Hello! Just an update, recently ran a 5k and ran a new pr of 16:30! So I’m excited to start to see some of my hard work pay off since I haven’t seen a ton of progress in my races (but have in workouts a ton). I’m also excited about this since I’m mainly gearing up for the 10k right now so I’m happy with where fitness is and with the time I ran given that it’s not the main thing I’m training for at the moment. Happy running to you all 🫶🏼
Also if anyone has any questions or ideas, or types of posts that they would be interested in w running etc, feel free to reach out!

Update on conference races this past weekend: I won both the 5k and 3k but even with running a 5k PB of 16:40 this indoor szn the field across the board got a lot faster and I missed making the national team for indoors (only top 18) by 2 seconds. I will keep working to do well but it’s kinda just a bummer to put in the work and have not yet seen the progress or results. I’m in about 16:25 (or lower!) shape but it just hasn’t come through in my races in the way that it needs to. But on to outdoor! 10k szn 😎

Small updates 🥳🥳🥳
Have been sick the past week or so, but raced a 3k and had a small new technical racing pb in the low 9:40s! While it wasn’t what I was hoping for in the race, I was proud to still try my best to execute while having a throat infection. But still proud of my efforts in my first race back for indoor track this spring!

“I’d rather be around a passionate nerd than a non-passionate cool person. Because if you lack passion, your soul is diminishing by the second. You have to be passionate about something. Call it obsessed or whatever you want, but be obsessed about something. Obsessed people care. I’m passionate about so many things, it becomes an issue at certain points, but at least you have the ability to feel that much about something.”

“Solitude is dangerous. It’s very addictive. It becomes a habit after you realize how peaceful and calm it is. It’s like you don’t want to deal with people anymore because they drain your energy.”
