"touya, are you my dad?"
rei's house is quiet this late, only alive in the muted whir of ceiling fans and the rainbow of colors from the nightlight out in the hall. touya can just barely see the distant glow peeking under the gap of the door; soft greens and blues and purples.
all the air in the room seems to evaporate, and instead is replaced by that awful, muggy heat that builds up in touya's hairline and in the creases of his skin, everytime he hears that word: dad.
he's better at knowing how to act around kids than he expected to be. not in some parental sense, but the bits and pieces of touya the big brother are at work again, slow and old and creaking—but moving nonetheless.
touya's thankful for the quiet; whispering hides the tremor in his voice. when he turns to the little girl in the small bed lying beside him, all he sees is you, staring back in red and orange and yellow.
"what makes you ask that?"
the little girl shrugs, shuffles around to push still-wet hair out of her face as she snuggles deeper into her blankets. touya doesn't realize he's holding his breath until she finally elaborates, clutching her little stuffed puppy to her round, full cheeks. "that's what people say."
it's not that you don't want her to know, but softening the truth for a kid ain't easy; touya's not even sure he wants her to know, quite yet, because it means introducing a version of himself he's not proud of. one he's never been proud of, one that still itches under his skin and makes his hands shake, one that wants to burn the guilt away instead of face it.
touya watches the soft blink of her eyelashes, long and dark, and when she looks back up at him, he's just—not ready for her to know him yet. because—
"would it be okay if i was?"
the little girl—his, yours—thinks for only a moment before nodding. "yeah, that'd be okay."
because this touya's okay, for now.
it makes him smile, even with the uncomfortable heat that's broken sweat all out across his body, even with the shame that's waiting for him out beyond the edges of the greens and blues and purples. even knowing that, one day soon, he's gonna have to break her heart the same way he broke yours.
touya shifts a little further down in the bed until his head's resting on her pillow, so they're eye level. he's half hanging off the thing, the tiny twin bed in her room at his mom's house. still doesn't have a place of his own yet, still trying to remember how to be a functioning member of society; gears slow and old and creaking, but moving nonetheless.
the is the only way he gets to see her right now, these few days out of the week that you let her stay the night, so he can get to know the daughter he's missed out on for far too long.
touya hums and forces a big yawn, closes his eyes and hopes she'll follow the act; shouto used to, once long ago. "'s'talk about it tomorrow, okay?"
the little girl shuffles around until she's a little closer, huffing against his face through her own yawn. "okay," she agrees, and touya waits a few minutes before peeking at her. watching her even breathing, in the red and orange and yellow.

Set in the same theme as this
A little side note: Touya, from my research, means 'arrow of light' so I wanted his son's name to have a similar theme so Tadaaki means 'bright light'.
Tumblr media
Daddy!Dabi, sorry Touya, who keeps having random toys delivered to your house. You're sure the driver knows your name by now since you're getting a parcel every day and to make it worse the little demon child seems more interest in the box and wrapping paper than the actual gift inside the damn thing.
"Tadaaki, I swear to God."
You sat on the floor next to him as he tried to ingest yet another piece of paper from the floor, wrestling the small sodden pieces from his hand and replaced it with his dummy even as he screwed up his face in frustration.
"Just let him eat it."
Shaking your head in exasperation, you turned to the window and glared at Touya. The grin on his face as he crouched on the window ledge made you even more frustrated so you threw some paper at his stupid head.
"Very helpful, thank you."
A snort as he jumped down, the thud as his boots hit the floor before he quickly removed them and replaced them with the slippers you chose for him. They were huge Smurf feet, something you would tease him with when you were together, and when you saw them in the local shop you just had to get them.
A loud squeal as Tadaaki stood up and toddled over to his dad, Touya was still a little hesitant as the little hands held on his larger ones. You could see the gloves he was wearing, something you noticed after you met in the park and assumed it was to protect Tadaaki from the staples. A louder squeal this time as Touya hefted him up in the air, the dummy landing on the floor as your son flew up in the air.
"You know, he just ate. If he-"
"Oh shit!"
"-pukes it'll be your own fault."
You couldn't help but laugh out loud this time, your son looking awfully chuffed with himself as his dad looked like he was about to throw up himself. Holding Tadaaki at arms length, his face turned away as he thrust him out to you and pulled the jacket and t-shirt he was wearing off and wiping himself down with some baby wipes while mock glaring at you.
"You can stop laughing, brat. I learnt my lesson."

Brother Dabi with a reader that cowers, whimpers, cries, ect, ect whenever he touches her or raises his voice. Sadly he’s confused as to why she’s like that and just makes it worse (if you feel like adding comfort in the end that’s 100% up to you, I’m happy with whatever)

Tumblr media
Touya doesn’t understand why you’re so scared of him. Sure, he teases you like a big brother does. Sometimes, he can be a little rough while playing around with you. But all in all, he can’t fathom why you’re deathly terrified of him all of a sudden.
He has to get to the bottom of this.
When you come home from school, he decides to turn off the television and confront you.
You notice the heavy clunk of his combat boots drawing closer and closer. You take off for the stairs, but he cuts you off, standing right in front of them before you can even get to the landing.
“You and me are gonna have a talk.”
He grabs you by your elbow and drags you up to his room. He shuts the door behind him, locking it, trapping you.
When he turns back to face you, there are tears blurring your vision, your fists are clenched, and you’re trembling like a leaf in the wind. Seeing you like this when he hasn’t even done anything makes his heart clench with anger, but he forces himself to calm down. Taking a deep breath and counting to five in his head, he points at the bed for you to sit down.
“Go on. Sit. I want to talk to you.”
“Touya…please, I just want to go to my room.”
“And I want to know why you act like this when you’re around me.”
Taking a seat on his flannel sheets, you notice that he stays by the door with his hands shoved in his pockets. You aren’t sure if he’s trying to come off as non threatening or if he’s trying to show you that you won’t be able to run away from him by blocking your only exit.
“Good girl. Now, can you tell me what’s going on?”
It’s not that you hate Touya. You’ve loved him all your life. Sure, he can be rough with you at times, but he’s always been your warrior, your protector.
Recently, after a pretty horrible beating from your father while Touya was away with work, you just can’t look into his eyes and not see Enji. He shares those same electric cerulean orbs with your father. Your dad’s flames can reach the same cobalt hue as your brother’s quirk, and that thought is also unsettling.
But you know Touya isn’t like your father, but you can’t help but see him in your brother! It’s confusing, and it leaves your head and heart aching.
The tears finally flow over your lower lids, and you break down. Elbows resting on knees while your hands rake through vibrant, scarlet locks. Your father would scold you and tell you to sit like a lady, but Touya doesn’t say anything. Touya only stands there, shifting on his feet. You can tell he’s debating whether to give you space or solace.
“Hey, what’s going on? Y/N, I don’t understand-“
“Fucking shut up! Just stop talking!” You blow up at him. Looking into his wide eyes, you point a finger at him. “What would you have done if I didn’t want to come in here with you?!”
That question is rather unexpected. He doesn’t like the tone his baby sister is taking with him, but now isn’t the time for scolding. He doesn’t want to fuck this up.
“I would’ve just picked you up,” he admits. It’s what he usually does. All he has to do is sling you over a shoulder and carry you off to wherever he wants you to be.
“Exactly! You’d just pick me up. Just do whatever the hell you want with me. Just like Dad.”
And that, THAT, causes him to snap. He stands up straight, hands out of his pockets, and he stomps over to you.
“You think I’m just like that monster? Is that what you believe?”
It’s not…but isn’t it? Isn’t that what all this has been about?
“Well?” He’s calm but firm.
“Why do you two have to have the same eye color? Ever since he beat me and you came back, it’s all I can think about. I hate it! I hate that looking at you reminds me of what he did to me!”
And now he understands but it’s something that he doesn’t know how to fix.
Touya releases a pent up breath, his fingers combing through his mass of black hair. “Jesus, kid, what did he do to you?” he asks while taking a seat next to you on the bed.
You really don’t want to relive that night, the night a few days before he came back from a work trip. It’s just too painful.
Maybe it will help to vent though. Touya’s always been a great listener.
“He grabbed me by my hair and pulled me to his room. He slapped me and took his belt to me. I tried to get away. It only made him angrier. It was even worse when he told me you wouldn’t be there to come to my rescue. It was like he was taunting me.”
Hesitantly, he places a hand on your back, watching for a reaction. When you don’t try to pull away, he wraps an arm around you, letting you cry on his shoulder. You clutch his shirt.
“I’m sorry! I was just scared!”
“I know. I get it. Dad can be…Dad. I’ll never treat you like that, and you better get that through your thick skull.”
“I don’t have a thick skull,” you pout.
Touya snorts. “Yeah, you do. We all do. Even Shoto has a thick skull. Damn near can’t get anything through to him.”
This causes you to giggle at the thought of your socially awkward older brother.
You sit and talk with Touya-Nii a little while longer until he sends you off so that he can have a chat with Enji.
Said chat may or may not include Touya beating the living shit out of his father until he can barely stand or breathe.

How do you think Touya will be saved? What could, possibly, stop him? What Endeavor or Shouto should say/do? I believe he'll be saved, and I also believe he won't die(not judging looks btw lol). The point is, I want to know your theories of how Touya will be saved since you seem to know a lot of the Todoroki plotline and I may be missing something perhaps!?
I think the key is in this phrase that Tsukauchi says:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So what is Touya's origin?
I think at the core of it, it's his love for his family and his yearning for his father's love.
If you look at the Touya - Shouto foiling, the Todoroki family themes are laid out:
Touya wanting a reason for existing vs Shouto knowing it's up to him to decide the reason
Touya believing that his death changed nothing vs Shouto's belief that people can change from the smallest thing
Touya thinking that the family left him behind vs Shouto's refusal to move on without his family
Touya's desire to be seen vs Shouto's eyes being opened beyond his previous tunnel vision
Touya's "we turned out to be real different" and will always be "parallel tracks" vs Shouto's "he is me" and "we will mingle"
So I think Touya will be saved (I'm talking about the emotional level) by Endeavor and Shouto addressing these needs.
I feel like Endeavor could start with an apology and telling Touya that he was always loved.
But I think Touya will need proof - that the family changed, that they didn't just forget him.
And I think Shouto could help him reconnect with his original wants. There must be a reason why it was only Shouto who heard the Dabi origin story, and not Endeavor. Shouto knows that Touya wanted to go home, that he wanted to apologize to his mom and dad, that he's been driven by the same desire to see the family changed that I think everyone in the Todoroki family wants.
Shouto also watched him and sees now that Touya didn't only inherit Endeavor's flaws and obsession, but also his tenacity. So someone putting his quirk in the positive light as something that he can choose to use to "affirm his own reason to exist" would be an important part of the process.
I'm still thinking that there will be an attack on the evacuees, and that we will get a full Todoroki family reunion and that's where Touya will truly find his origin. See his family embrace him and I think in return he will step up to protect the evacuees together with Shouto and Endeavor.
I don't know how he will be saved physically, but I see no reason not to save him together with Toga, Tomura and the rest of the villains.

I think what many people don’t realize with the Dabi vs Shouto fight is that it’s not actually a brother vs brother fight.
Biologically yes. They have the same parents.
But being bothers is more than that. Touya and Shouto Todoroki don’t know each other. They never had the opportunities to form any sibling bond. That’s why they can only see each other but their titles of villain and hero.
mmh, I don't know if I can agree 100% with this reading. On the one hand, it's true that they don't know each other, and that's largely why they don't understand each other's motivations and goals. Like, Touya misinterprets Shouto as someone who's blindly following Endvr's footsteps because Touya wasn't there to see that distancing himself from his father's shadow was a huge part of Shouto's personal journey. And Shouto in turn misinterprets Touya as someone who's blindly using violence and blaming their dad to escape the consequences of his actions because he never saw Touya fight ever since he was a child for Enji to acknowledge his flaws as a father. Thus, he doesn't get that Touya is doing this as a mean to get accountability and justice. So yes, they lack a relationship as brothers that would give them both the right context through which to contextualize the other's actions, and the compassion needed to put themselves in each other's shoes.
But on the other hand, I don't think it's possible to talk about their conflict while subtracting the fact that they're brothers from the equation. Imho you can trace back their respective worldviews, identities and yes, even the way they think of each other back to the theme of family, and the dysfunctional patterns they grew up tangled in (and replicating). There's no Dabi the villain without the role Shouto played as a replacement who "stole" his life, and there's no Shouto The Non-violent Hero without the weaponized memory of his brother used to justify Enji's increased and ruthless abuse over the years. They are both the worst thing that happened to each other because Enji's shitty parenting made them out to be that (though it's not true. In reality they are both just victims who had no active part in the other's suffering). Yet, Shouto's perception of Touya is colored by the family's treatment of his brother and vice versa, because Enji specifically used them as tools to lessen the weight of his own actions.
So for example we see Shouto perpetrating the scapegoating rampant in the house by seeing Touya as "the crime" of the family that needs "stopping",
Tumblr media
and Touya perpetrating the idea of Shouto as the golden child by seeing him as a kind and good-hearted hero who makes Enji proud:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the thing is, both of those views echo their parents' perspective on what their respective roles should be. This is most obvious through Shouto, whom they outright address as the family's little hero:
Tumblr media
But it's also apparent in how they talk about Touya. Enji sees Dabi as a criminal that's the manifestation of his "sins" who "stole so many futures"; Rei sees him as someone on whose behalf to apologize to Hawks, with the implicit idea that Dabi is more wrong for burning him than Hawks is for murdering a man in cold blood. Both see him as the bad sheep of the family as much as they see Shouto as the perfect idealized good kid.
So imho you cannot fully comprehend them as heroes and villains without tracing back their current beliefs and their views of each other to their connection as brothers and children in a fucked up family. They were pitted against each other since basically birth, and I think their current conflict reflects the flaws of their upbringing more than it does the failures of the hero/villain system, though I think the ideas are definitely connected

i saw a little bit about your DID!Dabi headcanon and i want to hear more about it if you’re comfortable with sharing more
I have a couple posts about the headcanon in general on my blog, but this gives me a great opportunity to infodump about my paper bag series and Dabi's system in those fics!!
A lot of what we see in those fics is either Dabi or Touya, but I like to think they have other headmates, just they're mostly doing things internally and don't front a whole lot or they front for other reasons offscreen,
either way Dabi's probably the host (atm) and Touya likely serves as a primary trauma holder.
I've said it before but Touya's probably a little and, like, under 13, if not younger, so he has some more childlike traits, like his speech pattern and vocabulary is childish, he has an oral fixation (nibbling/sucking on his fingers, chewing on fabric etc to self soothe), his mannerisms and body language is smaller, he's more emotionally sensitive, and he's got a much more naive mindset than Dabi does.
People could potentially tell the difference between the two alters if they knew what to look for, but Touya tries to act natural and mask as Dabi outside of the incidents with Tomura. Even then though, the other league members like Spinner can pick up that he's acting strange.
Tomura definitely can tell there's a difference but he either a) doesn't really understand and thinks it's like a kink thing (age play, lg, etc) or b) knows to some degree and is purposely triggering out Touya to take advantage of him.
People who've read it might have already caught onto this, but i like to think Dabi and Touya have very different opinions about Shigaraki and their relationship as well as their relationship with their Dad.
Ie. Dabi is really only in the relationship with Shigaraki as a kind of "means to an end" thing, and feels kinda backed into a corner. He doesn't hate Shig or hate being with him, really, it's just he feels he kinda has to in order to stay in the league (which is probably a trauma response, feeling like he needs to put out in order to earn his place there, but he doesn't know that shh). He's more or less neutral on their relationship, but gets really fed up with Tomura when he starts his fucky shit.
It's Touya who's, like, in a relationship with Tomura and is kinda head over heels for him. That's mainly bc he's projecting his Dad onto Tomura, even if they don't have much in common they treat him the same way and Touya as an alter has very strong positive feelings for his Dad, so that transfers onto Shigaraki.
Touya really likes Shigaraki, and Tomura kinda takes advantage of that whether or not he understands that Touya is an alter, and an extremely vulnerable one at that, he knows certain actions/words get responses out of Dabi (basically knows that he can trigger out Touya if he does certain things) and he abuses that to get Touya to front.
It kinda parallels the stuff with Enji too, because Dabi has more mixed feelings about Enji and is more revenge driven- he loves his Dad but also wants him to suffer, and he doesn't understand the gravity of the abuse he suffered but he feels negatively about it.
Again, Touya is on the opposite side of it. He loves Daddy, and he's heavily groomed so he feels far more positive emotions about the abuse than negative. He misses Enji a lot and he views things through rose tinted glasses. He's also got his own reasons for villainy and wanting to confront his Dad, but he's very much on the "look at me" side and really just wants Daddy to pay attention to him again.
Dabi's the one with the crush on Spinner, he just doesn't know it. Touya likes him too but it's more in a "oh he's nice to me :(" way. Dabis projecting/blaming the crush on Touya, but no, it's him.
Despite all the dark themes i really wanna do a fic in the series where Spinner's acting as a caregiver for Touya. It would be cute. He's just a little guy.

noooo, because you're sitting with touya's daughter one day after school, coloring in your classroom to pass the time since he called earlier to tell you he was running a teeny bit late, and out of the blue she says,
"my dad calls you my pretty teacher."
and — you've met him a few times, enough to no longer be intimidated by the aura he wears so well, with the tattoos down his arms and up his neck, the piercings in both ears and each nostril. you learned very quickly that he's a softie, under the exterior, especially for the little girl sitting across from you.
you feel your cheeks warm, but you try not to draw attention to it. "oh, does he now?"
"yeah," she says simply, scratching at her chin before picking out another color for the box between you. "he also asked me if there was a mr. pretty teacher, but i told him i didn't think so because nobody brings you flowers ever."
and — your cheeks heat again, but now because you can't believe the little kids in your class have noticed how single you are. you're a bit stumped on what to say to that, especially when the room door swings open and touya is stepping in, a little out of breath, a red-haired boy sitting on his shoulders,
— with a very small, ribbon-tied bouquet of sunflowers in his tiny hands.

what i like writing:
→ fluff lol
→ established relationships!
→ au’s i generally love: celebrity au (musician/actor/band/etc.), any kind of profession au in general, dance au, smau, college au, …
→ more fandom specific stuf: for touya i love writing soft/domestic aus, dad!touya, todofam stuff (are u sensing a theme?). but dw i also love dabi and his craziness
→ for eddie i love cheerleader/popular!readers, hopper!readers (nonbio if that’s ur preference), rockstar!eddie, opposites attract trope, etc. harrington!reader (again nonbio) has also been doing it for me lately as well.
→ for spencer lol i absolutely adore secret relationships, nonbau!reader, or anything to do with my ex-dealer!spencer hc i will one day get around to posting
→ as for toji i dont usually writer for him (read:i’ve never written for him) so i have no idea what i prefer or not. i like reading teacher!readers and fics with baby gumi tho
→ i alr said this kind of but i acc don’t mind baby fics
Tumblr media
what i don't like writing:
→ i usually don’t love writing rq’s for hyperspecific readers (unless it was prev mentioned up top like cheerleader!reader). i just usually like to make my reader inserts feel like me (lol) so going out of that kind of feels not very fun.
→ going off of that no no no damsels in distress as readers. no pathetic or loserish readers in gen. that’s not me bro!
→ not a huge fan of engagements/weddings/wedding night type stuff. post-wedding marriage is perfectly fine but i’m just not into weddings lol
→ break-ups/most character death. i’m okay with breaking up if it has a generally cathartic ending and isn’t super toxic lol. character death is fine if it is used for the plot but NEVER an mc for a shipfic or reader insert! that’s too depressing for me!

Reaching into the Fire
Tag List: @issamomma @repostingmyfavs @chickennugnugnug
Warnings: Platonic yandere themes, brutal spanking/beating, child abuse, wounded reader, slight manipulation, Enji is an asshole, kidnapping, ass kicking threats (towards you), death threats (towards someone else)
Summary: What happens when Touya-nii comes home to find you a mess after a severe punishment from your father?
NOTES: Reader is thirteen years old. Reader has red hair. Like other works of mine concerning Platonic Yandere Dabi, he is in the LOV and living with his dad and siblings. Idfk, don’t come at me with plot holes.
Master List here.
—————————————————————————
Tumblr media
Looking out the window, you don’t understand. What’s taking him so long to get back? Touya should be home by now. He should have been home two hours ago.
“Get your elbows off the table, and eat your food, Y/N,” your father, Enji, Endeavor, orders you in a nasty snarl.
As if you’re not eating because you’re an ungrateful brat.
As if you’re not eating to spite him in some horrible way.
After all I’ve done for you! You can hear his distant voice ringing in your head like an explosion that has almost just settled but not quite.
You glare at your redheaded father with a dark and deep stare that’s too young for thirteen years old.
“Don’t look at me like that, and I won’t tell you again. Do as I say and eat.”
“Where’s Touya-nii?”
It’s all you ever say to him when he’s not here to act as your savior, the buffer between your hot head and your hot headed father.
Your fiery red hair isn’t the only thing you inherited from him.
Your father curses your disobedience, slamming his hand down on the table.
“That’s it, young lady! Either eat or go to your room.”
“Touya-nii would never talk to me like this!”
That’s not exactly true. There are many occasions where he, himself, drifts from his cool nature and is overcome with anger from some of your “dumbass antics” as he calls them.
He’ll hug you with a fierce possessiveness after he calms down and reverts to his level headedness. He’ll tell you that he’s just looking out for you, tells you that he needs you to understand just how precious you are to him. He tells you you’re his baby sister, and he’ll always be here to protect you.
You never heard a semblance of something like that come from your father’s mouth.
Not that it matters. No, you’ve given up on that long ago.
Your father, in all of his mighty glory as the patriarch of the Todoroki household, slams both his hands on the table and stands up. He towers over you like a massive boulder. It’s unsettling.
“Well, Touya’s not your father!”
You’re in dangerous territory.
“I fucking wish he was…”
And his quirk intensifies. He grabs you by the collar of your school shirt, roughly yanking you out of your seat.
Shoto looks shocked, Fuyumi looks like she’s about to say something, and Natsuo puts a hand on both of his siblings’ arms to keep them in their seats.
He knows that if someone does something against their father, then the entire house might burn down with everyone in it.
You feel your father’s flames lick the backs of your bare ankles as you traverse the stairs with him holding onto you firmly. You don’t wince, you don’t struggle, you’re used to this by now.
The door to your room busts open, oh so close to being torn off of its hinges. A knee jabs right into your stomach as you find yourself face down over his bulky thigh, just a giant mass of muscle.
“You’re so ungrateful.”
He spanks you hard with his flat palm.
“After everything I do for you!”
Your poor skin isn’t even kept safe from his hellflames. The fire scorches your bottom in ways you’ve never felt before. His quirk extending, amplifying with his brute anger.
You are what he chooses to release his frustrations upon this time.
How utterly fucking convenient.
You scream into your sheets, kicking your legs wildly.
You hear movement from above you, but you’re in so much pain that you think one slight shift might cause your ass to slide off of your body.
No, you would like very much for your poor butt to remain intact.
And then something even worse is hitting your backside in an angry barrage, and this time, oh this time you have to look — ass sliding off be damned.
It’s a leather belt. Well, that’s new. You’ve never had that before.
Touya-nii always fought for you over this, telling his father that you’re too damn young for the belt.
“If she’s old enough to mouth off, then she’s old enough to accept the consequences!” Your father had shouted right back in Touya’s scarred face.
Your father, up until now, never used the belt on you though, even after all of those arguments with your big brother.
Guess you went too far tonight.
“You act grown, so take it like a big girl if that’s how you want to behave!”
And the belt stings, stings more than you could ever imagine, causes throbbing and aching deep in your muscles, causes the tears already streaming down your cheeks to flow like rapid waters.
You ball your fists up, punching your mattress, pushing at your father’s knee with a weak grip. There’s nothing you can do to escape as he holds you down with one massive paw on the middle of your back.
You wheeze with the cracks in your heart growing deeper, growing wider. The hitched wail tumbling forth from your lungs like a desperate plea for a love reprieve that you know you’ll never get.
And then he’s standing up, letting you fall to the floor with a loud thud. And then he’s putting his belt back on, glaring down at you like a mighty warrior who has just defeated a rebel army. And then he’s leaving you all alone without a word.
And you ball your hands up, cross your arms on the wooden floor, and sob inconsolably.
———
It’s late at night having just woken up from a terrible dream on the floor of your bedroom. It takes so long to move to the banister, down the steps, into the kitchen. You can’t even be bothered to turn the light on. Takes so much for your muscles to drag a chair over to the giant refrigerator. You wish you were tall, something Touya-nii and Natsuo inherited from their father, one of the rare good qualities.
All of a sudden, a lanky arm wraps around your waist, and you cry out, not from surprise, but from the contact of your ass against someone’s front.
When you’re set down on your feet in the kitchen, you turn around and look up at Touya with watery eyes.
“Whatchya lookin’ for, squirt?” He ask absentmindedly as he rummages through the freezer for some microwave dinner to heat up.
You gulp down an onslaught of emotions trying to purge before you find composure.
“Ice.”
“Ah, woke up thirsty, huh? You get like that after having a bad dream. What? Was I chasing you around? Trying to tickle you until you piss yourself?” He snickers at his own version of a joke.
You rub your arms. “Something like that.”
Touya puts the ice in a glass for you, setting his microwaveable dinner aside on the counter so that he can take care of you first.
He moves to fill the glass with water, but you stop him.
“Wait, you don’t need to do that. You can just leave it as it is. I only wanted ice.”
You can’t manage eye contact. His eyes are too…intense. Too blue. That bright electric blue that cuts through you, can always tell when something’s wrong.
You don’t want him to find something wrong.
You don’t want something to be wrong.
Everything is okay now that the beating is over.
Ice. You just need ice. Ice and a goodnight hug from Touya will fix everything.
It always does.
But he grabs your chin and forces you to look at him, forces you to look into his vibrant cobalt eyes that cut through you like a knife dicing fruit.
Slices through you like it’s nothing.
Like you’re soft.
And maybe you are soft, too soft for your own good.
“What happened?” He shakes your jaw gently in his grasp.
And he sees them, sees the tears welling up in your eyes like a geyser by the light of the full moon shining in through the kitchen window.
And you see something gnarling, brewing, melting together behind that intense gaze of his, the only kind your big brother can carry. It screams danger and rage.
But you don’t want to say what’s wrong because nothing is supposed to be wrong. Everything is supposed to be okay.
Ice and a hug will make everything okay, but it’s never that easy for some reason.
Touya knows how to pull answers from you, even if it’s like pulling teeth. He always gets what he wants because he’s stubborn, just like you, just like your father.
“I…” You shake your head and advert your eyes, trying to pry his hand off of you.
But he’s your big brother, and your big brother is determined to know what’s bothering you. Deep down, you know you should just answer him, but you don’t want to. You want to rebel and get away with it!
When do you ever?
Why can’t things just be different sometimes?
“What. Happened?” Is his steady reply, putting emphasis on each word, slowly drawing it out between gnashed teeth.
And his eyes, those eyes filled with storms of his own, look at you like he NEEDS to know what’s causing yours to fill with tears so that he can destroy them.
“Dad-”
It’s all you had to say. He turns the light on, and then he’s yanking at your school uniform, trying to find the marks, trying to find anything that will cement even further just how much of a fucking monster, fucking piece of shit asshole their father is.
You don’t like having your sleeves all but torn off of you. And then he’s looking at your legs, lifting them hem of your skirt in a way you don’t like, trying to push it back down in place.
He doesn’t care. He needs to know where you’ve been hurt, needs to know so he can make it better. Not anyone else. Only he gets to make things better for you.
You hope that what you say next might make him stop shoving at your clothes, but you’re so wrong.
“Touya-nii! Stop it! He spanked me!” You snivel into your hands.
You’re spun around, the back of your skirt lifted up to the small of your back, pinned there by a warm hand that you can feel through your untucked shirt. There’s a heavy whimper caught in your throat as he digs one finger into the waistband of your panties and drags them all the way down to the middle of your thighs.
And it’s all over for him.
The welts. The bruises. The scorch marks. The blisters. The blood smeared across the curve of your bottom.
You don’t like it. You knew this would happen. This makes things feel not okay!
You know Touya-nii is probably so worried.
You never want him to be worried because he’s so good to you, the best sibling you could ever hope for.
But the longer he stands there looking at your beaten and raw ass, the more he stands there in complete silence, that’s how you really know things aren’t okay.
You step out of his hold, his grip on your shirt lax enough for you to wriggle out of. You right your underwear and adjust your skirt before turning to look at him with your arms crossed.
“That…that was not from a spanking. What the fuck did he do to you, baby?”
He pulls you into a tight hug, and this is exactly what you wanted — no, needed.
“I think he was so mad that his fire got on me, and he used his belt at the end.” You press your cheek against his chest.
There’s that silence again. A full five heartbeats go by where nothing is said. It doesn’t bother you. You don’t really want to talk about it anymore. Just want to be held by Touya-nii, the best big brother you could ever ask for, hope for, pray for.
Someone out there knew what you needed.
His arms around you are tighter, and you can tell he’s thinking…planning. Planning what, you don’t know.
“Everything will be alright. Your big brother is right here. He’s got you, baby.”
Baby. That’s right. You’re his baby. His baby sister who can do no wrong in his eyes. He knows when to stop being mean and coddle you, and right now is a time where you most definitely need his warmth instead of the venom laced through his teasing words.
———
All you know is that you’re too sore to be riding on a train, too damn sore to be walking around, too damn tired for whatever journey your big brother is taking you on.
And then you arrive at a rundown bar, and he’s taking you down the steps. The staircase seems like it goes on forever. You pass a lot of doors, walk even further and further down the hall until he stops and opens one.
The room is…dank to say the least. Rundown is a better description.
But so are you, right? Who are you to judge this room? It feels like a reflection of your insides.
Big brother Touya, with his hand still wrapped around your wrist, tugs you into the room and over to the bed where he has you lie down so that you can go to sleep.
You don’t at first. The place is entirely new. You don’t even really understand what this place is.
“Touya-nii, where are we? Why did you bring me here?”
He shakes his mass of black hair at you, sighing in his early twenty years. You understand the depth of which that sigh is coming from.
You sigh just like Touya-nii too.
“Go to sleep,” is all he says as he unties your black shoes, pulling them off of your feet. He lets them drop to the floor, and you cringe at the sound of the dull thud.
The fall from your father’s lap is too fresh in your memory.
“But, I wanna know-“
You don’t get the chance to finish your sentence. He’s already tucking the blanket in around you and pushing your face down against the scratchy pillow.
Huffing with the manhandling, you try to push his rough hands away.
“Okay, I’ll go to sleep, but you better answer my questions in the morning.”
“You’re my good girl, you know that?” His fingers brush your fiery red hair behind your ear. “I’m proud of you. I know you were real tired tonight, but you listened to me. You did everything I asked you to do without complaining or fighting me.”
Your cheeks blush. Of course you’re Touya’s good girl! You’d never deliberately disobey him. All you want is his praise, and here he is, offering it to you on a golden platter.
You take it with a hungry appetite.
He presses a kiss against your forehead and lies down next to you.
You know he runs warm, hot even, but you can’t help but feel bad for hogging the blanket.
“Move your fat ass, Touya-nii,” you tell him as you try to pull the blanket out from under him.
He huffs and flicks your cheek before acquiescing. He turns over only slightly, deciding to make things a bit easier but not entirely, still trying to make you work for the blanket even with a bit of his weight taken off.
He can’t help it. He’s still your big brother after all.
You grumble and puff, but you’re too stubborn to give in. It takes all of your effort just to gracelessly pull the blanket out from underneath your big brother and half hazardly throw it over him before lying down on your stomach.
“God, you’re so annoying, Touya-nii.”
“Why don’t you go cry about it, baby?”
And you smile before drifting off to sleep.
———
“You brought a kid here?!”
Your eyes immediately open. You blink, adjusting to your surroundings, remembering that Touya brought you here last night.
You stand up from the bed, walking closer to the door, pressing your ear up against it.
“Why would you bring a child here?!” The voice sounds like it’s cracking, crazed.
He sounds like he could use some water.
“I had to. There was nowhere else to take her. She won’t be a problem here.”
Touya-nii!
You open the door and step out into the hallway. Your eyes land on several people, all of them strangers. There’s a girl who looks about your age, but most of them are older men.
“Touya-nii, what’s going on?”
Stern. He looks at you with stern eyes and a pointed finger. “Get back in the room and shut the door.”
“But-“
“Listen to me or so help me, I will kick your ass.”
Oh, you know he most definitely will, but he doesn’t mean it in the way your father kicks your ass. No, never. He means he’ll tackle you, wrestle you, pinch you, maybe ground you to your room for a few hours if you piss him off enough. Never the brutal spankings, beatings, of your father. No, Touya-nii would never.
But you’re his good girl. His good baby, so you obediently tuck yourself away in the rundown room.
The conversation moves away from you. It’s obvious because you can’t hear voices outside of the door. You’re forced to lie down on the creaky bed, trying to shut your eyes.
———
It takes what feels like forever and a day for your brother to come back and get you. He sits down beside you, placing a hand on your back.
“So, you wanna know why I brought you here?”
You nod your head as if he just asked you such a stupid question because it is a stupid question.
You asked him that just last night!
“You’ll be staying here with me. This is…where I work, I guess you could say. Dad doesn’t know, and he’s not going to. He won’t be able to find you here. You’ll be safe here.”
“What about school? I left all of my things at the house.”
“You’ll have to forget about your stuff and school. I’m more worried about protecting you than seeing what kind of grades you bring home. I’m not letting him or anyone hurt you ever again. Dad can fucking go to hell. He had no right to do that to you, and I won’t let it happen again.”
“But, Touya! I need to go to school.”
He grabs your chin, forcing you to look into his eyes, determined azure seeping deeply into your soul.
“Fuck school. I don’t give a damn about school. You’re not going anymore and that’s final. This is your new home now. I can’t let you get caught. I won’t let you go back. I’ll keep you safe here.”
A lonely tear drips from your eye, turning into a cascade down both cheeks. “I don’t understand!”
And his palms are on your face, cupping your wet cheeks. His hands both warm and warn. The familiarity of it all trying to overwhelm you.
He’s trying to calm you.
It’s only making things worse.
“You don’t need to understand, baby. Your big brother is here. He’s got you. I’ll always be here to protect you. He’ll never hurt you again because I’m going to keep you safe here with me, and I’m going to kill that fucking bastard.”

Something I’ve seen pretty regularly after ch. 351 is that Shoto still doesn’t fully try to understand Touya because he told him not to hurt people who weren’t involved in their family. That Shoto doesn't understand how Society is partially to blame for their situation. Pretty much the idea is that the story will end with Shoto realizing how the system is bad and contributed to their abuse.
But, I’m not totally convinced if Hori will go that far. It might just be his odd writing choices but from how things have gone so far, I really don’t read Shoto’s reaction as him failing to understand his big brother.
Because here’s the thing; this all is based on the preconceived notion that Touya actually, legitimately cares or understands how the system lead to his abuse, which I don’t quite believe. Sure, in his broadcast he badmouthed Heroes, and told people to think for themselves, but he in no way called out the system and populace for his abuse or really explained how it could lead to more people like him. In the end he just said the Heroes were terrible people and shouldn’t be called Heroes, nothing about how the system and society propped them up. There’s not anything in it about how the Ranking System driving Endeavor nuts, or how people enjoying it and cheering for it only made it worse.
Touya talks a good game, but the end of his broadcast--after he mentions Hawks seems tacked on, like he added it last minute because he saw an opportunity. He even admits this was the case in some way; in the very least the Twice stuff was added on the fly.
This only seems like a more correct interpretation since after that broadcast Dabi hasn’t said anything about other Heroes being shitty, not even to Enji’s sidekicks that were supporting his father. If Touya truly blamed Society you'd think he’d be equally angry at the sidekicks, or in the very least call them out for following his abuser. But he doesn’t care about them--he’s only focused on Enji and Shoto.
The only other thing people bring up is how after the broadcast how the civilians called him annoying while Enji was left as the #1 Hero. That this is the story making commentary on how Society doesn't listen to victims, how Touya was even disappointed.
Now, to me I don’t think these things are given enough weight in the story to use as evidence that this is a major theme of bnha (or at least not in the Touya plotline). It’s one panel and one minor insult (especially given what Touya had done) by some nobody characters. It’s not framed in a particularly interesting way that would make it memorable and show it was important.
As for Enji staying on as #1--that more then makes sense. If the abuse had come out before the war, Enji keeping his job would better establish that he was getting unfair treatment. That his celebrity was effecting the public’s willingness to hold him accountable. As it stands, Japan is on the brink of collapse and Heroes are quitting on mass. Firing Enji (because under Japanese law that’s about all they could do) is just throwing away a limited resource they desperately need.
And it’s not like Enji faces zero backlash. Even when he’s out catching villains he’s constantly harassed and told off. It’s not as if the public is blindly supporting him. They hate him and they make that more then clear. Sure, they don't seem to be angry over his abuse, but the mass destruction and the bodies on the ground caused by his son are far more pressing to them.
Nor does Dabi seem upset that no one’s talking about his abuse. He smiles and says he didn't go far enough after the press conference, but given he wants to leave Enji a mental husk of a person, seeing his dad do anything but cry in a corner would probably get the same reaction. He’s not mad Enji still had his job--he’s mad his dad can still preform the job. Enji’s not mentally and emotionally broken, so he obviously hasn’t done enough to hurt him yet.
To me it just doesn't feel like Shoto is misunderstanding his brother because Touya is actually some dep thinker who knows that domestic violence is perpetuated by corrupt systems and the people who are content to live under those systems. I don't think Touya even understands the role the stupid Ranking System played in Enji’s obsession, let alone how that was created by the government to help Heroes be marketable and trustworthy to the people they served. Touya doesn't have time to think that much--just like Enji he’s to obsessed with his goal that everything else is just a means to an end. If bad mouthing the Heroes hurts Enji he’ll do it, if it doesn’t, he won’t bother.

How was ch. 351?
Being as I am relatively ambivalent about the Todorokis, I don’t have particularly strong feelings about it.  I like the back and forth between the brothers, I especially like Shouto commenting(1) that he’s glad Touya's been paying him any attention, not just their Dad, and I generally like the balance of Shouto acknowledging how desperately fucked up their family situation was while still charging Dabi that the murders he committed were his choice, no one else’s.  (I am not at all on board with the idea that Dabi is mentally a child, or that his trauma means that he’s incapable of exercising agency and is thus entirely blameless for his many, many murders.)
I do have some concerns that this is all still tracking back to the idea of family, of keeping one’s problems in the family, and, well, look how much good “keeping it in the family” did for the Shimuras.  Seeing as I’m most invested in Hero Society growing as a whole, I don’t think, “The Todorokis resolve all of their own problems amongst themselves,” is a particularly good solution to export to the rest of the story.
Of course, it’s not obligated to be, necessarily; every family’s desires and experiences will be different, and it’s not possible to be all things to all people.  Still, from a narrative perspective, I’m curious to know how the Todoroki Drama is going to wind up fitting into the overall tapestry of what Deku will be drawing from as the protagonist as he moves into the climax.
I did like—in a somewhat bitterly ironic way—the flashback to Endeavor and Shouto on the phone.  Mainly because it always seemed to me that Endeavor had probably not made this battle plan himself (it seems to have been mainly concocted by All Might, Hawks and Tsukauchi), and indeed had at least one panel that foreshadowed being fairly unhappy about it, so watching all the people castigate him for “forcing his sons to fight” or “refusing to face Touya yet again” all felt fairly reachy.  So my thought when I read the phone scene, where Endeavor is making explicit attempts to convince Shouto to trade places with him, was, “Hah, I wonder if there’s a single Endeavor hater out there walking back any of that now.  Probably not.”(2)
I have no idea what’s going on with the Phosphor attack, and will appreciate whatever explanation we get on it.  That said, I do very much hope we’ve seen the last of the Todoroki family trauma flashbacks.  I have had enough of them to last me a lifetime; please, Horikoshi, give some of those to literally any other League member.
And finally, I tend to assume that Iida is here, from the Doylist perspective, to intercept Stain in some fashion that will call back to their previous confrontation; if that’s correct, I’m much looking forward to it.  All the same, I do wonder what the in-universe intention was in putting him here.  Dabi wasn’t dragged to that location alone, obviously; there are lots of other villains in AFO’s impromptu army that Iida could be helping with.  Perhaps that’s the idea?  If you don’t have heat resistance, at least be fast enough to avoid the inevitable flames?
That’s about what I’ve got.  Strong material if you’re invested in the characters, but my primary investment in the Todoroki plot is how it contributes to the greater themes and ideas the series wants to explore, so my feelings on 351 boil down to an accepting nod at a well-executed chapter.
Thanks for the ask!
---
1:  I can’t decide on a good snappy one-word descriptor there.  I don’t really like to characterize Shouto or Deku as “sassy,” because I don’t think it fits the general tone of e.g. Deku politely but firmly pushing back against Bakugou calling people “extras” or Shouto’s forceful, hard-edged declarations with their undertone of irony or scorn.  I think Shouto in his original language is meant to come off as ill-mannered when he gets angry, and “sassy” just feels reductive.
2:  I suppose one might say that he could still pull rank and demand the positions be changed, and that failing to do so is “abandoning” his sons to fight the battle he should be taking upon himself.  But to my eye, him trying to force Shouto away from the confrontation Shouto wants and believes is for the best would be nothing but him trying to force himself into a Father Knows Best role that he and Shouto both know he does not deserve, and, in fact, that Shouto has demanded he stop trying to play.

The other thing I disagree with is when you said like Endeavour, Shouto isn't good at reading people and that is false. Shouto is actually very good at reading others.
However reading others isn't an instant thing and it takes a couple of exchanges to be able to do so. Shouto not being able to read Touya right away is understandable because they've only met twice before their fight in Kamino. The first time was back at the camp and had a very short exchange with Touya taking the marble before Shouto and Shouto had no idea who Touya was and the second at Jakku when Touya revealed himself to be Dabi and even though Shouto was in shock he still managed to get some read on Touya but acknowledging how similar they were. But there wasn't enough of an exchange or Shouto being in the right headspace to be able to analyse Touya fully.
Then in their third encounter we see Shouto from the get go get a good read on Touya's abilities. He notices that Touya can rise his heat faster without hesitation and then he notices Touya's drive and intuitive when it comes to fire.
So with these short exchanges Shouto is able to read Touya a bit better each time without anyone telling him anything and I think this shows how good Shouto is at reading others not how bad he is.
I will also disagree about Endeavour he can also be very good at reading others since he read Hawks change in personality very easily in this case it's more choosing not to because he tends to run away from situations he can't handle and he refuses to even look but I think when he does he often can get a good read on others.
Ah sorry about two long asks but I did like your meta but I had to disagree with this.
Contiuing from where we have left!
The other thing I disagree with is when you said like Endeavour, Shouto isn't good at reading people
I can't really find to which sentence you're referring so I'm a bit at loss here, because I can't check if I explained it poorly or if I just mentioned it in passing so, ultimately, it became confusing because I didn't properly explain what I mean so I'll try to explain it now.
Starting with Endeavor because he's simpler.
Endeavor is very good at reading certain things. I wouldn't use the Hawks example because Hawks actually for Hawks own admission was the less subtle as possible and wasn't even sure Endeavor got the message.
Tumblr media
What I consider good examples of Endeavor figuring things out, beyond the fact he's the number 2 and then the number 1 because he always has the highest tally in all Japan of solved cases (and this includes also the period in which All Might was working as a hero) is how, for example, he figured out where to search for Stain, how the Nomu was obsessed, like him, with strenght, how the commission should have been already informed of what Hawks knows and wants him to prepare the students to fight as well. Also, how he noticed that, with the fall of All Might, things are changing.
Those though, are all work related things and Enji, for all his faults, is very, very good at his job.
What he's not very good at is looking at people outside of his job.
He refused to look at Touya, he didn't realize he was driving Rei insane to the point she became dangerous for his children, he ignored Natsuo (and Fuyumi). Even when he wants to atone he fails to see the way to properly connect with them even when they basically spell it out (Shouto told him he wanted to see what kind of dad he could be and Fuyumi made clear she wanted a family).
Enji was so focused in his obsession to surpass All Might, in his rage, he didn't see anything else.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
The whole Todoroki arc put a big emphasis on eyes and on what the character can and can't see, which culminates with Enji being unable to see Dabi was Touya (I'm not saying it was easy to figure it out, I'm just remarking a theme of the story).
I could also mention how it had to be Bakugo the one who helped him to realize allowing Midoriya and All Might to work together was actually a bad idea.
Tumblr media
Enji couldn't pin down Midoriya's personality, which was actually very easy to guess starting from the fight against Shouto at the sport festival in which Midoriya destroyed himself to help Shouto overcome his trauma, never mentioning Midoriya spent time with him during his work study.
He also couldn't figure out All Might's personality despite being obsessed with the man.
Enji could probably be good at reading people if he were to put an effort in it but, as you also remarked, he avoided doing so, which leads him to technically be bad at doing so in many circumstances.
Enters Shouto.
Shouto's situation is very different from Enji because Shouto is evolving, he's changing, he's trying to grow better.
Shouto too, like his father, has some good potential, he notices for example the connection between Midoriya and All Might... but like his father at first he was more focused on his own anger.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He completely forgets about his meeting with Inasa, even if he realized he should have remembered it and, during the provisional licence exam, at first he waves Inasa off as merely an Endeavor's hater and then loses sight of what they were meant to do during the exam as he and Inasa start to get in the way of one another.
Tumblr media
Similar to Enji, he failed to see Inasa because he decided not to look at him.
What's great in Shouto is, again, not that he's perfect but that, when he realizes his flaws, he takes steps to correct them (this is also a story about growing up so, of course, Shouto can't be perfect from the start but has to improve through the story).
The story implies Shouto, before entering U.A. didn't get to socialize much... so now Shouto decides to do his best to socialize and get friends with others, to understand them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This bit can also be summarized as Shouto trying his best to learn to 'see' others, as in 'to understand them'.
So back to Shouto and Touya.
In his first interactions with Touya, Shouto didn't truly look at his brother, he just assumed things about him and believed he understood him due to them.
I generally focus more on the interactions they had after Touya revealed his identity but the one they had during the training camp was meaningful too because many remarked how, in Japanese, that sentence gave a very familiar vibe and it would have been very odd for Dabi to speak like that to Shouto if he weren't familiar with him (and the same goes for Enji when they met up after the Nomu fight).
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Dabi was dropping hints. The readers caught up with them, but neither Shouto nor Enji did.
I'm not saying it's a capital sin, just a hint they aren't very good at looking at others, at catching signs when they don't want to look at them.
The narrative after all need Shouto not to understand Touya right off the bat, because this is meant to be a slow process for all the heroes (see Ochako and Midoriya).
So, in a way we agree on how Shouto needed time (along with the will) to get a reading on Touya.
The point in which we differ is that, for me, someone whom I can call good at reading others in a story, is someone who can do it fast, intuitively. Midoriya for example is often very, very fast at reading others, be their battle strategy and abilities or what's in their heart (he understand, despite all the circumstances, that Shigaraki needed saving).
Shouto has potential and he's putting a lot of effort in this.
It makes me like Shouto more because I'm interested in his journey to improve, to become even better because all the characters are improving, they're growing, they're not static in the story.
So for me again, Shouto is great not because he was good from the start, but because he's becoming good, because he's putting effort in this and, I'm sure, by the end of the day, he'll understand his brother, not merely as a fighter but as a person.
He might very well be the first Todoroki to do so even though he's the one who technically know him the least since his interactions with him were so few and in such heavy circumstances.
Said all this, it's fine if you still feel like disagreeing. This is only my personal interpretation, I'm not Horikoshi and I don't know the truth of the characters.
Again thank you for wanting to share your opinion, being very civil about it and allowing me to talk about one of my fave characters!

‼️‼️INCOMING BNHA FIC ‼️‼️
THE FIRST 6 CHAPTERS OF ‘NEVERMORE’ ARE NOW LIVE :)))
Read it on AO3 @ prettygay67
Nevermore.
‘No one said life would be easy. It’s hard, depressing, and downright terrible. Anyone that tells you otherwise is a fool, a charlatan, a fake. Equality can never be earned, so you might as well give up and spare yourself the tears and heartache before it’s too late.’ - Izuku Midoriya, age 13.
His mother dying was hard, dealing with the abuse that came after was even harder. Some choice words from an old friend and a run in with the number one hero ends with an accidental quirk discovery, and UA is a lot easier to break into than one would have thought.
Luckily for him, a case of ‘mistaken’ identity makes everything better.
Warnings: depictions of abuse, bullying, suicude baiting, suicide, Murder, mature themes, rape on a minor, explicit language, gore, violence. Possible Dead Dove Do Not Eat.
Additional tags: Allmight is a shitty hero, Vigilante Dabi, the Todoroki brothers have a good relationship, Dabi and Shoto act like Izuku’s brothers. Parental Aizawa, Nezu knows everything, Izuku is a sassy little shit, chaos gremlins, Immortal Izuku, Izuku’s quirk is OP bc it’s literally death, Izuku is technically god, Allmight slander, Katsuki redemption arc at some point, Aizawa adopts the chaos siblings [Izuku, Shoto, Touya, and Toga], AFO is Izuku’s bio dad, Shiggy is his bio brother, Izuku is collecting villains like they’re Pokémon, i am collecting tropes like they’re Pokémon, sue me, you can’t stop me.
