, the embarrassed blush the first time it happened, the way they both looked away, avoiding his eyes, for days after — and, years ago, the way his Ryuunosuke’s fingers squeezed at his own as the habit settled in.
Akutagawa pauses, momentarily forgetting about the cork he’s supposed to put back on the bottle, before he shakes his head. "I do not.”
“You do~”
“And you are delusional.”  As Akutagawa rolls his eyes, Dazai finishes the drink, and pushes the empty glass towards him.
“Another!”
The whiskey pours out of the bottle and Dazai’s eyes slide from Akutagawa’s hands, steady and unmarked save from the tattoo peeking from his sleeve, to his face, softer, much less guarded than his Ryuunosuke’s. His eyes catching the light, his scowl eases on its own as he can’t bring himself to pretend to be mad at Dazai for too long.
But then again, without abilities, there is no Mafia, maybe less slums — or even no slums at all — and that must help.
On a whim, just as Akutagawa puts the bottle back down, Dazai reaches out and takes a hold of the other man’s wrist. He doesn’t flinch at his touch, only yanking his hand away when Dazai undoes the sleeve’s buttons. “What are you doing?” he hisses.
“I’ve always been curious about your tattoo.” He goes to grab his wrist again, but Akutagawa avoids his hand, lips pinched, annoyance written all over his face.
“Is that it? You know it’s considered polite to ask,” he scoffs, rolling back the sleeve himself, carefully folding it back over his elbow. “There.”
Dazai whistles appreciatively, not expecting it to spread across his whole forearm. “Nice. And they let you be a bartender with those?” Bosses don’t really like tattooed employees, or so he’s heard. Especially big tattoos.
“I have long sleeves.” Akutagawa shrugs. “And I take the night shifts.” He looks at his own arm, extending it so Dazai can see the tattoo better. “I had it inked two years ago.” He shifts on his feet awkwardly as Dazai traces a black line until it reaches a red spot with the tip of his finger. “Satisfied?”
His forearm is decorated with black ink, from the inside of his elbow to his wrist, forming familiar patterns within them — harsh line and a dragon, or maybe a hound, with patches of red ink instead of eyes. Rashomon, or what is left of it.
Two years ago . When the old world died and this one began. It’s hard imagining his Ryuunosuke with these, he’s never been one for frivolities like tattoos or jewelry, even if Dazai always thought it would suit him. He resists the urge of a “I told you so” that would only leave Akutagawa confused.
He lets go, and grabs his full drink. “Very satisfied.”
“Wonderful, I’m delighted.” Akutagawa answers dryly, and starts pulling his sleeve back down, not looking particularly delighted.
“Come on, don’t hide it!”
“I’m not supposed to show it. It’s unprofessional.”
“It’s just the two of us here. Besides, what’s life without a bit of unprofessionalism?”
“I’ve been unprofessional since I met you,” Akutagawa grumbles, but doesn’t try to hide his tattoo again. “I’m not supposed to speak this much with customers either. I have work, you know.”
“Glad to know I’m a corrupting influence in your life. It’s not like your boss is ever going to know about that, anyway.”
“Right.”
“Any other tattoos I should know about?”
“None.” Shaking his head in exasperation, Akutagawa turns away to wipe the counter. “Any reason why you are so nosy?”
“I’m just curious about you.”  He turns his drink a little until the ice cube makes a tingling sound as it hits the glass. “I mean, we have known each other for what, two years? I’m allowed a little bit of curiosity.”
“You already know more than all the other regulars put together.”
Which amounts to almost nothing — his name and his sister‘s, both Dazai already knew, job, which is not exactly hidden, doctorate subject, and now his tattoo — but this is not what Dazai hears. “So, what you are saying is—” Dazai pauses, grin back in full force. “— that I’m a special customer ."
There is a faint flush on Akutagawa’s cheeks, and Dazai is well aware of what that means.
On the day he walked into this pub, he wasn’t too sure what he was hoping for . Maybe for him to be Ryuunosuke, to ask him what the hell is going on, what kind of world is that, why aren’t abilities working? Or any other question that Dazai could’ve answered, anything that would’ve made him feel like he knew what he was doing, that the situation was manageable, that he wasn’t alone .
But it didn’t happen this way.
That first day, Dazai sat at the bar counter, asked for a whiskey, and Akutagawa gave him his drink, not a hint of recognition in his eyes.
This, maybe, hurts more than the loneliness.
The whiskey burns his throat. He smiles all the way through it.
A lifetime ago, Dazai fell in love with Ryuunosuke. He’d waited for years, unsure of what his feelings meant, or if they were even worth exploring.  After everything that happened between them, did he have the right to want this from him? Did he deserve it? Was it a good idea?
The answers were, of course, no, no and no. He made his move anyway.
On the other hand, today all they have is a blank slate, beyond Dazai’s late night drinking. Akutagawa is the same person, with a different set of memories, and he makes Dazai’s heart do summersaults in the same way as Ryunosuke did. So, what is the point of worrying over it now? And what does he have left to lose? His dignity?
Akutagawa?
No. That’s safe enough. He can read Akutagawa enough to know the risks are low and it doesn’t hurt to try. And if he’s wrong, which he highly doubts, he can back down anytime he wants. He is, after, a silly man, who wouldn’t be above making such a joke, right?
He sets the glass, half finished, back on the counter and it makes a decisive thump as it hits the wood. "Kiss me.”
+
Just a little over three years ago, in a universe that no longer exists, it goes like this:
“Kiss me,” Dazai demands.
In front of him Ryuunosuke stiffens, gaze briefly focusing on his lips, and Dazai can see all the fantasies playing in his mind. “Excuse me?”
“Come on.” He knows he has feelings for Ryuunosuke, and knows that Ryuunosuke returns them. The only thing he doesn’t know is how to address them in any other way. “I know you want to.”
“I—” His eyes go wide, and his voice catches in his throat. “Why?”
Dazai shrugs, smiling, unperturbed. “I thought I made myself clear. I want you to kiss me.”
“I—” he tries again. It’s not every day that Ryuunosuke is at loss of words. Despite his hesitation, Dazai already knows he won’t say no. There are things Ryuunosuke is ready to refuse him, especially since the vampire debacle and the cementing of his partnership with Atsushi, but not this. He won’t need to insist, because Ryuunosuke wants it as much as Dazai does.
When you know someone as long as Dazai and Ryuunosuke have known each other, that kind of things becomes easy to tell.
“Very well,” Ryuunosuke ends up saying, nodding to himself. “I’ll do it.”
It’s cute how he steels himself, how his expression turns determined, like he has just been given an important mission. He brings himself on his tiptoe to, clumsily, press a kiss on the corner of his lips.
He pulls back, the red of his face steadily spreading to the tip of his ears. “Was it what you wanted?”
Was it? “No.” Dazai shakes his head, and Ryuunosuke’s nose wrinkles in disappointment. “I meant a real one. Like this.” And he pulls him forward, one arm snaking around his waist to hold him tighter, into a full, proper kiss.
Ryuunosuke welcomes it, fingers grabbing onto his arms, he presses himself closer, until Dazai lets go of him and he takes a step back, breathing hard, starring at him, eyes like focused on Dazai and Dazai only . His phone vibrates in his pocket, but Ryuunosuke pays it no mind, having even forgotten why they were meeting in the first place, that they have work waiting for them, because all he can see and think about right now is Dazai .
Dazai always loved having Ryuunosuke’s undivided attention.
“So? Wasn’t it much better?”
“Let me try again,” Ryuunosuke demands, ignoring his question, and Dazai grins, “so I can give you a proper one.”
+
The world he knew is gone, no matter how Dazai will miss it and the people he used to know. Even finding the Book and writing in it won’t bring it back the way it was.
But Akutagawa abandons his cleaning to stand in front of Dazai, answering questions about his week as prompted, with a hint of a smile, and right now Dazai can’t quite bring himself to feel lonely.
So, today, in a universe which did not exist two years ago, it goes a little different:
The bar is still empty. It’s why he comes so late, after all — Akutagawa takes all the night shift, at this hour they have the pub to themselves, and even in this world Dazai still has Akutagawa’s complete attention.
“Kiss me,” he demands.
Akutagawa pauses for a short second, eyes straying first to the unfinished drink, the ice cube slowly melting into what is left of it — wondering if Dazai is drunk, maybe, but he has seen Dazai finish at least one more glass of that whiskey before being buzzed — before settling on his lips and lingering there a little too long.
Then, he slides the drink away, and before Dazai can protest he tucks one strand of hair behind his ear, leans over the bar counter, and kisses him.
The kiss is short, but firm, Akutagawa’s lips on Dazai’s without a moment of hesitation. No overthinking, no second guessing his action — a little like Ryuunosuke’s once he got used to kissing, but this is their first time and there is confidence in it that Ryuunosuke did not always have.
Not exactly like Ryuunosuke, but exactly like Akutagawa.
It lasts both forever and no time at all. Akutagawa pulls back, leaving Dazai missing the sensation and struggling to remember how to breathe.
“Bartender,” he manages to say, voice low, throat dry. “I would like another.”

[The final battle]
It was when the six fighters had arrived at the hideout. As if their arrival was anticipating, a loud voice roared from around them.
“Fight! Crush one another! We need not the weak! Only the strong may step forth!”

The fighters looked up. They could see a silhouette at the top of the tall building before them. His cape flapping, eyes glowing red, it was the boss of Karasunou, Sawamura. Sawamura’s provocative words had lit the fire in the fighter’s hearts. “Alright! I’m going to be the best here!” As Lev took up a fighting stance Kageyama, filled with fighting spirit, turned to face him. “Well then, I want to fight against the Fukuro-arts!”
“Alright! Bring it on Chibi-chan! Let’s fight!” As he watched the four beginning to fight, Ryuunosuke sat down, crossing his legs leisurely. “Well then, I’ll be seeded!” The only person who panicked watching the utterly engrossed fighters was Hitoka. “W-wait a second! If we work together we’ll be able to win against Sawamura!” But the passionate fighters weren’t listening. Right now for them, knowing which of them was stronger was all that occupied their minds. “I-I got ignored…since it’s come to this…” The gun that was drawn to stop them all was grabbed by a Shimizu who had suddenly appeared.
“How about you leave these barbaric pigs and become one of Sawamura-sama’s guards?” “L-let go! I joined the Interpol to get back the court that was stolen from my mother! I’m not going to be friends with you!” “Court… the one that Sawamura-sama spoke of?” In that moment, when Shimizu had let her guard down Hitoka shook her off, shooting warning shots while yelling, “Everyone stop! You shouldn’t fight!!” Hearing the sudden gunfire the fighter’s paused their battles and made off. And Hitoka ran crying after the boys she had opened fire on. The worried enemy Shimizu tailed along, catching the escaping Ryunosuke and Kotaro before beating them with her whip. “Shame on you, you pigs.”  “Oink!!”  Sawamura, who was watching everything unfold on the ground from the command room tapped his fingers against the window frame. “Enemies and subordinates all doing as they please. I guess I really do need to get a different job…”
To Be Continued…?
NOTE: there is no next chapter. This is the end! It seems just like a fun, silly little bonus parody!

 Footnotes:
 ● ‘The Spider’s Web Thread’ is a short story by Akutagawa Ryunosuke about an act of mercy of Buddha, in which He lowers a thread down into Hell - an escape route - to allow a chance to a sinner with good still in his hearts.... Will he latch on and climb out? It’s a wonderful piece.. A translation is available
.
 Interviews:
 ● Via Gekirock Interviewer: On the flipside of the coin, HELL”O” seems like a song infused with only the darkness of the heart. This type of song was never seen in Omedetai’s roster before.
Sekihan: Up until now we’ve focused on the joys of music, but deep down I actually think this world is a living hell. Omedetai is grounded on the concept of turning negatives into positives, but the fact that we ourselves have negatives inside us just like everyone else was, well, kinda undisclosed before. It’s hard to hit these things into a song or a short performance. The first time I divulged my heart at a long concert MC, everyone kinda went ‘Wow, so he feels like that huh’. People don’t know- and it turns out… people who are extremely depressed or mentally struggling seem to get pissed off when they hear our songs.
Interviewer: The songs are so bright and happy at a glance, huh.
Sekihan: According to some, it feels like it embosses the darkness within them and makes them want to scream “Shut up!”. ‘That’s the perverse effect’ I thought. Giving form and bringing light to those such jittery oozy festering feelings is literally number one on our job agenda. If we can’t even do that, then there’s no reason for us to tell you to have fun. Of course we’re not free of negativity, it’s the very biofuel for our positivity. So I took note of the necessity to shamelessly shamelessly show everyone what it looks like before it’s processed. The opportunity arised along with the full album - we had room for a more negative piece. Thus we came to the decision to do one.
Interviewer: Up until now your writing process involved changing the bad into good. Once you had to write the bare naked bad as is, was there any problems you encountered with?
Sekihan: Actually it feels like we’ve gone all-natural.
324: ‘Cause normally we’re forcing ourselves (laughs).
Mito-juu: Don’t say that!!
mao: Personally when I first saw the lyrics I was sold in an instant.
Sekihan: Seriously? It is true that none of my mates went hard on the editor’s red pen of death this time. Normally they beat the shit out of me with it (laughs). Well now I know that when someone’s truly miserable, it’s best to welcome that misery with open arms. Just saying “You can do it, feel better!” won’t save them. So we have to welcome the misery, soothe it, and only then does our music come it: its turn to give them a boost. I hope this works out well with everyone.
Interviewer: I see.
 ● Via Omedetai official + Kansai Pia
Interviewer: One thing that caught my attention was Poniki’s Twitter post reading “Even I feel like everything in life is stupid fucking bullshiiiit, arghhhh!! - But the band’s branding just prevents me from showing it!”
Ponikingdom: This album served to iron out that idea.
Sekihan: We’re supposed to be guys who ruminate the negatives then output them as positives. But after hearing feedback I learned that sometimes we were interpreted differently: people who are leagues deep in depression say that listening to our songs ticks them off, (laugh) it drags them deeper into depression. Our ultimate goal is akin to literally acting as a spokesperson for upset people, so when I heard that we were actually being counterproductive I was shocked.
Of course we feel negative feelings just like everyone else. So enough beating around the bush I said, we gotta express it directly. Hence “This world is a living hell” is the keyword of HELL”O". And once 324-kun saw that, he followed suit and included the lyric “Karmic hell” in ‘Kotoba no Ayaya’.  With these songs in their rightful place, they even helped to bring out the brightness in our positive songs, I think listeners will view us more as people now and I hope these songs are acting as a helping hand to pull depressed people out and up to higher heights.
Interviewer:  Omedetai always look like they're having a blast, and look like they’re as positive as can be.. So it makes sense that there are people who don’t fit in such a place.
Sekihan: But I don’t want to shrink and turn my back to them. I think I’ve managed to make space for them too. So this is the fruit of my growth.

Iori: With you, IDOLiSH7 will definitely have our day in the sun.
Iori: Your voice is a weapon. Thus....
Iori: Whatever issue you're hiding could end up being a giant ticking time bomb for the group. If we're not lucky, it could be the end of us all.

Yamato: Manager, it's not going to stop raining even if we wait, right?
Sogo: ...There's a lot of people lined up outside the station. Maybe the trains are suspended because of the typhoon.
Tamaki: Because being stuck at the station is boring. They can kill time with us.
Mitsuki: I'm with Tamaki. We're already here anyway. While everyone is waiting for the train, let's have some fun.
Yamato: Haha... You're right. We're all already wet, so let's at least dance before we go home.
Tsumugi: .....Huh? Riku-san, what's wrong...? You haven't even performed yet, but you're already out of breath.
Riku: Haa.... haa.... I'm OK. I was running around a bit just now.
Iori: ……….
Tsumugi: OK, let's go! Everyone here? Standby!
All: OK!

Reporter: We're here live at Shibuya Station. The trains are suspended due to the typhoon.
Reporter: The area in front of the station is crowded with stranded passengers, waiting for the trains to start running.
Reporter: At the front of a crowd, what is that? Is it a band? Cheerful voices are singing to the crowd!
Reporter: Young businessmen and women have gathered here on their way home from work.
Reporter: With enough energy to blow away the typhoon, they're bringing a lot of excitement to the crowd!
Spectators: Ahhhhhh..!
Reporter: To everyone back at the studio, Japan is still going strong!
-
Tenn: ......this voice.....
Ryunosuke: They were only on for a second, but wasn't that the group from before? What was it, Idoli....
Gaku: IDOLiSH7.
Gaku: They already moved on to something else. They really were only on for a second.
Ryunosuke: Are you worried about them?
Gaku: Not really. ....Whoa...!

Ryunosuke: What's wrong? Tenn...?
Tenn: .....In the middle of a typhoon... What is that idiot doing....?

Sogo: Riku-kun! Hold on...! This is bad... He can't breathe.
Iori: Osaka-san! Go look in Nanase-san's bag.
Sogo: Riku-kun's bag?
Iori: He should be carrying a rescue inhaler in there.
Sogo: Inhaler...?!
Iori: Nanase-san.... has a respiratory disease. He can't do strenuous exercise for extended periods of time.
Sogo: ............! No way.........
To be continued…

Hornet’s Nest
Hornets have always lived in Akutagawa's chest, but sometimes they get angry and start to sting. When that happens, he does things he can't help but regret. Like crying in front of Atsushi or admitting out loud he's in love with him. [read it on ao3] Warning for anxiety and panic attacks.
A hornet's nest lived in Akutagawa's chest.
He wasn't sure when it was formed--not that he really cared to know--but it was certainly there now and it'd been there since he was 14, at least. It always hummed, even if only the smallest bit. Occasionally it kept him from taking deep breaths or stopped him from doing things but mostly it wasn't a problem he couldn't force himself through.
But then there were times like this, where some strong emotion kicked the nest hard. The hornets would start to sting his lungs, then they reach his chest, and next his eyes and lungs. Before he had any hope of stopping it, he'd be crying and heaving out breaths even more painful than usual. He always completely lost control of himself, so he knew better than to stick around in public when he felt the kick.
"Akutagawa? Are you okay?"
Atsushi has clearly seen the glazed look in his eyes and now he looks at his partner with a concerned gaze. Akutagawa stared back hollowly. "I'm fine," his words are little more than a croak, a clear sign that the answer was 'no'. But he pushed on anyways, "Go on ahead," he tries desperately to hide the ragged breath he has to suck in, "I'll catch up."
To his credit, Atsushi doesn't question him. Perhaps it's a sign of trust, but Akutagawa chooses it to see it as a sign of his dislike for the rabid dog. Atsushi trots up the street and Akutagawa huddles in an alley, pushing himself as far into a corner as he can. By now, the hornets have made their way to his tongue and Akutagawa covers his mouth in hopes his hands will hide the sounds forcing their way out from between his lips.
It was a strange feeling, being in love. From fairytales and books you'd think it was an enjoyable thing, something that made you feel invincible and weightless. That was not Akutagawa's experience with it. Being in love felt desperate and terrifying. It was hollow and painful and it always made the hornets act up. He hated it. But...
He loved Atsushi. More than he loved himself. More than he loved breathing or fighting or getting Dazai's approval. Despite the pain, he loved Atsushi and he wouldn't give it up, because he was joy in this gloomy man's life.
Perhaps the feeling would stop being so hollow if he could just tell him. But emotions are weaknesses, that's why he always stamped them down. Sharing such desperate, hopeless feelings of love with Atsushi could hardly help him. If Atsushi hated the him as he was now--and he almost certainly did--how could he possibly accept him as an emotional mess like this. A weakling.
He feels as if his eyes are rubbed raw by this point. He can't have been here that long, but it has felt like an eternity of painful breaths and never ending tears. What a miserable human being he was.
Generally, he knows he can let out some of the hornets by freeing some emotions. If he's angry, he can destroy a trash can. If he's sad, he can scream into a pillow. When he's in love... he doesn't know what to do. Waiting it out will take far too long. His stomach hurts from the sobs. He's exhausted from crying. He needs to do something. He can't just sit here and pant like a dog in the alleyway forever. Atsushi will come looking for him eventually, if for no other reason than he needs another pair of eyes. If Atsushi saw him crying, Akutagawa may never recover.
Trying to steady out his breathing, he looks up, breathing through the gaps in his fingers. It starts raining as if one cue, a heavy raindrop hitting him right in the cheek. A miserable day for a miserable mood. Perhaps, at least now, he won't look as if he was a sobbing mess if Atsushi does find him.
"I love you," the words are through his lips before he really thinks them. His tongue does tend to have a mind of it's own in these situations. He couldn't even gauge how loud he had said it because his ears were ringing. Did he scream it? Had Atsushi heard? Or was it just barely above a whisper?
What he did know was that he could feel his lungs relax. The hornets seemed to pause in their mission and a few returned to their nest to cause their usual trouble.
After a dozen more heaving breaths, he clings to that slight relief and sets himself to mumbling it over and over again, slowly shrinking into a ball each time it's repeated until he's crying huddled into the corner of a dirty alleyway. He can't believe his own patheticness. Whispering "i love you's" to someone who isn't even there, crying in the rain in an alley. It's worse than a romance film. He can hardly stand himself.
But it's helping. His breaths are evening out and the tears slowing down. His lungs burn less than before and the hornets have almost completely left his tongue. His head is clearer now and he feels like he can actually make sane judgements. But, he still just has to admit one last time. Not to calm down now, but simply for himself. To let him know this feeling is real for him and that he's not crazy. That he's not faking it.
"I--love Atsushi." His confession is barely above a whisper--he himself can barely hear it--but it floods him with a strange warmth. It feels nice to admit it, even if it's only to himself in an alley, in the rain.
The rain stops falling on him abruptly and the sound of it falling on the street is drowned out by the sound of water hitting plastic. Akutagawa's heart stops in his chest.
He looks up to see Atsushi holding an umbrella over their heads, staring down shocked at the rabid dog.
The heart he'd just worked so hard to calm starts racing once again. His legs go completely numb with adrenaline from the sight of this. How long had he been there? Had he heard him? With the look on this face, he had to. He wills himself to move and run away; he doesn't want to deal with the disgusted look on Atsushi's face when what Akutagawa had said finally sinks in. But he can't move, only stare up in abject horror.
"It... started raining and you didn't have an umbrella," Atsushi says as part of a flustered explanation. Akutagawa has a moment of relief where he thinks perhaps Atsushi hadn't heard him at all. But a blush spreads on the other man's cheeks and those hopes are dashed. Akutagawa feels sick to his stomach. There is no universe where this goes well. He needs to run before he loses everything he had with Atsushi in the first place.
"Ryunosuke," the use of his first name floors him and causes his heart to beat faster--whether in nervousness or joy he can't tell. It freezes him in place and keeps him from running. Atsushi bites his lip before speaking again, seeming unsure of himself. "Can I kiss you?"
It's so far from the question he was expecting, Akutagawa is literally left speechless. He stares up at his partner for a long moment before nodding, very slowly.
Atsushi beams a smile, like he's so excited and has been waiting for this his whole life. He leans over and kisses Akutagawa, right on the lips.
A lot of emotions explode in Akutagawa at once, but probably the strongest is pure embarrassment. His cheeks are likely the shade of a pomegranate and his heartbeat is unreasonably fast considering the fact he's barely moved in the last 10 minutes.
But Atsushi doesn't seem to mind in the least and Akutagawa leans into the kiss, unable to convey the joy he's feeling that it's even happening. He reaches for his partner's free hand, hesitantly. He still expects him to pull away, despite what's happening. His fingers tremble as he brushes against Atsushi's thumb lightly. It's genuine joy that floods his heart when Atsushi doesn't pull away and he laces their fingers together. The other man smiles against his lips.
Eventually, Atsushi makes a sound a bit like a giggle and mutters, "My back hurts."
Akutagawa covers his mouth in embarrassment and scrambles to his feet while Atsushi straightens up himself. He has his fingers pressed against his lips like he's trying to keep the sensation of their kiss there.
Adorable.
"Your lips are salty," Atsushi complains lightly, taking Akutagawa's hand again. It's unusual for Akutagawa to feel he doesn't have to pull away from the touch and the blush somehow deepens, although he thinks that should certainly be physically impossible by now.
Atsushi's tone changes from teasing to concern. "Ryunosuke," the use of his first name again takes his breath away, "Were you crying? Are you okay?"
Akutagawa goes silent and mentally refuses to answer. Atsushi's grip on his hand tightens a bit, "Was it my fault? I'm sorry..."
Does he have to blame everything on himself? Akutagawa gives a slight shake of his head and looks him in the eye. If he were a braver man, he'd caress his cheek and kiss him again to reassure him. As it is though, he's far to shy for that. "It wasn't your fault," he tells him.
The other man smiles lightly, but it looks as if he doesn't believe him. "You should have just told me, you dolt," Atsushi says, "Then you didn't have to sit here and get all wet in the rain."
By this point, Akutagawa has to be so red he might as well be a pomegranate, "I--I didn't think that... you know..." He stops, frustrated with himself for stuttering. That's hardly like him.
"'You know' what?" Atsushi challenges him, but Akutagawa is not brave enough once again to answer him. Atsushi lets the silence hang in the air for a while, but as usual doesn't push. He takes a breath and pulls Akutagawa farther under the umbrella, "As it is, I'm really happy you said something."
Atsushi puts his hand on Akutagawa's waist and he panics for a second. The sensation is new and terrifying, but he loves it. "I'm, um, gonna kiss you again," Atsushi tells him.
Hearing him stutter is endearing. He knew Atsushi wasn't an endless well of confidence from the start, but when he seemed to be so calm compared to Akutagawa, watching him hesitate made his heart skip a beat. Akutagawa gave him a slight, genuine smile--rare from such a melancholic creature--and leaned until their lips came together.
Yes. This all was going to be terrifying, but if every kiss felt like this, it was definitely going to be worth it.

INFINATE POSSIBILITIES, FULL MOON IN SAGITTARIUS HOROSCOPES
Infinite Possibilities: Full Moon in Sagittarius Horoscopes
See what June's Full Moon in Sagittarius means for your sign
Source, By Rick Levine
The cosmic energy is quite powerful as the Full Moon in adventurous Sagittarius on June 9, 2017, urges us to stretch beyond our limits. We are reminded that we don't need to settle for less, even when circumstances are difficult, because there is something more than what meets the eye. Confident Jupiter ends its retrograde period within an hour of this Full Moon, widening our horizons even further. Since Jupiter is the ruling planet of Sagittarius, this direct turn brings a powerful message of encouragement as we reactivate ideas that have been stalled for one reason or another.
Although the Sagittarius Full Moon offers an uplifting message, it's not just about fun and games. Luna's conjunction with taskmaster Saturn can rain on our parade of pleasure unless we're willing to do the hard work required to achieve our goals. Meanwhile, the cosmic lovers, Venus and Mars, tempt us with the possibilities of romance and lure us into the dance of relationships. Attractive Venus in sensual Taurus is a reliable magnet for sweet experiences. Her cooperative sextile to red-hot Mars can fire up passions, but Mars in nurturing Cancer is more protective than assertive. The potential for love looms large as long as we aren't tricked into taking any shortcuts.
Aries Horoscope (March 21 - April 19)
Although your optimistic approach to relationships makes your day brighter, you are still practical enough to meet reality head on. The Sagittarius Full Moon magnifies your 9th House of Big Ideas, but current circumstances make it tricky to hold onto your ideals. Unfortunately, life seems to be more complicated than you wish, even with a solid plan in place. Remain open to the likelihood of shifting desires. However, your heightened determination and perseverance prevents others from raining on your parade.
Taurus Horoscope (April 20 - May 20)
Oddly enough, you're longing to experience the depth of your feelings. The Sagittarius Full Moon falls in your 8th House of Intimacy, inspiring you to seek out sensual delights without worrying about how others perceive you. Your normal discomfort with emotional intensity stems from your desire for simplicity. Sometimes the only way to recreate a less complicated existence is to resign yourself to the process and go through a phase of increased complexity. Never underestimate the power of persistence.
Gemini Horoscope May 21 - June 20)
You're fascinated by a plethora of interests and you love to jump from one clever thought to another. But the expansive Sagittarius Full Moon illuminates your 7th House of Relationships, amplifying the emotions of those people closest to you. But you still might resist the flow of feelings or even question your desirability when it comes to intimacy. Stop looking for more data and start acting on what you already know to be true. Having a soft heart in a cruel world is courage, not weakness.
Cancer Horoscope (June 21 - July 22)
You often leave your strongest desires unspoken without even telling your secrets to those you love and trust. Unfortunately, this cautious strategy reduces the likelihood of being fully satisfied in a relationship. Much to your chagrin, your belief that people should just intuitively know what you need isn't based on reality. The extroverted Sagittarius Full Moon lights up your 6th House of Habits, inspiring you to step out of your comfort zone. Improve your chances for emotional fulfillment by putting your feelings out in the open. A good relationship starts with good communication.
Leo Horoscope (July 23 - Aug. 22)
You are ready for a little romance, but you must meet your previous commitments first if you really want to pursue love. The Sagittarius Full Moon casts its light in your 5th House of Play, revealing your current desire to open up your heart and let someone special in. Be sure you know what you're getting yourself into before taking things to the next level. Creating a list of all the potential risks and rewards can help you decide whether or not to move forward in the game of love. Ben Franklin wrote, "If passion drives you, let reason hold the reins."
Virgo Horoscope (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22)
A little extra tension can push you into some very dynamic situations. You may not be as relaxed as you wish while the Sagittarius Full Moon activates your 4th House of Security, prompting you to seek the utmost clarity in professional and personal relationships. Worries about your uncertain career path could dredge up old fears and emotional insecurities. Thankfully, your negativity has less power once your concerns are seen in the light of day. Poet Ryunosuke Satoro wrote, "Let your dreams outgrow the shoes of your expectations."
Libra Horoscope (Sept. 23 - Oct. 22)
There's no reason to worry about what you might be missing, even if you feel like harmonious relationships are hard to find. The Sagittarius Full Moon energizes your 3rd House of Communication, empowering you to express what you want from others. However, don't attempt to transform dark into light too fast or you could prevent the most transformational magic from coming to fruition. Channel your passions into creating a viable plan for the future. Controlled growth is naturally more sustainable than a sudden breakthrough. Moliere wrote, "The trees that are slow to grow bear the best fruit."
Scorpio Horoscope (Oct. 23 - Nov. 21)
Staring down your fears could lead to questioning your basic beliefs. The truth is you can't expect others to love you if you don't fully love yourself. Thankfully, the inspirational Sagittarius Full Moon brightens your 2nd House of Self-Esteem, encouraging you to see yourself in a different light. You possess the undeniable power to eliminate old tapes that are playing outmoded songs. But don't wait for a better time to dance to your music; create a new soundtrack for your life while the planets are singing along.
Sagittarius Horoscope (Nov. 22 - Dec. 21)
Your emotional intensity can be too much to handle and people might tiptoe around you because they don't want to trigger your temper. The exuberant Sagittarius Full Moon lands in your 1st House of Personality, prompting you to go as far as you can when making your point. But you're not interested in being placated; instead, you want everyone to understand your truth. Consider this as a gentle reminder that the world does not revolve around you, and that others are entitled to their own opinions. Turn off the rhetoric and turn on your love light.
Capricorn Horoscope (Dec. 22 - Jan. 19)
You may be relatively satisfied with your daily routine, but you grow less certain about your path in life when the Sagittarius Full Moon falls in your 12th House of Destiny. Give yourself permission to go through a process of self-doubt while recognizing this is just a temporary phase. Your primary job is to gain an objective perspective on your current habits so that you can begin to eliminate the ones keeping you from achieving your highest potential. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam said, "You have to dream before your dreams can come true."
Aquarius Horoscope (Jan. 20 - Feb. 18)
You can play your knowledge to your advantage by relying on your deep understanding of the power of the collective. The Sagittarius Full Moon graces your 11th House of Social Networking, motivating you to discover what the group needs to thrive. Using your innate charm helps you get what you want, but be careful about stirring up emotionally charged material. Ironically, you might not even be aware of the psychological buttons you are pushing. Don't go looking for trouble when there isn't any or you might just find it.
Pisces Horoscope (Feb. 19 - March 20)
You can't decide whether you want to be in the spotlight or not. The free-spirited Sagittarius Full Moon shines in your 10th House of Status, enabling you to be comfortable on stage or in a public arena. But Luna's opposition to the Sun in your 4th House of Home and Family encourages you to maintain a lower profile. Although you might prefer to work behind the scenes, it's still time to claim the power that you have rightfully earned. Author S. Kelley Harrell wrote, "We don't heal in isolation, but in community."

Erased 6 – 13 (not including the digest) | Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu 1 - 4 | Eldlive 1 | Prince of Stride: Alternative 1
The idea from now on for SGRS: Expect first time watches for this show (for the second season) and don’t expect ratings after each ep. Once all 2016 shows are done (rewatches or not), expect the 2016 ranking.
The idea from now on for POSA: Once all 2016 shows are done (rewatches or not), expect the 2016 ranking.
(ep 6)
Even with only subs, you can hear the seriousness in the manager’s voice.
Asagi beer, LOL.
This speech bubble style really works in the camera angles’ favour.
Airi’s mother reminds me of Midoriya’s mum from Boku no Hero Academia.
Shinji-go. “Go”… I didn’t really know how to explain it so I let Wiktionary do it for me.
I really love Airi’s motivational quotes around this point. So much, that I used it as motivation all through 2016…although I didn’t get any great results from it…
(ep 7)
Okay, that scrolling scene with the kids…that’s just cheap. They aren’t even animated.
It says something like “Preserve water” or “Water is important” on the wall behind the tap.
That “stand out in the hallways with those buckets” is pretty typical for an anime. I wonder whether any real Japanese person has done that, though?
Oh yeah. I think I was initially attracted to this due to the fact it looks a lot like Detective Conan when you see Satoru negotiating the future by changing his past.
I think I had to learn what a “patsy” meant for this scene, but a patsy is just a substitute, specifically in this case for collateral damage.
Does that mean Kenya lived (or lives) in a big house?
(ep 8)
Wait – wait? How did Gaku know how Kayo was safe…unless he was the murderer? I didn’t question that the first time, but this just makes the ending even worse. This dude’s already proved he doesn’t act on compulsion like Satoru does, so that adds to it.
That joke about Satoru being 29 does get a bit worn out when it gets used here…
Mt. Hakodate…I’d heard of it from Touken Ranbu. It’s a good place for low level swords, IIRC.
POP Noodle, LOL.
Crying in media is much more emotional if you can hear the crying, unfortunately. That’s why I passed on “Kayo’s first homecooked meal” for the Crunchyroll Awards.
(ep 9)
Akemi’s (Kayo’s mother’s) eyes were so off model before the shovel scene, it made it hard to take Akemi seriously.
It’s weird how much Gaku looks like he should be Satoru’s dad.
Akemi was “Takashima” before she was “Hinazuki”, and her partner’s name at the time of her divorce was Kazuo.
CGI car…again. Geez.
I think the kanji for “closure” mean the ending curtain, like that of a play, but I can’t quite remember their literal meaning…
“I have to stop somewhere.”
Gaku’s talking about his experiences somehow reminds me of a chat I had with Elucida on the Boueibu chat. Probably because the instigator of the chat had to apologise…
I wonder if the man (Gaku) was lying about the lollies?
“I am a man.” – Translation choices make Hiromi seem a little too macho for his girly looks, haha. *cringes, because I hear emphasis on “am”, with a lesser emphasis on “man” in my head*
I just realised – Kayo won’t go to Mt Hakodate as she’s supposed to anymore…It makes me sad on the inside.
(ep 10)
Holy plays, Batman! Romeo and Juliet for an 11 year old is pretty far fetched considering I only read it when I was…um…16 or 17. I haven’t even read King Lear yet so consider me out of this. (Shucks...even though I used to be an avid reader, I’m only ordinary now, huh?)
LOL. In the end, Kenya really is a little kid, getting all offended about hideouts, haha.
I thought the “getting rid of someone’s alone time is a good thing” sentence was a bit weird until I realised what context Hiromi used it in.
“On the outs”? I didn’t know what that meant until I checked it up. Well, considering I make my own phrases up a lot and I tend to omit small words in the vein of “wut dis?”, maybe I’m just too slang for the subbers.
CGI bus? Man, you ruined the solemn mood a bit, Mr Bus.
See? These CGI cars (and truck) are why I have gripes with CGI transport. It sticks out too much. However, for something like Ajin (which can only be found in CGI form), I don’t mind it so long as everything else about it is good. Speaking of which, I still have yet to see Ajin (as of the point of typing).
“…spirit and drive.” – Because the camera focussed on Gaku’s hands just then, I had to LOL in my head a little.
Manabu = Gaku by virtue of alternate character reading. Isn’t kanji great? (sarcastic)
This sublimation, I presume? I checked it up once, but it was never of any use.
(ep 11)
The Spider’s Thread, as told by Ryunosuke Akutagawa. Bungou taught me about it, but I’m not sure the Bungou instance is the one I first met it in.
This fourth wall breaking…it’s somewhat disturbing, but that’s the mood the staff were going for. Very effective.
I’ve always wondered why the “Boku” in the titlecard had a different font. Maybe the staff just didn’t have a “boku” in the font they’d written the title in…
I guess it must be my warped perception of beauty due to bishonen, but when Satoru is lying on the bed with slightly sallow cheeks, he almost looks…beautiful. (That’s a scary thought, isn’t it?)
“Future”…such a powerful name, since it happens to be the name of the baby, too.
Imagine if Kayo and Yuri Katsuki’s (Yuri!!! on Ice) backstories were stitched together.
A gingko leaf. They have a very distinctive shape…(Reminds me of Fusae Campbell from Detective Conan.)
Gaku is just represented by a black silhouette in some frames. Basically, you could call it another Detective Conan reference of sorts.
(ep 12)
The problem with the ending that I have, if you don’t know already, is that it suddenly makes you realise that Satoru would either die or have planned/have some caveat to get out of/around a potential death. Unfortunately, they don’t show you when he’s made those plans, thus being deceptive by omission if they were even made.
CGI hamster wheel…?
By the laws of ordinary protagonist writing…I give you the ending. The ending that dissatisfied me so much, it definitely left SGRS first for 2016.
They never explained how the rail was pulled open either, come to think of it.
Hey, it’s Boys’ Flight. The magazine he was reading earlier in the show. Don’t remember what ep, though.
Hey, did I ever mention to you that I tried to open up an Erased wiki, only to find one already open? There’s still two wikis existing right now for some reason, though.
Well, it’s been a wild ride. Thanks all, if you’ve been coming along with me and hope to see you again soon.
(SGRS ep 1)
Zony, LOL. Did Sony exist in that era?
If you observe the left flag when Yotaro stops at the front of the theatre, you can see the characters for “Amakentei” (rain-bamboo-stand, or something like it). That’s Kappei Yamaguchi’s character…Update: Must’ve been a mistake on my part. Amaken is a critic, but not a rakugoka himself.
Yotaro’s still got all the mannerisms of a gangster, LOL. (Including interrogation technique.)
There’s a sign in the back of Yotaro when he talks to Yakumo for the first time. It says “Sumi” (top – bottom) “Sushi” (L – R).
Yotaro uses the word “tanomu”, which is a respectful way of saying “I beg of you”. Very respectful. The most polite kind of respectful.
Mukojima? Huh? I guess that’s a deliberate bungling of Konnichiwa? (Update: Nope.) However, I’m still a noob to rakugo myself, despite having created the wiki to spread some Yakumo love.
Note for later: Shinigami has a distinctive “Ajaraka mokuren kyuraisu tegeretsuno pa!” in it.
What’s the old man writing?
It’s a transformation of sorts, from Yota being nervous to showing off what he’s got. That’s what makes SGRS so powerful.
I was pondering this since the start of the performance, but Yota’s shark-like teeth make him a very distinctive character. Then again, there’s always that one cue or other to tell you that a certain character is in the house.
Should a woman only have her beauty? I never believed it and that’s what I set out to prove in my stories, but…social mores were different back then, so I can’t speak for Konatsu.
Oh! I completely forgot about this guy (Mangetsu) until he came back in ep 14.
Notes for later: “Namu myoho renge kyo…”/a pilgrim climbing Mt Minobu
There is a slight irony in a woman telling a man to “man up”. Subbers, you put that there.
(ep 2)
Oh? Were you wondering what those “notes for later” were for? The wiki, naturally. SGRS’s only presence is me most days, so I’d better keep it up to date.
This show never fails to make me laugh, even if the laughter gets more subdued the second time.
Apparently people get sento and onsen confused a lot. Sento are normally cheaper smaller establishments compared to onsen, as far as I know.
Why is there a cat in the room?!
The “Hatsu” in Hatsutaro means “beginning”, while the “Kiku” in Kikuhiko is a chrysanthemum, so…yeah. Take it as you will.
“…your first time?” (laughs behind back) No wonder Haruko Kumota was a BL mangaka before she did SGRS.
Even without the volume, the visual language can tell you Kiku’s doing something wrong. That’s the power of this show.
“Akanbou” is a Japanese word for baby, as you may have guessed. However, people seem to use the word “aka-chan” more these days. Thus, another guess tells you that “shiro” is white and “ao” is blue. Right again.
You can almost hear the voices even with only subs! Amazing!
Fish cake. Technically called kamaboko, but “fish cake” is the translation for it so I guess I shouldn’t be such a weeb.
(ep 3)
“…it’ll become standard in the rakugo world.”
Oh, the cat is Yakumo 7th’s.
Mosquito coils? When were they invented?
CGI train? I barely noticed it there. Plus…poor Kiku. He never gets the girls.
Kagurazaka.
Were sento really cheap enough to be five coins?
(ep 4)
Do those girls count as off model?
The texture on the bricks of the restaurant are hyperrealistic…I like it. Better than that messed up CGI you get on most cars in anime these days.
Kuma -> Kumako. I wonder why.
As I’ve noted on the wiki, the pun about the samurai involves the word samui (cold). Therefore the original pun would’ve been “now you die out here in the cold, samurai”, but if you’re going for lame jokes that work seamlessly into the rakugo, then…the samu-die joke pretty much does its job.
There was the word “open” twice in one sentence…subbers, you need to proofread sometimes.
The “treasure sacks” pun is on kintama…welp, I won’t explain it, but “family jewels” apparently works just as well.
If Mukojima is a place, then why were people saying it in ep 1?
LOL, Matsuda. Going “I won’t have anything to do with this” is bound to get you in trouble nonetheless.
Yakumo’s heart is so clearly not into it. You can tell from the body language.
(Eldlive 1)
I’m here because I fell out of love with Hibari a while back and I need to give Akira Amano another chance. Also, Lane Brick…maybe.
Wait. It’s a Mukuro! With glasses! That foreshadows the pain I’m gonna be in for.
Welp, considering I read the manga this was adapted from not too long ago (as of the time of watching this), it’s pretty faithful. Even if it does look visually pretty, I did come up with a story like this once but it never took off when it came to writing the story. Considering it also bears some similarity to One Wish They Never Wanted, it’ll never take off now.
Finally(!) Something to laugh at. Reborn injoke.
…Unfortunately, with the faithfulness of the manga comes the pervasive problem – I thought Eldlive was a bit subpar. I could see all the right tropes were there to make a hit, but I couldn’t see any real talent showing through, as if Amano’s resigned herself to doing only shonen because Reborn succeeded. It was Hibari that taught me you can have a cute bird sidekick instead of a monster designed from scratch, so why can’t Eldlive do that too?
Drew (the voice) is getting annoying already. Shaddap!
…another “unfortunately” is that Lane Brick isn’t too pretty compared to how I like my bishonen, but YMMV on that.
I didn’t check it when I read the manga…but Jean Renoir.
Great. (sarcastic) Bungou humour, to boot! That wasn’t in the original…and it’s just grim, too.
These mammary jokes aren’t doing it for me either, although they were in the original.
Verdict: Not taking it.
(POSA ep 1)
Prince of Stride was a new experience for me, as I thought I needed to add “sport anime” to my repetoire at the time. Unfortunately, I still haven’t gotten past my biases against sport anime even after finishing this…
Welp, I take back what I’ve said about OPs in the first episode. If it’s a good OP, it helps to set the norm.
CGI basketball. One of the weirdest things on the list of “things given CGI form in anime” to date, because it’s mostly cars.
Sad life. When people in a rejected club see that twist coming, it’s like a 4th wall break…kinda sorta.
Did I ever mention that this show is motivational? It’s really good for that, and colourful so it’s good for desktop wallpapers. (Also, it has a summer theme to it, so while I swelter, lemme just watch a show about running…and sweating…bad idea? I guess so. (sarcastic) However, there isn’t any better season to watch it in. Sweat – or imagined sweat – isn’t good any season of the year, so might as well watch it while I still have time.)
Tsurugiya…if Google-sensei serves me correctly…it’s in Osaka…? Update: I knew he came from somewhere in the country, but Hyogo is a different place to Osaka…
“Blue Sonic”. Well, it’s not like there would be a magazine called Sanic. Or Knuckles, for the matter.
What’s with the panda, though? Although, as some very obvious foreshadowing tells you, (Kyosuke) Kuga used to have his locker here.
How in Dante’s Inferno did Kohinata get the measurements of Takeru already?!
I checked up kabaddi last time, but eh, I’ll do it again.
I still think Fujiwara’s leg thing is creepy.
I dunno anything about Sun Tzu…but…lessee here. This quote is it, I think.
Who was the Relationer in the previous Stride Club?
What’s with the cat on the poster?!
“…is really hot…” – Is that what sets the shippers off? Or is that just a subbers’ choice of words?
They always blab aout weird things on the next ep preview. At least it’s not boring.
For some reason, my ad blocker isn’t working on AnimeLab any more…*sighs*

Happy New Years from Rashōmon and Akutagawa!
I’m in love with Harukawa35′s new Official Art. Rashōmon with his Hamaya (Demon Breaking Arrow) nomming it to assert dominance!
