ED movies with ratings by me<3

I’ve tried not to have spoilers but for the trigger rating there may be couple of plot reveals, but I’ve kept it to a minimum.

To the bone- This is a classic. I really like it because it portrays straight anorexia, I love Ellen’s sarcastic humour and the show uses actors that have struggled with Eating Disorders, so that make it quite realistic.

Trigger rating- 9, shows her very malnourished

Cringe- 8, come on, that doctor was so cringe

Overall rating- 8/10

Sharing the secret- I really like this movie. Unlike To The Bone which shows straight anorexia, this shows straight bulimia. I feel like her mums reaction/response is very realistic because not all parents are like ‘Omg you have an eating disorder, pls eat for me, let me send you to a 5 star inpatient’ Beth is addicted not so much to the control, but the euphoric feeling she gets after she purges.

Trigger rating- 6, shows her vomiting and teaching her friends to purge

Cringe- 1, I really liked this movie and I thought it was good that they showed her binging instead of just eating one bite and throwing it up.

Overall rating- 8/10

The Best Little Girl In the Whole World- They show Casey as the overlooked sibling, in a household with lots of fights. Her anorexia has quite a big control factor and I think they did a pretty good job on her character.

Trigger rating- 6, She goes to the hospital and gets a port/picc line which she rips out and her friend overdoses

Cringe- 5, She’s white, straight, skinny to start of with, reasonably wealthy and that’s how all anorexics in movies are portrayed

Overall rating- 6/10

A secret between friends- I loved this movie its one of the best ones I’ve watched. They have a bulimic and an anorexic so it has a combo. I also like that they show her want to recover before relapsing. it shows how far she’ll go to avoid eating. 

Trigger rating- 9/10 She’s held down by doctors when they force a feeding tube down her nose, her best friend ends up having complications from her ed  and it shows her very underweight and sickly.

Cringe- 1, I think this was a really great movie

Overall rating- 10/10

Starting a liquid fast! My bf is taking me out for the weekend and we plan on drinking and eating out, so I need to make up for that, though I do work both today and tomorrow, so I have to be careful.

For today I am planning to drink some energy drinks (12 kcal together), cola (zero ofc) and chicken broth (like 30kcal), hopefully it will be enough to get me through the day without hunger pains!

I am also finally below 60kg! I am not going to update my cw yet, bc it's only 59,8 and honestly saying it is embarrassing, but I always struggle to break the 60 sooooo :)

Every time I try to make myself more pretty my bf just laughs. Says he doesn't like it. Then he buys me shit I know I will not look good in, bc I have been living and looking at this body for 19 year, I know what doesn't look good, but he insists and insists and then I have to watch him get visibly disappointed that I don't look how he imagined.

I miss the days when I was flat out crazy. I would go on insane fasts and enjoy every part of it. I had a bunch of ana buddies and I would exercize high intensity workouts like nothing, on an empty stomach. Wtf, I want to go back.

🍲EGG DROP SOUP🍲

egg drop soup 😫😫 soooo good and filling and actually really low cal!

Ingredients:

1 can low sodium chicken or vegetable broth (15 cal)

1 medium egg (65-70 cals)

Fresh or ground ginger (2 cals)

Green onions (5 cals)

1 tsp cornstarch (10 cals)

Seasoning to taste (0 cals)

OPTIONAL: 1/4 cup mushrooms (5 cals)

DIRECTIONS:

mix ginger, broth, seasonings, and cornstarch while room temp. heat broth and whisk egg. drizzle egg into hot broth while stirring it. add green onions and mushrooms if you want them.

TOTAL CALS: 97 without mushrooms, 102 with

trust me, this is sooo delicious and filling. I could literally eat it everyday and not feel hungry at all. lemme know if you guys try it. I feel like there’s not enough recipes on edblr :(

Even when recovered I used to eat smaller portions more often, to the point where I would have a smaller version of lunch. My bf would always make fun of me for always eating, asking me how can I be hungry when I just ate (even though his portion was always twice or thrice bigger than mine) and it honestly works like a charm. I have both a reason and an excuse not to eat

I hate counting calories, because it makes me think oh I have this much left I can eat this and this. If I rawdog starving I get to think less about food, but then I don't know how much I ate and that makes me go insane
