yknow ever since people realized tumblr isnt dead and have decided to flock here from twitter and tiktok ive seen a huge influx of people in fandom spaces who dont reblog anything. at all.

like, i used to have an art blog with 340 followers. not a ton but not a small amount either given how this website works with creators. and in my experience back then even the ones who only left likes still reblogged other things or at least posted their own stuff. literally the only empty blogs were clearly bots.

but on this New art blog, i've had so many people with fandom-specific headers and icons with actual usernames as urls and some kind of title or description, but have. Nothing. no posts. all they do is like things. and it's always public, too. their following list and their likes list.

and honestly all it makes me think is that these people are New and also don't know how tumblr works. how likes don't give exposure. not even in a "oh, i know it doesn't give exposure, but i'm still going to reblog anyways" way, but in a genuine honest to god straight up doesn't realize tumblr likes don't work like twitter's.

PLEASE please if you're from tiktok or twitter or whatever please reblog people's art both fandom and original if you like it!! and maybe actually pad out your blog's content in some way so people won't potentially see you as a bot and block you.

you wanna talk about why content creators are leaving tumblr and leaving you high and dry without material to fantasize over? let's talk about it.

hmm, lets see!

first of all, none of you fucking care to reblog our work. we are all aware of how tumblr's algorithm is absolute trash. writers have been BEGGING for readers reblog their works bc it's the only way our works can be seen and in turn, we receive the fruits of our labor via followers and exposure. but no, lets make MORE THAN HALF of the likes to reblog ratios consist of fucking LIKES. on top of that, we don't we shit on writers for wanting the absolute BARE MINIMUM aka a REBLOG bc well, they're not entitled to it aren't they? while writers aren't necessarily entitled to notes, answer this; do you work for free? do you bust your ass doing something knowing that there will be no pay off what so ever? that's what i thought.

secondly, you treat us like shit. you expect us to spit out content like we're a machine and when we don't get to it on time bc we have - idk - LIVES, you send the shittiest asks demanding for more content that you aren't even paying for. do you think people are gonna neglect their real life responsibilities to write for YOU and for FREE? absolutely not. on top of that, when we start writing for ourselves and our own spaces, we get push back. yea, not an effective way to encourage your favorite fic writers to give you more content to consume.

and lastly, YOU STEAL FROM US. each and every fic that a writer puts out has taken hours, days, weeks, or even months to write. that's lots of hard work and time invested into one single piece for you. free of charge. people put their fucking hearts into their work. and what do you do in return? disrespect them in one of the most hurtful ways possible.

so yea, i don't blame a single fucking person for leaving this shithole and NONE of you should be surprised. this is YOUR doing.

Today, for lack of better words, was the worst. Not only were you extremely sad but you couldn’t even call your boyfriend and get him to come over to comfort you. Steve was at work all day so you were left to sulk alone.

You were actually in bed, pouting under the covers when you heard your bedroom door open. You assumed it was one of your parents, coming to check to make sure you were still alive. Wanting to show them some sign of life, you shifted and let out a miserable groan.

After that you expected for them to leave. But instead you feel your blanket suddenly gets lifted off of you. You’re about to protest but before you can you make eye contact with Steve, still in his Ahoy uniform.

“Steve?” You blink in surprise, completely forgetting about being in your comfy little cocoon. “What are you doing here? I thought you had to work the closing shift”.

At your shocked expression, Steve chuckles. “I WAS but I managed to convince Robin to let me leave early. I think she was almost as worried about you as I was… almost” Steve explains. “I come bearing gifts. Ta da! Comfort ice cream”.

As promised, Steve revealed what he was hiding behind his back and it was indeed ice cream from work. You can’t help but feel giddy as Steve hands you a spoon. “Now I remember why I agreed to date you” you giggle. “But you know what would make this even better?”.

“What?”.

“Cuddles from my boyfriend”.

“Oh I see how it is. First you use me for ice cream and then you use me for cuddles” Steve fake pours, earning a playful punch in the arm from you. “Fine, fine. Since I love you so much I’ll give you all the cuddles you want”.

The countdown begun and you slid into the seat next to Peter, the only person your age who had been invited to the “Annual Stark NYE Party” you dreaded every year. Until this year. “Hey there, Peter.” You scooted closer and nudged him with your shoulder. “You know what happens at midnight?”

“It’s a new year.” Peter nervously answered and you chuckled.

“Yes, silly, but do you know what people do?” You followed up and Peter began to scan the room for your father, making sure he wasn’t making fun or had any cameras pointed towards him. “People kiss.” You whispered and he gulped. “You’re the only person here who’s my age, and not half bad either. So, what do you say?” You asked as the crowd started counting down from ten.

“Um…” Peter really wanted to say yes, but he didn’t want to sound desperate. “Maybe?” You cocked an eyebrow and he heard the crowd hit five. “Okay, yeah, sure.” You had a great big smile on your face now and awaited the last of the numbers before leaning in at the same time and sharing that New Year’s kiss.

“Happy New Year, Peter.” You told him while he blushed like crazy. “What, do you need some water?”

"Can I give you a hug?" Amy said as you beamed in the presence of your friends, glad you had finally told them. When you nodded, she ran over, wrapping you into a hug, and quickly joined by Terry. "I'm so proud of you," Amy said.

"We love you y/n," Jake shouted, cupping his hands over his mouth, and you burst into laughter, surrounded by the warmth of your friends.
