You know that post about how angels and telephone towers are biologically compatible? That’s how I feel about overgrown plants and industrial machines.

Watch out he’s a sneaky rat.
This is my 3rd Chaos Dwarf from checkpoint miniatures. Sculpted by Mark Sims. I love that he’s sneakily drawing his second knife. I thought he looked like he was in WW1 fatigues so I did him in an army green. Rats traditionally have black eyes but that didn’t look very good so I went with white.
The photos have highlighted some mistakes around his belt but that should be an easy fix. I probably won’t post photos of the corrected miniature.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback and advice.

This is one of the player characters from the 2003 Dungeons and Dragons board game. The sculpt is based on Jozan the Iconic cleric from 3e and 3.5, I’ll include some art at the end, couldn’t find the artist though and I can’t read the signature.
Decided not to stick to the art. Not sure what god he’s supposed to worship as I’m not big on a lot of dnd lore. I think his shield is supposed to be the sun but I decided to paint it like it was The Green Man.
This was my first attempt at static grass, it’s pretty patchy now so I don’t think I’ve got the hang of it.

This Elf (I assume she’s an Elf) is from the 2015 Magic the Gathering arena of the Planeswalkers board game, I bought the game solely for the miniatures. I’ve not played the game and I know very little about Magic the Gathering, though I do love the art.
Really happy with this one, I was going to put pupils in her eyes but I quite like them as they are.
Some more basing experiments with this one, was trying to make it look like wildflowers.

I received this Oni as a gift, it’s from @lostkingdomminiatures it’s part of a Magmhorin Immortals set. I also have his dwarf handlers and the command group but they’re not painted yet. The base is from @txarlifactory.
I’m pretty happy about how he turned out, I’m a little unsure about the crystals though could have tried to get sharper highlights on the edges.

I’m calling this fella Gristlegrunt Man Eater. He’s an Ogor Glutton I got from Games Workshop but I’ll be using him as an Ogre in role playing games.
This is my first time using green stuff. I did the cobblestone on the base and his gut. I’m overall happy even if his belt buckle is pretty simplistic.
Also cut the top off of a club and replaced it with a cleaver from the same set. The meat on his right hand side is from a set of kroot I had when I was about twelve.
I see this guy being a butcher and gangster in my DCCRPG game I run for some friends set in a fantasy metropolis named Ormstad.

@a-wa-c I’m really pleased how raw and fresh he turned out.

I painted this Zombie from arbiter miniatures as Rawhead and Bloody Bones a figure from Lancashire folklore as well as other parts of the UK and North America (Where he’s two guys?)
He’s basically just a spook used to keep children in line. he’s hunched and unnaturally strong with blood running down his face from a raw and bloody scalp. He lives under the stairs or in bodies of water.
Rawhead and Bloody Bones
Steals naughty children from their homes,
Takes them to his dirty den,
And they are never seen again - Old Nursery rhyme from the North of England.
I always thought he was the vengeful spirit of a criminal hanged from a gibbet until his skin sloughed off. No idea what gave me that idea but it is what inspired the paint job.

Here’s another Chaos Dwarf from Checkpoint Miniatures. I picture this guy as a ranger and guide, leading people across Moor and Fen and into the deepest woodlands.

This Ettin guy is from the 2nd edition of the Descent board game. This is the second miniature I finished after getting back into painting, finished him in December. Only did his base recently, I’ve been testing out different basing materials most of which is scenery stuff for model train dioramas.

Here’s a Troll from the 2003 Dungeons and Dragons board game this one based on art by Matthew Mitchell. Love this guy, he looks kinda friendly just nervously waving hello.
I’ve made no attempt to match my colours with the art something that will be apparent when I post some of the player characters.

This is The Golem a Barbarian I got from checkpoint miniatures and sculpted by Máté Lavotha, he’s in 28mm scale and made of white metal. The skull is from the citadel box of skulls. I love this miniature this is the peak barbarian for me rippling muscles and a teeny tiny head.
I didn’t feel too confident in removing the mold lines in case I ruined his arms. Looking at them now, I think I probably could have. But you live and learn andI’m happy with how he turned out regardless.

I got this Conquistadwarf from eBay a long while back. The seller doesn’t appear to exist anymore and I can’t find who originally modelled it.
If you recognise the sculpt let me know, the quality of the print doesn’t really bother me but I imagine some of the detail is lost so I would like to get a better one.
