The anime adaptation of this chapter was great, EXCEPT FOR THIS SCENE.

WHY MAPPA??? WERE WE REALLY ASKING FOR TOO MUCH 😭

Whenever I'm feeling skeptical, I just stare at this panel of what could be the last time we see through Levi's eyes. No matter how you try to spin things around to come to the conclusion that Petra never meant anything to him, you can't deny the proof that she did right before our eyes. What type of significance their relationship held is open to interpretation. Years after her death, she is still in the front of his mind. In a detail oriented story like SNK, something like this visualization isn't a coincidence. It's not a recollection of a single memory, but a collage of the memories he shared with every single comrad that was sacrificed to protect Eren's life. Those closest in this image are perhaps the sacrifices he regrets the most.

Hi everybody, my new Rivetra fic

"Disbanded" is officially up on AO3!

Disbanded is a multi-chapter fic that chronicles the development of the relationship between Levi Ackerman and Petra Ral upon her entry to the Survey Corps. in an AU. During a brutal expedition, Petra and Levi share an intimate moment when it looks like they’re done for. After losing 70% of their soldiers during the mission, the Survey Corps. is manditorily disbanded by the royal government. Levi and Petra find themselves with the chance to pursue a relationship together, but are hit with a series of roadblocks. Levi is suspected to be the culprit in a series of crimes tied to the underground. In his temporary absence, Petra is approached by her wealthy ex-fiancé, Emil Albrecht, who tries to rekindle their past relationship.

I began writing this quite some time ago and previously posted a chapter (on Tumblr only) as a one-shot titled "Mercy."

Rivetra Moments in AoT Tactics

This mobile game has been a ray of sunshine for Rivetra shippers.

1.) Levi and Petra are depicted together on multiple banners for the Levi Squad release event.

2.) When Petra is in your squad and you fail a mission she says "Sumimasen, heichou!" which translates to "I'm sorry, captain!"

3.) Levi mentions he's thinking of choosing Petra for the Special Ops. Squad during his crossover episode with Armin, "Clear and Resolute."

4.) In Oruo's episode, "The Power of Assists," Petra says it's an honor to be selected for Levi's squad.

5.) Petra's episode "A Letter Home," is the game's Rivetra goldmine.

Levi wants to share some of his new tea with his teammates, perhaps as a treat before the upcoming expedition. When he goes to look for them, he finds Petra alone in the mess hall. Upon him asking everybody's whereabouts, she explains that everyone's already left for the day. He says "Oh well, you'll do. Come along," like he's settling for just having tea with just her.

But ok, let's stop right here. Why would someone as strict as Captain Levi not know where his squad members were, especially Eren!? Seems like awfully convenient timing, captain. I think you knew full and well where they were. You got Petra exactly where you wanted her and you didn't really want to share that tea with anybody else 😉

The two of them have a bit of a loaded conversation during their tea date. (Yes, even if it's just in the mess hall I say it's a date.) The topic of marriage and mortality comes up. Levi encourages Petra to spend time with her dad despite their disagreements, to which Petra agrees.

Levi and Petra each have another episode I haven't unlocked yet, and I'm nowhere near finished with the game. Hopefully there will be more of that sweet, juicy Rivetra content we are all craving! 🥰
