@likeadeadbattery asked for pictures of altars, so here‘s my current setting for Usir, though it’s hard to say where it begins and where it ends 😅
Sekhmet is right next to him:

And then there is my altar for Inpw:

Aset, Taweret and Hathor have their altars too, but this is not the day to share them.

To Nefertem
Child, a single drop of dew fell upon your face.
It is fragrant with the scent of flowers.
The sun glitters above the body of Hapi while you play.
In your eyes are the light of youth, the perfection of the world for someone in their morn. How new, how exciting.
But even gods grow up: You become the lion in the borders where no flowers grow.
(So You may break them, so our children may smell flowers & see the world with eyes brimming with love & courage).

This is just my opinion, so do with it what you will. When it comes to offerings I get this hateful feeling when someone questions if what they gave was good enough. I cannot stand it when someone feels shame for what they had to offer and I just wish that there wasn't some standard for what you feel you should be allowed to offer to your god(s)
Remove the thought "what if my offering isn't good enough "
Toss that shit out. Throw it to the wind.
Your offering no matter what it is is your offering. You took something you made, saw, captured, cooked, smelled, thought, experienced or designed and you thought of your god(s) at that point.
In that moment your god(s) felt cherished, and loved and honored to be thought of by you.
If you took what you had and gave it to the god(s) it was good enough because they love being thought of.
I've dedicated chapters in my books to the gods. I've burned incense for them as an offering, I've taken pictures for them, I've gone on hikes and just dedicated the experience. It's not what it is it's the thought. Thinking what you gave was somehow less than what they deserve to me sours the offering. Give with love, thought, feeling, conviction. Don't poison your offering with shame or disappointment.

Being scared of crocodiles is a very healthy attitude to have! Translating that into being reluctant to ask Sobek for support is another thing.
I see and read people describing their relationships with various deities in ways that don’t resonate with me and my experiences all the time. Are they wrong? No. Am I wrong? Also no. There are gods and there is you and your experience with entities is between you and said entities and can be totally different from someone else’s experience and that’s fine. Trust your intuition.
The ebb and flow you are describing about your trauma sounds to me like you still carry a deep wound inside of you. In my belief we are being faced with old trash to get the chance to figure out if we were able to take it out and get rid of it for good, or if we still need to learn lessons from it. The latter sucks so so much and is so so painful, I know, I’ve been there I’m also still doing the work.
There’s a book I can highly recommend, because it helped me a lot and has meditations and exercises in it, maybe you’d like to check it out. I’m sure you’ll be able to find a PDF version somewhere, I have a physical copy:
Legacy of the Heart by Wayne Muller.
And it’s not only helpful if you had a painful childhood, but goes ways beyond.

Is there any harm in yelling at a god to simply “fuck off” or to “leave me the fuck alone” and “you are NOT my god”?

Why do you feel that he might be disappointed in you? Sobek has a very strong and protective aura and has shown nothing but strength and determination when I asked for his protection. It is in the best interest for the neteru to make sure we are alright, because when we are well, then the more energy we have to share with them and thus empowering everyone involved.
That being said doesn’t mean that the neteru can’t be harsh teachers sometimes. But they never failed to support me when it was really necessary.
And even though I don’t have an altar set up for Sobek so far, he is always there when I call upon his protection.
If you work with crystals I can recommend labradorite, since it’s a stone for psychic protection and also helps to become attuned with your intuition. I have a piece which I dedicated to Sobek, because it has a reflection of his eye inside, watching over me.

The poll for the next KRTR topic! I chose the 10 remaining topics that got the most votes in the last round. Elaboration on the topics under the cut!
Living Kemeticism: What does living your faith mean to you? How can others bring their religion into their day to day life or live their religion?
Kingship and practice: One of the first thing that many new Kemetics hear about and learn about is the concept of kingship within the community. For this round of KRT, we discuss whether kingship plays a role in your practice or not.Does the concept of Kingship/Pharaoh impact your practice, and if so, how?
Kemetic Calendars and Holidays: One of the first questions anyone will ask about a new religion is- what are your holidays? For this round we discuss the trials of setting up a Kemetic calendar. What about holidays? Do we need them? How do I figure out when holidays occur? How do I celebrate holidays? Can I make up my own holidays?
Underground Kemeticism: How public are you about your beliefs and practices? How has it (or not) impacted your work life, your familial and friendly ties? What advice would you give to uncertain Kemetics about how to approach either telling or not telling others about their beliefs?
Erotic Mysticism While Kemetic: What is your position on kemetic godspouses? What is your position on the KO’s and other Kemetic temples’ and communities’ stances on godspouses? Why?
Queering Kemeticism: How does being queer or LGBT affect a kemetic? What is your position on “queering” kemeticism? Why?
Leftist Kemeticism: How does being on the political Left affect a kemetic? What is your position on leftism in kemeticism? Why?
Working With Heka: How do you work with heka? How can you utilize heka more in your day to day life? Any tips for people trying to get started in using heka
Highlights of Kemeticism: What parts of Kemeticism do you enjoy the most? How has Kemeticism enriched your life?
Living Kemeticism: What does living your faith mean to you? How can others bring their religion into their day to day life or live their religion?

I did that in the past and it worked just fine, although I called for support from Sobek. The unwelcome deity (from another pantheon) has never shown up since. We are always free to choose which deity to welcome and which not.

Tiny Shrine: Anubis
There’s something about spring that makes me get all crafty and I don’t know what that is. Maybe it’s the fact that I can finally get outside to spraypaint / use chemicals. Maybe it’s because the SO is finally going away to the cabin on the weekends and leaving me to my own devices. I don’t know.
So I found this box:
Tumblr media
And it’s got this weird little grate in it?
Tumblr media
I don’t know what it is. A humidor? Potpourri box? Is it for remains? No clue.
But the grate lifts out….
Tumblr media
…and it reminds me of a little confessional.
And I, the perpetual altar-maker says, yes. This should be a tiny shrine. But for whom?
Dude. No brainer. My patron diety, protector of the dead, lover of the living, weigher of hearts and lord of secrets…
Tumblr media
WHO ELSE LOVES ANUBIS LIKE I LOVE ANUBIS?
I’ll put the photos under the cut. This is mostly for @lowlights since I promised her pictures of my tarot shrine and haven’t been able to work on that one (much bigger project). So she gets this for now. But maybe y’all can appreciate a little craftaganza?
