damn... so i really didn't prepare to have people actually asking for my unpopular opinions...

i guess if we're talking jrwi then i could talk for ages about how kian is treated in the fandom (and most of it is me being biased lmao), but i've done that already...

well since we seem to be talking about the redesigns, i really like jay's redesign. i mean aesthetically it's not my favorite but that's just personal preference. what i mean is that it makes sense thematically. it makes sense for jay, who grew up being a navy trainee and a bartender/waitress, to branch off and do her own thing. it makes sense for her to want to abandon the spartan look she had and delve into the complete opposite, even if it's just for a little while. it makes sense that it's impractical because jay grew up with nothing but practicality. and now she gets to make the stupid decision of wearing jewelry into battle! and yes it's a really really stupid decision, but it's hers and that's what matters!

one thing that i do think is important though, is that she goes back to something more simple, more practical. because it's fun trying out something new and different, that's part of growing up, but in the end that's not who she is.

Hello!

Putting this out as my birthday is in a few days, specifically August 3rd!

I don’t expect much to come from this, and I hate that I’ve gotten to this point, but I’ll be real with you all, I am trans, queer, disabled man who is currently unemployed due to these things! (Not that I haven’t tried, I’ve applied to well over 30 jobs in my area, but have not gotten anything back despite my efforts.) I have no stable income, and am currently relying on my partner to pay for my meds that aren’t covered by my insurance. What I’m looking to get is a pair of forearm crutches, a new tens unit, and more knee braces and sleeves to help deal with chronic pain/ehlers-danlos, as money right now is tight, and my condition is getting worse, to the point where my current cane isnt cutting it. Dropping an Amazon list that has some of those things, plus some others that would just be nice to have, as well as other ways for monetary donations. I can’t do much, but if it helps, I can make things like custom playlists, mood boards, and I can attempt to draw again. I also make things like patches and recycled bottle tab bracelets, but those will be a bit harder to get out as I don’t have money to cover shipping even. Also if you’d like more information about me or my situation, feel free to dm this blog or my main blog @mostlyvoidpartiallystars1312 , or even if it’s just to talk tbh- If you can donate/get stuff from the list then wonderful! Update: added a few things to the list, and put explanations and priority levels for them. The current highest priorities are the forearm crutches (plus padding and a small bag for them), the knee sleeves and braces, a fan (as we have no AC, and only one small table top fan, the heat is starting to take a toll), and the tens unit. Other things on the list include clothes and binders, reading material, and just some other fun things, those again aren’t medical priorities, but they are nice to have and it would be nice to get some, but only after the high priority items have been taken care of! Thank you all once more.

(I’ll probably reorganize this later, I’m just trying to get this out there and circulating hopefully. Today has been a rough day with the heat considering we have no AC and it’s a bit tough to get my thoughts together. Honestly might even delete it later, because of how awkward this feels. My apologies.)

when gillion is thinking too much, but too beat up or tired to train, he pulls out a pen/pencil/piece of coal and some paper and starts sketching whatever comes to mind. often that would be his crewmates, even more frequently it would be pretzel, since she's right there to look at for reference. she's so over the moon whenever he draws her.

💔 - angsty headcanon:

he doesn't draw anymore. not since the dunjon. he needs to train more, and when he's too tired he'll push further anyways. he feels guilty if he lets himself indulge in something so simple and fun when he just put his friends in so much danger by not being good enough. he doesn't want a repeat. and so he barely touches his art materials anymore and pretzel sometimes looks longingly at the paper, wishing that her friend would draw her again, if not for himself then at least for her.

🔔 - unpopular opinion:

i don't know if this is the aroace in me speaking but i've never seen gillion's interactions with john or caspian as particularly romantic. the shipping doesn't bother me (in fact sometimes i think it's really funny and/or cool) but i just don't really get it.
