ok but why did nobody tell me how kind of…amazing? paint your wagon is?
like, it’s literally about an old insane man who drunkenly, at like 2% conscienceness, marries this stubborn mormon lady who literally showed up to town that day, and follows them as they create a polycule with clint eastwood
Honestly like 90% of yellow and back warning signs I've seen are more important and more dangerous to ignore than trifoils I've seen hahaha
But yeah it's supposed to be magenta. According to some articles magenta was chosen because the ink was expensive so it would discourage other warning signs from using that color. The background was also originally proposed as blue because signs with blue backgrounds were not as common in warning signs as yellow. That one didn't fly.
I don't think magenta is international tho, I'm p sure it is a US thing.
One thing I find funny is that, unlike the good old skull and crossbones, this is a symbol you only know the meaning of if you learned it; it is not intuitive.
So now we got this guy. The "radiation rays will skull you so run away" sign.
did you know that the official radiation trefoil is supposed to be magenta, by the way
it's supposed to be specifically different from any other warning symbol. the yellow and black of many modern trefoils is dangerous because it's the same set of colors as a lot of other warning symbols!
I feel like every good and cool person on youTube has been or will be a guest on Sad Boyz.
Hey to all the bdg fans that want more content or were shocked to see him in hbomberguys video, you should check out his episode on sad boyz (jarvis johnsons podcast)
Laika exhibit at the MoPop in Seattle showing the set for the opening scene of the Beldam sewing Coraline's doll.
I love all the different old buttons. The rig for the hands is a pretty interesting feat of engineering since the friction in the joints has to be enough to hold it into place but not so much they can't be moved by the animators. I'm no expert but that seems like it would be tough to do with so many thin, tiny segments.
The thing I was delighted by was how close the prop doll looks to the merch doll I bought years ago.
The thing I keep thinking about in the fall out of the Plagiarism and You(tube) vid is these Internet Historian stans not understanding the concept of a video essay. Like they bitch about Hbomberguy "inserting" himself in an already resolved issue (as dubious as that claim is) and, like, your boy aint that important. He is a supporting paragraph to a final thesis my dudes.
The case supports Hbomb's point about arrogance and not valuing creative work because that video was not exactly the result of laziness, it took effort to make. If IH had bothered to ask permission, give credit, and maybe offer some profit, he might have gotten it and not had to mutilate the video and hide it under the rug later. But, like, he didn't think he needed to because he didn't see the original article as being worth all that. Like it was a meme shat out in a minute with the understanding it would be propagated and mutated endlessly without anyone giving a shit where it came from.
I mean meme culture is a whole other thing altogether, but still.
It was included to explore the motivations and consequences of plagiarism, dumbasses. And also maybe explain why IH has, like, 3 good videos amongst a giant pile of cold diarrhea. It kind of makes me wonder if that cruise ship video was stolen also.
I'm petsitting a coworker's complete Karen of a cat and I swear to god she went from complaining I was touching her/ looking at her/ existing in the same facet of reality as her to complaining that my lap is occupied and how dare I interfere with her ability to sit on me RIGHT NOW in like 3 days.
