Why did you decide to write for Tumblr? 

I always love writing so I wanted to share my creations and see how they fare in the world instead of keeping them for myself.

Do you write fluff/angst/crack/general/smut, combo, etc? Why? 

I mostly write platonic relationships, fluff, slice of life, romance, comfort and a lot of AUs. It’s what I’m comfortable with and thrive in best! I do enjoy writing mystery, crime/murder and angst once in a while. Gotta let the dark side out too.

Do you write OCs, X Readers, Ships...etc? 

Usually, it’s either member centric and or ‘X reader/ + Reader’, it’s not always romance when reader insert is involved :)

What genres/AUs do you enjoy writing the most? 

Definitely friendship and slice of life! AU wise, I’m a sucker for the supernatural side: demons, angels, mythical creatures and mythology, they are all right up my alley. I also enjoyed writing crime AU and anything dark, nothing like unleashing the inner criminal legally through words… and occasionally being questioned, “What’s going on in that head of yours?”

What tropes do you love, and what tropes can’t you stand? 

Tropes I love, I’m a sucker for friendship/platonic, slow-burn enemies to lovers, the cafe/bar occupation, single parent, the demon is suddenly your guardian angel, the breakup and the crime syndicate dynamics. Tropes I can’t stand on the other hand aren’t much, I don't actively read a/b/o dynamics, Hogwarts, hybrids and werewolf/vampire. It’s mostly AUs now that I listed them.

What is your favorite work and why? Your most successful? 

Oh this is tough. I think it would have to be ATEEZ: ‘Supernatural Activities’ series. I’m proud of how ‘Dante’s Inferno’ & ‘Angels in the Streets’ turned out and they are well received too.

Who is your favorite person to write about? 

Song Mingi of ATEEZ. Somehow writing about him always seems personal. Maybe it’s the similarities we carry. It seems like a lot of the time, the bias is the one who is most similar to us.

What inspires you to write? 

Simply the need to escape reality and it’s an outlet to expel excess emotions I carry sometimes. All is well in the mind after I write and sleep.

What do you hope your readers take away from your work? 

I hope it provides you an escape for a brief moment, I hope it makes you happy. I hope you could enjoy the world with a touch more romanticism, we are all a part of the aesthetic we see in the media and more. Sure it’s a tough world but there are good in it too.

What do you do when you hit a rough spot creatively? 

I take a break. It’s no use for me to push on when I hit a rough patch. I’ll read and do everything else except writing. It rarely happens as I’m constantly full of ideas, it’s the lack of motivation that keeps me from creating.

What do you think makes a good story? 

To be honest, if I enjoyed it, it’s good. I’m a simple person with simple pleasures.

What is your writing process like? 

Messy 😂 There’s no getting around it. I would rewrite a paragraph three times if I don’t like it, delete a thousand words, scrap a different story to incorporate it into another. I don’t always start from the beginning either. A writing piece could take anywhere within several minutes, a few hours to days, weeks and months. It all depends on my motivation and how busy work is keeping me from writing. (Psst, it’s mostly the former).

Do you think there’s a difference between writing fanfiction vs. completely original prose?

Yes. Writing in the fanfiction world, more often than not, we are already given much of the relationship dynamics and setting. (Unless it’s AU then that's a whole different animal, it might as well be an original prose). In original prose, we have to weave most, if not all, of the world and characters building… I hope I understood the question right...

Would you ever repurpose a fic into a completely original story? 

Maybe. It’s usually the other way around. I have thoughts to repurpose an abandoned original story for a fic series. Highly unlikely that I’ll actually do it.

How much would you say audience feedback/engagement means to you? 

A lot! Please! It’s the biggest motivation for us content creators to keep creating! You have no idea how fast my hand reaches for my phone every time tumblr notifications pop up, hoping for a reblog and comments in the tags.

What has been one of the biggest factors of your success (of any size)? 

My mutuals reblogging my works. They’re exposed to new eyes and the readers, on the other hand, find a new blog.

Do you think fanfic writers get unfairly judged? 

Yes. Fanfic writers are as important to the fandom community as the rest of the content creators are. 

Do you think art can be a medium for change? 

Absolutely. Art is a fantastic gateway to many things. 

Do you ever feel there are times when you’re writing for others, rather than yourself? 

Only when I decided to take requests which happens like once a year and maybe even less.

Do you ever feel like people have misunderstood you or your writing at times? 

No, I don’t think so. No one has asked me to clarify any of my writings. One anon used to send me asks about world expansion and said anon turned into a dear friend. 

Do your offline friends/loved ones know you write for Tumblr? 

NOPE. DON'T LET THEM KNOW. I WON’T LET THEM KNOW. NEVER. Leave my virtual writing world be. *puts ‘do not cross’ yellow tape all over*

What is one thing you wish you could tell your followers? 

Please leave me some feedback, even keyboard smashes are fine, I can translate those. Don’t be shy to leave me asks if you want to chat, ramble, or get something off your chest. This is a safe place for you, an escape from reality.

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers who might be too scared to put themselves out there? 

Don’t be afraid. As hellish this platform is, it'll help you grow in the writing department. I know this is not the best advice but you have to try to see the result. 

Are there any times when you regret joining Tumblr? 

I don’t think so. There were moments of “Why do I even bother?” but it happens and will happen again in the future but no regrets. 

Do you have any mutuals who have been particularly formative/supportive in your Tumblr journey? 

I do! Most of the ones who were there from the beginning aren’t there anymore but it’s alright. Their lives outside of Tumblr are always more important than anything else. I don’t have to heart to unfollow their pages. My current handful of mutuals are an amazing bunch too! The sheer talent and creativity they possessed are out of this world. I love seeing their posts outside of the writing world, their personalities shine through and my heart feels fuzzy whenever I see it. Though I don’t interact often with most of them, I adore them all and consider them good friends.

Since we, writers, create in order to find escape and or brush up our skills or simply for the sake of creating. As we broaden our skill sets, “Necessity is the mother of invention. Failure is the mother of success.” Common, I know, but it’s comforting to know that failure can be a motivation to do better. Don’t stay down, always rise again.

The diner is practically empty in the middle of the night. Only a few trucks parked on the neon-lit graveled lot, the sign noticeably flickering and buzzing if one stands under it or in silence. The drivers are scattered here and there, sometimes clumping together to discuss their work, route, games or family. A long tedious job, lonely even.

You pour coffee into their empty white mugs. There are many things you hear, many you feel too. Maybe your job is just as lonesome as theirs, working at a diner in the middle of nowhere. Beside the road, there are only the electrical towers and the flat open red desert. There are hardy aloes, big cacti and tumbleweeds. The view of the moon is something else at night while the day is sweltering under the relentless sun.

It’s rather peaceful in a sense. The lone TV providing white noise as you work and the petrol station a few miles down does help with the business. Sometimes there are unsavoury patrons but nothing like silence and a shotgun to the face that couldn’t fix. You have to thank the owner for that.

There’s a distant sound of motorcycle rumbling mixed with the coffee brewing machine in front of you. The bright headlight flashes through from the windows, momentarily illuminating the diner. You smile as you watch the biker dismount from his beloved darling. You could hear the crunching of gravel inside your head and in reality the bell chimes prettily along with the bass of combat boots on the black and white tiles.

“Yeosang, it’s always nice to see you.”

With a helmet through his arm and a fitted leather jacket around his shoulders, Yeosang greets you with much friendliness. His dark tresses that seemed to be slicked back are now slightly messy.

Yeosang is a mystery. He appears out of nowhere one day with his bike, always spotless as if he hasn’t ridden through the vast dusty desert. He has a sweet tooth which you think is rather endearing, a contrast to his tough appearance. Though Yeosang has an incredibly gorgeous face, sculpted by Aphrodite herself. You told him once and he blushed while giggling and thanking you.

The French toast you serve him comes with a vanilla milkshake. You are always impressed he could eat such a sweet breakfast for dinner then again, time is obsolete in this place. People come and leave when the time is right. You know one day, he wouldn’t be coming on this road anymore. For now, Yeosang will be here and he looks at you with those beautiful eyes, marked with an angel’s kiss on one of the corners, oh so fond and a tad bashful in his confidence.

“I’ll give you a ride home.”

𝒯𝒶𝓁𝑒𝓈 & 𝒯𝑒𝒶 𝒻𝓇𝑜𝓂 𝒲𝑜𝓃𝒹𝑒𝓇𝓁𝒶𝓃𝒹 is the warm hug needed to rouse any sleepyheads from their nest of blankets. The hissing of steam, watching frothy foam form in a whirlpool of milk and freshly roasted coffee beans wafting through the air. By 6am sharp, the trio bustling behind the counter in polished synchronicity are there to greet the early risers. Be it mortals or mythical beasts, familiars and newcomers are all welcome. A cake or two never hurts as the little helpers would say, “There’s always room for dessert!” One of the three baristas would look fondly across the street, contemplating to send out a particular treat.  

“You’ve burnt the coffee again...”

“Oops, my bad!”

“I would say penny for your thoughts, but we all know who you were thinking about.”

𝐈𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐤𝐬 is the sharp glint of metal that catches one’s eyes and ensnares all their attention. Neon signs that beckon a coy welcome. The steady mechanical whirring and vibrations start when ink runs across each new canvas. Artists bring their art to life, quite literally. One in particular is often sought after for his charming intricacy. The receptionist at the front is no stranger to dealing with bookings to the brim. Perhaps that’s why the generous coffee delivery found on the marble desk each morning is such a saving grace. 

“Just go over there and thank them in person already!”

“I don’t even know what name to drop! Who would I ask for?”

“Yeah but you have that smiling sunflower doodle on the underside of the cup, do you not?”

well now that cheollie is back, (i internally scream CHOI SEUNGCHEOL every time) i want to take him out on walk at the park. it’s winter but when the sky is clear and you could feel the sun on your face. to walk beside him whether in silence or in convo seems really nice. how’s seoul, tay?

seoul was nice while it lasted before my study abroad program canceled our semester and sent us home. i will definitely post pictures or share the insta i made for my study abroad adventures that were cut short. im currently back in the US fighting jetlag still from the +15 hr time difference.

but yeah. I hope you’ve been doing good leo! and i really love this idea.

seungcheol would be all bundled up even though it wasn't too chilly outside, maybe like a few degrees celsius. despite the breeze the sun shines brightly reflecting off the snow like glimmering stones. conversation with seungcheol would come up occasionally but there would be no pressure to try and converse. your arms would be linked as you walked through the quiet park. it would be one of those moments where nothing else is as important as spending time together. which i think is sweet.

The black marble floor is cool under your feet, the only light shining into the lavish place is the moonlight streaming through the ceiling reaching windows. Hades!San guides you around the ballroom. Ever the gentleman, he too is barefooted, the King of the Underworld didn’t want to step on your toes with his dress shoes.

To unknowing mortals, the palace only serves as a historical architecture but to him who holds you dearly in his arm, it is more than just a building. Anywhere could be heaven with you even in the darkest corner of his home. You bring him life. The warmth of the sun and the blooms of spring.

“San…”

“Yes, my dearest?”

The inaudible song playing in his head muted to give you his undivided attention. From his first life to the current cycle, he has never forgotten you. He searches for you every time. He looks at you as if you hold the universe and to him you do. You are his universe, the life to his death, the colours to his monochrome.

Your hands cupping his face has him sighing with contentment, he cooled his eyes and nuzzles into your touch. You are always so warm compared to him.

“I love you.”

San breaks into a smile, his dimples showing. He rarely smiles yet with you it’s so easy. He knows. You know. As sure as the ichor running through his veins and as sure as the first bone chilling winter, he never once doubted you.
